    Ha-Seong Kim Mon Jun 9 1:00pm CT

Tampa Bay Rays shortstop Ha-Seong Kim (shoulder) started back-to-back games at designated hitter on his minor-league rehab assignment on May 28 and 29 and then started at second base on June 1. Kim made his first start at shortstop on June 5 and is expected to take most of the allotted 20 days on his rehab assignment to build up to regular work at the 6, according to MLB.com. The 29-year-old has yet to play in 2025 while recovering from surgery on his right shoulder to fix a torn labrum. He's currently on the 60-day injured list but could make his debut with the Rays in mid-to-late June, barring a setback. When Kim is finally ready to return to the big leagues, he's expected to be Tampa's regular shortstop. In his 10 rehab games with Triple-A Durham, he's gone 7-for-34 (.206) with two doubles, four RBI and two steals. Kim can provide modest speed numbers for fantasy managers in deep-mixed leagues.

Justin Verlander Mon Jun 9 12:40pm CT

San Francisco Giants right-hander Justin Verlander (pectoral) is expected to throw another simulated game on Wednesday at Coors Field in Colorado before the team's game against the Rockies, according to MLB.com. Verlander continues to recover from a strained right pectoral muscle that landed him on the 15-day injured list on May 22. Barring a setback, the 42-year-old three-time Cy Young winner is expected to rejoin the team's starting rotation in the middle of June. He tossed 35 to 40 pitches during his first simulated game this past Friday and should be expected to build on that workload this week. If Verlander avoids a setback on Wednesday, he could be cleared to come off the IL without going on a minor-league rehab assignment. The nine-time All-Star is no longer the dominant pitcher he once was and was 0-3 with a 4.33 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and weak 18.2% strikeout rate before his injury.

    Hak-Ju Lee Mon Jun 9 12:30pm CT

San Francisco Giants outfielder Jung Hoo Lee (back) sat out the last two games of the series against the Atlanta Braves on Saturday and Sunday after experiencing upper-back soreness. However, MLB.com reports that Lee could return for Tuesday's series opener in Colorado against the division-rival Rockies. Lee appeared as a pinch-hitter in Saturday's game, which was a sign that his injury wasn't all that serious. Fantasy managers should expect to have him back in the lineup this week in a great hitting environment at Coors Field. Daniel Johnson received two straight starts in center field for the Giants with Lee missing the last two games. When Lee does come back, he'll be returning to a .276/.330/.436 slash line with a .766 OPS, six home runs, 32 RBI, 35 runs and six stolen bases in 243 at-bats. The Japanese outfielder has gone 5-for-19 (.263) with three doubles, an RBI and a steal in seven games in June.

Frankie Montas Mon Jun 9 12:20pm CT

New York Mets right-hander Frankie Montas (lat) made his fourth minor-league rehab start on Sunday with Triple-A Syracuse and allowed three earned runs on four hits (two homers) while walking three and striking out two in 3 2/3 innings. He threw 43 of his 76 pitches for strikes. The 32-year-old veteran is on the 60-day injured list and hasn't pitched at all during the regular season after injuring his lat in spring training. The Mets are in no rush to bring Montas back, so fantasy managers should expect him to make a few more rehab starts before potentially returning to the starting rotation in late June or early July. In his four rehab starts, Montas has a 9.00 ERA and 2.00 WHIP with eight walks and nine K's in 12 innings. The Dominican hurler made just one appearance in 2023 due to injury and was up and down in 30 starts with the Reds and Brewers last year, posting a 4.84 ERA and 1.37 WHIP in 150 2/3 frames.

Noah Cameron Mon Jun 9 12:10pm CT

Kansas City Royals rookie left-hander Noah Cameron will remain in the team's starting rotation for at least one more turn and face off against the visiting New York Yankees at Kauffman Stadium on Tuesday. The Royals are going with a six-man rotation for the time being after left-hander Cole Ragans returns from a stint on the injured list recently. Cameron, 25, has been outstanding for KC in his first five MLB starts, allowing only three earned runs on 15 hits (two homers) while walking 10 and striking out 19 in 31 2/3 innings pitched. However, his lack of control and 3.64 FIP how that he's been pretty fortunate to get away with a 0.85 ERA to this point. The young southpaw will look to keep things rolling this week, but fantasy managers should consider better streaming options than Cameron against the first-place Yankees.

Brooks Lee Mon Jun 9 12:10pm CT

Minnesota Twins third baseman Brooks Lee went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in his team's 6-3 victory over the visiting Toronto Blue Jays. He also singled, drew a walk, and struck out. The 24-year-old went yard to lead off the bottom of the fourth inning and knot the game at 3-3 before teammate Christian Vazquez took Bowden Francis deep to go back-to-back and give the Twins their second and final lead of the contest. Lee extended his hit streak to ten games in this one, and has gone a cool .317 (13-for-41) over that stretch. He's notched just two extra-base hits over that time, but has driven in six runs and scored five of his own while chipping in one steal. The Cal Poly product is producing a better sample than he did in 2024, up to a .250/.291/.364 triple slash through 49 games.

Evan Carter Mon Jun 9 12:00pm CT

Texas Rangers outfielder Evan Carter went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Washington Nationals. The former second-round pick added a single and a double for his first three-hit game of the season. He put the Rangers up 2-0 in the top of the second, blasting a Trevor Williams fastball -- a 382-foot, two-run bomb -- over the right-field wall. It was the second time he's gone yard, and the first in nearly a month (May 10). Injuries have been an issue for Carter, but he flashed his upside down the stretch in 2023 ahead of the Rangers' World Series win. The 22-year-old hasn't regained that form, though all three of his hits on Sunday registered at greater than 90 MPH off the bat. That could be enough for him to start to heat up.

Ronny Mauricio Mon Jun 9 11:40am CT

New York Mets second baseman Ronny Mauricio went 2-for-3 in his team's 13-5 road win against the Colorado Rockies. The Mets' No. 9 prospect singled twice, walked twice, scored twice, and stole a base. Mauricio picked up a base knock and scored a run in the top of the second, then did so again in the third, adding a steal this time -- the second since his call-up. After two 0-for-4 efforts, he's picked up at least one hit in three straight games and back-to-back two-hit performances. The 24-year-old tore up Triple-A pitching during rehab from an ACL injury and will get a good bit of run with teammate Mark Vientos (hamstring) on the shelf. He's deserving of a roster spot in most formats.

    From RotoBaller

Kristian Campbell Mon Jun 9 11:20am CT

Boston Red Sox second baseman Kristian Campbell went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 11-7 win over the New York Yankees. He also singled and drew a walk. The rookie bashed his sixth homer of the season in the top of the fifth inning off Yankees' starter Carlos Rodon, scoring teammate Ceddanne Rafaela to tie the game at two runs apiece. Campbell had an abysmal May in which he hit .134 (11-for-82), but he's already up to six hits in June and has tied his long ball and RBI total of last month in only seven games. It's the first time he's picked up multiple hits in back-to-back outings since the end of April. He's up to a .233/.323/.364 triple slash with nine doubles, 20 RBI, and 23 runs scored in his inaugural big-league season (58 games).

    From RotoBaller

Cedric Mullins Mon Jun 9 9:30am CT

Baltimore Orioles outfielder Cedric Mullins (hamstring) took live at-bats against right-hander Brandon Young (shoulder) on Sunday in Aberdeen. Mullins is expected to return to the Orioles' lineup during the upcoming homestand if things continue to trend well, Orioles beat reporter Jake Rill reports. Mullins has been out of action since May 28, and the veteran outfielder resumed running last week. While Mullins has been out, Jorge Mateo has been handling center field duties for the Orioles. The Orioles also just activated Colton Cowser on June 2, so the outfield for the Orioles is getting closer to returning to full strength. Mullins is slashing .232/.324/.448 thus far this season with 10 home runs, 31 RBI, and eight stolen bases.

    From RotoBaller

Matt Chapman Mon Jun 9 9:10am CT

San Francisco Giants third baseman Matt Chapman (hand) underwent X-rays on his right hand, which came back negative, following Sunday's 4-3 win over Atlanta. He said he jammed his fingers backward when he dove back to the bag, Shayna Rubin, beat writer for the Giants, reports. This is good news for Chapman and his fantasy owners, as it sounds like he avoided a trip to the injured list. Chapman was picked off first base when he sustained this injury, and with the Giants having an off day on Monday, he will have until Tuesday to recover and try to be ready for their three-game series in Colorado. Chapman is slashing .243/.360/.452 on the season with 12 home runs and 30 RBI thus far in the 2025 season.

Max Scherzer Mon Jun 9 9:00am CT

Toronto Blue Jays right-hander Max Scherzer (thumb) was "good" during his 50 pitches over three innings in a simulated game in Dunedin on Sunday, Shi Davidi reports. The 40-year-old has been working his way back from a thumb injury that occurred on March 29. Thus far this season, Scherzer has only thrown three innings and has allowed two earned runs. The right-hander is expected to throw an additional side session in the coming days at the team's Player Development Complex (PDC) in Florida. Manager John Schneider said that the team will "go from there" after the session to determine next steps. This is positive news for the Blue Jays, as they currently sit at 35-30 and are right in the thick of the AL East race thus far in 2025. From a fantasy perspective, owners can stash him on their IL, but don't worry about dropping him if you need to make room for someone else.

    From RotoBaller

Shane McClanahan Mon Jun 9 8:50am CT

Tampa Bay Rays left-hander Shane McClanahan (triceps) threw a bullpen on Sunday and "all went well," according to Rays manager Kevin Cash. Cash also mentioned there is no timetable for McClanahan's return, but that imaging showed that everything is structurally in place and the left-hander is feeling good. McClanahan sustained this triceps injury in spring training, and it's likely he will still require a handful of bullpens, live BP sessions, and a few rehab starts. Outside of his seven innings in spring training this year, McClanahan has not pitched in live action since 2023, making holding onto him a bit difficult, considering his expected return date is late July or early August. If you have an injured list spot available, continue to hold on, as he could provide you with some upside in the last month and a half of the fantasy season.

    From RotoBaller

Spencer Arrighetti Mon Jun 9 8:30am CT

Spencer Arrighetti (thumb) played catch from 70 feet while traveling with the team during its weekend series against Cleveland, Brian McTaggart, an Astros beat reporter, reports. Arrighetti has made progress since breaking his thumb during batting practice on April 7 in Seattle. At this point, he is building up as if it were the start of Spring Training. As a result, Arrighetti will need to throw multiple bullpens, face live hitters, and likely require a handful of rehab starts before the Astros slide him back into the rotation. Fantasy managers who see him on their waiver wire may want to add him to their injured list spot if they have one available, as Arrighetti was a top sleeper coming into the 2025 season and could provide a lot of upside after the All-Star Break. So far through 9 2/3 innings pitched, he owns a 5.59 ERA.

Konnor Griffin Mon Jun 9 6:40am CT

Pittsburgh Pirates shortstop prospect Konnor Griffin is being promoted to High-A Greensboro. The Pirates drafted the 19-year-old with the ninth pick in last year's MLB Draft out of Jackson Prep School. Griffin made his professional debut with Low-A Bradenton at the start of the 2025 campaign. Through 50 games with Low-A, Griffin has held a stellar .338/.396/.536 slash line with 10 doubles, two triples, nine home runs, and 26 stolen bases. Over his last five games, Griffin has tallied at least two hits in each game and held an impressive .565/.600/.739 line over this stretch. The infielder is currently ranked as the No. 2-best prospect in the Pittsburgh system and the No. 37-overall prospect in the sport on MLB.com. If he continues to swing a hot bat at High-A, he could earn a brief taste of Double-A in the final months of the season.

Samuel Basallo Mon Jun 9 6:20am CT

Baltimore Orioles catching prospect Samuel Basallo tallied a hit in each game of the doubleheader on Sunday to extend his hitting streak to five games. During the first contest, Basallo went 2-for-3 with a home run and a walk. This was his fourth home run of this five-game hitting streak. Before this recent surge at the plate, the top catching prospect in baseball held a low .091 AVG over his last seven games. Through 39 games with Triple-A Norfolk this season, Basallo has continued to show high power upside, launching 13 long balls while posting a .252/.365/.595 line. During this stretch, he has tallied 26 RBI while holding a 39:23 K:BB. During his first taste of Triple-A last season, Basallo posted a modest .222/.267/.370 line. Given his steady progress, he should be in the mix to reach the majors in the coming weeks and is worth stashing in deeper redraft formats.

Chandler Simpson Mon Jun 9 6:10am CT

Tampa Bay Rays outfield prospect Chandler Simpson went 5-for-5 with a run, an RBI, and a stolen base during their contest against Triple-A Jacksonville on Sunday. This was Williams' third-straight game tallying at least one hit and second-straight game tallying at least one stolen base. Since returning to Triple-A on June 3, Simpson has been very productive at the plate, holding a .391 AVG with three stolen bases across five games. Simpson made his MLB debut earlier this season and was quite productive during his first taste of the majors, posting a .285/.315/.317 line with 19 stolen bases across 35 games. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his production with Triple-A, as he should be in the mix to return to the majors soon. Once he gets the call, he is worth adding in all category leagues given his elite speed upside.

    From RotoBaller

Chase Burns Mon Jun 9 6:00am CT

The Cincinnati Reds are promoting right-handed pitching prospect Chase Burns to Triple-A. Burns is considered the No. 11-ranked prospect in the sport on MLB.com and one of the top pitching prospects. The Reds selected the 22-year-old with the second pick in last year's draft out of Wake Forest. Burns made his professional debut at the start of the season with High-A Dayton. Across 11 2/3 innings of work, Burns struck out an impressive 20 batters while allowing just five walks. He then earned the call to Double-A, where he continued to dominate. In 42 innings of work with Double-A Chattanooga, Burns posted a 1.29 ERA with a 0.71 WHIP. During this stint, he tallied 55 strikeouts while allowing just five free passes. Burns is quickly approaching his MLB debut and may only need a few starts at Triple-A to get the call. He is worth stashing in all 12+ team leagues going forward.

    From RotoBaller

Carson Williams Mon Jun 9 6:00am CT

Tampa Bay Rays shortstop prospect Carson Williams went 4-for-5 with two home runs and seven RBI during their contest against Triple-A Jacksonville on Sunday. Over his last six contests, Williams has posted a .375/.442/.792 slash line with a double and three round-trippers. The top prospect in the Tampa Bay system was able to open the campaign by making his Triple-A debut. Through his first 57 games with Durham, Williams has held a modest .197/.296/.394 line. However, it appears the infielder is beginning to turn the corner, especially from a power perspective. Last summer, Williams spent his entire season with Double-A Montgomery and held a .256/.352/.469 line with 20 doubles and 20 long balls. Williams could contend for his MLB debut in the second half if he continues to make strides at the plate.

    From RotoBaller

Jacob Misiorowski Mon Jun 9 5:50am CT

Milwaukee Brewers starting pitching prospect Jacob Misiorowski tossed five shutout innings in his last start on June 7 against Triple-A Gwinnett. In this outing, Misiorowski allowed just two hits, allowed three walks, and struck out seven batters. This was a much-needed bounce-back outing for Misiorowski, as he allowed five runs with six walks in his previous outing. Over his last 44 2/3 innings, the hard-throwing right-hander has been one of the most dominant arms at the Triple-A level, holding a 1.81 ERA with a stellar 1.05 WHIP. During this stretch, Misiorowski has struck out 59 batters and served up 19 walks. During this stretch, he only allowed more than one run in a single outing once. Given his impressive production at Triple-A, Misiorowski is nearing his MLB debut and should be viewed as a strong stash option in all standard formats.
