Nick Yorke Wed Jul 2 6:50am CT

Pittsburgh Pirates first base prospect Nick Yorke went 2-for-4 with a triple and a home run during their contest against Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday evening. In this contest, Yorke scored one run and brought in four. Over his last 14 games, Yorke has been one of the most productive hitters at Triple-A, boasting a .310/.385/.500 slash line with two triples, two home runs, and 14 RBI. Through 65 total games with Indianapolis this season, the No. 6-ranked prospect in the system has held a .279/.348/.397 line. Last summer, Yorke received a brief taste of the majors and tallied eight hits across 11 games. If Yorke continues to produce at this level at Triple-A, he should be in contention to return to Pittsburgh in the second half of the season.

Jonathon Long Wed Jul 2 6:30am CT

Chicago Cubs first base prospect Jonathon Long went 2-for-5 with a home run during their contest against Triple-A Omaha on Tuesday evening. This was Long's 10th long ball of the campaign. Over his previous 11 contests, Long has posted a strong .325/.413/.425 slash line with a double and a home run. The 23-year-old made his Triple-A debut at the start of the campaign and has looked the part, posting a .313/.391/.473 slash line. He has tallied 11 doubles and shown a strong eye at the plate, holding a 56:35 K:BB. Last summer, Long spent time between High-A and Double-A, posting a cumulative .283/.391/.461 slash line with 21 doubles and 17 home runs. If Long can continue to produce at Iowa, he should be in the mix to join the major league roster during the stretch run.

Joe Mack Wed Jul 2 6:20am CT

Miami Marlins catching prospect Joe Mack continued to swing a hot bat during their contest against Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday evening. In this contest, Mack went 4-for-4 at the dish with two long balls, three runs, and four RBI. This impressive performance also extended his current hitting streak to seven games. During this surge at the plate, the backstop has hit five home runs. However, before this impressive streak, Mack posted a modest .125/.196/.125 line through his previous 13 games at Triple-Jacksonville. Overall, throughout his first 51 games at the top level of the minor leagues, the No. 8-ranked prospect in the system has posted a .262/.324/.419 slash line with seven home runs. If Mack can continue this impressive power surge, he could reach the majors in the second half.

Carter Jensen Wed Jul 2 6:10am CT

Kansas City Royals catching prospect Carter Jensen went 2-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI during their contest against Triple-A Iowa on Tuesday evening. Jensen was recently promoted to Triple-A Omaha. Throughout his first five games at the level, Jensen went 1-for-22 at the plate with a home run. However, on Tuesday, he was able to not only post his first multi-hit game at the level, but also his first multi-home run at the level. The No. 3-ranked prospect in the Kansas City system opened the campaign with Double-A and looked quite comfortable during this stint. Through 68 games, the backstop posted a strong .292/.360/.420 line with nine doubles and six long balls. If Jensen can continue to turn the corner at Triple-A, he could reach the majors later in the regular season.

Shane Baz Wed Jul 2 3:00am CT

Rays' SP Shane Baz recorded 11 strikeouts in 7 innings in a 4-3 loss to the Athletics on Tuesday, Jul. 1.

Zac Gallen Wed Jul 2 1:53am CT

Arizona Diamondbacks' SP Zac Gallen recorded 10 strikeouts in 7 innings getting the win in a 8-2 win over the Giants on Tuesday, Jul. 1.

Grant Holmes Wed Jul 2 1:20am CT

Braves' SP Grant Holmes recorded 10 strikeouts in 6 innings in a 4-0 loss to the Angels on Tuesday, Jul. 1.

George Springer Wed Jul 2 1:12am CT

Blue Jays' RF George Springer had seven RBIs going 3-for-4 with two home runs in a 12-5 win over the Yankees on Tuesday, Jul. 1.

Drew Romo Wed Jul 2 12:10am CT

Colorado Rockies catcher prospect Drew Romo went 3-for-4 with three doubles and two RBI in Tuesday's 9-7 win against Triple-A El Paso. It was quite the day for Romo, as he recorded his most total bases and RBI in a game this season. It's been an underwhelming year overall, as he is slashing .247/.312/.412 with just two homers in 110 plate appearances in his second stint at Triple-A. The underlying metrics also aren't very encouraging, as he is chasing outside the strike zone more than 40 percent of the time, to go with just a 25 percent hard-hit rate. The 23-year-old made his MLB debut on August 17, 2024, and became the third-youngest catcher to debut in Rockies history. It's been a struggle since then, and he likely won't be on many fantasy radars this season.

Zac Gallen Wed Jul 2 12:00am CT

Arizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Zac Gallen turned in one of his best starts of the season in Tuesday's 8-2 victory over the Giants. Gallen pitched seven innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on five hits (including a solo home run) and no walks with 10 strikeouts. The 29-year-old now has a 13-strikeout effort and a 10-strikeout performance this season. Unfortunately, strikeouts have been hard to come by for him overall, and he has had a very disappointing season. Gallen is now 6-9 with a 5.45 ERA, a 1.37 WHIP, an 8.48 K/9 rate, and a 3.63 BB/9 rate in 18 starts and 104 IP. His next start will be a favorable one against an underperforming Royals lineup. However, Gallen has allowed at least four runs in eight of his last 10 starts, so fantasy managers may consider starting him in points leagues only until he can truly get things back on track.

Randy Arozarena Tue Jul 1 11:50pm CT

Seattle Mariners outfielder Randy Arozarena continued his mini power surge in Tuesday's 6-3 loss to the Royals. Arozarena went 2-for-4 with a single, a solo home run, and a strikeout. The 30-year-old got the M's on the board in the second inning, lining a Michael Lorenzen fastball over the left-center wall. Arozarena now has three HR in his last two games and 11 long balls on the season. These have come with a respectable .248/.360/.427 slash line, 38 RBI, and 15 stolen bases in 364 plate appearances. He has been producing at a higher level lately, batting .294 with three HR and six stolen bases in June.

Mason Miller Tue Jul 1 11:40pm CT

Athletics closer Mason Miller escaped with his 17th save of the season in Tuesday's 4-3 extra-inning win over the Rays. Miller came in to pitch the bottom of the 10th inning with no outs and an automatic runner on second. He got the first two outs on a strikeout and a fly-out. He then intentionally walked a batter and allowed both runners to advance on a balk, but shut the door with a strikeout. The 26-year-old has struggled with walks this season and has had some blowup outings. However, he has converted 17 of 20 save opportunities with plenty of strikeouts. Miller now owns a 4.55 ERA with a 1.14 WHIP, a 14.78 K/9 rate, and a 4.55 BB/9 rate in 31 2/3 innings of work. The good news is that he has been trending in the right direction, allowing runs in just one of his last six outings.

    From RotoBaller

Carlos Estevez Tue Jul 1 11:40pm CT

Kansas City Royals closer Carlos Estevez continued his solid season in Tuesday's 6-3 win over the Mariners, picking up his 23rd save of the season. Estevez came in to pitch the bottom of the ninth inning up by three and shut things down with a 1-2-3 inning. The 32-year-old hasn't posted the gaudiest numbers, but he has been consistent, converting all but three of his save opportunities with a 2.02 ERA, a 1.04 WHIP, a 7.57 K/9 rate, and a 3.53 BB/9 rate in 35 2/3 innings of work. Again, Estevez may not provide the strikeout numbers of some other high-end closers, but he is now tied for second in saves in baseball. He should continue to offer a high fantasy floor despite the Royals' lackluster performance overall.

    From RotoBaller

Chase Petty Tue Jul 1 11:40pm CT

Cincinnati Reds pitching prospect Chase Petty allowed two runs on two hits and two walks while striking out one over five innings as he picked up the win against Triple-A Indianapolis. Petty was not overpowering in this outing, with only three whiffs on 25 swings. The velocity on his pitches was slightly down across the board as well. The 22-year-old is coming off a strong month of June, recording a 2.29 ERA, 1.17 WHIP, and 18:7 K:BB in 19.2 innings. The right-hander has gotten a taste of the big leagues this year, but got blasted for nine runs in his MLB debut. He would make for a deep league or NL-only add if he were to return to the majors.

    From RotoBaller

Daniel Palencia Tue Jul 1 11:30pm CT

Chicago Cubs relief pitcher Daniel Palencia picked up his ninth save of the season in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Guardians. Palencia came in to pitch the top of the ninth inning up by three and shut the door with a 1-2-3 performance, including two strikeouts. The 25-year-old has served as the team's primary closer for the last month and has converted all but one of his save opportunities this season with a 1.80 ERA, a 0.97 WHIP, and a 10.50 K/9 rate in 30 innings of work. Veteran Ryan Pressly has seen some save opportunities as well, but he has taken a back seat to Palencia, who is rostered in just 45 percent of leagues. The Cubs' strong performance this season and Palencia's increasing responsibilities make him worth a roster spot in at least all roto leagues at this time.

    From RotoBaller

Noelvi Marte Tue Jul 1 11:30pm CT

Cincinnati Reds third baseman Noelvi Marte (oblique) went 2-for-3 with a grand slam, an additional RBI, and two walks in a rehab game on Tuesday. Marte looks to be recovered from his oblique strain as he clobbered a grand slam in his first rehab game. The 23-year-old was off to a strong start with the Reds before the injury. He was hitting .294/.342/.515 with three homers and four stolen bases in 73 plate appearances. He flashed his elite raw power with a 116.7 mph home run and also owns the best strikeout rate of his young career at 16.4 percent. Marte still has incredible upside with his blend of power, speed, and contact. Although the Reds' infield still seems a tad crowded, he is worth adding in at least deep-mixed leagues for corner-infield depth as he nears his return to the big leagues.

Jacob deGrom Tue Jul 1 11:20pm CT

Texas Rangers starter Jacob deGrom won his fifth consecutive decision on Tuesday night in his team's 10-2 victory over the Baltimore Orioles, bringing his season-long win total to nine. deGrom threw six innings and allowed two earned runs with five hits (one homer allowed), one walk, and six strikeouts. The veteran right-hander has not allowed more than two earned runs in a start since April 11 and is now sporting a 2.13 ERA and 0.89 WHIP in 101 1/3 innings pitched (17 starts). He entered the day with a 25.9% strikeout rate and 20.4% K-BB%, both below career norms but still stellar marks. He remains an elite starting pitcher option in fantasy as long as he's healthy.

    From RotoBaller

Michael McGreevy Tue Jul 1 11:20pm CT

St. Louis Cardinals pitching prospect Michael McGreevy allowed only two hits while striking out five in six scoreless innings as he picked up the win on Tuesday against Triple-A Nashville. McGreevy picked up his eighth win of the season which is tied for the most among pitchers in Triple-A. The 24-year-old was in total control in this outing, throwing 55 of 81 pitches for strikes while also generating 12 whiffs on 41 swings. The right-hander has been dominant all season at Triple-A with a 2.28 ERA, 1.12 WHIP, and a 69:12 K:BB in 67 innings. He has made a handful of starts at the major league level and has been respectable, owning a 3.37 FIP over 21.1 innings. There isn't a clear spot for him in the rotation as of now, but that can always change. He would be a solid deep league or NL-only add when he returns to the majors.

    From RotoBaller

Hunter Goodman Tue Jul 1 11:20pm CT

Colorado Rockies catcher Hunter Goodman continued his strong offensive season in Tuesday's 6-5 loss to the Astros. Making his return to action after missing four games with a left-hamstring injury, Goodman went 2-for-4 with a pair of solo home runs and a walk. The 25-year-old got things going early, blasting a first-inning Colton Gordon fastball to straightaway center field. He kept things interesting in the ninth inning, depositing a Josh Hader fastball into the left-center seats to bring the Rockies within one. Goodman has been a bright spot for the Rockies and fantasy managers this season, slashing .290/.337/.532 with 16 HR and 50 RBI in 315 plate appearances. His catcher eligibility gives him an extra boost in fantasy value.

    From RotoBaller

Matthew Boyd Tue Jul 1 11:10pm CT

Chicago Cubs starter Matthew Boyd picked up his eighth win of the season in his team's 5-2 victory over the Cleveland Guardians. Boyd went seven innings, allowing five hits, one walk, and two earned runs with five strikeouts. The veteran lefty has emerged as an integral piece of the division-leading Cubs' rotation. He's posted a 2.65 ERA and 1.09 WHIP with 87 strikeouts in 98 2/3 innings pitched. There are some signs of regression in his profile, as Boyd has stranded an unusually high 80.4% of baserunners, and his 8.4% home run-to-fly-ball rate is well below his career norms. Even if Boyd pitches closer to his 3.44 xERA the rest of the way, he'll still be a useful fantasy starter with solid win potential every time he takes the mound for the Cubs.
