St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Lars Nootbaar will not be in the team's lineup when they host the Detroit Tigers on Wednesday. It's a routine day off for the California native, who has appeared in all but two contests this season. Brendan Donovan will man left field in his place, with Nolan Gorman covering second base and shortstop Masyn Winn batting leadoff. Nootbaar has been solid in 2025, slashing .251/.356/.414 with seven home runs, ten doubles, 31 runs scored, 25 RBI, and four steals. At this pace, he has an excellent chance to set career-highs across the board and has once again cut his strikeout rate (16.4%). Not much has changed regarding quality contact for him, but an increased launch angle could explain his uptick in power.

Per the team, the Baltimore Orioles have activated pitcher Andrew Kittredge (knee) from the 15-day injured list. To make room for him on the roster, pitcher Chayce McDermott was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk. The 35-year-old underwent arthroscopic knee surgery back in spring training, but he's finally ready to rejoin the big-league club. Kittredge pitched well over his last five appearances with the Tides in Triple-A, yielding four hits and two walks while striking out four across five innings. It may take him some time to work back up to it, but the veteran should slot back into his role as a late-inning, high-leverage bullpen piece for Baltimore.

Tampa Bay Rays third baseman Junior Caminero will take a seat on Wednesday when his team hosts the visiting Houston Astros. Teammate Curtis Mead is batting eighth and handling the hot corner against the Astros' Hunter Brown in his stead. It looks to be a regular day off for the 21-year-old, but it's the second time in five outings he'll ride the pine against a righty. Caminero has been in a bit of a cold spell in May, batting .180 (11-for-65) in the month with two home runs, two runs scored, and a 2:12 K:BB ratio. On the bright side, the righty slugger has been better statistically than he was over a similar sample size last season, aside from his average (.230). He isn't likely to be in danger of losing his spot in the lineup at this time.

Boston Red Sox veteran Aroldis Chapman secured his eighth save of the season Tuesday night, capping a 2-0 shutout win for the Red Sox. The 37-year-old flamethrower has shown no signs of slowing down in his 16th season. His average fastball velocity of 99.2 mph ranks in the 99th percentile across Major League Baseball. Chapman now holds a 1.89 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, and 26 strikeouts over 19 innings. He also owns a (3-2) record, one hold, and has converted all eight save opportunities. Chapman will aim to stay sharp as the Red Sox push for position in the competitive American League East.
From RotoBaller
New York Yankees reliever Luke Weaver recorded his sixth save of the season in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Texas Rangers. The 31-year-old has been nearly untouchable this season, allowing just one run across 20 2/3 innings of work. Weaver owns a dominant 0.44 ERA, 0.58 WHIP and has tallied 22 strikeouts. He is 6-for-7 in save opportunities and has also added six holds. His expected batting average of .157 ranks in the 100th percentile across Major League Baseball. Weaver and the Yankees will look to maintain their strong start as the midseason push continues.
From RotoBaller
Pittsburgh Pirates reliever David Bednar shut the door Tuesday night, preserving a 1-0 win over the Cincinnati Reds for his fourth save in as many chances. After allowing a leadoff single to Reds outfielder TJ Friedl, Bednar induced a double play and ended the game with a flyout off the bat of shortstop Elly De La Cruz. Despite a strong April, the 30-year-old has a 4.91 ERA in May. On the season, he holds an (0-4) record with a 5.02 ERA, 1.47 WHIP, four saves, three holds, and 21 strikeouts across 14 1/3 innings. Bednar will look to regain consistency for a struggling Pirates team heading into June.
From RotoBaller
Washington Nationals closer Kyle Finnegan picked up his 15th save of the season in Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Braves, tying him for the MLB lead. The 33-year-old worked a perfect inning, retiring Matt Olson, Sean Murphy, and Ozzie Albies in order. He now holds a 2.55 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, and 17 strikeouts in 17 2/3 innings of work. The right-hander is 15-for-17 in save opportunities with one loss on the year. Finnegan is putting together the best season of his career and remains a steady late-inning presence for the Nationals.
From RotoBaller
Chicago Cubs outfielder Kyle Tucker sparked the offense in Tuesday night's 14-1 rout of the Miami Marlins. The 28-year-old went 3-for-4 with a home run and an additional run scored in Tuesday's victory. Tucker kicked off the scoring with a 393-foot solo home run in the first inning his 11th of the season. He was one of seven Cubs hitters with multiple hits in the win. Tucker has now raised his OPS to .913 and is slashing .268/.381/.532 through 49 games with Chicago. The Cubs will look to take the series Wednesday in the afternoon rubber match.
From RotoBaller
Cincinnati Reds right-handed pitching prospect Chase Burns continued his impressive run at Double-A on Tuesday evening. In his outing against Double-A Rocket City, the Wake Forest product logged five innings of one-run ball en route to picking up the victory. He allowed just two hits and one free pass. He struck out seven. Since moving up to Double-A, the former second overall pick from last year's MLB Draft has held a stellar 1.88 ERA with a 0.88 WHIP. He has struck out 35 batters in just 24 innings of work and flashed near-perfect control, allowing just three walks. He began his campaign at High-A Dayton, where he logged 11 2/3 innings to the tune of a 3.09 ERA and a 0.86 WHIP. Given his impressive start to the season, Burns remains in play for a second-half MLB debut.
From RotoBaller
Milwaukee Brewers first baseman Rhys Hoskins had a productive game in his team's 5-2 win over the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday. Hoskins went 2-for-4 with a double, a solo homer, and two runs scored to help lead his team to the win. The veteran first baseman's homer came off Baltimore closer Felix Bautista in the eighth inning, giving the Brewers a 4-2 lead. Hoskins is enjoying a solid season in 2025, hitting .297 with six homers, 16 runs, 26 RBI, and two steals across 145 at-bats. He's on a tear at the plate lately, hitting .409 with two homers and seven RBI over his past seven games.
From RotoBaller
Los Angeles Angels third baseman Yoan Moncada had a big game in his team's 7-5 win over the Athletics on Tuesday. Moncada went 2-for-5 with a three-run homer to help power his team to the win. The veteran infielder's homer was a big one as it tied the game at 4-4 in the fifth inning. He absolutely crushed the ball as it traveled 439 feet with an exit velocity of 108.7 MPH. Moncada is off to a slow start with his new team, hitting .229 with four homers, 12 runs, and 16 RBI over 70 at-bats, although he missed almost a month of the season with a thumb sprain. He will look to stay hot on Wednesday.
From RotoBaller
Philadelphia Phillies DH Kyle Schwarber had a productive game in his team's 7-4 win over the Colorado Rockies on Tuesday. Schwarber went 1-for-4 with a solo homer, a walk, and two runs scored in the winning effort. The veteran slugger's homer gave the Phillies an insurance run in the seventh inning, pushing their lead to 5-1. Schwarber is now hitting .257 with 17 homers, 35 runs, 37 RBI, and four steals across 175 at-bats this season. He is hitting just .192 over his past seven games, but fantasy gamers need to keep him in those starting lineups for his power upside alone.
From RotoBaller
Seattle Mariners outfielder Randy Arozarena finished 0-for-4 with a pair of strikeouts in Tuesday's 1-0 loss to the Chicago White Sox. The White Sox used five pitchers to combine for the shutout victory over the Mariners. It was the second straight 0-for-4 outing for Arozarena, who has nevertheless posted quality numbers in 2025. The 30-year-old has amassed 195 plate appearances and batted .230/.364/.404 with six home runs and nine stolen bases, putting him on track for a fifth consecutive 20-20 campaign. He and the Mariners have a tough matchup Wednesday against White Sox right-hander Shane Smith, owner of a stellar 2.05 ERA across 48 1/3 innings.
From RotoBaller
Athletics first baseman Nick Kurtz had a productive game in a 7-5 loss to the Los Angeles Angels on Tuesday. Kurtz went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer in the losing effort. The rookie's homer came in the fourth inning, giving the Athletics a 4-1 lead. Kurtz, the team's 2024 first-round draft pick, is now hitting .222 with two homers, seven runs, and eight RBI over 81 at-bats in his first taste of the big leagues. Kurtz is still batting near the bottom of the A's lineup, but he remains a bat worth monitoring in fantasy.
From RotoBaller
Los Angeles Angels catcher Logan O'Hoppe had a big night in his team's 7-5 win over the Athletics on Tuesday. O'Hoppe went 2-for-5 with a homer and two RBI in the win. The veteran slugger's solo homer came in the fourth inning, tying the game at 1-1. He later came back with a clutch RBI single in the fifth inning to give the Angels a 5-4 lead. O'Hoppe is enjoying a productive start to the season, hitting .264 with 11 homers, 15 runs, and 25 RBI over 144 at-bats. The veteran is establishing himself as a legitimate power threat from the catcher position in fantasy.
From RotoBaller
Baltimore Orioles shortstop Gunnar Henderson finished 1-for-4 and added his fourth stolen base of the season in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers. Henderson posted poor numbers in April as he worked back from an intercostal strain, but the 2024 American League MVP candidate has enjoyed a rebound this month. The 23-year-old has hit safely in 13 of 17 contests in May, slashing .288/.347/.530. That's similar to Henderson's line from last season, when he slashed .281/.364/.529, mashed 37 home runs, and swiped 21 bases. The 23-year-old will look to continue his solid May in Wednesday's matchup versus Brewers right-hander Chad Patrick.
From RotoBaller
Colorado Rockies outfielder Brenton Doyle provided a bright spot for the Rockies in Tuesday's 7-4 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies. The 27-year-old went 1-for-2 with a double, two walks, two runs scored, and a stolen base. Doyle had endured a miserable Mup until Tuesday, as he entered the game on a 10-for-64 skid this month. Overall, Doyle has produced a subpar .208/.265/.329 line with four home runs and five steals across 162 plate appearances this season. That's not what fantasy managers had in mind on the heels of Doyle's breakout 2024, in which he slashed .260/.317/.446 with 23 HRs and 30 SBs. However, there are some positive signs: Doyle's strikeout rate sits at a career-best 24.1% (down from 35% in 2023 and 25.4% last year), while his .250 BABIP and .321 xwOBA indicate he has been a victim of poor fortune. Still seeking his first home run of May, Doyle will take on Phillies right-hander Taijuan Walker on Wednesday.
From RotoBaller
Kansas City Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. finished 1-for-4 with an RBI single and a pair of strikeouts in the team's 3-2 loss to the San Francisco Giants on Tuesday. It's the first RBI since May 12 for Witt, who has slumped of late. Witt owned a season-high .920 OPS on May 10, but he has gone a meager 7-for-35 with eight strikeouts and two walks in nine games since then. While the two-time 30-home run hitter is also amid a 12-game HR drought, there's no reason to fret. Witt's still slashing a superb .301/.367/.503 through 218 plate appearances. Although Giants catcher Patrick Bailey threw him out on an attempted steal Tuesday, he still ranks near the top of the majors with 16 SBs. He will look to bust out of his mini-slump in Wednesday's game against Giants ace Logan Webb.
From RotoBaller
Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Yoshinobu Yamamoto tossed a gem in a 4-3 win in 10 innings over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday. Yamamoto threw seven innings of scoreless ball while allowing just one hit, walking two, and striking out nine. He had to settle for a no-decision, however, as the Los Angeles bullpen was not able to hold onto a 1-0 lead after he departed. Yamamoto has been dominant over 10 starts this season, posting a 5-3 record, 1.86 ERA, 0.91 WHIP, and 68 strikeouts over 58 innings of work. With a road date against the Cleveland Guardians up next for the ace, Yamamoto remains a must-start in fantasy whenever he takes the mound.
From RotoBaller
Athletics catcher Shea Langeliers hit his ninth homer of the season in a 7-5 loss to the Los Angeles Angels on Tuesday. Langeliers ultimately went 2-for-4 with the solo homer and two runs scored in the loss. The veteran catcher has shown excellent power this season, posting a .256 average, six doubles, nine homers, 21 runs, 25 RBI, and three steals across 160 at-bats. With two straight 20-homer seasons under his belt, Langeliers has established himself as a high-end fantasy catcher moving forward.
