The playoff picture is starting to take shape across the NFL. While some teams have been securing playoff spots, there is still a lot to play for during Week 17. We also have another DFS slate to enjoy. Here are some players to target for your lineups, as well as a few to possibly avoid.

Quarterbacks

Jacoby Brissett, ARI at CIN ($5,700): Brissett had a disappointing performance versus the Falcons last week, throwing for 203 yards, one touchdown and one interception. It marked his lowest yardage total since taking over at quarterback for the Cardinals and just his second game with fewer than two touchdown passes. This is a great bounce-back spot for him against the Bengals, who have allowed the most points per game (30.5) in the league.

Jaxson Dart, NYG at LV ($5,400): Dart might not be a popular DFS option this week after he threw for just 33 yards in Week 16 against the Vikings. He was missing three of his five starting offensive lineman, which is bad news when you face the Vikings, who have the fifth-most sacks. This is a much easier matchup against the Raiders, who have the seventh-fewest sacks. While his offensive line will still be compromised, Dart and his mobility can help make up for that in this matchup.

Player to Avoid

Sam Darnold, SEA at CAR ($5,900): Darnold has been all over the place lately. Over his last six games, he threw multiple touchdown passes in three of them. In each of the other three games, he didn’t record a single touchdown. This isn’t the easiest of matchups, considering that the Panthers are tied for the sixth-fewest passing touchdowns allowed. Another disappointing stat line could be coming.

Running Backs

Ashton Jeanty, LV vs. NYG ($6,100): Facing one of the best defenses in the league last week, Jeanty ran for 128 yards and one touchdown against the Texans. He also recorded a 60-yard receiving touchdown. Another juicy stat line could be on the horizon against the Giants, who have allowed the most yards per carry to running backs in the league. The Raiders could certainly deploy a run-heavy approach with Brock Bowers (knee) now on injured reserve.

Michael Carter, ARI at CIN ($5,200): Carter has taken over as the lead running back for the Cardinals. In the last two games, he has run 25 times for 121 yards. The Bengals have allowed the second-most yards per carry and the second-most yards per target to running backs, so Carter could be in line for one of his best stat lines of the season.

Player to Avoid

Breece Hall, NYJ vs. NE ($5,700): The Jets offense hasn’t been able to get much going with Brady Cook under center. They scored a total of 26 points with him starting the last two games. In those games, Hall had 77 combined rushing yards and 23 combined receiving yards. Facing a Patriots defense that has permitted the sixth-fewest rushing yards per game isn’t likely to help Hall break out of his funk.

Wide Receivers

Ja’Marr Chase, CIN vs. ARI ($8,300): The return of Joe Burrow from injury has provided a huge boost for Chase. Across the last four games together, Chase has caught 31 of 49 targets for 395 yards. The only downside was that he didn’t find his way into the end zone during that span. Still, the hefty workload leaves him with a high floor for his matchup with a Cardinals team that has allowed the 10th-most passing yards per game.

Jakobi Meyers, JAX at IND ($5,300): Meyers has settled in nicely with his new team. He has been targeted at least six times in each of the last six games. In three of them, he came away with a touchdown. During that six-game span, he was given six targets inside the 10-yard line. With the Jaguars’ offense firing on all cylinders right now, Meyers could end up being one of the better wide receiver value options for the slate.

Player to Avoid

Tetairoa McMillan, CAR vs. SEA ($5,900): McMillan only has two games with at least 100 receiving yards this season. However, he has helped make up for that with five touchdowns over his last five games. Being touchdown dependent is not a recipe for success against the Seahawks, who have allowed only 18.6 points per game. They have allowed a total of just 12 touchdown receptions to wide receivers.

Tight Ends

Trey McBride, ARI at CIN ($7,500): Play tight ends against the Bengals. They have allowed the most receptions, receiving yards and touchdowns to the position. McBride is already an elite option, but this matchup makes him almost a must-roster in DFS, especially in cash games. There are enough value options at other positions to be able to pay up for McBride at tight end.

Harold Fannin Jr., CLE vs. PIT ($5,000): Fannin has received at least five targets in all five games since Shedeur Sanders took over at quarterback for the Browns. In three of those games, he scored a touchdown. He also came away with at least seven receptions two times. The Steelers have allowed the third-most fantasy points per game to tight ends, so slowing down Fannin might be difficult for them.

Player to Avoid

Dallas Goedert, PHI at BUF ($4,300): Goedert has three or fewer receptions in four of his last six games. In all four of those games, he had fewer than 33 receiving yards. He doesn’t come with a ton of upside for his matchup against the Bills, who have allowed the fewest receptions to tight ends in the league.
