Kansas City Royals first base prospect Jac Caglianone is serving as the designated hitter and batting sixth in his major-league debut on Tuesday in St. Louis against the Cardinals and right-hander Andre Pallante. Caglianone arrives to much fanfare as MLB Pipeline's 10th overall prospect in all of baseball. The 22-year-old left-handed slugger was taken sixth overall last year out of Florida and was hitting a combined .322/.389/.593 with a .982 OPS, 15 long balls, 56 RBI, 41 runs scored and two stolen bases in 50 games with Double-A Northwest Arkansas and Triple-A Omaha before his call-up. Caglianone, who can also play the outfield, is expected to see most of his playing time in KC in right field initially, but he can also work in at DH and first base. There's elite power and athleticism here, making Caglianone a must-roster player in all fantasy leagues right away.

Texas Rangers slumping outfielder Adolis Garcia will start yet another game on the bench on Tuesday against the Tampa Bay Rays at George M. Steinbrenner Field. Alejandro Osuna is starting in right field and will bat fifth against Rays right-hander Drew Rasmussen. The Rangers are giving Garcia a mental break for the fourth straight game during a season-long slump to this point. The 32-year-old Cuban outfielder and former two-time All-Star has slashed .208/.256/.371 with seven home runs, 27 RBI, 16 runs scored, five stolen bases, 11 walks and 57 strikeouts in 215 plate appearances. He was even worse in May, slashing .189/.224/.333 with a near-30% strikeout rate in 26 games. As the Rangers are doing, fantasy managers need to follow suit and continue to keep Garcia on the bench. It's unclear when he'll return to action.

Toronto Blue Jays outfielder/designated hitter Anthony Santander (shoulder) received a platelet-rich plasma injection in his injured left shoulder and will take five to seven days off before throwing and ramping up, according to The Athletic's Mitch Bannon. Santander is currently on the 10-day injured list and probably won't be able to return when he's eligible if he's shut down for around a week. However, barring a setback when he resumes baseball activities, it's possible he could be back in Toronto before the end of June, even if he goes on a minor-league rehab assignment. Considering all the money the Jays gave the 30-year-old switch-hitter in free agency, they probably won't be rushing him back before he's ready. With Daulton Varsho also on the IL, Addison Barger, Nathan Lukes and Myles Straw should see more playing time in the outfield for Toronto.
From RotoBaller
The Texas Rangers announced on Tuesday that they activated outfielder Evan Carter (quadriceps) from the 10-day injured list. Catcher Tucker Barnhart, who was designated for assignment on Sunday, elected free agency. Carter is starting in center field on Tuesday and is hitting eighth against Tampa Bay Rays right-hander Drew Rasmussen. After three minor-league rehab games with Triple-A Round Rock, Carter is returning from a Grade 2 quadriceps strain that has kept him out since May 16. The 22-year-old former second-round pick in 2020 burst onto the scene late in 2023 and hit .306 (19-for-62) with five homers and 12 RBI in 23 regular-season games before helping the Rangers win the World Series that fall. He played in just 45 games last year, though, due to injuries and had gone 6-for-33 (.182) with a homer and three RBI before his quad injury. Carter should at least be in the strong side of a platoon in center for Texas.

The Toronto Blue Jays activated infielder Andres Gimenez (quadriceps) and catcher Tyler Heineman (concussion) from the injured list on Tuesday, according to Sportsnet's Ben Nicholson-Smith. In corresponding moves, the Blue Jays designated infielder Michael Stefanic and catcher Ali Sanchez for assignment. Gimenez is starting at second base and batting ninth on Tuesday against Philadelphia Phillies left-hander Cristopher Sanchez. The 26-year-old will return to regular duties at the keystone in Toronto after missing a month of action with a strained right quadriceps muscle. He went 2-for-12 in four minor-league rehab games and is really only worth rostering in deep-mixed and AL-only leagues for his speed. Gimenez will return to a weak .195/.273/.305 slash line with three home runs, 10 RBI, 17 runs and nine stolen bases.
From RotoBaller
The Athletic's Mitch Bannon writes that the next step for Toronto Blue Jays right-hander Max Scherzer (thumb) is a minor-league rehab game in the rookie-level Florida Complex League or a simulated game in Florida this weekend. Scherzer threw almost 40 pitches to live hitters on Tuesday and continues to progress in his rehab from a crank right thumb that has limited him to just one start in his first year in Toronto. If he can avoid any further setbacks, it's realistic to think he can come off the injured list and rejoin Toronto's starting rotation by the end of June. In his lone start against the Baltimore Orioles on March 29, Scherzer allowed two earned runs on two homers while striking out one in just three innings. The three-time Cy Young winner is no longer the dominant ace we've come to expect, and now he's also very injury-prone.

Chicago Cubs outfielder Kyle Tucker (finger) is sitting out Tuesday's series opener against the hosting Washington Nationals in D.C. after jamming his right ring finger in Sunday's game against the Cincinnati Reds. X-rays came back for any fractures, though, and Tucker will get an extra day off after a travel day on Monday. It's the first time the 28-year-old left-handed slugger will take a day off in his first year with the team. Seiya Suzuki is playing right field and batting second, while Justin Turner is the designated hitter and batting eighth against Nationals right-hander Trevor Williams. Fantasy managers will want to check back on Wednesday to see if Tucker is back on the field for the Cubbies. In his first year in Chicago, Tucker has ben in All-Star form, hitting .284/.394/.524 with a .918 OPS, 12 homers, 39 RBI, 44 runs and 16 steals in 225 at-bats.
From RotoBaller
Philadelphia Phillies first baseman Bryce Harper (elbow) is back at first base and is hitting third in Tuesday's series opener in Canada against the hosting Toronto Blue Jays and right-hander Bowden Francis. It's the first time Harper has played since being hit by a pitch on his elbow last Tuesday against the Atlanta Braves. Fantasy managers can safely return the 32-year-old two-time All-Star back into their starting lineups this week. Not only has Harper been swinging a hot bat, but he also homered in his only career at-bat against Bowden. The eight-time All-Star hit .308 (28-for-91) with three home runs, seven RBI, 17 RBI, 12 runs scored and two stolen bases in 24 games played in the month of June and will be looking to keep things rolling offensively after missing a week of action with his elbow injury. Alec Bohm is back at third base, sending Edmundo Sosa back to the bench.
From RotoBaller
Boston Red Sox rookie infielder Marcelo Mayer is not in the starting lineup for Tuesday's contest against the visiting Los Angeles Angels with left-hander Yusei Kikuchi on the mound. Abraham Toro will make the start at the hot corner and will bat fifth against Kikuchi, who he has hit .125 against in just eight career at-bats. For now, the Red Sox are choosing to keep the former fourth overall pick in 2021 out of the starting lineup against southpaws early in his first taste of MLB. The team's No. 2 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, has gone 6-for-30 (.200) with two doubles, two runs, two walks and 10 strikeouts in his first eight big-league games for Boston. Against right-handers, he should continue to be the club's starting third baseman with Alex Bregman (quadriceps) on the injured list with no real timetable for a return. Toro will be a deep DFS sleeper in the five-hole on Tuesday.
From RotoBaller
Colorado Rockies shortstop Ezequiel Tovar (ribs) is absent from the team's starting lineup for Tuesday's contest in Miami against the Marlins. Orlando Arcia will take over at the 6 and bat sixth against Marlins right-hander Sandy Alcantara. Tovar was pulled from Monday's win over the Fish as a precaution with an injury to his left side near his rib. It sounds as though the 23-year-old's injury isn't serious at all, so he could be back in the starting lineup as soon as Wednesday after a day off. Arcia was recently picked up off waivers after he was cut by the Atlanta Braves and has only played in three games with the Rockies, going 3-for-9 with a solo home run. The veteran shortstop wasn't nearly as good in 14 games with Atlanta before being cut, hitting .194 (6-for-31) and losing his job to Nick Allen. Arcia will be a deep DFS sleeper against Alcantara, who has really struggled in 2025.
From RotoBaller
The Miami Marlins placed right-hander Max Meyer (hip) on the 15-day injured list on Tuesday with a left-hip impingement and recalled right-hander George Soriano from Triple-A Jacksonville in a corresponding move. It remains to be seen if Meyer will be ready to come off the IL when he's eligible in a few weeks on June 18. The 26-year-old continues to be held back by injuries, but hopefully this one won't keep him out for too long. Meyer allowed 10 earned runs in his first two starts combined to begin the month of May and allowed four earned runs in each of his last two starts, including a disappointing loss to the lowly Colorado Rockies on Monday. Overall in 2025, the former third overall pick in 2020 from Minnesota has gone 3-5 with a 4.73 ERA (4.41 FIP) and 1.42 WHIP with 68 strikeouts and 20 walks in 64 2/3 innings over 12 starts.

The New York Yankees announced on Tuesday that they optioned infield prospect Jorbit Vivas to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to make room for infielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. (oblique) returning from the 10-day injured list. Vivas, the team's No. 19 prospect per MLB Pipeline, will head back to the farm after hitting just .156 (7-for-45) with a home runs, two doubles, four RBI, six runs scored, four walks and 11 strikeouts in his first 22 big-league games as a utility infielder. The 24-year-old saw action at second and third base due to injuries to Chisholm and Oswaldo Cabrera (ankle). For now, Pablo Reyes will stick around as a utility infielder for the Yankees, while Vivas gets more development on the farm.
From RotoBaller
Minnesota Twins outfield prospect Emmanuel Rodriguez was placed on the 7-day minor league injured list on Monday with a right hip injury. The Twins' second-ranked prospect is heading full-speed into "injury prone" status, missing parts of the last few seasons with various ailments. Last year, the left-handed slugger played in only 47 games due to multiple hand-relatedinjuries. The Dominican offers big-time power and draws a ton of walks (21.7 percent careerBB%), but was 3-for-17 (.176) over his last eight games (8:7 BB:K) before the hip injury and has an atrocious 35.0 percent strikeoutrate through 39 games at Triple-A this season. However, if this is a minimal stint on the IL and he can get on a roll when he returns, the22-year-old could still be in line for a major league debut laterthis year.

The Pittsburgh Pirates announced on Tuesday that they reinstated infielder Nick Gonzales (ankle) from the 60-day injured list and optioned infielder/outfielder Nick Solak to Triple-A Indianapolis in a corresponding move. Additionally, right-hander Kyle Nicolas was recalled from Indianapolis. Gonzales is back at second base and is hitting sixth on Tuesday against the visiting Houston Astros and right-hander Lance McCullers Jr. The 26-year-old has been out since late March due to a fractured ankle, but he's back now and should see most of the playing time at the keystone in Pittsburgh, making him worth a waiver-wire pickup for fantasy managers in deep-mixed leagues looking for middle-infield depth. The former seventh overall pick in 2020 out of New Mexico State only played in one game before his injury. He had seven homers, 49 RBI and five steals with a .270 average in a career-high 94 games played in 2024.
From RotoBaller
Arizona Sports' John Gambadoro reports that Arizona Diamondbacks right-hander Ryne Nelson will return to the starting rotation with right-hander Corbin Burnes (elbow) going on the 15-day injured list on Tuesday. There's a chance Burnes could have to miss the rest of the 2025 season after injuring his right elbow in his last start on Sunday against the Washington Nationals. If that were to happen, Nelson would obviously have a big opportunity to stick around in Arizona's rotation for the long term, making him a priority waiver-wire addition for fantasy managers in deeper leagues looking for starting-pitching help at this juncture. The 27-year-old could be limited innings-wise in his next start after throwing only four innings on May 31 out of the bullpen. Nelson has never had a strikeout rate above 23.2% in the big leagues but has a decent 3.43 ERA and 1.00 WHIP with a save in 42 innings so far this year in a swing role.
From RotoBaller
The New York Yankees officially announced on Tuesday that they placed right-handed reliever Luke Weaver (hamstring) on the 15-day injured list (retroactive to June 1) with a left-hamstring strain and recalled right-hander Yerry De los Santos from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in a corresponding move. Weaver injured his hamstring warming up before Sunday's win over the Los Angeles Dodgers, and he's expected to be out for four to six weeks, meaning we may not see him until after the All-Star break in mid-July. In the meantime, right-hander Devin Williams will return to seeing most of the team's save chances after losing the closing gig early in the year to Weaver. Williams has an ERA over 6.00 for the season but also has five saves and has looked sharper in recent outings. The 30-year-old reliever needs to be rostered in all fantasy formats.
From RotoBaller
The Arizona Diamondbacks officially placed right-hander Corbin Burnes (elbow) on the 15-day injured list on Tuesday with right-elbow inflammation and recalled left-hander Tommy Henry from Triple-A Reno in a corresponding move, according to Arizona Sports' John Gambadoro. With Burnes potentially missing significant time, potentially for the rest of the season, right-hander Ryne Nelson will jump into the starting rotation and will have an opportunity to stick around for a while if he pitches well enough. Burnes will have a second opinion on his right arm later this week, at which point fantasy managers should have a better idea if he'll miss the rest of 2025. Losing Burnes, the team's ace, for the rest of the year would be a tough blow for the Snakes. He's gone 3-2 with a 2.66 ERA and 1.17 WHIP with 63 K's in 64 1/3 innings over 11 starts in his first year in the desert.
From RotoBaller
St. Louis Cardinals pitching prospect Michael McGreevy could be in line for more work with the big league club as the calendar turns to June. The Cardinals don't have an off day until June 16, then they do not see another off day until July 3, which could put stress on the starting rotation and bullpen. The team could still use veteran Steven Matz as a spot starter, as that's what he's been for most of his career, but McGreevy has had success in the majors already and could be strategically deployed to give their regular five-man rotation the necessary rest in between starts. McGreevy debuted in 2024, making four appearances (three starts) for the Cards, and has made one start already in 2025. All in all, the Cardinals' 10th-ranked prospect is 4-0 with a 1.57 ERA, 0.70 WHIP, and an 18.9 percent K-BB% thanks to a 23:3 K:BB in 28 2/3 IP. Given that success, the former first-round draft pick would be a viable DFS or streaming option against most teams were he to get recalled.
From RotoBaller
Arizona Diamondbacks infield prospect Jordan Lawlar is settling back in at Triple-A Reno after being optioned on May 29. The former sixth-overall draft pick went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts in his first game back with the Aces, but went 3-for-4 with a walk, two RBI, and a run scored in the second game on Sunday. The 22-year-old didn't do much in his time with the big league club, but wasn't given a chance to play every day (or even everyother dayin some cases), so surely it was challenging to get in a rhythm. At some point, there will be another opportunity to join the D-backs in a full-time role later this season, and the right-handed hitter is still the fourth-ranked prospect in all of baseball; fantasy managers will just have to wait a bit longer to see it. Continue to stash Lawlar in leagues where you have an open bench or NA spot.
From RotoBaller
Texas Rangers infield prospect Sebastian Walcott continues to show well at Double-A, going 6-for-16 (.375) with a double, two home runs, five RBI, six runs scored, three stolen bases, and a 3:2 BB:K over his last four games for the Frisco RoughRiders. The Rangers' top-ranked prospect's season-long slash line sits at .249/.341/.449 with eight home runs and 11 steals, and with the uptick in performance, he's pacing for a promotion to Triple-A in the coming months. The 19-year-old has the makings of a five-category fantasy producer and could be in the big leagues in the second half of 2026, so fantasy managers should have a keen interest in the 6-foot-4 slugger's progression.
