Dart setup for big Week 18
For most of you, the fantasy season is over. But there are some of you playing another week, so we will continue to try to help those of you still chugging along. Just beware. It is tough this last week trying to figure out players that will continue to play or have a big role Week 18. This is why so many leagues ended last week. We will do our best to get you ready, though.
Now for my random thoughts for the week. . . . .
I know this is a year that Josh Allen finishes first overall in fantasy quarterback scoring, but I have a feeling many of the championship teams waited on a quarterback in drafts this year. There are going to be a lot of winning teams that took Brock Purdy and Trevor Lawrence. If you used early draft capital to get Allen, Jalen Hurts, Jayden Daniels or Lamar Jackson, you likely didn’t win your league this year. It doesn’t always play out this way but seeing so many of those mid to later round quarterbacks have big seasons will likely shift some draft strategies next year.
I am totally stealing this from something I saw on X but not sure where I found it, so I apologize for not attributing it. But the disparity between Trey McBride and all the other tight ends is bonkers. McBride finishes with 302.4 points compared to 199 for the second-place finisher, Kyle Pitts. To put that in perspective, Pitts was closer to the 27th-place finisher at tight end, Cade Otton, than McBride. Haha. That is just nuts. McBride is going to be a first-round pick next year in drafts and for good reason. He was definitely a league winner in 2025.
I think last week was a good example of why you don’t want to take huge swings the last week of the season. There were a lot of owners that started Taysom Hill after his usage the previous week. He ended up a huge bust, though, scoring no points on three touches. It was a big risk, something I just don’t advise at this time of the year. I might feel better about it during the regular season, but going with a guy in the championship that had done next to nothing all year was just not something I was comfortable with. Just something to keep in mind going forward.
I can’t remember a season so wide open when it comes to predicting the Super Bowl. I think all three NFC West teams could represent the NFC. I still don’t think you can count out the Eagles, though. They can get hot and make a run. You also have the upstart Bears that showed me a lot last week in their epic game with the 49ers. I really don’t have a great feel for the team to come out of the NFC. It should be a great playoffs.
And over in the AFC, the Chiefs are finally giving someone else a shot. Is this the year the Bills get over the hump? It is certainly possible but you have to wonder about that defense. The Broncos are having a great season but been involved in so many close games against all types of opponents. I still can’t figure out how good they are. The Patriots might be the best overall team right now in the AFC, but certainly have question marks after being out of the playoffs the last several seasons. And you can’t discount the AFC South, having both the Jaguars and Texans making noise. I like the Texans a little better because of that suffocating defense. Houston could be a tough out because of that.
So as you can see, these playoffs are setup to be really good. Let’s hope it plays out that way. I know I’m looking forward to them this year. It could be epic!
HOT PLAYS
Kyren Williams, RB, Rams. Williams hasn’t been quite as prolific this season with the emergence of Blake Corum, who is stealing some of his work. Corum is banged up, though, and might miss the game this week. That would be a big positive for Williams, who has a very favorable matchup against a bad Cardinals rush defense. Williams scored 17.7 fantasy points against the Cardinals in Week 14. Arizona allows the second-most fantasy points to running backs. Williams could be a smash play in this one.
Breece Hall, RB, Jets. Hall had one of his best games of the season last week, rushing for 111 yards. He scored 20.9 fantasy points, topping 20 points for the first time since Week 8. He hasn’t had near the season fantasy teams hoped but still produced solid numbers at times in an offense that has been a mess. We like him to continue his solid play this week against the Bills. Buffalo can’t stop the run and allows the sixth most fantasy points to running backs.
Zay Flowers, WR, Ravens. Flowers has produced his best football lately, having 13-plus fantasy points four straight games. He has two 20-plus point games during that stretch. Flowers is about a must-start right now, especially this week against the Steelers in their must-win game. Flower had eight receptions for 124 yards on 11 targets against the Steelers in Week 14. Pittsburgh allows the ninth most fantasy points to receivers.
Jaxson Dart, QB, Giants. Dart rebounded last week after having his worst game of the season Week 16. He scored 27.15 fantasy points last week, giving him 25-plus points two of three games. He has produced some big games this season and seems poised to be a top fantasy player for years to come. Look for him to finish his season on a high note, playing the Cowboys. Dallas has been awful stopping the pass all season and allows the most fantasy points to quarterbacks.
DeVonta Smith, WR, Eagles. Smith continues to be all over the map for fantasy teams. He has less than double-digit fantasy points four of five games. He does have seven games with double-digit fantasy points, though. Smith hit double-digit points against the Commanders in Week 16, his opponent this week. Washington allows the fifth most fantasy points to receivers. Smith seems setup for one of his good games in Week 18.
COLD PLAYS
Tony Pollard, RB, Titans. Pollard has played much better down the stretch, having double-digit fantasy points four straight games. He has at least 85-rushing yards all four of those games. But the last time he didn’t reach that mark was against the team he is playing this week, the Jaguars. He ran for 60 yards and scored just 6.3 fantasy points in Week 13. Jacksonville allows the second fewest fantasy points to running backs. The Jaguars have allowed more than 100-rushing yards just five times all year.
Deebo Samuel, WR, Commanders. Samuel is another one of those erratic fantasy performers this season. He has been more bad than good lately, having few than eight fantasy points three of four games. Samuel gets the Eagles this week, a team he had three receptions for 35 yards on four targets against in Week 16. Philadelphia has allowed fewer than 150-passing yards four of five games. The Eagles allow the fifth fewest fantasy points to receivers.
Jordan Love, QB, Packers. Love seems likely to return from his concussion this week but that doesn’t mean he should go in your lineup. Love is having a fine season but has been up and down all year. He has less than 20 fantasy points five of his last seven games that he has started and finished. He plays a Vikings team this week that held him to just 8.45 fantasy points in Week 12. Minnesota allows the fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks.
Zach Charbonnet, RB, Seahawks. Charbonnet had his best game of the season last week, rushing for 110 yards and two touchdowns. But before that, he has fewer than 55-rushing yards six straight games. He remains a hard player to trust, splitting work with Kenneth Walker at running back. We would not surprise if he reverted back to his mediocre play this week against the 49ers. He ran 12 times for 47 yards against the 49ers earlier this year. San Francisco has played better against the run than the pass in recent weeks, so look for the Seahawks to exploit that weakness offensively.
Tee Higgins, WR, Bengals. Higgins has seven receptions for 112 yards his last two games since returning from a concussion. He has been pretty ho-hum the last few weeks. It would not surprise to see him have another ho-hum game this week against the Browns. Higgins had three receptions for 33 yards on four targets against the Browns earlier this season. Cleveland can clamp down on the pass, allowing the third-fewest fantasy points to receivers.
SLEEPERS
Rhamondre Stevenson, RB, Patriots. You don’t have to like Stevenson continuing to play a role in the Patriots offense, taking carries from TreVeyon Henderson, but you can’t ignore it. Stevenson has double-digit fantasy points four straight games. Stevenson scored a season-best 27.2 fantasy points last week on just 13 touches. He can reach double-digit fantasy points again this week against the Dolphins, a team that allows the 10th most fantasy points to running backs. Stevenson scored his second-highest fantasy point total against the Dolphins in Week 2, finishing with 21.2 fantasy points.
Parker Washington, WR, Jaguars. Washington is sixth overall in fantasy receiver scoring his last three games. He is getting a ton of looks right now in the Jaguars passing game. He has 10 targets each of his last two games and reached the 100-yard mark each of those games. Washington will be worth using against this week against the Titans. Tennessee allows the sixth most fantasy points to receivers and has allowed 290-plus passing yards three of four games.
Kirk Cousins, QB, Falcons. Cousins scored just 10.4 fantasy points last week but played a good game in the Falcons upset win over the Rams. Cousins has played well lately, having 21-plus fantasy points two of three games. He is showing he still has a little something left in the tank. We like him for another solid game against the Saints in Week 18. New Orleans is middle of the pack against the pass and this game could be high scoring with two offenses playing very well right now.
Malik Davis, RB, Cowboys. Davis seems likely to get the start this week with Javonte Williams banged up. Davis is coming off his first 100-yard game, running very well in relief of Williams last week. If he can get a big workload against the Giants this week, look for big things from Davis. The Giants allow the fourth most fantasy points to running backs and gave up 135-rushing yards to the Cowboys in Week 2.
Jayden Higgins, WR, Texans. Higgins had just two receptions but finished with 88 yards and a touchdown. He has been up and down his rookie season but has five games with double-digit fantasy points. Higgins had one of his double-digit games against his opponent this week, the Colts, in Week 13. Indy is all beat up in the secondary and allows the second-most fantasy points to receivers. Higgins might be worth taking a chance on in this one.
High/Low Scoring Games
Each week we will take a look at some of the high and low-scoring games for the coming week. In high-scoring affairs, get your marginal players on those teams in your lineup to take advantage of the possible points barrage. And in the low-scoring games, keep those marginal players on the bench and make sure to have your defenses involved in those contests.
High Scoring Games: Cowboys/Giants, Cardinals/Rams, Dolphins/Patriots.
Low Scoring Games: Colts/Texans, Packers/Vikings, Chargers/Broncos, Chiefs/Raiders.

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed (illness) won't carry an injury designation into Sunday's Week 18 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. Reed was limited in practice on both Wednesday and Thursday due to an illness, but he was able to get in a full session on Friday. Reed is cleared to play, but it's unclear how much he'll actually play in this game. Third-string quarterback Clayton Tune will be under center as well, with the team choosing to rest Jordan Love (concussion, shoulder). The Packers are already locked into the seventh seed, so there's little incentive for them to play their starters. Reed will probably see limited snaps and won't be a reliable fantasy option with Tune throwing the passes on Sunday.

Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert (hand) was removed from the Week 18 injury report on Friday, but he will not play in the regular-season finale against the division-rival Denver Broncos on Sunday, according to Eric Smith of Chargers.com. Herbert was limited in practice on Wednesday before being held out on Thursday and Friday. The Chargers announced early in the week that they would be resting Herbert with a playoff spot already locked up. Backup Trey Lance will make his first start of the year in a bad matchup against a team trying to secure the No. 1 seed in the AFC playoffs and a first-round bye. Despite a suspect offensive line protecting him, Herbert enters Week 18 action as the QB7 in overall fantasy points. In 16 regular-season games, he threw for 3,727 yards, 26 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions. Herbert added 498 rushing yards and two TDs on the ground.

Los Angeles Chargers running back Kimani Vidal (neck) is officially listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's Week 18 contest against the Denver Broncos. Vidal is trending in the right direction after getting in two straight full practice sessions to end the week. There seems to be a decent chance that he'll return from his one-game absence this weekend. He'd likely take over as the lead back with rookie Omarion Hampton (ankle) ruled out for this game. Fellow back Hassan Haskins (concussion) carries a questionable tag into this game as well. Backup quarterback Trey Lance is starting, which could lead to a run-heavy game plan for this offense. Vidal could be looking at a 20-plus carry game, assuming he's able to suit up. Without Vidal or Haskins, the Chargers would likely lean on Jaret Patterson or Amar Johnson. The Chargers' backfield is a situation to avoid in a game where the offense is expected to have a tough time moving the ball with a backup QB.

Los Angeles Chargers running back Hassan Haskins (concussion) is listed as questionable ahead of the Week 18 matchup against the Denver Broncos. Haskins was able to finish the week with a full practice session, which is good news. He still needs to get fully cleared by the league before he's eligible to play. Rookie Omarion Hampton (ankle) has already been ruled out for this game. Kimani Vidal (neck) is listed as questionable as well for Sunday's regular-season finale, so the Bolts' backfield is in flux. The Chargers have little incentive to play their starters, so it wouldn't be shocking if some practice-squad players saw increased looks. Haskins is unlikely to be an appealing fantasy option, even if he's active and Vidal is out. Remember, backup quarterback Trey Lance is running the offense against one of the best defenses in the league.

Chicago Bears rookie wide receiver Luther Burden III (quadriceps) has been cleared to suit up for Sunday's Week 18 matchup versus the Detroit Lions. Burden was limited in practice to begin the week, but he has been cleared to play after getting through two full practice sessions to end the week. The rookie wideout is seeing a larger workload with Rome Odunze (foot) being sidelined since Week 13. Odunze carries a questionable tag heading into Week 18, but he's not expected to play. During that span, Burden has seen six or more targets in each of those games. He's coming off his best performance of the season, where he hauled in eight receptions for 138 yards and one touchdown in the loss to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 17. Fantasy managers should consider Burden a high-end WR2 for this weekend, assuming Odunze remains out.
From RotoBaller
Chicago Bears wide receiver Rome Odunze (foot) is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's Week 18 matchup versus the Detroit Lions. Odunze has been sidelined since Week 13, but he has a chance at playing in the regular-season finale. He missed the first two days of practice, but he was able to get through a limited session on Friday. He still seems like a long shot to suit up, given the Bears have little incentive to play Odunze at less than 100 percent health, and Chris Emma even mentions it seems more likely that he won't return until the playoffs next week. The Bears have already locked up the NFC North, so they're only playing for seeding right now. The absence of Odunze would mean increased looks for DJ Moore, Luther Burden III, and Olamide Zaccheaus.
From RotoBaller
Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy (illness) missed practice all week and is considered doubtful to play in Sunday's Week 18 regular-season finale against the division-rival Las Vegas Raiders. Worthy likely would have been ready to play had this game meant something, but with the Chiefs out of playoff contention, they are expected to rest the speedy Worthy. KC's offense is limping to the finish line this year, with quarterback Patrick Mahomes (knee) and receivers Rashee Rice (concussion) and Tyquan Thornton (concussion) unavailable due to injuries. Marquise Brown, JuJu Smith-Schuster, and rookie Jalen Royals should operate in three-wide sets on Sunday for starting quarterback Chris Oladokun. Worthy, who missed time early in the year with a shoulder injury, took a step back in Year 2 and finished with a disappointing 42-532-1 line in 14 games played.
From RotoBaller
Kansas City Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt (illness) was under the weather this week and missed the first two practices. He returned to a full session on Friday, though, and has been removed from the Week 18 injury report. The Chiefs could opt to rest Isiah Pacheco in the regular-season finale against the division-rival Las Vegas Raiders, which would put Hunt in line for lead-back duties to close things out. Hunt should only realistically be considered for starting fantasy lineups this weekend if Pacheco is ruled out on Sunday. The 30-year-old has taken on more of a secondary role in the Chiefs' backfield of late, having not seen double-digit carries in any of the last three games. He was the team's preferred option in the backfield for most of the season, though. Hunt has 158 carries for 597 rushing yards and eight touchdowns in 16 games, adding 15 receptions for 122 more yards and a TD through the air.
From RotoBaller
Kansas City Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco (rest) is officially listed as questionable for the Week 18 regular-season finale on Sunday against the division-rival Las Vegas Raiders after being limited in practice all week. Meanwhile, fellow RB Kareem Hunt (illness) practiced in full on Friday and was removed from the final injury report. Hunt missed the first two practices of the week. The Chiefs have nothing left to play for, so they could opt to rest Pacheco in the final game of the season. Pacheco began to see more work than Hunt in recent weeks, but with him potentially being rested in Week 18, fantasy managers would be smart to stay away. If Pacheco doesn't play this weekend, he'll finish his fourth year in the NFL with 118 carries for 462 yards and one touchdown on the ground in 13 games, adding 19 receptions for 101 yards and one more TD on 16 targets.
From RotoBaller
Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown is listed as questionable for the Week 18 regular-season finale on Sunday against the division-rival Chicago Bears, but he's trending in the right direction to play after being limited in practice on Thursday and Friday. The 26-year-old has been battling through knee irritation in recent weeks, but he hasn't missed any time, and he should be active to close out the regular season. St. Brown caught eight of 13 targets for 68 yards while playing over 80% of the offensive snaps in the Christmas Day loss to the Minnesota Vikings that eliminated the Lions from the postseason. Even though Detroit isn't playing for anything themselves this weekend, St. Brown should have a normal role against the Bears and should be started in all fantasy lineups. He's the WR3 in half-PPR points this year with 106 catches, 1,262 yards, and 11 touchdowns in 16 games.
From RotoBaller
Miami Dolphins running back De'Von Achane (shoulder) is listed as doubtful to play in the Week 18 regular-season finale against the division-rival New England Patriots on Sunday, according to David Furones of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. Head coach Mike McDaniel left the door open slightly for Achane to play this weekend, but fantasy managers shouldn't be holding out hope. Miami is likely to play it safe in a game that doesn't mean anything for them. Jaylen Wright should be in line to lead the team's backfield in touches on Sunday, with Achane unlikely to play, and rookie Ollie Gordon II should also have an elevated role. Achane was easily Miami's most consistent offensive weapon in 2025. He'll finish the 2025 campaign as a top-10 fantasy RB with 1,350 rushing yards, eight touchdowns, and a league-leading 5.7 yards per carry on 238 rushing attempts. He added 67 catches for 488 yards and another four TDs on 85 targets in the passing game.
From RotoBaller
Minnesota Vikings running back Aaron Jones Sr. (hip) has officially been ruled out for Week 18's regular-season finale against the Green Bay Packers, according to Dane Mizutani of the Pioneer Press. Jones was a non-participant every day in practice this week and will end up missing his fifth game of the season after spending time on Injured Reserve earlier in the year with a hamstring injury. The 31-year-old recorded 132 carries for 548 yards and two touchdowns to go along with 28 catches (41 targets) for 199 yards and one score as a receiver in 12 games. Backfield mate Jordan Mason (ankle) was upgraded to a full participant in practice on Thursday and Friday after missing last week's game against the Lions. Mason figures to handle the bulk of the carries for Minnesota's final regular-season game against the Packers, profiling as a borderline RB1.
From RotoBaller
Minnesota Vikings tight end T.J. Hockenson (shoulder) will not play in Sunday's Week 18 regular-season finale against the division-rival Green Bay Packers, according to Dane Mizutani of the Pioneer Press. Hockenson was unable to practice at all this week and will miss a second straight game to close out the 2025 season. The 28-year-old was highly inconsistent this year for fantasy managers as a starting tight end option, primarily because of the inconsistent play that the Vikings got out of quarterback J.J. McCarthy. Going into Week 18, Hockenson ranks as the TE23 overall in half-PPR scoring with 51 catches on 65 targets for 438 yards and only three touchdowns in 15 games played. With Hockenson out again this weekend, Josh Oliver will be the team's TE1, but he'll be a risky, touchdown-dependent TE2 streaming option for fantasy managers with McCarthy returning in Week 18.
From RotoBaller
Los Angeles Chargers rookie running back Omarion Hampton (ankle) has been ruled out for Week 18's regular-season finale against the Denver Broncos, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Hampton missed all three days of practice this week and is set to miss the eighth game of his rookie campaign. The 2025 first-round pick spent time on Injured Reserve earlier in the year with a fractured ankle, and it seems that the Chargers are just being cautious with a playoff spot already locked up. Hampton finishes the season with 124 carries for 545 yards and four touchdowns to go with 32 receptions (35 targets) for 192 yards and one touchdown as a receiver. Second-year back Kimani Vidal (neck) was a full participant in practice on Thursday and Friday, so he should be expected to lead the backfield in Week 18 versus the Broncos if he's active. Both Vidal and Hassan Haskins (concussion) are considered questionable to play.
From RotoBaller
Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's Week 18 regular-season finale against the division-rival Washington Commanders, according to the team. The Eagles are resting key starters in this one, including Goedert and quarterback Jalen Hurts. Other big names will probably be on the sidelines, too, so fantasy managers still playing for something shouldn't be looking to the Eagles for production on Sunday. The Eagles will hope that the 30-year-old Goedert will be closer to 100 percent for the wild-card round of the playoffs next week. With Goedert out against Washington, Grant Calcaterra and Kylen Granson will step into larger roles with Tanner McKee running the offense. Through 15 games in 2025, Goedert had one of the best seasons of his career, catching 60 passes for 591 yards and a career-high 11 touchdowns.
From RotoBaller
Dallas Cowboys running back Malik Davis (calf, eye) has been ruled out for the Week 18 regular-season finale on Sunday against the division-rival New York Giants, according to The Athletic's Jon Machota. Javonte Williams (neck, shoulder) has also been ruled out, so rookie Jaydon Blue will see by far the most playing time he's had all season long to close things out. The 27-year-old Davis will finish his 2025 campaign on a high note after carrying the ball 20 times for 103 yards in the Christmas Day win over the Washington Commanders in Week 17. He took over around midseason as the No. 2 back behind Williams and never let go. Davis could be in line for an even bigger role in 2026 if the Cowboys don't re-sign Williams. Davis finishes his third NFL season with 250 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 52 rushing attempts, adding two receptions for 16 yards in 10 games played.
From RotoBaller
Minnesota Vikings quarterback J.J. McCarthy (hand) will start in Week 18's regular-season finale against the division-rival Green Bay Packers, according to Dane Mizutani of the Pioneer Press. McCarthy was a full participant in practice on Thursday and Friday and will return to action after missing Week 17's matchup against the Detroit Lions on Christmas Day due to a hairline fracture in his right hand. The second-year quarterback has had an up-and-down season after missing his entire rookie year with a torn meniscus. In nine games this season, the Michigan product has completed 57.3% of his passes for 1,450 yards, 11 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions while adding 35 carries for 174 yards and four touchdowns on the ground. He'll look to finish out the season strong and profiles as a low-end QB2 option in superflex leagues in Week 18 in his return.
From RotoBaller
Indianapolis Colts head coach Shane Steichen said that cornerback Sauce Gardner (calf) will not play in the Week 18 regular-season finale on Sunday against the division-rival Houston Texans, according to James Boyd of The Athletic. Gardner returned from a calf injury to play in the Week 17 loss against the Jacksonville Jaguars, but he aggravated the injury and will now miss the final game of the year. The 25-year-old was acquired from the New York Jets for two first-round picks and receiver Adonai Mitchell at the trade deadline. In 11 total games with the Jets and Colts this year, Gardner had 36 total tackles and nine pass breakups. It was a lot to give up for Gardner, and the Colts didn't even end up making the postseason after quarterback Daniel Jones' season-ending torn Achilles. With Gardner out in Week 18, the Colts' secondary will be more vulnerable against C.J. Stroud and the Texans' offense.
From RotoBaller
Dallas Cowboys running back Javonte Williams (shoulder, neck) has officially been ruled out for Sunday's season finale against the New York Giants, per The Athletic's Jon Machota. Williams has been battling a neck/shoulder injury that he originally suffered in Week 15. He was a non-participant every day of practice this week and will miss his first game of the season in Week 18. The 25-year-old has been a workhorse for the Cowboys in his first season with the team, finishing with 252 carries for 1,201 yards and 11 touchdowns while adding 35 catches (51 targets) for 137 yards and two more scores as a receiver. The former Denver Bronco will end the season as the RB13 in PPR points per game (15.2), a major value for fantasy managers who spent a mid-to-late round pick on him in draft season. Malik Davis (calf, eye) has also been ruled out after missing practice all week, setting up rookie Jaydon Blue for the first meaningful action of his career in a favorable matchup against the Giants' 30th-ranked run defense.
From RotoBaller
New Orleans Saints wide receiver Mason Tipton (groin) has officially been ruled out for Week 18's game against the Atlanta Falcons and will be placed on Injured Reserve, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports. Tipton's season will officially come to an end after suffering a groin injury in Week 16 versus the New York Jets, causing him to miss last week's game. The 25-year-old wideout recorded 11 receptions for 76 yards on 17 targets in 14 games this season. He saw his opportunities increase later in the season, playing 66.4% of the offensive snaps in Weeks 12-16 and collected all of his production during that span after playing only 10.5% of the snaps over the first 10 weeks of the season. With top wideout Chris Olave (illness) also ruled out, the available receivers for the Saints in Week 18 will be Kevin Austin Jr., Dante Pettis, Ronnie Bell, and Samori Toure.
