Minnesota Twins starting pitcher Joe Ryan yielded four hits and two earned runs in his team's 6-3 win against the Toronto Blue Jays. Ryan punched out six batters over five innings of work and issued three free passes to pick up his third straight win. It wasn't the 29-year-old's most efficient outing, as he walked three batters for the second time in as many appearances after not having done so through his first ten. Still, he was effective again, improving to 7-2 on the season. He boasts a superb 2.96 ERA and 0.93 WHIP through 73 innings with an exceptional 82:15 K:BB ratio. Ryan will look to continue his stellar season the next time he toes the rubber -- on the road against the Houston Astros later this week.

Texas Rangers first baseman Jake Burger went 3-for-4 with a solo home run and a double in Sunday's 4-2 win against the Nationals. This was his second home run of the week, and his sixth since returning to the major leagues on May 12. In those 26 games, he's batting .260 with a 20.2% strikeout rate. That's far from the .186 average and 30.5% strikeout rate he posted before the demotion to Triple-A, so it looks like he is turning his season around. The slugger was a top-125 pick during draft season and shouldn't be sitting on the waiver wire any longer.

Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw allowed six hits and one earned run over five innings in Sunday's 7-3 road win against the St. Louis Cardinals. The 37-year-old struck out seven and walked none to pick up his first win of 2025 (1-0). The lone blemish against him came in the bottom of the fifth inning when Cardinals' shortstop Masyn Winn doubled home teammate Alec Burleson. Kershaw came into this start with eight strikeouts over his first 15 2/3 innings, so it was nice to see him tally a season-high in that regard, inducing 12 swings-and-misses for a solid 33% CSW. He'll bring an inflated 4.35 ERA and 1.55 WHIP into his next outing, a meeting with the visiting San Francisco Giants later this week.

Philadelphia Phillies starting pitcher Cristopher Sanchez pitched well but got handed the loss in a 2-1 defeat to Paul Skenes and the Pirates on Sunday. He allowed two runs on six hits and two walks while striking out nine over seven innings. The 28-year-old has been rock solid all season long, as he's allowed more than three runs in a start only one time. This was his seventh quality start in 13 tries, and he now has a 3.10 ERA and 1.29 WHIP on the season. The lefty will look to keep things rolling in his next start, currently set to be against the Blue Jays.

New York Mets first baseman Pete Alonso hit two home runs as part of a 3-for-6 day at the plate on Sunday. He scored three times and drove in four runs. The slugger has been on fire at the plate as of late, as this brings his homer count to five in the past five games. He's slashing .301/.396/.594 with 17 home runs, 61 RBI, and 41 runs in 66 games. It will be a tough task to beat out Shohei Ohtani, but Alonso has done everything he can to put himself in the discussion for the NL MVP Award and is a top-3 first baseman for fantasy.

New York Mets second baseman Jeff McNeil had a great day at the plate in a 13-5 win against the Rockies on Sunday, going 3-for-6 with two home runs, a double, three runs, and four RBI. The veteran has enjoyed the series in Coors Field, as this was his second straight game where he has left the yard. He's now slashing .257/.355/.533 with six home runs, 17 RBI, and 12 runs through 35 games. The 33-year-old is no longer a threat to hit for a .300 batting average like he was earlier in his career, but he should still provide a solid OBP and good enough counting stats to make him worth rostering as a middle infield option in deep roto leagues.

Seattle Mariners starting pitcher George Kirby was dominant on Sunday in a 3-2 win against the Angels, striking out 14 batters over seven innings. He allowed two runs on two hits, which came on a Taylor Ward home run in the fourth inning. This start certainly put any worries to rest about Kirby taking a step back following his injury, as this was the most strikeouts he's tallied in a game in his career. The matchup against the Angels certainly helped, but it's clear that the 27-year-old is ready to step back into his role as a real-life and fantasy ace. He'll look to keep things rolling in his next start, which is set to be another good matchup against the Guardians.

Kansas City Royals starting pitcher Michael Lorenzen earned his fourth win of the season in a 7-5 victory against the White Sox on Sunday. He pitched a quality start, allowing two runs on one hit and two walks with seven strikeouts over six innings. This was a nice bounce back outing after giving up 13 runs over the past 7 innings in his previous two starts. The seven strikeouts also tied the veteran's season high for an outing, a mark he has achieved four times now. The 33-year-old is best used as a matchup-dependent streamer for fantasy, as he can take advantage of low-scoring teams like the White Sox. He'll carry a 4.94 ERA into his next start against a more dangerous Athletics' lineup.

Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Freddy Peralta bounced back nicely during Sunday's outing against the San Diego Padres. Coming into this start, Peralta had allowed six earned runs over his last two starts. Peralta was sharp in this one as the Padres could barely touch his stuff. The right-hander tossed six shutout innings, allowing one hit, two walks, while striking out three batters in the no-decision. Sadly, the Brewers weren't able to put any runs across the board. Fantasy managers will still take the strong outing by Peralta. He'll take a 2.69 ERA, 1.16 WHIP, and 78/31 K/BB ratio into his next start against the St. Louis Cardinals.

Detroit Tigers starting pitcher Jack Flaherty was once again sharp on the mound during Sunday's game against the Chicago Cubs. Flaherty retired the first nine batters he faced as the Cubs had no answers for him. The right-hander put himself in trouble in the fourth inning, but he was able to work through it without any problems. Flaherty finished this outing by tossing six shutout innings, allowing two hits, three walks, and striking out nine batters in the win. Flaherty has now tossed three straight outings of one earned run or less. He'll take a 3.41 ERA, 1.07 WHIP, and 85 strikeouts into his next start against the Cincinnati Reds.

Houston Astros outfielder Jake Meyers refused to get out during Sunday's game against the Cleveland Guardians. Meyers had two hits during the first two games of this series, but doubled that on Sunday. The 28-year-old went 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, and a run scored in the loss. Meyers has proven to be a consistent contact hitter with decent speed. He's slashing .302/.361/.412 with 10 steals on the season. He should be worth a look in deep leagues and AL-only formats.

Pittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Paul Skenes was once again fantastic on the mound, but didn't get much run support. Skenes had seemingly no issues as he threw 7 innings, allowing only two hits while striking out seven batters in a no-decision. The right-hander has now allowed one earned run or less in six straight starts. During that span, Skenes has earned one win, which is very sad for him. This is looking like another Jacob deGrom on the Mets situation where the offense just can't score runs for their ace pitcher. Fantasy managers can keep running Skenes out there every five days and expect an excellent performance.

Boston Red Sox infielder Marcelo Mayer is out of the starting lineup for the second straight game. Mayer will head to the bench with left-hander Carlos Rodon throwing for the Yankees on Sunday. The 22-year-old appears to be in a straight platoon as he continues to sit out against left-handed pitching. Mayer hasn't exactly been great at the plate, slashing .229/.289/.371 with one home run and two RBI this season. In his absence, Abraham Toro will cover third base and bat sixth against Rodon on Sunday.

Detroit Tigers outfielder Kerry Carpenter (hamstring) made an early exit from Sunday's game against the Chicago Cubs. Carpenter was taken out of the game following a double in the seventh inning. Afterwards, Carpenter admitted that he's still battling through hamstring tightness. That being said, the Tigers are expected to be cautious with Carpenter going forward. The left-handed slugger said he's not expected to miss any action because of the issue. It doesn't appear to be impacting him at the plate at all. Carpenter went 3-for-4 with two doubles during Sunday's win over Chicago.

New York Yankees shortstop Anthony Volpe (elbow) is back at the 6 and is hitting sixth for Sunday's series finale in the Bronx against the division-rival Boston Red Sox and right-hander Hunter Dobbins. After being hit by a pitch on his left elbow early in Friday's game against the BoSox, Volpe was held of action for Saturday's contest. The 24-year-old is back for the series finale, though, and will face a pitcher that none of the Yankees have faced yet. Volpe has provided a decent mix of power and speed for fantasy managers in deep-mixed leagues with eight long balls and seven steals to go along with 37 RBI and 30 runs scored in his 220 at-bats so far in 2025. He hasn't had a multi-hit game since May 24, though, and has gone 8-for-35 (.229) with two homers, a triple, two doubles, nine RBI and four runs scored in 12 games since then.

Miami Marlins manager Clayton McCullough confirmed that right-hander Eury Perez (elbow) will make his 2025 season debut and start on Monday in the series opener against the Pittsburgh Pirates at PNC Park. Perez had Tommy John surgery on his right elbow in April of last year and hasn't appeared in an MLB regular-season game since Sept. 20 of 2023. The 22-year-old showed his upside with a 3.15 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 108:32 K:BB in 91 1/3 innings in his first 19 MLB starts in 2023 and looked great during his minor-league rehab start with a 1.99 ERA and 1.15 WHIP in 22 2/3 frames with Single-A Jupiter and Triple-A Jacksonville over eight start. Although Perez could certainly be rusty against big-league hitters upon his return, the upside is pretty tempting right away to use him in starting lineups on Monday in a great matchup against the Pirates.

Atlanta Braves relief pitcher Raisel Iglesias has been reportedly removed from the primary closer role. Braves manager Brian Snitker told reporters on Friday that Iglesias won't be the closer going forward. This move isn't shocking considering Iglesias holds a 6.75 ERA, 1.54 WHIP, and 25/6 K/BB ratio this season. He's only 8-for-12 in save situations, so the Braves have decided to shake it up. It's unclear who the Braves are going to use in the ninth inning now. Pierce Johnson got the save chance on Saturday, but gave up a walk-off home run to Matt Chapman. It'll probably be a committee, so there isn't a clear pickup for fantasy purposes. Iglesias will certainly lose fantasy value with him being removed from the closer role.

Baltimore Orioles infielder Jordan Westburg (hamstring) appears to be on the verge of returning to the big league roster. Westburg has been crushing the ball in the minors during his rehab assignment. He's slashing .360/.429/.760 with two home runs and five RBI across 28 plate appearances. Recently, O's interim manager Tony Mansolino told reporters Westburg is trending towards a return on Tuesday. That would be great considering Westburg has been sidelined since late April due to a hamstring strain. Fantasy managers should check back for another update on his status.

Athletics outfielder Denzel Clarke (shoulder) will make his way back into the starting lineup ahead of Sunday's game against the Baltimore Orioles. Clarke sat out of Saturday's contest after suffering a shoulder contusion on Friday. It's a bit surprising to see Clarke back after only one game, but that's good news for the A's. Clarke has been hot lately, slashing .333/.379/.481 over his last eight games. Clarke will cover center field and bat ninth versus right-hander Tomoyuki Sugano on Sunday.

Seattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh will head to the bench ahead of Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Angels. This is a well deserved rest day for Raleigh who is in the middle of a hot stretch at the plate. The switch-hitting catcher blasted two home runs during Friday's contest. In his absence, Mitch Garver will start behind the plate and bat cleanup versus left-hander Tyler Anderson. Garver does hit better versus left-handed pitching, but isn't someone worth rostering as a part-time player. Fantasy managers should adjust their lineups ahead of first pitch.
