The Colorado Rockies are promoting outfield prospect Charlie Condon to Double-A. The Rockies selected Condon out of Georgia last season with the third overall pick in the MLB Draft. Following the draft, Condon spent time with High-A Spokane. During this brief stint (25 games), Condon held a .180/.248/.270 line with just four doubles and a long ball. During spring training, Condon suffered a wrist injury that sidelined him through all of April. He made his season debut in the Arizona Complex League in May and needed nine games before returning to High-A. During his second stint with High-A, Condon was much more productive, posting an elite .312/.431.420 slash line with six doubles and three home runs. The 22-year-old will likely spend most of the second half with Double-A. He remains on track to reach the majors in 2026.

New York Yankees second baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr. went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 12-5 win against the Athletics. He also walked and drove in three more runs with a triple -- his first of the season. Chisholm Jr. has been electric since returning from a neck injury in early June. Across the 22 games since, he's slashing a robust .318/.379/.600 with six long balls, four doubles, four steals, 14 runs scored, and 18 RBI. Furthermore, the 27-year-old has garnered playing time at the hot corner recently and made a few solid plays from there in their win against the A's. Colorado Rockies shortstop Orlando Arcia went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in his team's 4-3 win against the hosting Milwaukee Brewers. The Venezuelan native was held hitless through his first three at-bats in Sunday's contest, but made the most of his final trip to the dish. In the top of the ninth, Arcia stepped to the plate and deposited a hanging Trevor Megill breaking ball 386 feet over the wall in left-center field. It was his second of the season, and knotted the score at 2-2 to send the game into extras. He's been dreadful for Colorado this season, boasting a .196/.228/.299 slash line from the bottom of the order. However, a large portion of that has been against right-handed pitching (.175). Chicago White Sox catcher Kyle Teel went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI in his team's 5-2 home win against the San Francisco Giants. He added two singles and a run scored to mark his second three-hit performance in four days. Chicago's No. 2 prospect is still searching for his first big-league homer, but he's picked it up recently to notch four doubles over his last six outings. Professional pitching hasn't appeared too overwhelming for him, though it's worth noting he's been far better against right-handers (.341) than southpaws (.167). It isn't a large sample, but Teel has impressed in his short stint with the Pale Hose, slashing .319/.421/.404 through his first 16 contests. The 22-year-old holds a wildly high 15.1% walk rate thus far, and his .500 xSLG would make him a top 60 player in the metric if he qualified.

Houston Astros starting pitcher Framber Valdez blanked the Chicago Cubs over six innings of work in Sunday's 2-0 home win. He scattered five hits, walked two, and fanned six to improve to 9-4 through 17 starts. The 31-year-old yielded four earned runs to the White Sox back on May 2, but hasn't allowed more than three in the ten appearances since, and recorded nary a loss in that time frame. Valdez's 2.72 ERA is more than a full run lower than his expected one heading into this outing (3.83). However, regression shouldn't hit him too hard when the time comes, according to a 3.18 xFIP. He'll next toe the rubber later this week against the hosting Los Angeles Dodgers.

Cincinnati Reds starting pitcher Nick Lodolo yielded seven hits and one earned run over 5 1/3 innings but did not factor into Sunday's 3-2 win against the San Diego Padres. He struck out five, walked two, and plunked a batter. The former first-round pick has pitched decently over the last few weeks, but was dealt a no-decision in five of his previous seven outings while tossing less than five innings in just two of them. Lodolo has kept his walk rate down this season (4.3%) and holds an 88th percentile chase percentage even though the strikeouts haven't been there. He'll carry a solid 3.52 ERA and 1.15 WHIP (5-5) into his next outing -- a road matchup with the Philadelphia Phillies.

Detroit Tigers ace Tarik Skubal spun his latest gem in a 3-0 victory over the Minnesota Twins on Sunday. Skubal fired seven innings of one-hit ball and tied a career high with 13 strikeouts against one walk to improve to 10-2. The reigning AL Cy Young winner threw the 15 fastest pitches of the night, all of which clocked in at 97.9 mph or higher, and generated 22 swinging strikes. Having already totaled five starts of double-digit strikeouts, Skubal leads the majors with 138 over 109 innings. The left-hander has given out a meager 14 free passes while posting a 2.15 ERA and a league-best 0.83 WHIP. Skubal will get the ball next in a road start against the Cleveland Guardians on Saturday. He was spectacular in a win over the Guardians on May 25, firing a complete-game, two-hit shutout with 13 strikeouts.

The Minnesota Twins have designated infielder Jonah Bride for assignment, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports. This is the second time this season Bride has been in DFA limbo. The Miami Marlins designated him in mid-April before trading him to the Twins for cash considerations. While Bride was versatile enough to see time at both corner infield positions, second base, and even as a mop-up duty pitcher with the Twins, he hit just .214/.282/.243 with three RBI in 78 plate appearances. Between Miami and Minnesota, Bride has batted an abysmal .170/.248/.188 in 125 homer-less trips to the plate this season. Bride started at third on Sunday, but Brooks Lee has gotten the majority of action at the hot corner with Royce Lewis (hamstring) on the 10-day injured list since June 14. Lewis could return on Tuesday to take Bride's place on Minnesota's roster.

Detroit Tigers reliever Will Vest pitched a 1-2-3 ninth inning Sunday to finish off a 3-0 win over the Minnesota Twins. Vest struck out one and needed only eight pitches on the way to his 13th save in 16 chances. The 30-year-old right-hander now owns a 2.37 ERA with 42:10 K:BB and a 0.95 WHIP over 38 frames. Vest is Detroit's preferred option to close games, while Tommy Kahnle is next in line. The Tigers used Kahnle in the eighth on Sunday, and he threw a scoreless inning to tally his 11th hold. Houston Astros closer Josh Hader made quick work of the Chicago Cubs to secure save No. 23 in a 2-0 win Sunday. Hader pitched a 1-2-3 ninth inning with one strikeout over just 11 pitches to clinch a series win for the Astros. Miami Marlins reliever Ronny Henriquez closed out the team's 6-4 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Sunday with a perfect ninth inning. Henriquez retired the side in order on 13 pitches and struck out one to collect his third save. The 25-year-old has gotten the call in two of the Marlins' past three save situations. Calvin Faucher, who leads the team with eight saves, pitched the eighth inning Sunday against the top of the Diamondbacks' order. It didn't work out, as Faucher gave up two earned runs on three hits. He's likely still the Marlins' top choice for saves with Henriquez next in line. Henriquez has logged a 2.93 ERA with 55:16 K:BB, a 1.25 WHIP, and 11 holds in 40 innings.

San Diego Padres closer Robert Suarez came on in a save situation Sunday and ended up taking the loss in a 3-2 final against the Cincinnati Reds. Suarez entered the ninth with a 2-1 lead and allowed four singles, a walk, and two runs while retiring just one hitter. Reds outfielder Will Benson lined a walk-off single to right field to give Suarez his fourth blown save and send him to 2-3 on the season. Suarez is tied for the league lead with 23 saves and has registered a 1.10 WHIP with 36 strikeouts against 12 walks. However, a handful of poor performances have led to a so-so 3.89 ERA in 34 2/3 innings. The 34-year-old will be glad when June ends, as he has been tattooed for nine earned runs on 14 hits over 10 1/3 frames this month.

Los Angeles Angels closer Kenley Jansen suffered his first blown save of the season Sunday in a 7-4 loss to the Washington Nationals. Jansen came in to pitch the top of the ninth with a 4-3 lead and proceeded to allow one run on two hits with an intentional walk and a strikeout. The Angels would go on to lose in the 11th. Jansen had converted all 15 save attempts before Sunday, but he did so despite putting up uninspiring numbers. Through 28 2/3 innings this season, the 37-year-old has posted career worsts in ERA (4.40), strikeouts per nine (8.16 K/9), and WHIP (1.36). That output isn't indicative of a lockdown closer, though Jansen does have a secure hold on the Angels' job.

Detroit Tigers outfielder Kerry Carpenter (hamstring) left the team's 3-0 win over the Minnesota Twins on Sunday with a right hamstring injury. Carpenter will undergo an MRI on Monday, according to Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic. For his part, Carpenter is optimistic that it's not a serious problem. "It feels similar to the last time I had a little issue with it," he said. "The staff here has done a great job of getting me back pretty quickly. We'll see how it goes, but I think we're all pretty optimistic about it." Carpenter tweaked his hamstring in late April and has played through it without requiring a trip to the 10-day injured list. Before exiting Sunday, Carpenter starred with a home run, a triple, and two RBI in a 2-for-3 night. The 27-year-old is batting .257/.285/.494 with 16 homers, 32 RBI, and 40 runs scored over 280 plate appearances.

Washington Nationals closer Kyle Finnegan (1-2) earned his first win of the season in a 7-4 defeat of the Los Angeles Angels on Sunday. Finnegan, who hadn't made an appearance since Wednesday, threw three innings of scoreless, hitless ball with two strikeouts and two walks. He entered in the ninth inning and wound up slamming the door on the Angels in the 11th after Washington took a three-run lead. Finnegan tossed 30 pitches in his second-longest outing of the season and lowered his ERA to 2.61 across 31 frames. Philadelphia Phillies starting pitcher Ranger Suarez earned his seventh win of the season in a 2-1 victory over the Braves on Sunday. He allowed one run on four hits and one walk while striking out eight over seven innings. This was his fifth consecutive start of at least seven innings pitched with two earned runs or fewer. The 29-year-old was one of the best pitchers in baseball during the first half of 2024 before falling off later in the season, but it looks like he has returned to that elite form here in 2025. After allowing seven earned runs in his first start of the season on May 4, he's allowed only nine runs in his ten starts since. The lefty will carry a 2.00 ERA into his next start, currently set to be against the Reds.
