Downs should rack up the targets

Before getting to my random thoughts for the week, this is your friendly reminder that the byes start next week. A proactive owner is a winning owner, so if you have a player on a bye next week, it might be a good idea to figure out your replacement this week. You don't want to get caught off guard.

Now for my random thoughts for the week. . . .

If you had any concerns about Brock Bowers' health, worry no more. He looked just fine in his first game of the season last week, catching 10 passes on 13 targets. Fantasy owners have to love the way new head coach Klint Kubiak used him. He was peppered with targets throughout the game and seems well on his way to a monster season.

I'm putting Justin Herbert on my bench until he starts to do something on the field. This offense just continues to look disjointed. There is time to turn it around, but Herbert belongs on fantasy benches right now. He has yet to top 17 fantasy points in a game or throw multiple touchdowns. It has been a rough start for a player many thought might be the league MVP in 2026.

Brock Purdy deserves a little more love. He is second overall in fantasy quarterback scoring after three games and is in complete control of the 49ers offense. It has been so impressive to watch him through these first three games. Purdy is playing quarterback at an elite level. I don't think this start is a fluke and expect continued big things from him. What is also encouraging is the offense is running more through him than Christian McCaffrey.

Apparently, all Luther Burden needed to get going was Case Keenum starting at quarterback. Crazy, right? I still have hope Burden has that monster breakout season, especially after seeing his production last week with Keenum as his starter. You saw what he is capable of with the ball in his hands. He is so explosive after the catch. The only thing that continues to worry me is the amount of playing time teammate Kalif Raymond gets, especially in two-receiver sets. It would be great if Burden were the guy out there in those situations instead of Raymond. That would give me even more hope for that breakout. We'll see.

The return of Michael Penix to the Falcons offense sure gave that team a shot in the arm last week. I wasn't sure how Penix would look after his long rehab, but I thought he played one of the better games of his career, all things considered. This bodes well for the entire offense going forward, including Kyle Pitts. I know last week sucked for Pitts, but he produced most of his good numbers last year with Penix throwing him passes. Don't totally give up on Pitts just yet.

I would be feeling pretty good right about now if I were a Zach Charbonnet owner. I really thought Jadarian Price was going to grab hold of the starting job while Charbonnet was out, but that clearly hasn't been the case. Price is having ball-security issues and hasn't done a whole lot with his chances. So once Charbonnet is ready to go, I think he could be a huge fantasy factor, carrying most of the load in this explosive Seahawks offense. He could be a real difference-maker for the fantasy playoffs.

Juwan Johnson was way too underrated coming into the season. He even went undrafted in some leagues. This made no sense to me, coming off a career-best season in an emerging pass game. Johnson is second overall in fantasy tight end scoring after three weeks. He has touchdowns in two of three games and at least three receptions every game. Johnson is a legit TE1 all season long in my view, even when rookie receiver Jordyn Tyson returns to the lineup. There are enough targets to go around in this offense for Johnson to keep producing good numbers.

News and Notes

Commanders: The Commanders signed running back Austin Ekeler. He gives the team another option in their running back room but might have a tough time finding consistent playing time.

Giants: The Giants released wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. on Tuesday. This might be the end of the road for Beckham, but he'll try to latch on with another team after failing to get on the field much for the Giants.

Vikings: Minnesota signed running back Devin Neal on Tuesday. The Vikings are a little thin at running back because of the injury to Jordan Mason.

49ers: San Francisco signed wide receiver Dante Pettis on Tuesday. The 49ers are decimated by injuries at receiver, so adding another one was needed.

HOT PLAYS

Matthew Stafford, QB, Rams

Stafford might be without his top receiver for the last two games, but that isn't slowing him down. He is back to playing at an MVP level. Stafford has two straight 300-yard performances and at least 26 fantasy points in each of those games. Look for him to keep it going this week against the Eagles. Philadelphia has allowed at least 20 points in every game and played a pretty easy schedule to start the year. Last week, Philadelphia couldn't stop Case Keenum and the Bears passing attack. Stafford should have a field day with this secondary, which allows the ninth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks.

Bucky Irving, RB, Bucs

With the Bucs missing quarterback Baker Mayfield this week, look for the offense to lean on Irving. He has been one of the few bright spots offensively to start the season. Irving has 90-plus total yards in two of three games. He has gotten a ton of work as the clear lead back for the team and averages a solid 14.03 fantasy points per game. That number could climb this week against the Packers. Green Bay continues to struggle defensively, especially against the run. The Packers allow the second-most fantasy points to running backs. Bijan Robinson almost ran for 200 yards against the Packers last week.

Josh Downs, WR, Colts

Downs is cementing himself as the clear top target in the Colts passing game with Alec Pierce out of the lineup. Downs has 12 receptions on 20 targets over his last two games and has 12-plus fantasy points in each of those games. The volume should continue to be there for Downs going forward. He also plays the Commanders this week, a team that allows the most fantasy points to receivers. Washington is 31st overall against the pass, allowing 280.3 passing yards per game.

Cam Skattebo, RB, Giants

Skattebo reached 100 total yards for the first time this season last week. He got a little more work with Jaxson Dart out of the lineup, and the Giants leaned on the run a little more, which could be the case for the offense going forward. Skattebo has 13-plus fantasy points in two of three games. He is capable of a big game any given week in this offense, especially this week against Arizona. The Cardinals are 26th overall against the rush, allowing 127 rushing yards per game. Arizona has allowed 30-plus points in each of its last two games.

Tet McMillan, WR, Panthers

McMillan had a rough game last week, catching just two passes for 17 yards. It was a really disappointing performance for all his fantasy owners. But remember, he had 75-plus yards in each of his first two games on 18 targets. And with Jalen Coker banged up, McMillan could get even more looks in Week 4. McMillan has a get-right matchup against the Lions. Detroit continues to have all sorts of injuries in the secondary. The Lions are dead last against the pass, allowing 299.3 passing yards per game. Detroit allows the third-most fantasy points to receivers. McMillan should make his owners forget about that Week 3 game in a hurry.

COLD PLAYS

Kirk Cousins, QB, Raiders

Cousins and the Raiders have been a huge surprise to start the season. Las Vegas is 3-0 and looking like a completely different team this year. Cousins has three touchdown passes in each of his first three games. This is a run-first offense, though, and Cousins hasn't posted huge yardage numbers to date. He is not a sure thing despite a great start to his season, especially at this stage of his career. Cousins will have his toughest test of the season, playing divisional rival Kansas City. The Chiefs allow the fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks, and their pressure defense could cause issues for Cousins. We would stay away from him in Week 4.

Alvin Kamara, RB, Saints

Kamara has a chance to be the starter in the coming weeks with Travis Etienne banged up. Kamara has a huge track record of success, but his play this year is a little worrisome. He has run 18 times for just 51 yards, averaging 2.8 yards per carry. He hasn't done any better as a receiver, catching six passes for 12 yards. He has been very inefficient with his chances. A bigger workload doesn't mean he will start producing big numbers. To make matters worse, Kamara gets the best run defense in football this week. The Falcons allow just 47.7 rushing yards per game. Leave Kamara on your bench for Week 4.

Jaylen Waddle, WR, Broncos

Just when you think you can trust Waddle again, he has another dud of a game. He had just two receptions for 10 yards last week. So he has 10 or fewer receiving yards in two of three games to start his career with the Broncos. He has been uneven to start the year, and another down game could be on the horizon this week. Waddle plays the 49ers, a team that allows just 207.3 passing yards per game. The 49ers allow the 11th-fewest fantasy points to receivers. It could be another tough game for Waddle in Week 4.

Mark Andrews, TE, Ravens

Andrews is having a decent start to his season but is yet to top 50 yards in a game. He has scored double-digit fantasy points in just one of three games. He is getting his catches on a weekly basis, but his ceiling is a little limited right now because of a lack of yards and scores. It could be more of the same for Andrews in Week 4 against Tennessee. The Titans allow the third-fewest fantasy points to tight ends. Tennessee is seventh overall against the pass.

Ollie Gordon, RB, Dolphins

Gordon was a hot item on waivers this week because of the injury to De'Von Achane. Gordon will get the first chance to be the starter for the Dolphins going forward. He isn't exactly a sure thing, though. He averaged just 2.4 yards per carry on all his work last week. Gordon plays in a poor offense and should face plenty of stacked boxes from opposing defenses, forcing quarterback Malik Willis to beat them. Gordon is going to be more of a matchup play, and a matchup against the Vikings this week is not a good one. Minnesota has one of the elite defenses in football and allows the third-fewest fantasy points to running backs.

SLEEPERS

Marcus Mariota, QB, Commanders

Mariota had a really good first start of the season, scoring 22.25 fantasy points. He might have played better than the guy he took over for, moving the offense well while making sound decisions. He has some spot-start appeal for fantasy owners because of his ability to make plays with his legs and find the end zone. Mariota has a matchup for more success this week, getting the Colts. Indy allows the fourth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks and has struggled to stop the pass all season long.

Woody Marks, RB, Texans

Marks has pretty much split the snaps with David Montgomery this year, playing in more of a timeshare than expected. Marks scored his first touchdown of the season last week, getting the red-zone work over Montgomery. This was a surprise but bodes well for Marks going forward. And with Montgomery struggling with his chances, Marks could start to get more opportunities. Marks gets a Cowboys defense that allows the eighth-most fantasy points to running backs. Dallas allows the second-most rushing yards per game (179.7). Marks could be a sneaky play as a flex option for fantasy teams in Week 4.

Mack Hollins, WR, Patriots

Hollins has played the most snaps of any Patriots receiver this year. He has 50-plus yards in two of three games. Hollins had his best game of the season last week, catching six passes for 87 yards on nine targets. He clearly is a top option in the Patriots passing game with A.J. Brown out of the lineup. The Patriots are going to have to score some points this week if they hope to keep up with the Bills, so look for the team to throw the ball in this matchup. Buffalo is 27th overall against the pass, allowing 254.3 passing yards per game. Hollins could be worth a shot as a WR3 in Week 4.

Darren Waller, TE, Panthers

Waller was a little touchdown-dependent his first two games but got looks outside of the red zone last week. This was encouraging for his fantasy floor, as he caught five passes on eight targets. He is quickly gaining fantasy value as the starting tight end in this offense. He has some streaming value this week. Waller gets the Lions, a team that has really struggled to stop the tight end. Detroit allows the most fantasy points to tight ends, allowing at least 27 fantasy points to tight ends in all three of its games.

Malachi Fields, WR, Giants

Fields has done little to start his rookie season, but he has some good underlying numbers. He has 12 targets in three games and has played the most snaps of any Giants receiver, even more than Malik Nabers. It just seems like a matter of time before Fields has a big performance. Why not this week against the Cardinals? Arizona allows the fourth-most fantasy points to receivers, and as mentioned earlier, this defense is allowing a ton of points right now, giving up 30-plus in each of its last two games. Fields is our pick to click in the passing game for the Giants in Week 4.

High/Low Scoring Games

Each week, we'll take a look at some of the high- and low-scoring games for the coming week. In high-scoring affairs, get your marginal players in those teams in your lineup to take advantage of the possible points barrage. In the low-scoring games, keep those marginal players on the bench and make sure to have your defenses involved in those contests.

High-Scoring Games

Jaguars/Bengals, Broncos/49ers, Chiefs/Raiders, Lions/Panthers, Falcons/Saints.

Low-Scoring Games

Steelers/Browns, Packers/Bucs, Dolphins/Vikings.

Player Notes
Jacory Croskey-Merritt Oct 5 2:00am ET
Jacory Croskey-Merritt

Washington Commanders running back Jacory Croskey-Merritt had his third game with just single-digit PPR fantasy points in a row this season. He rushed nine times for 15 yards and caught two of his four targets for 35 yards. The Commanders suffered another injury at quarterback, as backup QB Marcus Mariota (knee) exited the game with a knee injury, leaving third-stringer and rookie Athan Kaliakmanis to serve as signal-caller. It resulted in Washington getting blown out by the opposing Indianapolis Colts, which isn't a huge surprise. WR Terry McLaurin (hamstring) missed the game, so it's no surprise the Commanders couldn't move the ball, which likely contributed to Croskey-Merritt's inefficiency. He's now averaging just 3.0 yards per carry on the season. He looks like the undrafted free agent signing that he is, and it's hard to imagine he keeps his lead RB role for long, but Washington hasn't functioned competently as an organization from a personnel standpoint recently. The Giants will head to Washington to take on the Commanders in Week 5. JCM is a bench candidate -- even as the starter, his ceiling and floor are both extremely low.

Nico Collins Oct 5 2:00am ET
Nico Collins

Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins absolutely dominated in fantasy football in Week 4, catching seven of his eight targets for 118 yards and two touchdowns. The only negative of his day was that he wasn't targeted more, as he was extremely productive and efficient in a game that turned into a shootout. Texans offensive coordinator Nick Caley is a major cap to Collins' ceiling -- his day could have been much bigger if the offense was force-feeding him the ball. But Caley ensures the ball is spread around to the likes of TE Dalton Schultz and WRs Xavier Hutchinson and Kayshon Boutte rather than hyper-targeting his most explosive playmakers. The results show in the final score, which was another loss for Houston. Their offense looked better than usual against a weak Cowboys defense. Collins was still absolutely dominant, and should continue to be so moving forward, but his production last week was unsustainable long-term on such a paltry amount of targets, considering Collins' talent and the game script. He's still a must-start fantasy WR1 for Week 5, when the Texans will take on the struggling Tennessee Titans.

Travis Kelce Oct 5 1:50am ET
Travis Kelce

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce was almost invisible in his team's 30-27 thrilling victory over the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 4. After smashing in multiple games to start the season, Kelce only saw four targets in Week 4, catching two of them for 15 yards. Maybe the 37-year-old veteran is no longer at the peak of his abilities as a football player, and is susceptible to strong defensive coverage. The Chiefs don't need him to have a massive game to win, as they have running back Kenneth Walker III, the most productive RB in the NFL, on their side. Kelce faced double coverages all day against Vegas, and they made it a huge part of their game plan defensively against the pass to shut him down. Even when he wasn't double-covered, the Raiders were sound defensively in covering him. Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes II was looking his way early and often, though, so Kelce should bounce back in Week 6. The Chiefs will rest up in Week 5, as they have an early-season bye. One week later, they'll face the Los Angeles Chargers, who Kelce has a history of absolutely destroying. He'll still be a must-start TE1 for that matchup.

From RotoBaller

Dalton Schultz Oct 5 1:50am ET
Dalton Schultz

Houston Texans tight end Dalton Schultz caught both his targets for nine yards in Sunday's 34-30 home loss to the Dallas Cowboys. The veteran entered Week 4's contest leading Houston in receptions (19), yards (205), and targets (25), but was vastly outperformed by Nico Collins and the wide receiver corps on a day when C.J. Stroud threw for 347 yards. Much of Schultz's production on the season stems from a monster 12-catch, 140-yard outburst against the Bengals in Week 2, and it's looking like that's the aberration for the 2026 campaign -- particularly with Collins back in the picture in his usual target-hog role. The 30-year-old will always be a fringy option at tight end, but his fantasy floor and ceiling take a hit as Houston's WR1 returns to full health. Next up, the Texans face a divisional meeting with the Titans on the road.

From RotoBaller

Josh Downs Oct 5 1:40am ET
Josh Downs

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Josh Downs appeared set to have a massive game against the Washington Commanders in Week 4. They have a weak pass defense, and have been ineffective at slowing down opposing wideouts this season. But Downs, despite getting open on multiple occasions, was only targeted four times in Week 4. He caught three of those passes for 16 yards. Colts quarterback Daniel Jones is partly at fault, as he threw only 143 passing yards. His ineffectiveness this season has held back Downs quite a bit. But even WRs Ashton Dulin and Laquon Treadwell topped Downs' targets and yardage marks. His target share of just under 12 percent was miserable for his fantasy production and concerning for his future. Jones just didn't look his way enough, for whatever reason. There isn't much deep analysis to do on Downs' poor game except that he may not get as many looks as fantasy managers would have hoped even when he's separating well from defensive coverage. He's falling down into WR4 territory, and it's hard to be optimistic about his Week 5 matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

From RotoBaller

Blake Corum Oct 5 1:40am ET
Blake Corum

Los Angeles Rams running back Blake Corum took a backseat to his team's lead back, Kyren Williams, in his team's big win over the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 4. The backup carried the ball just five times for 14 yards and caught one of his paltry two targets for seven yards, finishing with 3.1 PPR fantasy points. It was the second time in as many games that he failed to make an impact in fantasy football, and it's not hard to see why when you look at game script and juxtapose it with the usage of these two running backs. When Los Angeles builds a safe lead against a team that isn't putting up much of a fight, they rely on Corum to help them chew the clock down and protect their lead. In crucial moments of close games against tougher opponents, the Rams lean on Williams, as he's a very reliable, high-IQ player that won't make crucial mistakes. He's cleaned up his fumbling issues substantially from two seasons ago, at least if last season is any indication. Corum is best left on the bench for Week 5, as the Rams will take on the Buffalo Bills, one of the NFL's best offenses. They're likely to lean heavily on Williams, as very few leads are safe against Josh Allen and co.

From RotoBaller

Kyren Williams Oct 5 1:30am ET
Kyren Williams

Los Angeles Rams running back Kyren Williams had his second-biggest fantasy finish as a pro in his team's Week 4 comeback win over the Philadelphia Eagles, rushing 16 times for 80 yards and two touchdowns and catching 10 of his 13 targets for 67 yards. It was unusual pass-game usage for the RB, as it was easily his career-high in targets, despite him not being an elite pass-catching RB. The rushing volume left a bit to be desired, but the Rams have been dominated by the Eagles ever since Rams head coach Sean McVay began his tenure there. The Eagles dropped back their defenders into coverage at a high rate and left Williams open in the flat and up the middle far too often for receptions. Wide receivers Puka Nacua (hip) and Davante Adams were the major drivers of this defensive game plan, as they are a nightmare for defensive backs to cover. Williams' role as the lead back is safe, though in blowout wins, he often cedes touches to backup RB Blake Corum. This is a load-management system that hurts the RB1's upside when the Rams face bad teams. But in Week 5, they'll face the Buffalo Bills, so that won't be an issue. Start Williams in all leagues -- he has massive upside in competitive Rams games, and the Bills have a long history of being gashed by running backs on the ground and through the air.

From RotoBaller

Romeo Doubs Oct 5 1:20am ET
Romeo Doubs

New England Patriots wide receiver Romeo Doubs has been operating as the team's No. 1 wideout since the end of Week 1, but Sunday's Week 4 win over the Buffalo Bills was the first time we saw that increased role truly lead to high-end fantasy production. Doubs led the team in targets (nine) and catches (six), resulting in 58 receiving yards and two touchdowns. We're finally seeing the upside that the Patriots envisioned when they signed Doubs over the offseason, and he's beginning to fill in nicely as the de facto No. 1 receiver with A.J. Brown (ankle) on injured reserve for at least one more week. With that being said, fantasy managers might want to consider selling high on Doubs, because even though he does have one more week as Drake Maye's top target, his volume could dip once Brown returns to action in Week 6 or later.

From RotoBaller

Carnell Tate Oct 5 1:20am ET
Carnell Tate

The Tennessee Titans lost yet another game, this time to the Baltimore Ravens by a score of 18-24. But rookie wide receiver Carnell Tate finally produced like a WR1, racking up 145 receiving yards with nine receptions on 12 targets. Tate has been getting open with regularity through his first three games, but the ineffectiveness of quarterback Cam Ward and the lackluster production of the offense have held him back. The Ravens have a strong secondary, but Tate proved why he was a first-round draft pick by getting open at all levels of the field. His target, reception, and yard totals were a season-high for him, and are good news for the future. He fumbled the ball twice, and lost one of those fumbles, so there are areas of his game he can clean up. But he's excellent at slamming on the brakes, which helped him get wide open on multiple catches. He also made strong grabs in tight coverage. A Week 5 matchup with the Houston Texans may make it tough for him to have another big game upcoming, but things are looking up for the rookie as a WR3/flex with upside.

From RotoBaller

Kirk Cousins Oct 5 1:10am ET
Kirk Cousins

Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Kirk Cousins completed 31 of his 52 pass attempts for 365 passing yards, two touchdowns, and one interception during Sunday's Week 4 loss against the Kansas City Chiefs. He also finished the game without being sacked. It was a very impressive performance from the veteran quarterback, with the lone blemish being the interception. Vegas came up just three points short of the Chiefs in this battle of unbeaten teams, putting Kansas City in sole possession of first place in the AFC West for now. Not only has Cousins been able to support consistent fantasy production from players like Brock Bowers and Ashton Jeanty, but he also has fantasy value of his own, racking up 11 touchdowns through four weeks. He's a sneaky low-end QB1 option heading into Week 5 against the New England Patriots.

From RotoBaller

Jonathan Taylor Oct 5 1:00am ET
Jonathan Taylor

Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor totaled 20 carries, 95 rushing yards, and two rushing touchdowns during Sunday's Week 4 win over the Washington Commanders in London. He also caught one of his four targets for an additional two receiving yards. Taylor has now scored multiple touchdowns in three of his four games this season, and he continues to occupy an every-down role as the undisputed leader of Indianapolis' backfield. The veteran ball-carrier is the focal point of the offense with Alec Pierce (heel) and Keenan Allen (groin) sidelined, but the unit should continue to run through him even after those receivers return. Taylor projects as a high-end RB1 rest-of-season, and he should continue to be started in all leagues ahead of Week 5 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, who just surrendered 96 scrimmage yards and a touchdown to Quinshon Judkins.

From RotoBaller

Jaylen Wright Oct 5 12:30am ET
Jaylen Wright

Miami Dolphins running back Jaylen Wright rushed for seven yards on five carries during Sunday's Week 4 loss against the Minnesota Vikings, and he wasn't targeted in the passing game. Entering this week, it seemed like there was a chance Wright could take on a larger role after De'Von Achane (knee) was ruled out for the season. If that was the case, he wasted the opportunity by averaging just 1.4 yards per carry. Meanwhile, teammate Ollie Gordon II exploded for nine carries, 100 rushing yards, and one touchdown (plus two catches), proving that he deserves to be the featured ball-carrier going forward. There may still be some weeks going forward where Wright plays better than Gordon or even logs a couple more touches, but Week 4 showed that Gordon is the running back to roster after Achane's injury. Wright will rank outside the top 36 running backs heading into Week 5 against Cincinnati.

From RotoBaller

Jaylen Wright Oct 5 12:13am ET
Jaylen Wright

Dynasty | Dolphins running back Ollie Gordon had 100 rushing yards, two catches and one touchdown in Miami's loss to Minnesota. Dynasty Analysis: Gordon had 100 of Miami's 198 total yards on the day. Meanwhile, Jaylen Wright posted just seven yards on five carries. Gordon only had 11 touches on the day but he clearly looks poised to lead this backfield moving forward. While expectations need to be tempered, this is a good first step for Gordon in establishing himself as a reliable NFL running back. He'll be on the RB2/flex line next week.

From Dynasty League Fantasy

Chris Bell Oct 5 12:13am ET
Chris Bell

Dynasty | Dolphins receiver Chris Bell was held without a catch in the Dolphins loss to the Vikings. Dynasty Analysis: It's not as bad as it seems as Bell had a 68-yard touchdown called back because he had stepped out of bounds prior to catching the long pass. The Dolphins offense is a mess and Bell is going to have a hard time carving out meaningful fantasy weeks moving forward. He remains a solid stash but likely one to keep on dynasty benches until we see something revolving an NFL offense coming from South Beach.

From Dynasty League Fantasy

Parker Washington Oct 5 12:13am ET
Parker Washington

Dynasty | Jaguars wide receiver Parker Washington had one catch for seven yards and added three rushing yards in a win against Cincinnati. Dynasty Analysis: Washington was peppered the first two weeks but the Jaguars have tried to get everyone else involved the past two weeks and his fantasy performance has suffered. This is likely going to be one of his worst games of the year but also reminds everyone he's not quite on the WR1 line yet.

From Dynasty League Fantasy

Zay Flowers Oct 4 11:10pm ET
Zay Flowers

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Zay Flowers looked unstoppable on the field during Sunday's contest versus the Tennessee Titans. Flowers has been dealing with a hamstring issue, but it didn't appear to impact his performance this weekend. Flowers hauled in eight of his 10 targets for 118 yards and a touchdown in the win. He led the team in receptions, targets, and receiving yards during Sunday's game. When healthy, Flowers is a stud, but his value could take a hit with quarterback Lamar Jackson (ankle) going down in the first half. Jackson was seen in a walking boot following the game, but the team hasn't given much more information yet. Flowers would see his value take a hit if Tyler Huntley is under center during next week's matchup against the Atlanta Falcons.

From RotoBaller

Tyquan Thornton Oct 4 11:10pm ET
Tyquan Thornton

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Tyquan Thornton (ankle) suffered a dislocated ankle during Sunday's Week 4 win over the Las Vegas Raiders, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com. Thornton hauled in a deep pass, and the initial celebration quickly turned to extreme concern once the severity of his injury became evident. He was quickly taken to the hospital, where doctors fixed his dislocated ankle and gave him permission to fly back to Kansas City with the team. It was encouraging to see the quick turnaround to get him back in Kansas City, but it won't mean much this year. After all, the ankle injury is most likely going to be season-ending. Between the injuries to Thornton and Rashee Rice (hamstring), Kansas City's receiver room is suddenly shorthanded and may look to bolster the position group via free agency or trade.

From RotoBaller

Malik Nabers Oct 4 11:00pm ET
Malik Nabers

New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers put together his best game of the season during Sunday's contest against the Arizona Cardinals. Nabers appears to be finally building some chemistry with quarterback Jameis Winston. The third-year wideout hauled in six of his seven targets for 112 yards and a touchdown in the win. The touchdown came on a 25-yard pass in the second quarter. The expectation was that Nabers would see his value decrease with Jaxson Dart (knee) done for the year. The 23-year-old might be okay with Winston tossing him deep balls. Nabers will have big-play upside against a shaky Washington Commanders defense in Week 5.

From RotoBaller

David Montgomery Oct 4 10:50pm ET
David Montgomery

Houston Texans running back David Montgomery rushed for just 24 yards on 10 carries during Sunday's Week 4 loss against the Dallas Cowboys. He was also credited with 19 receiving yards (but not a reception) on a hook-and-ladder play. The veteran running back's Week 1 performance, in which he scored three touchdowns, seems to be an anomaly. He hasn't scored a touchdown since then, nor has he posted double-digit fantasy points. The worst part of Montgomery's fantasy profile is his extreme inefficiency, as he has averaged just 2.8 yards per carry this season. Week 4 was particularly bad for Montgomery, who averaged just 2.4 yards per carry against Dallas and has averaged 3.0 or fewer yards per carry in every game this year. As long as the Texans' offense continues to underperform and Woody Marks vultures carries, Montgomery belongs outside the top-36 running back tier for fantasy football.

From RotoBaller

Emanuel Wilson Oct 4 10:40pm ET
Emanuel Wilson

Seattle Seahawks running back Emanuel Wilson totaled 21 carries, 81 rushing yards, three catches, 39 receiving yards, and two touchdowns during Sunday's Week 4 win over the Los Angeles Chargers. Wilson stepped up as the Seahawks' every-down back after Jadarian Price (chest) was placed on injured reserve. He has now logged 20+ carries in two of his last three games, and he has proven to be very capable of handling a large workload. It will be interesting to see how this backfield shakes out going forward. On one hand, we have no doubt that Wilson could lead the way and rank as a fringe RB2 in fantasy football. On the other hand, the Seahawks have been linked to free agent running back Joe Mixon as a potential Price replacement, and projected No. 1 running back Zach Charbonnet (knee) is eligible to return from injured reserve as early as this upcoming week. Wilson has some short-term appeal in redraft leagues, but his floor will drop pretty quickly once Charbonnet returns to action.
