Arizona Diamondbacks catching prospect Adrian Del Castillo (back) was sent to the Arizona Complex League to begin his rehab assignment. Del Castillo was placed on the 7-day IL with a back injury earlier in June. This is an excellent sign as the young backstop appears to be on track to make a quick return. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status, as he could return to Triple-A Reno as early as next week. Last season, the No. 6-ranked prospect in the system made his MLB debut and performed quite well during his first taste of the majors, posting an elite .313/.368/.525 slash line with five doubles and four long balls. With Gabriel Moreno (finger) on the IL in the majors as well, Del Castillo could push for a promotion early in the second half once cleared to return to action.

San Francisco Giants shortstop Willy Adames went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored in Thursday's 12-5 home loss to the Miami Marlins. All three hits were singles. The Giants lost their third straight to the Fish in this one, but it was no fault of the 29-year-old's, as he notched his second three-hit outing of the month. Adames is having his best month of the campaign, though that isn't saying much considering he failed to eclipse a .219 average in April or May. After a dismal 1-for-22 stretch to start June, he's gone a more palatable 16-for-54 (.296) over the ensuing 15 games. All four of his homers in the month have come in that time.
From RotoBaller
Detroit Tigers second base prospect Hao-Yu Lee went 2-for-5 with a home run and two strikeouts during their contest against Triple-A Charlotte. This was Lee's second-straight contest tallying at least two hits. This was also his second long ball since the start of June. Lee is considered the No. 6-ranked prospect in the Detroit system on MLB.com. The 22-year-old spent the entire 2024 campaign with Double-A and was given the nod to open the 2025 campaign with Triple-A Toledo. Through his first 63 games at the top level of the minor leagues, Lee has posted a .255/.361/.410 line with nine doubles, five triples, six home runs, 10 stolen bases, and a .771 OPS. At Double-A, Lee held a strong .298/.363/.488 line. Lee could be in the mix to reach the majors in the second half.

SNY's Andy Martino reports that New York Mets No. 15 overall prospect, pitcher Blade Tidwell, will rejoin the big-league roster on Friday for the team's series opener with the hosting Pittsburgh Pirates. The news comes as New York has dealt with a myriad of pitching injuries -- the latest of which, affecting starter Griffin Canning (Achilles). Canning isn't the Mets' only concern, with Kodai Senga (hamstring) and Tylor Megill (elbow) still shelved -- not to mention the recent news regarding the loose foreign body rolling around in Sean Manaea's (elbow, oblique) elbow. For now, Tidwell will be available out of the bullpen, but he could take Canning's vacant spot in the rotation if the Amazin's decide to go in that direction. He sports a ghastly 9.82 ERA and 2.59 WHIP through two starts (7 1/3 innings) in his debut.

Toronto Blue Jays manager John Schneider told MLB Network Radio on SiriusXM that he expects first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (forearm) to be in the team's lineup for their series opener against the hosting Boston Red Sox. The fantasy stalwart took a pitch to the forearm on Thursday from Guardians pitcher Tanner Bibee and was forced from the outing early. However, X-rays returned negative, and it doesn't appear to be serious. Guerrero Jr. is slashing a solid .286/.389/.506 across 77 at-bats in the month, with three long balls, eight doubles, 14 runs scored, 14 RBI, and a 9:9 BB:K ratio. He'll line up against right-handed hurler Brayan Bello for Friday night's matchup if he's in the starting nine.
From RotoBaller
The New York Yankees are promoting outfield prospect Spencer Jones to Triple-A. Jones has spent the entire 2024 campaign and the first half of 2025 with Double-A Somerset. After posting a modest .259/.336/.452 slash line last summer, Jones has taken a significant step forward this season, which earned him the promotion. Through 49 games this season, Jones has posted an impressive .274/.389/.594 slash line with eight doubles, 16 home runs, and 10 stolen bases. Across 122 games last season, Jones hit just 17 round-trippers. The 24-year-old is currently considered the No. 2-ranked prospect in the Yankee system on MLB.com. Fantasy managers should keep a close eye on his progression in Triple-A, as he could open the door for a late-season MLB debut if he continues to showcase his high power upside.
From RotoBaller
San Francisco Giants pitcher Hayden Birdsong allowed four hits and seven earned runs across four innings in his team's 12-5 loss to the Miami Marlins. He walked four, hit a batter, and struck out one. This was easily the former sixth-round pick's worst outing of the season, as the Marlins got to him early and often on Thursday. Birdsong had been stellar throughout 2025, but has now yielded 11 earned runs over his last 8 1/3 innings. At the start of the month, the 23-year-old boasted a 2.37 ERA. That's risen in each subsequent start to an unattractive 4.13. He'll carry that, a 1.38 WHIP, and a 3-2 record into his next trip to the mound -- a meeting with the hosting Arizona Diamondbacks early next week.
From RotoBaller
Seattle Mariners pitcher Emerson Hancock yielded three hits and two earned runs over five innings of work in Thursday's 10-1 road loss against the Minnesota Twins. He struck out two, walked three, and hit two batters to fall to 3-4 through 14 starts. The former Georgia Bulldog picked up a second straight loss in his team's defeat, though he pitched much better this time out as opposed to the nine earned runs he allowed to the Cubs last week. Hancock has steadily given up three earned runs or fewer in 11 of his outings this season. However, he's notched six or more in the other three to balloon his ERA and WHIP to an undesirable 5.30 and 1.42. He'll get the visiting Kansas City Royals his next time out.
From RotoBaller
Athletics starting pitcher Jeffrey Springs posted his worst outing of the month during Thursday's game against the Detroit Tigers. Springs was hit around early, giving up a homer to Spencer Torkelson and a two-run double to Jahmai Jones before the end of the third inning. He settled down after that, but allowed three earned runs on five hits with two walks over five innings of work in the loss. He currently holds a 4.30 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, and 75/34/ K/BB ratio as he heads into his next outing against the Tampa Bay Rays. Springs has some streaming value for that one, but has been more of a deep league option this season.
From RotoBaller
Texas Rangers starting pitcher Nathan Eovaldi (triceps) will be activated off the 15-day injured list and start Friday's game against the Seattle Mariners. As expected, Eovaldi will make his return to the mound after being sidelined since the beginning of June due to a right triceps injury. He threw a few simulated games, but didn't need a rehab assignment before returning to the rotation. Eovaldi has been excellent with a 1.56 ERA, 0.80 WHIP, and 73/10 K/BB ratio across 12 starts this season. Fantasy managers should activate him off their IL and get him in their lineups ahead of first pitch.
From RotoBaller
Detroit Tigers first baseman Spencer Torkelson has been in an ugly slump, but was able to do some damage with the bat on Thursday. Before this game, Torkelson was 2-for-27 over his last seven games prior to Thursday's contest. He got the scoring started with a solo home run off left-hander Jeffrey Springs in the second inning. He would finish this game 2-for-4 with one home run, one RBI, and two runs scored in the win. The slump has certainly hurt his overall numbers, but Torkelson is still putting up his best season of his career. Fantasy managers should continue to hold him through his mid-season slump.
From RotoBaller
Detroit Tigers starting pitcher Dietrich Enns took the mound in a big league game on Thursday for the first time since 2021. Enns made his first start on the mound since 2017 and certainly made the most of it. He tossed five scoreless innings, allowing one hit, two walks, and struck out four batters in the win over the Athletics. This is a nice feel-good story, but Enns probably won't stick around on the Tigers for long. It sounds like Reese Olson (finger) is on the verge of returning, so he'll probably take over that spot in the rotation. Enns will probably head back to Triple-A, but this was still a nice outing from him.
From RotoBaller
Chicago Cubs first baseman Michael Busch continued his hot month at the plate during Thursday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals. Busch got the fun started off early with a solo home run off right-hander Andre Pallante in the second inning. The left-handed slugger has been outstanding with a .311/.386/.608 slash line with six home runs in the month of June. He finished this game 2-for-4 with a homer, one RBI, and two runs scored in the 3-0 victory. Fantasy managers looking for a boost on offense should consider adding Busch while he's hot.
From RotoBaller
Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts confirmed Thursday that Ohtani will start as a pitcher Saturday in Kansas City, Sonja Chen of MLB.com reports. Ohtani will look to make his third start on the mound on Saturday as the Dodgers take on the Kansas City Royals. To this point, he has logged one inning in each of his first two starts, and in those two innings combined, he has allowed one earned run, two hits, and has struck out two batters. At this point, it's still unclear as to whether or not the Dodgers will let Ohtani throw more than one inning, but it's encouraging to see him continue to take the mound weekly. Ohtani has served as the DH and batted leadoff in both games he's pitched in so far, so this shouldn't impact him being in the lineup as a hitter.
From RotoBaller
Minnesota Twins outfielder Matt Wallner has struggled throughout most of the season, but came up with a big hit on Thursday. Wallner was quiet until crushing a two-run home run off right-hander Zach Pop in the seventh inning. He ended his night 1-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and a walk in the blowout win. Wallner has decent potential, but hasn't been productive this season and isn't worth rostering in most fantasy formats right now.

Athletics outfielder, Seth Brown (elbow), was waived by the Athletics on Wednesday and elected free agency Thursday, MLB.com reports. In addition to being injured with an elbow issue, the Athletics decided to move on from 32-year-old left-hander after seven seasons with the Athletics. The decision perhaps stems from the crop of young prospects the Athletics have been calling up to the big leagues, and their desire to create an environment where the young players can play every day. In addition, Brown has struggled in 2025, slashing .185/.303/.262 with only one home run, six runs scored, and three RBI in 76 plate appearances. Brown has some pop to his bat, as he has hit 14 or more home runs in the last four seasons, so a team looking for a left-handed batter with some power will likely take a flier on him.
From RotoBaller
Texas Rangers right-hander Jon Gray (wrist) threw a bullpen session on June 25 at Camden Yards. He is expected to throw one to two more bullpens before discussions of a rehab assignment or a return, MLB.com reports. Gray has now thrown two bullpen sessions within the last week and a third overall. At this point, it appears the Rangers want him to see him throw a couple more bullpen sessions before starting a rehab assignment, but he's trending in the right direction. Gray has missed all of the 2025 season with the Rangers, and there's a solid chance that once healthy, he slides into the starting rotation, although that's dependent on how the young Ranger arms like Kumar Rocker and Jack Leiter are throwing at the time of the decision. Gray is targeting a mid-to-late July return date, and he can remain on the waiver wire for now.
From RotoBaller
New York Mets outfielder Jesse Winker (oblique) is on schedule to begin a rehab assignment on Sunday for High-A Brooklyn, Andrew Tredinnick, beat writer for the Mets, reports. Winker took batting practice at Citi Field on Thursday and is eligible to be activated off the injured list on July 4. Winker has been on the injured list since early May with this oblique strain, and will likely play a handful of rehab games and return to the Mets lineup to be a platoon-type contributor against right-handed pitching. Winker had a nice bounce-back season in 2024, where he slashed .253/.360/.405 with 14 home runs, 63 runs scored, and 58 RBI with a career-high 14 stolen bases.
From RotoBaller
Cleveland Guardians right-hander Shane Bieber (elbow) has been ramping up his activities over the past few days, throwing a 20-pitch bullpen on Tuesday and throwing another one on Thursday, and "felt really good," manager Stephen Vogt said. At this point, it remains unclear whether Bieber will resume his rehab assignment or if further preparation is necessary. Bieber was ramping up in early June in Double-A Akron and the rookie-level Arizona Complex League before experiencing minor elbow soreness, which he has seemingly overcome after a few weeks off, and has now followed that up with a few bullpen sessions. Fantasy managers will want to continue to stash Bieber on their injured list spots, as he is a former Cy Young award winner with a career 3.22 ERA in 843 innings pitched and could contribute over the last month of the season and into the playoffs.
From RotoBaller
Miami Marlins catching prospect Joe Mack went 2-for-4 with a home run during their contest against Triple-A Nashville on Thursday evening. Over his last three games with Triple-A Jacksonville, Mack has tallied at least one hit in each game and gone 5-for-13 with two extra-base hits. Before this surge at the plate, Mack went 6-for-44 during his first 12 games of the month at Triple-A. Mack opened the campaign with Double-A but was eventually promoted to Triple-A. Through his first 47 games at the top level of the minor leagues, Mack has struggled at times, holding a .223/.291/.320 slash line with a 51:5 K:BB. However, it appears the 22-year-old is starting to find his footing. If the No. 8-ranked prospect in the system can continue to find his swing, he could earn a call to Miami in the second half of the season.
