Zyhir Hope Wed Jul 30 6:20am CT

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Zyhir Hope went 3-for-5 with a double and a home run during their contest against High-A Fort Wayne on Tuesday evening. This was Hope's second-straight game going deep and his third home run over his last four contests. Since July 22 (six games), Hope has only gone hitless once, and posted an impressive .417/.517/.833 slash line with six RBI, 10 runs, two stolen bases, and a 7:5 K:BB. Overall, the 20-year-old has looked very impressive during his first look at High-A this season. Across 89 total games, Hope has posted an elite .296/.399/.453 slash line with 22 doubles, three triples, 12 home runs, and 15 stolen bases. He is currently ranked as the No. 36 overall prospect on MLB.com and is quickly ascending prospect boards.

Sal Stewart Wed Jul 30 6:10am CT

Cincinnati Reds third base prospect Sal Stewart has continued to showcase his upside, working during his first taste of Triple-A. On Tuesday evening, Stewart went 2-for-4 with a home run and a double. Since joining Triple-A on July 18, the infielder has gone deep four times and added two doubles across a 10-game stint. During this stretch, Stewart has held a .300/.300/.650 slash line. Earlier in the season, the No. 51-ranked prospect in the sport on MLB.com held a stellar .306/.377/.473 slash line with 19 doubles, 10 home runs, and 13 stolen bases across an 80-game stint. Fantasy managers should continue to closely monitor Stewart's progression at Triple-A as he will likely be in the mix to join the MLB roster in the second half of the season.

Harry Ford Wed Jul 30 6:00am CT

Seattle Mariners catching prospect Harry Ford went 2-for-3 with a home run during their contest against Triple-A Sugar Land on Tuesday evening. This outing also extended his current hitting streak to seven games. During this stretch, the backstop has posted an impressive .393/.500/.643 slash line with one double, two home runs, two stolen bases, and a 7:4 K:BB. Overall, the former 12th overall pick in the 2021 MLB Draft has looked quite impressive during his first taste of Triple-A ball. Through 77 games, Ford has posted a .299/.416/.460 slash line with 15 doubles, 11 home runs, six stolen bases, and a 64:55 K:BB. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his production as he could be in the mix to make his MLB debut later this season. However, with Cal Raleigh seeing the majority of starts on the MLB level, Ford's upside would likely be very limited.

Moises Ballesteros Wed Jul 30 5:50am CT

The Chicago Cubs are expected to promote top catching prospect Moises Ballesteros to the MLB roster. Ballesteros earned his first taste of the major leagues earlier this season but only appeared in five games. However, with left fielder Ian Happ (shin) suffering an injury during their contest against the Milwaukee Brewers on Tuesday evening, the 21-year-old could have a clear path to consistent playing time during his second stint. Fantasy managers should expect Seiya Suzuki to shift from the DH spot to left field, which will open a position for Ballesteros. Ballesteros could also see time behind the dish alongside Carson Kelly and Reese McGuire. At Triple-A this season, Ballesteros has been one of the most dominant hitters, boasting a .332/.393/.496 slash line with nine home runs. He is worth adding in all two-catcher leagues.

Christian Moore Wed Jul 30 5:40am CT

Los Angeles Angels second base prospect Christian Moore (thumb) is slated to begin a rehab assignment with Low-A Inland on Wednesday. The eighth overall pick in last year's MLB Draft has been sidelined since the start of the month due to a sprained thumb. Last week, there were reports that Moore was able to take part in baseball activities, and now it appears he is slated to take the next step in his recovery plan. Given the time he missed, fantasy managers should expect him to need at least a week of action during his rehab assignment. Before his injury, Moore held a .189/.302/.396 slash line with three home runs through his first 18 games in the major leagues. The 22-year-old is worth monitoring as he should have an everyday role once he returns from the IL.

Coby Mayo Wed Jul 30 5:40am CT

According to Andy Kostka of The Baltimore Banner, Orioles third baseman Coby Mayo avoided a serious injury during the second half of their doubleheader against the Toronto Blue Jays on Tuesday evening. While covering first base, Mayo stretched to make a catch and twisted his leg. However, he was able to remain in the game and did not show any signs that this injury limited him later in the game. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status in case the Orioles opt to give him time off later in the week. The former top prospect has enjoyed a productive week at the plate, posting a .350/.500/.750 slash line with two doubles and two home runs over his last eight games. The 23-year-old could have an even larger role in the back half of the season if the Orioles were to trade corner infielders like Ryan O'Hearn and Ramon Urias at the deadline.

Andrew Vaughn Wed Jul 30 2:41am CT

Brewers' 1B Andrew Vaughn had six RBIs going 3-for-4 with a home run in a 9-3 win over the Cubs on Tuesday, Jul. 29.

Nick Lodolo Wed Jul 30 1:47am CT

Reds' SP Nick Lodolo recorded 11 strikeouts in 5.1 innings in a 5-4 loss to the Dodgers on Tuesday, Jul. 29.

Brooks Lee Wed Jul 30 1:34am CT

Minnesota's SS Brooks Lee had five RBIs going 3-for-4 with two home runs in a 8-5 loss to the Red Sox on Tuesday, Jul. 29.

Zac Veen Wed Jul 30 12:00am CT

Colorado Rockies outfield prospect Zac Veen went 1-for-4 with a home run, two RBI, and an additional run scored in a 12-2 win over Triple-A Sacramento. Veen has been productive all season a Triple-A, slashing .309/.377/.491 with six homers and 10 stolen bases in 259 plate appearances. He made his MLB debut in early April, but was unable to stick with the big league club as he was just 4-for-34 with 14 strikeouts during his brief stint. He has an interesting power and speed skillset, although the power is still a question, as his 109.2 MPH MaxEV doesn't signal a big ceiling in that department. But he has hit the ball consistently hard at Triple-A this season with a 49.4 percent hard-hit rate, and would have some appeal in deep and NL-only leagues if he were to return to the majors at some point.

Luis Robert Wed Jul 30 12:00am CT

MLB.com's Mark Feinsand reported Tuesday that the New York Mets have emerged as "the frontrunner" in trade talks for Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. The Padres and Phillies are among other teams with supposed interest in the 27-year-old. Robert Jr. struggled last season and has continued to do so this season, although he is a former All-Star and has stepped up his offensive production lately. Feinsand reported that second baseman Luisangel Acuna has been discussed as a potential part of a Mets-White Sox deal. Any change of scenery would be beneficial for Robert Jr. from a fantasy perspective, especially to a strong lineup like the Mets. For Acuna, the lineup would be a clear downgrade, but it would potentially present an opportunity for more routine playing time.

Tyler Locklear Tue Jul 29 11:50pm CT

Seattle Mariners first base prospect Tyler Locklear was pulled from Triple-A Tacoma's game on Tuesday night and is expected to join the big-league roster in Sacramento on Wednesday, according to Daniel Kramer of MLB.com. A corresponding move will be made on Wednesday. With Seattle's recent acquisition of Josh Naylor, Locklear will likely be limited to a part-time role as a power bat off the bench. The 24-year-old is coming off a scorching week at Triple-A, which included a stretch when he went 9-for-9 with four homers, nine RBI, and a 1.745 OPS. That earned him the Pacific Coast League Player of the Week honors. It's been a prolonged stretch of strong production for the slugging first baseman, as he leads Triple-A with 16 homers and 56 RBI and is second in OPS at 1.140 since the start of June. He likely won't play enough to be relevant in fantasy, except for deep AL-only formats.

Rhys Hoskins Tue Jul 29 11:50pm CT

The Milwaukee Brewers said Tuesday that they are hoping for first baseman Rhys Hoskins (thumb) to be ready to begin a rehab assignment in late August as he recovers from a sprained left thumb, per MLB.com's Adam McCalvy. Hoskins was placed on the injured list at the beginning of July. The 32-year-old was slashing .242/.340/.428 with 12 home runs and 42 RBI before the injury. While this timeline could put him back with the Brewers for the playoffs, it would leave little time for him to contribute to fantasy this season. Fantasy managers still looking for replacement production could turn to Andrew Vaughn, who is just 11 percent rostered and has been crushing the ball since joining the Brewers.

    From RotoBaller

Ian Happ Tue Jul 29 11:40pm CT

Chicago Cubs outfielder Ian Happ (shin) exited Tuesday's 9-3 loss to the Brewers in the eighth inning after fouling a ball off his left shin. X-rays after the game were negative, and Happ said he will need to get the swelling down and manage the pain. However, he may require a stint on the injured list. He went 1-for-3 with a double before being pinch-hit for by Vidal Brujan. The 30-year-old is having a disappointing season, slashing .227/.324/.380 with 14 home runs, 50 RBI, and five stolen bases in 444 plate appearances. Fantasy managers should check Wednesday's lineup, although it would not be surprising to see him out of the lineup, especially since he may need to miss time.

    From RotoBaller

Ronald Acuna Jr. Tue Jul 29 11:30pm CT

As another blow to an already poor season, Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. (Achilles) exited Tuesday night's 9-6 loss to the Royals with right Achilles tightness. The team announced that Acuna Jr. would be placed on the injured list. He went 0-for-2 with a walk before exiting after showing discomfort in his at-bats. The 27-year-old has dealt with numerous similar injuries throughout his career and made just 222 plate appearances in 2024. This is unfortunate news for both the Braves and fantasy managers, as Acuna Jr. was slashing .306/.429/.577 with 14 home runs, 26 RBI, and four stolen bases in 238 plate appearances. Eli White replaced Acuna Jr., so he may see more playing time. However, fantasy managers will likely want to look elsewhere to try to find a replacement for Acuna Jr.

    From RotoBaller

Juan Soto Tue Jul 29 11:20pm CT

New York Mets outfielder Juan Soto (foot) exited Tuesday's game against the Padres in the fourth inning with a foot contusion. Soto fouled a pitch off his foot in the top of the inning, and while he stayed in to finish the at-bat, he was replaced defensively in the next half-inning by Tyrone Taylor. Soto went 0-for-2 before exiting. Fantasy managers should look for more information after the game. The 26-year-old, who is in the first season of a 15-year, $765 million contract, has slashed .248/.382/.488 with 25 home runs, 62 RBI, and 15 stolen bases in 469 plate appearances.

    From RotoBaller

Jackson Chourio Tue Jul 29 11:10pm CT

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Jackson Chourio (hamstring) exited Tuesday's 9-3 win over the Cubs in the fifth inning with a right hamstring spasm. Chourio pulled up heading into third base on a triple and was replaced on the basepaths by Blake Perkins. Chourio had gone 2-for-3 with a single and triple before exiting. He was also picked off first base. Fantasy managers should keep an eye out for more news and check the Brewers' lineup on Wednesday. The 21-year-old has put together a solid sophomore season, slashing .276/.311/.474 with 17 home runs, 67 RBI, and 18 stolen bases in 472 plate appearances.

    From RotoBaller

Michael King Tue Jul 29 9:00pm CT

San Diego Padres right-hander Michael King (shoulder) is reportedly in consideration for a rehab start this weekend, likely at the Triple-A level. The 30-year-old has been on the 60-day injured list since May 25 with a long thoracic nerve injury in his right shoulder. He is expected to return sometime in August. Before the injury, King was dominant, posting a 2.59 ERA, a 1.02 WHIP, and 64 strikeouts across 55 innings. His return would provide a significant boost to a Padres rotation looking to stay competitive in a tightly contested National League West race.

    From RotoBaller

Carlos Correa Tue Jul 29 8:50pm CT

Minnesota Twins shortstop Carlos Correa (illness) left Tuesday's game early with what manager Rocco Baldelli described as lightheadedness. Correa spoke with the team's head trainer multiple times before exiting during the top of the third inning. Twenty-four-year-old Brooks Lee took over at shortstop. Correa is day-to-day. The 30-year-old has taken a step back following an excellent 2024 season. Through 93 games, he is slashing .267/.319/.386 with limited power production. The Twins will likely be cautious with their star infielder as they continue their push for a postseason spot.

    From RotoBaller

Reese Olson Tue Jul 29 8:30pm CT

The Detroit Tigers have activated right-hander Chris Paddack, who will make his team debut Wednesday afternoon against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Paddack was acquired from the Minnesota Twins in a deal that also included right-hander Randy Dobnak, with catching prospect Enrique Jimenez going the other way. Through 21 starts this season, Paddack posted a 4.95 ERA, 1.28 WHIP, and a .266 opponents average. He takes the rotation spot of Reese Olson, who is expected to miss the rest of the season with a shoulder strain. Paddack is in his seventh major league season and owns a career 4.49 ERA.
