St. Louis Cardinals second baseman Brendan Donovan (toe) is back at the keystone and is batting leadoff for Sunday's series finale in Milwaukee against the division-rival Brewers and right-hander Quinn Priester. It will be Donovan's first game action since Tuesday after he was diagnosed with a sprained left big toe. The 28-year-old utility man will wear a carbon-fiber orthotic in his shoe going forward, but it remains to be seen if it will negatively impact his production at the plate. Despite having one of the slowest bats in baseball, Donovan has hit .310 (77-for-248) on the year and has an expected batting average of .304 thanks to the consistent contact he makes. There's little fantasy upside otherwise, though, as the German infielder doesn't really provide power or speed. He has one hit and an RBI in three career at-bats versus Priester.
From RotoBaller
Baltimore Orioles catcher Adley Rutschman is not in the team's starting lineup for Sunday's series finale against the visiting Los Angeles Angels at Camden Yards. Gary Sanchez is behind the plate to catch right-hander Scott Blewett and will hit fifth against Angels left-hander Yusei Kikuchi. It will be Rutschman's first day off since June 1. The 27-year-old switch-hitting backstop has had a good month of June so far after a slow start to the 2025 season, going 15-for-41 (.366) with two homers, two doubles, four RBI and eight runs scored in 11 games. Although six of his seven homers on the year have come against right-handers, Rutschman has gone just 34-for-157 (.217) against them. His batted-ball metrics show that more positive regression should be on the way. Sanchez came off the injured list on Saturday and promptly homered in Saturday's win. He's hit .286 in seven career at-bats against Kikuchi.
From RotoBaller
Houston Astros third baseman Isaac Paredes (hamstring) remains on the bench for Sunday's series finale against the visiting Minnesota Twins at Daikin Park. Luis Guillorme will handle third base and will bat out of the nine-hole against Twins right-hander Simeon Woods Richardson. Paredes suffered a strained left hamstring in Thursday's win over the Chicago White Sox, but for now, the Astros aren't putting him on the injured list. The 26-year-old has been one of the team's most consistent producers on offense in his first year in Houston, so fantasy managers are certainly hoping he can return sooner than later. Paredes is slashing .255/.353/.478 with an .831 OPS, 15 homers, 42 RBI and 37 runs scored on the season. He should be stashed in all leagues if he does go on the IL. Guillorme is a light-hitting veteran infield utility man and should be avoided for DFS purposes.
From RotoBaller
Baltimore Orioles first baseman Ryan O'Hearn (ankle) said his sore left ankle is feeling better on Sunday than it did on Saturday, but he'll remain out for the series finale on Sunday against the Los Angeles Angels. O'Hearn expects to be back to normal on Monday, which means he should be back in the lineup for the series opener in Tampa against the division-rival Rays. Coby Mayo is making another start at first and will hit seventh on Sunday against Angels left-hander Yusei Kikuchi. O'Hearn injured his ankle in Friday's win over the Halos, but it doesn't appear to be an injury that will send him to the injured list. The lefty slugger is having the best year of his career in his third year in Baltimore, slashing .310/.391/.502 with an .893 OPS, 10 home runs, 27 RBI, 28 runs and three steals in 58 games. Fantasy managers hope this injury won't slow him down.
From RotoBaller
The Colorado Rockies have optioned right-handed pitching prospect Zach Agnos to Triple-A. In a corresponding move, the Rockies activated left-handed pitcher Austin Gomber (shoulder) from the 60-day injured list. Agnos made his MLB debut earlier this season and was quickly deployed in a high-leverage role. Through his first 8 2/3 innings of work, the No. 24-ranked prospect in the system posted a 3.2 ERA with a 0.92 WHIP. During this stretch, he tallied two saves and one hold. However, over his last 3 1/3 innings, Agnos has struggled, allowing six hits and 10 earned runs. Given his recent slump, the Rockies will opt for him to continue his development with Triple-A. While he heads back to the minor leagues, fantasy managers should expect Seth Halvorsen and Tyler Kinley to operate as the go-to options in save situations.
From RotoBaller
The Colorado Rockies have activated left-handed pitcher Austin Gomber (shoulder) off the 60-day injured list prior to his season debut on Sunday afternoon against the Atlanta Braves. Gomber has been sidelined through the opening months of the campaign due to shoulder soreness. While he was initially expected to only miss a brief period, this injury began to linger. With Gomber reuniting, the Rockies shifted right-handed pitcher Ryan Feltner (back) to the 60-day IL and optioned right-handed pitcher Zach Agnos to Triple-A. Last season, Gomber logged 165 innings to the tune of a 4.75 ERA with a 1.31 WHIP. Across this stint, Gomber struck out just 116 batters and posted a solid 5.5% walk rate. Given his ability to limit hard contact, he is best to leave on the waiver wire when he faces the Braves this afternoon.
From RotoBaller
Boston Red Sox outfielder Roman Anthony and infielder Marcelo Mayer are not in Sunday's lineup when they face Yankee left-hander Max Fried. Anthony has only made one start against a left-hander since joining the major league roster. While Anthony could ultimately earn a full-time role in the Boston lineup, it appears the Red Sox are being cautious with his playing time and keeping him on the strong side of a platoon. Fellow top prospect Mayer has also been typically held out of action when facing left-handed pitching. Since joining the majors, Mayer has only made two starts against lefties. Despite the limited playing time, Mayer has begun to heat up, posting a strong .313 AVG over his last eight games. Anthony has held a low .063 AVG through his first five games. Fantasy managers should expect both budding stars to return to the lineup on Monday when they begin a series against the Seattle Mariners.
From RotoBaller
Cincinnati Reds starting pitcher Hunter Greene (groin) will report to Arizona to continue his rehab process. The right-hander was placed on the 15-day injured list with a Grade 1 groin strain earlier in June. Greene recently sought a second opinion on his strain. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status as he may not miss too much time if he can begin his rehab process soon. Before the injury, the hard-throwing right-hander was enjoying a strong start to the season, posting a stellar 2.72 ERA with a 0.97 WHIP. Across 59 2/3 innings of work, Greene struck out 73 batters while posting an excellent 5.9% walk rate. He also sits in the 87th percentile in xERA and xBA. While Greene remains sidelined, Wade Miley should continue to remain in the rotation.
From RotoBaller
Minnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton (elbow) is in Sunday's lineup when the Twins conclude a series against the Houston Astros. Buxton was removed from Saturday's game after being hit by a pitch, but was able to avoid a serious injury. This afternoon, Buxton will cover center field and will bat at the top of the batting order. Over his last 11 contests, the 31-year-old has been quite productive at the plate, posting a .306/.435/.472 slash line with three doubles and a home run. During this stretch, Buxton has tallied 11 RBI and swiped three bags. Through 54 games this season, Buxton has been quite productive, holding a .273/.338/.502 line with 11 home runs and 12 stolen bases. This afternoon, Buxton is a strong choice in DFS facing Houston left-hander Brandon Walter.
From RotoBaller
Minnesota Twins third baseman Royce Lewis (hamstring) was placed on the 10-day injured list on Sunday with a left hamstring strain. Lewis exited Friday's game with this hamstring strain and was held out of action on Saturday. This is Lewis' second hamstring strain of the campaign. The former first overall pick has dealt with numerous injuries throughout his young career. Through 30 games this season, Lewis has struggled at the plate, posting a .202/.282/.303 line with four doubles and two home runs. However, last season, Lewis was quite productive from a power perspective, posting a .747 OPS with 16 home runs in 82 games. In a corresponding move, the Twins promoted outfielder DaShawn Keirsey Jr. from Triple-A St. Paul. While Lewis remains out, fantasy managers should expect Brooks Lee and Willi Castro to cover the hot corner.
From RotoBaller
Pittsburgh Pirates pitching prospectThomas Harrington allowed two earned runs on five hits and three walks while striking out 10 batters in six innings of work at Triple-A Indianapolis on Saturday. It's the third straight quality start for the 23-year-old, pitching to a 2.50 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, and an 18:8 K:BB over 18 IP over that time. With some earlier struggles, including one outing in which he allowed nine earned runs, the righty owns a 5.46 ERA, 1.39 WHIP, and a 12.2 percent K-BB% through 11 starts (56 IP). The Pirates' third-ranked prospect (MLB No. 80) made two starts with the big league club in early April, and while they didn't go well, the 6-foot-2 hurler surely will get another shot at some point this season. Until then, however, he is not worth stashing in season-long leagues.
From RotoBaller
Arizona Diamondbacks infield prospect Jordan Lawlar went 1-for-5 on Saturday, smacking his ninth home run of the season, walking once, andswiping two bags for Triple-A Reno. The D-backs' top-ranked prospect has hit safely in nine of 12 games since being demoted back on May 29, slashing .288/.383/.596 with three doubles, two triples, three home runs, and three steals during that time. It should only be a matter of time before he gets another shot with the big league club, but hopefully the next time around, there will be regularat-bats available so that he can stay in rhythm. Despite struggling during his brief stints in the majors, there is still 20/20 potential here in the future, although the 22-year-old doesn't warrant stashing in most redraft leagues at this point.
From RotoBaller
Cincinnati Reds third base prospect Cam Collier went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run on Saturday for High-A Dayton. The 20-year-old injured his thumb in the preseason and completed a rehab assignment with the team's Arizona ComplexLeague affiliate, finally getting activated off the IL on June 3. Since then, the Reds' fourth-ranked prospect (MLB No. 71) has gone on to hit .306 (11-for-36) with a double, a home run, and a 5:7 BB:K in 10 games played thus far. The left-handed slugger is coming off a 20-homer campaign at High-A in 2024, and witha 13.0 percent walk rate, he posted a strong .355 OBP. With a good showing at High-A, he should be on his way to Double-A Chattanooga in no time, and MLB.com's top prospects list estimates an MLB debut next year. If that comes to fruition, his 60-grade power could be a fantasyasset, although he's not a factor in the stolen base department.
From RotoBaller
Pittsburgh Pirates shortstop/outfield prospect Konnor Griffin went 3-for-4 on Saturday for High-A Greensboro, including his first home run at that level. The left-handed hitter also walked once, tallying two RBI and four runs scored along with two stolen bases in the contest. The 19-year-old has recorded a hit in each of his first five games at High-A, with multiple hits in four of the five, going 10-for-23 (.435) with four doubles, a home run, five RBI, nine runs scored, five steals, and a 2:2 BB:K. The ninth overallpick of the 2024 Draft is making his first run through professional baseball and is making it look easy, hitting .348 with a .963 OPS between Single-A and High-A, with 10 home runs, 41 RBI, 58 runs scored, and 31 stolen bases in 55 games played. At this rate, the Pirates' second-ranked prospect appears destined for Double-A and maybe even higher before the season is out. Dynasty managers should have a keen interest in MLB's 34th-ranked prospect.
From RotoBaller
Philadelphia Phillies relief pitcher Matt Strahm was called upon to hold a one-run lead against the Toronto Blue Jays on Saturday. He didn't need much time to convert the save as he needed only seven pitches to convert his third save of the season. It was a clean outing from Strahm who could begin to see more save chances. Current closer Jordan Romano has allowed three runs over his last four outings. Strahm is someone to watch in fantasy formats right now.
From RotoBaller
San Diego Padres relief pitcher Ranger Suarez was called upon to protect a four-run lead against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Saturday. The normally reliable closer was hit around in this non-save situation. He gave up three straight hits before finally striking out Corbin Carroll to record the first out. After that, Suarez gave up a hit to Ketel Marte and a game-tying triple to Geraldo Perdomo. Suarez was removed from the game and left-hander Adrian Morejon allowed an inherited runner to score and give Suarez the loss. This was an awful performance that inflated Suarez to a 3.23 ERA on the season. Despite this disaster, Suarez has been reliable, converting 21-of-23 save chances. Fantasy managers should keep riding with him despite the ugly outing.
From RotoBaller
Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani has been off to a slow start in June, but came ready to swing the bat on Saturday. Ohtani kicked off the game with a leadoff home run in the first inning. He would later hit another solo home run in the sixth inning. Ohtani finished the night 2-for-3 with two homers, two RBI, and two walks in the win. Ohtani currently leads the National League in homers and trails only American League sluggers Aaron Judge and Cal Raleigh. Ohtani is slashing .290/.385/.638 with 25 homers, 41 RBI, and 11 stolen bases in 69 games.

San Diego Padres starting pitcher Michael King (shoulder) is unfortunately still unable to throw the baseball right now. Roughly a week ago, King was shut down from throwing while the organization determined the best treatment option for him. It doesn't sound like there has been any positive developments since then. Recently, Padres manager Mike Shildt said there's really nothing they can do until King is able to pick up and throw the baseball again. King has been sidelined since late May due to right shoulder inflammation. His rehab work has stalled, so it doesn't sound like King is going to be back on the mound anytime soon. There is currently no timetable for his return, so fantasy managers will just need to be patient.
From RotoBaller
Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Anthony Santander (shoulder) has not been cleared to swing the bat yet, according to the team's manager John Schneider. Santander has been throwing the baseball, but hasn't progressed to hitting yet. The 30-year-old has been sidelined since late May due to left shoulder inflammation. He did receive a PRP injection in June, but it hasn't helped him too much. Once Santander has begun hitting, he'll likely need to go on a minor league rehab assignment. There is currently no timetable for his return to the field. He was struggling before the injury, so fantasy managers might need to make a decision soon.
From RotoBaller
San Diego Padres outfielder Jackson Merrill (head) was removed early from Saturday's contest against the Arizona Diamondbacks with a possible concussion. Merrill suffered an apparent head injury while attempting to steal second base in the seventh inning. He was on the ground for a while before exiting with the trainers. He went 1-for-3 with a single and a walk before leaving. Padres manager Mike Shildt said afterwards that Merrill was woozy, which is never a good sign. Merrill will undergo further testing on Sunday, so fantasy managers should get more information soon. Fantasy managers should consider Merrill as day-to-day for the moment.
