Injury Status: Week 10

For some reason, it sure feels like players are taking a little longer to return to action this year. Some guys that you thought would be out just a game or two are missing multiple weeks of action. Maybe that is the case every year, but it sure seems like this year is a bit different. We guess some teams might be withholding the severity of some of these injuries, though. Hopefully, this isn’t a trend going forward. We want our players back!

Here is the latest. . . .

Quinshon Judkins, RB, Browns. Judkins is already practicing in full this week. His shoulder injury doesn’t seem to be an issue anymore. The bye last week was probably a big help getting Judkins healthy. He will be fine to use Week 10, getting his normal workload.

Bucky Irving, RB, Bucs. Irving is doing some stuff on the side but still not participating in contact drills. His foot and shoulder injuries are still a factor. He is not expected to play this week, giving Rachaad White another start at running back for the Bucs.

Chris Godwin, WR, Bucs. Godwin remains out of practice because of his leg injury. He has missed the past three games because of the injury and at this point, we aren’t sure when he returns to action.

James Cook, RB, Bills. Cook sat out practice to begin the week, which is a bit of a surprise. He is battling ankle and foot injuries. This is one to watch. If he doesn’t get in some practice before the week is out, Cook is likely to miss the Week 10 game. Ray Davis and Ty Johnson would split the work at running back for the Bills.

Jayden Daniels, QB, Commanders. Daniels dislocated his left elbow last week but avoided any fractures. He is going to be out for a while but might not be done for the season. He could return before the season is out if he can avoid surgery. For now, Marcus Mariota starts for the Commanders.

Brian Thomas, WR, Jaguars. Thomas was out of practice to start the week because of a nankle sprain. The Jaguars remain hopeful he is able to play this week, though. He is not being ruled out. If he can practice in the next day or two, look for Thomas to play. Keep an eye on the player notes for the latest.

Kayshon Boutte, WR, Patriots. Boutte had to leave the game last week because of a hamstring injury. He is out of practice right now. It is not looking good for Boutte to play. Get other options ready.

Rhamondre Stevenson, RB, Patriots. Stevenson missed the game last week because of a toe injury and remains sidelined. He still isn’t practicing. Stevenson seems a long shot to play Week 10, barring a big turnaround before the week is out. TreVeyon Henderson should handle most of the running back duties for the Patriots this week.

Garrett Wilson, WR, Jets. Wilson is back practicing this week on his knee injury. He is right on track to return to the lineup. He should be just fine to play Week 10.

C.J. Stroud, QB, Texans. Stroud took a huge hit last week, suffering a concussion. He has already been ruled out for the Week 10 game. Davis Mills will start for the Texans.

Rico Dowdle, RB, Panthers. Dowdle is battling some sort of quad injury. The Panthers held him out of practice Wednesday, but it seems they are being cautious with their star back. Carolina seems pretty confident Dowdle will return to practice later in the week and play the Week 10 game. Keep an eye on the player notes to be safe, though.

Kyler Murray, QB, Cardinals. Murray was placed on Injured Reserve this week because of his foot sprain. Murray will be out at least the next four games because of the injury. Jacoby Brissett will handle the quarterback duties while Murray is out and could even keep the job if he keeps playing well.

Ka'imi Fairbairn, K, Texans. Fairbairn apparently injured his quad in last week’s game and is expected to miss the Week 10 game. Go get other options for this week’s game.

D'Andre Swift, RB, Bears. Swift missed the game last week with a groin injury but is back practicing on a limited basis this week. He is right on track to return to the starting lineup and play a big role in the Bears offense. Swift was playing very well before getting hurt.

Kyle Monangai, RB, Bears. Monangai is dealing with an ankle injury and was limited in practice Wednesday. He should be ready to play this week but likely splits the work at running back with D’Andre Swift expected to return from his injury.

Michael Pittman, WR, Colts. Pittman is another player dealing with a new injury, sitting out practice Wednesday because of a glute injury. He might be resting as much as anything, though, so don’t panic too much yet. We would not rule him out. But if he doesn’t practice at all before the week is out, expect Pittman to miss Week 10. But if he gets in some practice, look for him to be available.

Puka Nacua, WR, Rams. Nacua got banged up last week, suffering a rib injury. The Rams believe he will be ready for Week 10, though. The injury isn’t too serious at this point.

Aaron Jones, RB, Vikings. Jones has multiple injuries, dealing with shoulder and toe ailments. He was unable to practice Wednesday, which is not a good start to his week. He is looking iffy to play right now and even if active, Jones might be limited in the game. Jordan Mason starts if Jones is unable to play Week 10.

Brock Purdy, QB, 49ers. Purdy continues to deal with his toe injury. He still is practicing on a limited basis. He needs to start practicing in full once again before he returns to the starting lineup. We look for Mac Jones to get another start for the 49ers this week.

Ricky Pearsall, WR, 49ers. Pearsall continues to deal with his knee injury and remains out of practice. We look for him to miss the Week 10 game. He has really been slow to recover from this injury.

Cooper Kupp, WR, Seahawks. Kupp continues to deal with a hamstring injury and is out of practice to start the week. Last week, it sounded like he would miss just a week of action, but this start to his week is not a good sign for Kupp to return to action Week 10. We would get other options ready.

Value Picks: Week 10

Player Notes
Zonovan Knight Nov 9 6:30pm CT
Zonovan Knight

Arizona Cardinals running back Bam Knight (ankle) exited during the third quarter of Sunday's Week 10 contest against the Seattle Seahawks. He is officially listed as questionable to return, but it seems unlikely he gets back into the game since Arizona trails by multiple scores in the waning minutes. If Knight's day is indeed done, he finishes Week 10 with 10 carries for 28 rushing yards. He also converted four targets into just one catch for an additional five receiving yards. It was a relatively inefficient outing for the 24-year-old and could cost him some opportunities heading into Week 11 against the San Francisco 49ers. Emari Demercado, who has more than 180 scrimmage yards over the last two games, could poach some of Knight's volume. Demercado remains the most intriguing Arizona running back in fantasy football, ranking as an RB3/flex. Knight falls into the RB4 tier.

Dillon Gabriel Nov 9 6:30pm CT
Dillon Gabriel

Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said that "he's sticking with [quarterback] Dillon Gabriel and will continue to coach him up" ahead of Week 11 versus the Baltimore Ravens, according to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com. Gabriel completed 17 of 32 passes for 167 yards, two touchdowns, and zero interceptions during Sunday's loss to the New York Jets. He also showcased significant mobility late in the game, adding five rushing attempts for 54 rushing yards. The rookie had a decent day in terms of scoring, limiting turnovers, and running the ball, but he'll need to improve on his completion rate and total yardage. Nevertheless, Stefanski sees enough potential in the Oregon product to keep him involved in the first-team offense going forward. He'll rank as a low-end QB2 with the potential to rack up garbage-time points against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 11.

Davante Adams Nov 9 6:20pm CT
Davante Adams

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Davante Adams (back) exited during the second half of Sunday's Week 10 contest against the San Francisco 49ers. He is officially listed as questionable to return, but it seems unlikely that he plays any more snaps with Los Angeles leading by multiple possessions in the waning minutes. If Adams' day is indeed done, he finishes with six catches, 77 yards, and a touchdown. The veteran receiver led the team in yards and was one of four players to haul in a touchdown pass from Matthew Stafford. He will continue to rank as a strong WR1 option in fantasy football ahead of next week's game against the Seattle Seahawks.

Chris Rodriguez Jr. Nov 9 6:20pm CT
Chris Rodriguez Jr.

Washington Commanders running back Chris Rodriguez Jr. (shoulder) exited during the second half of Sunday's Week 10 contest against the Detroit Lions. He is officially listed as questionable to return. At the time of his departure, he had six carries for 16 rushing yards and a touchdown, sharing work with Jacory Croskey-Merritt and Jeremy McNichols. As long as this backfield continues to operate out of a committee, all three backs will be tough to trust in fantasy football. Managers who roster any of the three running backs should stay tuned for updates on Rodriguez, as his status will impact the backfield split in Week 11 against the Miami Dolphins.

Da'Ron Payne Nov 9 5:58pm CT
Da'Ron Payne

Washington Commanders DT Daron Payne was ejected in the second quarter against the Detroit Lions in Week 10 after throwing a punch at WR Amon-Ra St. Brown.

Drake London Nov 9 5:57pm CT
Drake London

Dynasty | Falcons receiver Drake London had six catches for 104 yards and a touchdown in Atlanta's week ten loss to the Colts. Dynasty Analysis: London is putting together a career year and clearly has something clicking with Michael Penix Jr. While the game results haven't been there very often for the Falcons, you can't blame London, who is pushing for top-5 receiver status in dynasty leagues at this point. The buying window on London has clearly closed.

Adam Thielen Nov 9 5:53pm CT
Adam Thielen

Minnesota Vikings WR Adam Thielen caught two passes for 16 yards against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 10. He was targeted three times during the game.

From TheHuddle

Emeka Egbuka Nov 9 5:50pm CT
Emeka Egbuka

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Emeka Egbuka bounced back in a big way during Sunday's game against the New England Patriots. He got the fun started early with a 21-yard touchdown grab on the Bucs opening drive. Egbuka continues to be a focal point on this Bucs offense that is extremely shorthanded. The rookie wideout hauled in six of his 13 targets for 115 yards and a score in the loss. It's unclear if the Bucs will get any reinforcements ahead of their Week 11 matchup against the Buffalo Bills. Regardless, Egbuka should remain a big factor in this offense going forward.

From RotoBaller

Aaron Jones Nov 9 5:43pm CT
Aaron Jones

Minnesota Vikings RB Aaron Jones rushed for 47 yards and one touchdown on nine carries against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 10. He also caught three passes for 22 yards during the game.

Fantasy Spin: Jones was dealing with injuries leading up to the game but received most of the carries in the running game and was able to reach the end zone. He will probably see a few more carries next week and can be at least a flex option in fantasy leagues.

From TheHuddle

Chris Olave Nov 9 5:40pm CT
Chris Olave

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave was able to come up huge for his team during Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers. His biggest play of the game was a 62-yard touchdown in the second quarter. Olave would finish his day by hauling in five of his eight targets for 104 yards and one score in the victory. It appears the fourth-year wideout is building solid chemistry with rookie quarterback Tyler Shough. This was a promising performance from Olave as fantasy managers are hopeful for more big games like this from Olave going forward. Sadly, fantasy managers will have to wait until Week 12 as the Saints head into a bye week.

From RotoBaller

Nick Chubb Nov 9 5:33pm CT
Nick Chubb

Houston Texans RB Nick Chubb ran a season low-tying five times for 47 yards and a catch for five yards in Week 10 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Fantasy Spin: Chubb had nine fewer carries than Woody Marks in this one after tallying double-digit carries in six of his first eight games. Could this be the beginning of Marks taking over the bulk of the work in the Houston backfield? Head coach DeMeco Ryans hasn't veered from his game plan all season, so don't expect him to change now.

From TheHuddle

Nico Collins Nov 9 5:30pm CT
Nico Collins

Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins was all over the field during Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Collins made some huge catches for the Texans in this one, including a one-handed two-point conversion. He hauled in seven of his 15 targets for 136 yards in the comeback victory. This was the first time that Collins has finished with over 100 receiving yards since Week 3, which was also against the Jags. Collins has posted back-to-back seven-catch performances as he heads into a favorable matchup against the Tennessee Titans in Week 11.

From RotoBaller

Breece Hall Nov 9 5:30pm CT
Breece Hall

New York Jets running back Breece Hall was a huge factor during Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns. He rushed the ball 21 times for 83 yards on the ground, but his biggest play came through the air. Hall took a screen pass for a 42-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter to help get his team the victory. This is now back-to-back strong fantasy performances from Hall who was sluggish there for a few games. The Jets are going to need him now more than ever with Garrett Wilson (knee) exiting this game. It's unclear if Wilson will be ready to go in time for the quick turnaround with a Thursday night matchup against the New England Patriots.

From RotoBaller

Zay Jones Nov 9 5:23pm CT
Zay Jones

Arizona Cardinals WR Zay Jones (Achilles) left the Week 10 game against the Seattle Seahawks due to an Achilles injury, and he will not return.

Fantasy Spin: Jones was ruled out almost immediately, which is certainly indicative of a serious injury. When healthy, Jones' fantasy value is limited to the deepest of leagues.

From TheHuddle

Mark Andrews Nov 9 5:23pm CT
Mark Andrews

Baltimore Ravens TE Mark Andrews caught three passes for 14 yards and one touchdown against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 10. He was targeted five times during the game.

Fantasy Spin: Andrews has been held to under 25 yards in four of his last five games but does have three touchdowns in his last two games. He will see a handful of targets next week against the Cleveland Browns and could be a low-end No. 1 tight end in some deeper leagues.

From TheHuddle

Jalen Nailor Nov 9 5:20pm CT
Jalen Nailor

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jalen Nailor has been a non-factor in the offense until this weekend. Nailor came out of nowhere and posted an epic performance against the Baltimore Ravens. He hauled in five of his six targets for 124 yards and a touchdown in the loss. The 26-year-old snagged a 10-yard touchdown late in the fourth quarter as the Vikings attempted to make a comeback. It marked his second touchdown of the season, as Nailor hasn't seen a ton of action outside of this performance. Hopefully, this will be a sign of more good things to come for Nailor as the Vikings take on the Chicago Bears in Week 11.

From RotoBaller

DeAndre Hopkins Nov 9 5:13pm CT
DeAndre Hopkins

Baltimore Ravens WR DeAndre Hopkins caught two passes for 16 yards against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 10. He was targeted three times during the game.

Fantasy Spin: Hopkins had a productive start to the season but has been held to 20 yards or less in six of his last seven games. He will see a few targets next week but should be avoided in all fantasy leagues.

From TheHuddle

Caleb Williams Nov 9 5:10pm CT
Caleb Williams

Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams completed 20 of his 36 pass attempts for 220 passing yards, one passing touchdown, and zero interceptions during Sunday's Week 10 win over the New York Giants. He also had 28 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown. Both of Williams' touchdowns came in the fourth quarter, capping off an impressive comeback win in messy weather at home. The 23-year-old did a good job spreading the ball around, and the Bears leaned on the passing attack more than expected, especially with Kyle Monangai and D'Andre Swift both healthy. Williams continues to rank as a solid fantasy QB1 in Week 11 against the Minnesota Vikings.

From RotoBaller

Baker Mayfield Nov 9 5:00pm CT
Baker Mayfield

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield completed 28 of his 43 pass attempts for 273 passing yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions during Sunday's Week 10 loss against the New England Patriots. He also took two sacks in the defeat. Mayfield played a solid, clean game, but it wasn't enough to hold off the surging Patriots. This showdown between potential MVP candidates in Mayfield and Drake Maye lived up to the hype, as the two combined for 543 passing yards and five total touchdowns. Moving forward, the Bucs' signal caller will continue to rank as a strong QB1 in fantasy football. He takes on the Buffalo Bills in Week 11.

From RotoBaller

Lamar Jackson Nov 9 4:53pm CT
Lamar Jackson

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson went 17-for-29 for 176 yards and one touchdown against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 10. He also rushed for 36 yards on nine carries during the game.

Fantasy Spin: Jackson has thrown for 380 yards and five touchdowns in the two games since returning from his injury and has thrown at least two touchdowns in four of his six games this season. He will be facing a good Cleveland Browns defense next week but should still be a starting fantasy quarterback in all fantasy leagues.
