Jacob Misiorowski Mon Aug 11 9:10pm CT

Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Jacob Misiorowski (tibia) could require a rehab start, but it is still to be decided, reports Adam McCalvy of MLB.com. General manager Matt Arnold stated that they are still analyzing the situation and will make a decision within the next few days. Misiorowski most recently tossed 60 pitches during three simulated innings, so building up his arm seemingly isn't much of a concern. The 23-year-old landed on the injured list with a tibia contusion, an injury that is considered very minor. The young phenom posted a 2.70 ERA and 0.96 WHIP with 47 strikeouts in 33 innings prior to the injury, and he figures to be a key part of Milwaukee's rotation for the stretch run.

Ryan Yarbrough Mon Aug 11 9:00pm CT

New York Yankees pitcher Ryan Yarbrough (oblique) recently completed a live batting practice session, reports Bryan Hoch of MLB.com. He had two "ups" during the batting practice, and could potentially be in store for a longer buildup to restore his stamina. The 33-year-old last pitched on June 18 before suffering a strained oblique. He was used both as a starting pitcher and long reliever at times this season for the Yankees, and it's not clear which of those roles he would fill upon his return. It seems that they want to at least stretch him out to be a starter, if necessary. The lefty has posted a 3.90 ERA and 1.17 WHIP in 55 innings so far in 2025.

Fernando Cruz Mon Aug 11 8:50pm CT

New York Yankees relief pitcher Fernando Cruz (oblique) threw 19 pitches in a live batting practice session on Monday and is looking at a three-appearance rehab stint before being activated, reports Bryan Hoch of MLB.com. He last pitched in a major league game on June 27, before landing on the injured list with a strained oblique. Rehab assignments typically go much quicker for relievers than starters since they don't have to wait almost a week between outings, so Cruz could potentially be activated as soon as next week if things go according to plan. He was very good prior to the injury, posting a 3.00 ERA and 1.00 WHIP with 54 strikeouts in 33 innings.

Tanner Scott Mon Aug 11 8:40pm CT

Los Angeles Dodgers relief pitcher Tanner Scott (elbow) could be ready to face live hitters next week, reports Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register. No official timetable has been revealed for the lefty, although his most recent step in recovery was throwing a bullpen session last week. He has been out since July 21 with elbow inflammation, and it looks like late August would be a best-case scenario for his return at this point. The 31-year-old will presumably step back into the mix for saves in Los Angeles, where he will hope to add to his current tally of 19 saves.

Michael Kopech Mon Aug 11 8:40pm CT

Los Angeles Dodgers relief pitcher Michael Kopech (knee) threw a live batting practice session on Monday and could be ready for a rehab assignment next, reports Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register. It's been an abbreviated season so far for the 29-year-old, who didn't make his 2025 debut until June 8 due to forearm and shoulder injuries. If he can get healthy and return to his recent form, he should be able to rejoin the mix as a high-leverage reliever for the Dodgers in September and the playoffs. In his eight appearances on the season, he pitched seven innings without allowing a run.

Denzel Clarke Mon Aug 11 8:30pm CT

Athletics outfielder Denzel Clarke (hip) is close to returning from the injured list, reports Jessica Kleinschmidt of Baseball America. General manager David Forst stated that he "is close to going out and playing", although he didn't clarify if a rehab assignment would be needed. Clarke has been out since July 20 with a right adductor strain. While he hit for just a .230 batting average and .274 on-base percentage, the 25-year-old did impress with three home runs, six stolen bases, and several defensive gems in 47 games so far in 2025. His defense alone should get him back into the lineup in center field once he is healthy.

Miguel Vargas Mon Aug 11 8:30pm CT

Chicago White Sox third baseman Miguel Vargas (oblique) took batting practice on Monday, reports Scott Merkin of MLB.com. He reportedly felt very good after the fact and is hopeful to return to the roster without a rehab assignment. The 25-year-old has been on the 10-day injured list since August 1 with an oblique strain, so it looks like he could return with missing almost the minimum amount of time. The youngster has been starting to find himself at the plate and establish himself at the big league level with everyday playing time in Chicago, tallying 13 home runs, 44 RBI, and 57 runs in 106 games.

Shane McClanahan Mon Aug 11 8:00pm CT

Tampa Bay Rays left-hander Shane McClanahan (triceps) had surgery on his left triceps on Monday to try and address a lingering nerve issue in his arm, according to Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times. McClanahan will now officially miss the rest of the season. "(The doctor) is not sitting there saying 'he's fixed.' That's not the case. It's, 'This is one step, and we'll see how this goes.' And hopefully we get good results. And if we don't, then let doctors decide what else is needed, if anything," manager Kevin Cash said. The 28-year-old southpaw made three minor-league rehab starts before being shut down, and what Cash had to say isn't very encouraging going into the offseason and next year. McClanahan, the former 31st overall pick in 2018 out of South Florida has not pitched in the big leagues since 2023 due to injuries, so it's fair to wonder if he can recapture his All-Star form in 2026.

Javier Baez Mon Aug 11 7:40pm CT

MLB.com's Jason Beck writes that Detroit Tigers shortstop Javier Baez is expected to see some playing time in center field along with Wenceel Perez with outfielder Matt Vierling (oblique) on the 10-day injured list. The Tigers called up Trey Sweeney from Triple-A Toledo for more infield depth up the middle. Baez indeed got the start in center in Monday's series opener against the division-rival Chicago White Sox and hit ninth in the batting order, while Zach McKinstry got the start at the 6. The 32-year-old Baez will probably move back to shortstop once Parker Meadows (quadriceps) comes back from the injured list. Baez has had an unexpected resurgent season in 2025 for the Tigers, making the All-Star team for the third time in his career. He's been versatile on defense, too, and has already played center field 37 times this year.

Evan Carter Mon Aug 11 7:30pm CT

Texas Rangers outfielder Evan Carter (back) took live batting practice on Monday and could start a minor-league rehab assignment as early as Tuesday, according to MLB.com's Kennedi Landry. Barring a setback with his back, it's possible that Carter could rejoin the big-league team this weekend or early next week. When he returns, the 22-year-old left-handed hitter should at least be on the strong side of a platoon in center field against right-handed pitchers, moving Wyatt Langford back to left field on a daily basis. Carter is a former second-round pick and has the ability to make noise in all fantasy categories, but he's had a tough time staying on the field for long periods of time due to injuries. He has played in a career-high 55 games in 2025 and is hitting .238 (40-for-168) with four home runs, 21 RBI, 12 steals and 27 runs scored in 189 trips to the plate.

Grayson Rodriguez Mon Aug 11 7:20pm CT

Baltimore Orioles right-hander Grayson Rodriguez (elbow) had successful right-elbow debridement surgery to remove a bone spur on Monday with Dr. Keith Meister in Dallas, according to Danielle Allentuck of the Baltimore Banner. Rodriguez is done for the rest of the 2025 season, but the hope is that he'll be ready to go for spring training next year. The 25-year-old will end up not pitching at all for the Orioles this season, but he's hoping to resume throwing sooner than later in order to have a pretty normal offseason heading into 2026. Rodriguez also dealt with a serious lat/shoulder injury in 2024 and basically missed half the season. The former top prospect has a 25.7% strikeout rate in his two big-league seasons of 43 starts and has teased high-end starting pitcher talent, but fantasy managers will be very hesitant due to mounting injury concerns.

Matt Wallner Mon Aug 11 7:10pm CT

Minnesota Twins outfielder Matt Wallner (personal) is expected to rejoin the team in the Bronx on Tuesday for their game against the New York Yankees after being away since Saturday for the birth of his child. Wallner should be a lineup regular for the Twins after they traded away plenty of players at the July 31 deadline. The 27-year-old is hitting a career-low .218 (51-for-234) with 77 strikeouts and 34 walks, but he's also recorded a career-high 16 home runs, 27 RBI and 34 runs scored in 74 games. Wallner's .233 expected batting average means he could still have a little run in him this year, but he's also in just the eighth percentile in strikeout rate. Fantasy managers are simply chasing the former first-rounder's power from the left side in the middle of Minnesota's lineup.

    From RotoBaller

Carlos Narvaez Mon Aug 11 7:00pm CT

Boston Red Sox catcher Carlos Narvaez (knee) is behind the plate and is batting ninth in Monday's series opener against the hosting Houston Astros and right-hander Cristian Javier at Daikin Park. Narvaez will return to action for the first time since last Tuesday due to a sore left knee. As long as the 26-year-old's knee issues don't crop up again, he's expected to be the primary backstop for the Red Sox the rest of the way. The Venezuelan is in his first year in Beantown and only his second in the big leagues and is hitting .248/.319/.409 with a .729 OPS, nine home runs, 33 RBI and 41 runs scored in 86 games played. Narvaez only played six games with the New York Yankees in 2024, so this is essentially his rookie season. Since the All-Star break, Narvaez has gone 5-for-45 (.111) with a homer, two RBI and 14 strikeouts in 13 games played.

Marcelo Mayer Mon Aug 11 6:40pm CT

Boston Red Sox rookie infielder Marcelo Mayer (wrist) started baseball activities on Monday and is playing catch, according to Christopher Smith of MassLive. Mayer has been slow to recover from a right-wrist sprain that has kept him out since July 24, but the 22-year-old appears to be turning a corner. Still, it could be another week or two before he can rejoin the major-league roster, as the Red Sox will likely send him on a short minor-league rehab assignment first. The former fourth overall pick in 2021 made his big-league debut in 2025 and has hit .228/.272/.402 with four home runs, 10 RBI and 20 runs scored in 44 games. Mayer was previously one of Boston's top prospects and is an intresting stash in dynasty/keeper fantasy leagues, but there's no guarantee he'll see regular playing time in the final month of the season when he returns.

Hunter Harvey Mon Aug 11 6:20pm CT

The Kansas City Royals announced on Monday that they placed right-handed reliever Hunter Harvey (groin) on the 15-day injured list with a right-adductor strain and recalled right-handed pitching prospect Luinder Avila from Triple-A Omaha in a corresponding move. It will be the second time that Harvey has been on the IL this year after missing time earlier this season with a shoulder injury. The 30-year-old has been limited to 10 2/3 innings out of the Royals bullpen this year, although he has yet to allow a run while walking only one and striking out 11. Harvey will be eligible to return from the 15-day IL on Aug. 26, but it's unclear at this time if he'll be ready by then. A back injury ended his 2024 season early, too, so Harvey hasn't exactly had the greatest of injury luck in the last year.

    From RotoBaller

Brady Basso Mon Aug 11 6:20pm CT

The Athletics reinstated left-hander Brady Basso (shoulder) from the 60-day injured list on Monday and then optioned him to Triple-A Las Vegas, according to the team. The A's also transferred catcher Austin Wynns (abdomen) to the 60-day IL, which means he won't return this season. The 27-year-old southpaw has yet to pitch in the big leagues this season after he was placed on the IL before the start of the year with a left-shoulder strain. Basso had a setback along the way and will now go back to the minors to give himself a chance to pitch for the A's down the stretch. The former 16th-round pick in 2019 out of Oklahoma State made his major-league debut in 2024 and went 1-1 with a 4.03 ERA (3.88 FIP) and 1.25 WHIP with a 19:5 K:BB in seven outings (four starts). Basso is a command artist with limited long-term fantasy value.

    From RotoBaller

Michael Conforto Mon Aug 11 6:10pm CT

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Michael Conforto (knee) is starting in left field and batting seventh in Monday's series opener against the hosting Los Angeles Angels and right-hander Jose Soriano. Conforto was hit by a pitch on his right knee in Saturday's game against the Toronto Blue Jays and was given a day off in Sunday's series finale as a result. The 32-year-old left-handed hitter is back in there on Monday, though, as he look to find the form he had at the plate in July. Conforto had an .827 OPS in July but has only three hits in 24 at-bats with an RBI and six strikeouts in nine games in August. He just has not been a consistent contributor for the first-place Dodgers in his first year in L.A., as he enters Monday's action hitting under .200 with nine home runs, 25 RBI and 41 runs scored in 103 games on the season.

    From RotoBaller

Jac Caglianone Mon Aug 11 6:00pm CT

Kansas City Royals first baseman Jac Caglianone (hamstring) is scheduled to begin a minor league rehab assignment with Triple-A Omaha on Tuesday. Caglianone was cleared for baseball activities last week, now he's ready to take the next step. The rookie slugger has been sidelined since late July due to a hamstring strain. The expectation is that he'll need a handful of games to get back into the swing of things. He should be ready to rejoin the Royals lineup by late August. Fantasy managers should check back for another update on his status later in the week.

    From RotoBaller

Cole Ragans Mon Aug 11 5:50pm CT

Kansas City Royals starting pitcher Cole Ragans (shoulder) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session on Tuesday. This will be the first time that Ragans has thrown since landing on the injured list in early June. The expectation is that Ragans will throw a few bullpen sessions before going on a rehab assignment. The southpaw has been sidelined for quite a while, so he'll need time to build back up his pitch count and stamina. Fantasy managers shouldn't expect to see Ragans back on the mound for the Royals until September.

    From RotoBaller

Yordan Alvarez Mon Aug 11 5:40pm CT

Houston Astros designated hitter Yordan Alvarez (hand) was able to take live batting practice at the team's spring training complex in Florida over the weekend. This is a positive step forward as Alvarez was limited to hitting in the batting cage before this. The expectation is that Alvarez will likely need a few more batting practice sessions before he heads out on a minor league rehab assignment. This is a step in the right direction, but there is still more work to do. There currently isn't a timetable for Alvarez to return to the Astros lineup. He has been out since early May due to a fractured hand. At this point, Alvarez probably won't be able to contribute in Houston until September.
