Pittsburgh Pirates catcher Joey Bart is not in his team's lineup for their Monday matchup against the Kansas City Royals. Bart was also on the bench for Pittsburgh on Sunday and the team has not announced an injury, so it appears as though he may be losing playing time behind the dish. Bart had a breakout 2024 with Pittsburgh but has struggled so far this season, slashing .234/.335/.288 with just one home run in 212 plate appearances. Youngster Henry Davis takes his place at catcher for Pittsburgh on Monday night.
From RotoBaller
Houston Astros outfielder Jake Meyers (calf) will miss his team's Monday matchup against the Cleveland Guardians. Meyers was pulled in the sixth inning of Houston's 5-1 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday with calf tightness. Meyers has been a surprise source of batting average and speed in 2025, hitting .308 with 14 stolen bases and 47 runs scored in 322 plate appearances. He's cut his strikeout rate to a career-best 18%, but he's also posted the second-worst ISO (.097) of his career and hit just three home runs. Kennedy Corona will take his spot in center field on Monday night.
From RotoBaller
Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Oneil Cruz is not in his team's lineup for their Monday matchup against the Kansas City Royals and left-handed starter Noah Cameron. In 343 plate appearances so far this season, Cruz has hit .203 with 15 home runs, 47 runs scored, 35 RBI, and 28 stolen bases. His numbers are significantly worse against left-handed pitching, as he's hit .117 with just one home run and 35 strikeouts in 89 plate appearances. The uber-talented Cruz continues to provide fantasy value via home runs and stolen bases, but his 32.9% strikeout rate holds down his upside. Alexander Canario will take his place in center field on Monday against Kansas City.

Tampa Bay Rays infielders Brandon Lowe (side) and Ha-Seong Kim (calf) are both absent from their team's lineup against the Detroit Tigers on Monday. This will be Kim's third consecutive missed game after being activated from the injured list for his 2025 debut on Friday. Lowe was pulled early from Tampa Bay's 7-5 victory on Sunday over the Minnesota Twins. He's been one of the Rays' most valuable hitters so far, slashing .272/.324/.487 with 19 home runs, 50 RBI, and 50 runs scored in 343 plate appearances. Neither player has been placed on the injured list yet, so the team is clearly hoping that a day or two of rest will allow each to rejoin the lineup.
From RotoBaller
Milwaukee Brewers first baseman Rhys Hoskins (thumb) was placed on the 10-day injured list with a sprained left thumb, per a team announcement. Hoskins injured the thumb in a collision at first base on Saturday and has since been diagnosed with a grade two sprain, so this announcement comes as no surprise. Hoskins has been a steady contributor for Milwaukee this season, slashing .242/,340/.428 with 12 home runs and 42 RBI in 318 plate appearances. Due to the severity of the sprain, this injury figures to keep him out of action for a considerable stretch of time. Mid-season trade acquisition Andrew Vaughn was called up as the corresponding move, and Vaughn looks to have an extended runway at first base for the Brewers in Hoskins' absence.
From RotoBaller
Boston Red Sox infielder Marcelo Mayer is not in his team's starting lineup for their Monday matchup against the Colorado Rockies and left-handed starter Austin Gomber. Mayer has struggled in his rookie season overall, hitting .219 with a 31.1% strikeout rate across 103 plate appearances. The lefty-swinger has been even worse against same-handed pitching, hitting .182 with just one extra-base hit, albeit in a limited 22-plate appearance sample. Right-handed hitting Nate Eaton will take Mayer's regular spot at third base on Monday night.
From RotoBaller
Boston Red Sox outfielder Jarren Duran is not in his team's starting lineup for their Monday matchup against the Colorado Rockies and left-handed starter Austin Gomber. It's been a struggle this year for the lefty-swinging Duran against same-handed pitching. He's batting .216 with just one home run and 41 strikeouts in 140 plate appearances versus lefties so far this season. Rob Refsnyder will play left field on Monday against Colorado in his place. Fantasy managers should closely monitor whether Duran continues to lose playing time against lefty starters, as there are plenty of contenders for at-bats in Boston's outfield mix.
From RotoBaller
Houston Astros first baseman Christian Walker has been placed on the paternity list, according to MLB.com's Brian McTaggart. Walker will miss a maximum of three days, which would encompass Houston's Monday-Wednesday series at home against the Cleveland Guardians. Outfielder Kennedy Corona has been recalled from Triple-A Sugar Land as the corresponding move. Walker is having a down year in his first season with the Astros, posting a .231/.291/.381 slash with 12 home runs, 45 RBI, and 36 runs scored in 364 plate appearances. He was off to a torrid start in July, hitting .429 with two homers and eight RBI across his first 29 plate appearances of the month. The Astros don't have an obvious fill-in at first base on their active roster. Isaac Paredes, Mauricio Dubon and Victor Caratini all have experience at the position and could be called upon if Houston shakes up their regular starting lineup to cover for Walker.

Seattle Mariners right fielder Victor Robles (shoulder) has entered the strength-building phase of his rehab as he works his way back from a left shoulder dislocation suffered on April 7. Robles began this stage in early June, with the program expected to last approximately six weeks before he resumes baseball activities. The 28-year-old has avoided setbacks, but his return timeline has shifted toward the end of the regular season due to the severity of the injury. He played in just 10 games before going down, slashing .273/.283/.341 with three stolen bases. Robles could be a sneaky speed boost for fantasy managers during the playoffs. Keep him in mind as a potential late-season waiver wire stash.

The St. Louis Cardinals are reportedly considering right-hander Michael McGreevy for a spot in the rotation following Erick Fedde's third consecutive rough outing, this time falling to the Chicago Cubs 11-0 on Sunday. Fedde fell to (3-9) on the season. Internal discussions suggest McGreevy could start Saturday's game against the Atlanta Braves. McGreevy has started three of his four major league appearances, compiling a (1-1) record with a 4.22 ERA and 16 strikeouts over 21 1/3 innings. He's also holding opposing hitters to a .232 average, a promising stat for fantasy managers in need of pitching help. With a potential opportunity against a tough Atlanta lineup, McGreevy is worth monitoring and could be a speculative add in deeper mixed leagues or NL-only formats.
From RotoBaller
Colorado Rockies right-hander Chase Dollander was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque on Monday following a rocky stretch at the big-league level. Dollander has struggled mightily in his debut season, posting a 6.68 ERA and 1.56 WHIP, walking batters at an alarming 10.7% clip. Once viewed as a potential ace-in-the-making, Dollander has failed to find consistency. The Rockies hope a little more seasoning will help him refine his command and rebuild his confidence. In a corresponding move, right-hander Bradley Blalock was recalled from Triple-A and will take Dollander's place in the rotation. Blalock and his 12.94 ERA should be avoided in all formats. Fantasy managers in dynasty leagues should remain patient with Dollander, but redraft owners can safely move on for now.
From RotoBaller
Colorado Rockies shortstop/outfielder Tyler Freeman (hamstring) returns to the lineup Monday against the Red Sox, starting in right field and batting leadoff. Freeman sat out Sunday's series finale against the White Sox to rest a minor hamstring issue but is back in action and fully healthy. Freeman has been on fire over the past 30 days, batting .370 and providing steady production across multiple categories. With eligibility at both shortstop and outfield, he's a versatile and underrated fantasy asset. Rostered in just 15% of Yahoo leagues, Freeman offers batting average, runs, and steals. He's an under-the-radar pickup for managers needing a spark can look to add him in 12-plus team leagues.

Chicago Cubs outfield prospect Owen Caissie went 3-for-5 on Sunday for Triple-A Iowa, with a walk, a double, and two runs scored. The kid has caught fire recently, now with four consecutive multi-hit performances, going 10-for-17 (.588) with two doubles, four home runs, and a 3:2 BB:K. The Cubs' top-ranked prospect is now slashing .280/.388/.556 on the season. Earlier this season, the left-handed slugger was striking out at an alarming rate, but he's been able to get that under control recently, and with a 14.0 percent walk rate in 2025, he's still been able to find a way on base even when he's not been hitting. The major league roster's outfield is crowded at the moment, with no path to playing time, but were one of the regulars to go down with an injury, Caissie would likely be first in line to get the call. Fantasy managers in need of some power in very deep and NL-only leagues could consider stashing the former second-round draft pick, as when he gets the call, he'll be batting in one of the better run-producing lineups in the majors.
From RotoBaller
Los Angeles Dodgers outfield prospect Josue De Paula went 2-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base on Sunday for High-A Great Lakes. The Dodgers' top-ranked prospect has hit safely in nine of his last 11 games, now hitting .269 on the year with a .433 slugging percentage and a hefty .410 on-base percentage thanks to an impressive 19.0 percent walk rate. With 10 home runs and 26 stolen bases, he could be in line for a move to Double-A in the second half. The 20-year-old has the tools to make an impact when he gets to the majors, potentially as early as next year, so he's a name for dynasty managers to continue to track.
From RotoBaller
Chicago Cubs catching prospect Moises Ballesteros went 3-for-6, with all three hits going for singles and he scored a run on Sunday for Triple-A Iowa. The Cubs' second-ranked prospect continues to make his case for the major league roster, now slashing .333/.390/.498 through 71 games at Iowa this season. The diminutive backstop is striking out at just a 13.1 percent clip, with a .393 wOBA and 128 wRC+. He wasn't able to garner regular at-bats during his brief stint in the majors earlier this year, but if he can get the call and receive regular at-bats, the 21-year-old would be rosterable in deep NL-only and two catcher leagues, but has the upside to have a wider appeal, especially if he were to obtain first base eligibility at some point.
From RotoBaller
Atlanta Braves catcher Sean Murphy went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in his team's 2-1 loss to the visiting Baltimore Orioles. He added a double. The 30-year-old supplied his team's only run in the loss -- a ninth-inning blast off Orioles reliever Seranthony Dominguez that traveled 411 feet to straight-away center field. Murphy is up to 13 homers on the season now, and four in his last seven appearances. He's barreled the ball exceptionally in 2025 (16.5%), but carries an unappealing .229 xBA and ghastly 32% strikeout rate. Fellow backstop Drake Baldwin had garnered more consistent playing time than Murphy in June, but that has shifted slightly since the end of the month. Baldwin is far and away the better hitter, but the veteran is hot right now.
From RotoBaller
Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Jackson Chourio went 1-for-3 with a home run and three RBI in his team's 3-1 win against the hosting Miami Marlins. The 21-year-old was the Brew Crew's only offense on Sunday -- blasting a two-run jack (No. 15) in the top of the third inning, and knocking in another run on a sac fly in the eighth. Chourio has picked it up since the calendar turned to July, sporting a .364/.400/.727 triple slash through 22 at-bats in the month. He's well on his way to a second consecutive 20/20 campaign and could realistically challenge 30/30 by season's end. The speedy center-fielder is much improved against southpaws in his second campaign (.364) but has struggled against right-handers (.223).
From RotoBaller
The Tampa Bay Rays report that left-handed pitcher Mason Montgomery has been sent down to Triple-A. In a corresponding move, right-handed pitcher Mason Englert was recalled to the big-league squad. Montgomery pitched well in 2024 when first called upon, but compiled an ugly 5.74 ERA and 1.77 WHIP through 40 appearances (31 1/3 innings) in 2025 despite good swing-and-miss stuff. He'll get some time to work things out in the lower levels. Englert pitched for Tampa Bay earlier this season, but hasn't since mid-June. He performed much better in the minors (1.23 ERA) this year than he did in the majors (4.84), so maybe his demotion was a productive one. He'll slot into the former's vacated spot in the bullpen.
From RotoBaller
New York Yankees catcher Austin Wells went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 6-4 win against the New York Mets. He added another RBI on a fielder's choice and also singled. The Yankees avoided the sweep against their cross-town rivals, and Wells was a big part of it -- giving the Yanks their first lead in the third with his thirteenth long ball of the season. That marks back-to-back games in which the 25-year-old has left the yard, and he's started off the month nicely, batting .333 (4-for-12). Wells' .220 xBA is right in line with his average on the season, but it's worth noting that he's making better quality of contact this year and more contact when he swings in general (82.9% Zone Contact).
From RotoBaller
Boston Red Sox outfielder Ceddanne Rafaela went 3-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 6-4 road win over the Washington Nationals. He also singled, doubled, scored twice, and was caught stealing. Rafaela notched his second-straight 20-double season with a two-bagger in the seventh, and would score a few batters later to make it 5-2 Red Sox. Then, in the ninth, he added a run of insurance with a solo shot off Nats' reliever Andrew Chafin -- his eleventh of the campaign -- to add a run of insurance. The Curacao native has been hot in recent days, picking up at least one hit in eight of his last nine appearances with four multi-hit performances in that time.
