Washington Nationals outfielder Dylan Crews (oblique) is still building up his strength in his injured oblique, according to manager Dave Martinez, and hasn't been able to swing a bat yet or do any baseball activities as he recovers from a strained left oblique. Crews has already missed two weeks with his injury and doesn't appear ready to return from the 10-day injured list anytime soon. Nothing has gone right for the 23-year-old former second overall pick in 2023 out of LSU, as he started his first full season in the big leagues in 2025 by going 31-for-158 (.196), although he has seven home runs, 24 runs scored and 11 stolen bases in 45 games played. If Crews continues to progress slowly from his oblique injury, there's a chance he won't be ready to return until the second half of the season. With Jacob Young (shoulder) also on the IL, Alex Call and prospect Robert Hassell III are receiving everyday playing time in D.C.
From RotoBaller
Athletics general manager David Forst said that the target for first base prospect Nick Kurtz's (hip) return to the team is Monday in Anaheim for the series opener against the division-rival Los Angeles Angels. Kurtz is recovering from a strained left hip flexor and won't resume running until Saturday, but the A's apparently are comfortable with Kurtz returning without going on a minor-league rehab assignment. With the 22-year-old currently on the 10-day injured list, Tyler Soderstrom has moved back to first base from left field, opening up playing time in left field for Drew Avans. Kurtz, the fourth overall pick last year out of Wake Forest was mashing at Triple-A Las Vegas earlier this year, forcing the A's hand to bring him up to the big leagues. When he returns, he'll take over regular first-base duties and return to a .245/.315/.447 slash line with five homers and 15 RBI in his first 28 MLB games.

Detroit Tigers right-hander Reese Olson (finger) received an injection on Tuesday to treat the remaining inflammation in his right ring finger and will resume playing catch on Thursday, according to the Detroit News' Chris McCosky. It's unknown when Olson will be ready to return from the 15-day injured list after landing on the shelf on May 19 with his finger injury. He still needs to get back up on a mound, though, which means Olson probably won't be back in Detroit's starting rotation for at least another couple weeks, even if he foregoes a minor-league rehab assignment. In the meantime, pitching prospect Sawyer Gipson-Long will return from Tommy John and hip surgeries to start on Wednesday versus the Chicago White Sox. Olson was in the midst of his best season as a pro before his injury, going 4-3 with a 2.96 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 51:19 K:BB in nine starts for Detroit.

Miami Marlins manager Clayton McCullough said that right-hander Eury Perez (elbow) will make his final minor-league rehab start on Tuesday with Triple-A Jacksonville and will be reinstated from the 60-day injured list after that, likely to make his 2025 debut in the series against the Pittsburgh Pirates that runs from June 9-11. Fantasy managers should run to the waiver wire and pick up Perez if he's available, even though the 22-year-old could be inconsistent in his return from Tommy John surgery in April of last year. In seven minor-league rehab starts, he posted a 1.96 ERA with an 11.3 K/9 and 3.4 BB/9 in 18 1/3 innings pitched. Perez went five inning (72 pitches and averaged 97.9 mph with his fastball in his most recent rehab start. He will take over the rotation spot of Max Meyer (hip), who went on the IL on Tuesday. Perez looked like a future fantasy ace in his debut season in 2023.
From RotoBaller
Detroit Tigers manager A.J. Hinch said that right-handed pitching prospect Sawyer Gipson-Long (elbow, hip) will make the start on Wednesday against the division-rival Chicago White Sox. Gipson-Long will be making his first big-league start since undergoing Tommy John surgery last April and a hip surgery in July, so even though the matchup is an excellent one, there will be plenty of risk with using the 27-year-old right away as a streamer. Detroit's No. 29 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, posted a solid 2.20 ERA and 0.98 WHIP with 16 punchouts and only two walks in 16 1/3 innings over five minor-league rehab starts over three levels. In his big-league debut in 2023, Gipson-Long had a nice 2.70 ERA and 1.10 WHIP with 26 K's and eight walks in four starts (20 innings). He relies heavily on fastballs that aren't overpowering, limiting his fantasy upside.

Toronto Blue Jays manager John Schneider said that right-handed reliever Yimi Garcia (shoulder) played catch on flat ground on Tuesday. Garcia is throwing for the first time since receiving a cortisone injection in his right shoulder last Monday. Until the 34-year-old resumes throwing off a mound, we won't have a clear timetable for his return from the 15-day injured list from a right-shoulder impingement. Although the Jays aren't too concerned about closer Jeff Hoffman's struggles this year at the back end of the bullpen, Garcia should remain a high-leverage arm for Toronto when he's cleared to return. Before getting injured, he had three saves, a 3.15 ERA, 1.05 WHIP, 24 strikeouts and 10 walks in 20 relief innings with the Jays. Barring a setback as he continues to ramp up his arm, Garcia should have a chance to return to the big-league bullpen in June.

Colorado Rockies shortstop Ezequiel Tovar (oblique) is out of the lineup on Tuesday against the Miami marlins and will also be out in Wednesday's series finale with a left-oblique injury that he suffered in Monday night's win, according to MLB.com's Thomas Harding. The Rockies are off on Thursday, so Tovar's next chance to return to the lineup will be for Friday's series opener at Coors Field against the New York Mets. Colorado said they pulled the 23-year-old as a precaution from Monday's game with a left-side issue, but now that we know it's an oblique pull, it could very well end up landing him on the 10-day injured list. Veteran Orlando Arcia is starting at shortstop on Tuesday and could take over at the 6 if Tovar misses extended time. Tovar has been a disappointment for his fantasy managers through 128 at-bats, hitting .258 with only three home runs, 10 RBI, 14 runs scored and two stolen bases.

San Francisco Giants first base prospect Bryce Eldridge is being promoted to Triple-A Sacramento from Double-A Richmond on Tuesday, according to the San Francisco Chronicle's Susan Slusser. Per MLB Pipeline, Eldridge is the club's top prospect, and given the team's needs at the big-league level, he could make his MLB debut this year sooner than later if he continues to hit at Sacramento. The 20-year-old former 16th overall pick in 2023 has big power and was hitting .280 (35-for-125) with 20 RBI and 14 runs scored in his 34 games at Richmond to earn a minor-league promotion to the highest level. He has recovered nicely from a wrist injury that kept him out earlier this season and figures to make his major-league debut at some point this year as long as he doesn't tank at Triple-A. The former two-way star is the future at first base in San Francisco.
From RotoBaller
San Diego Padres outfielder Gavin Sheets (head) is serving as the designated hitter and batting fifth on Tuesday against the division-rival San Francisco Giants and right-hander Landen Roupp at Oracle Park. Sheets took Monday's series-opener win in San Francisco off after running into the left-field fence full speed in Sunday's win over the Pittsburgh Pirates and leaving the game early. The 29-year-old apparently cleared the league's concussion protocol and might only be dealing with a bruised ego after a face-first collision with the wall. While he's surprisingly been one of the Friars' hotter bats so far in 2025, Sheets has two hits in his last 18 at-bats over seven games to drop his season slash line to .266/.321/.492 with an .813 OPS. Sheets has provided plenty of pop with 11 long balls and 34 RBI in 177 at-bats. He's hitless in just one career at-bats versus Roupp.
From RotoBaller
The San Francisco Giants placed right-hander Jordan Hicks (toe) on the 15-day injured list on Tuesday with right-toe inflammation and recalled pitcher Sean Hjelle from Triple-A Sacramento in a corresponding move, according to the San Francisco Chronicle's John Shea. Hicks lost the majority of his fantasy value when he was demoted from the starting rotation to the bullpen in San Francisco, and now he's falling further with a trip to the IL. It's unclear if the 28-year-old hard-throwing right-hander will be able to come off the IL when he's eligible in a couple of weeks. Since moving to a relief role, he allowed two earned runs in 3 1/3 innings, and Hicks has a disappointing 1-5 record, 6.47 ERA and 1.54 WHIP with 43 strikeouts and 20 walks in 48 2/3 innings over 13 appearances (nine starts) in his second year with the Gigantes.
From RotoBaller
Kansas City Royals third baseman Maikel Garcia (thumb) is back at third base and is hitting third for the Royals in Tuesday's contest against the St. Louis Cardinals and right-hander Andre Pallante at Busch Stadium. Garcia will return to action after being scratched from Sunday's lineup in the series finale against the Detroit Tigers, but he's back in there after a travel day on Monday. He gets a matchup against Pallante, who he is hitting .222 against in just nine career at-bats. The 25-year-old Venezuelan has been swinging a hot bat this year for the Royals as their regular third baseman, slashing .316/.378/.474 with an .851 OPS, five home runs, 25 RBI, 24 runs scored and 10 stolen bases in 209 at-bats. His lack of power doesn't make him a high-end fantasy third baseman, but he's useful as corner-infield depth in deeper leagues. Garcia snapped 14-game hitting streak with an 0-for-3 performance on Saturday.
From RotoBaller
Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow (shoulder) is reportedly feeling better from a shoulder issue that has sidelined him since late April. Glasnow is currently aiming to throw a bullpen session later this week. That's good news after it was recently reportedly that Glasnow wasn't making progress. The hope is that Glasnow can throw later in the week and can get on a throwing program going forward. It seems likely that Glasnow is going to be sidelined until late July or possibly August. The 31-year-old still needs to build up strength and stamina before he can return to the Dodgers rotation.
From RotoBaller
New York Mets third baseman Mark Vientos (hamstring) has been placed on the 10-day injured list on Tuesday. Vientos suffered a right hamstring strain during Monday's win over the Los Angeles Dodgers. It's unclear how long Vientos will be sidelined, but hamstring issues usually take at least a few weeks. In a corresponding move, infielder Ronny Mauricio has been recalled from Triple-A Syracuse. The expectation is that Brett Baty and Mauricio will split up the playing time at third base while Vientos is out. Between the two, Baty is the more attractive fantasy option.
From RotoBaller
Kansas City Royals starting pitcher Cole Ragans (groin) will be activated off the 15-day injured list to start against the St. Louis Cardinals on Thursday. Ragans will finally make his return to the mound after missing nearly three weeks of action due to a left groin strain. The return of Ragans should be both a boost to fantasy managers and the Royals rotation. He posted a 4.53 ERA in nine starts before going down in mid-May. Fantasy managers should prepare to take him off their IL on Thursday.
From RotoBaller
Athletics infielder Jacob Wilson (neck) is out of the starting lineup ahead of Tuesday's game against the Minnesota Twins. It's not shocking to see Wilson getting a rest day after suffering a neck injury during Monday's contest. It sounds like a minor issue, so for now fantasy managers should consider Wilson as day-to-day. Wilson has been excellent, so fantasy managers should hold him through the injury. Max Schuemann will cover shortstop and bat seventh versus right-hander Pablo Lopez on Tuesday.
From RotoBaller
Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Mookie Betts (toe) is back in the starting lineup ahead of Tuesday's game against the New York Mets. Betts will make his return to the lineup after missing the last four games due to a fractured toe. Luckily, Betts didn't need to be placed on the injured list from this injury. It appears Betts is fully healthy again, so the expectation is that his toe won't impact his performance on the field. He's slashing .254/.338/.405 with eight home runs and 31 RBI through 53 games this season. Betts will cover shortstop and bat second versus right-hander Tylor Megill on Tuesday. Fantasy managers should adjust their lineups and get Betts back in there ahead of first pitch.
From RotoBaller
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. is out of the starting lineup ahead of Tuesday's game against the Detroit Tigers. White Sox manager Will Venable said Robert won't start on Tuesday or Wednesday. The team is giving him a few days off to work through some problems. Robert is currently in the middle of a 1-for-20 stretch at the plate. He's slashing .177/.266/.286 on the season, so hopefully a little time off will help him get back on track. Michael A. Taylor will bat eighth and cover center field versus right-hander Beau Brieske on Tuesday.
From RotoBaller
Kansas City Royals first base prospect Jac Caglianone is serving as the designated hitter and batting sixth in his major-league debut on Tuesday in St. Louis against the Cardinals and right-hander Andre Pallante. Caglianone arrives to much fanfare as MLB Pipeline's 10th overall prospect in all of baseball. The 22-year-old left-handed slugger was taken sixth overall last year out of Florida and was hitting a combined .322/.389/.593 with a .982 OPS, 15 long balls, 56 RBI, 41 runs scored and two stolen bases in 50 games with Double-A Northwest Arkansas and Triple-A Omaha before his call-up. Caglianone, who can also play the outfield, is expected to see most of his playing time in KC in right field initially, but he can also work in at DH and first base. There's elite power and athleticism here, making Caglianone a must-roster player in all fantasy leagues right away.
From RotoBaller
Texas Rangers slumping outfielder Adolis Garcia will start yet another game on the bench on Tuesday against the Tampa Bay Rays at George M. Steinbrenner Field. Alejandro Osuna is starting in right field and will bat fifth against Rays right-hander Drew Rasmussen. The Rangers are giving Garcia a mental break for the fourth straight game during a season-long slump to this point. The 32-year-old Cuban outfielder and former two-time All-Star has slashed .208/.256/.371 with seven home runs, 27 RBI, 16 runs scored, five stolen bases, 11 walks and 57 strikeouts in 215 plate appearances. He was even worse in May, slashing .189/.224/.333 with a near-30% strikeout rate in 26 games. As the Rangers are doing, fantasy managers need to follow suit and continue to keep Garcia on the bench. It's unclear when he'll return to action.
From RotoBaller
Toronto Blue Jays outfielder/designated hitter Anthony Santander (shoulder) received a platelet-rich plasma injection in his injured left shoulder and will take five to seven days off before throwing and ramping up, according to The Athletic's Mitch Bannon. Santander is currently on the 10-day injured list and probably won't be able to return when he's eligible if he's shut down for around a week. However, barring a setback when he resumes baseball activities, it's possible he could be back in Toronto before the end of June, even if he goes on a minor-league rehab assignment. Considering all the money the Jays gave the 30-year-old switch-hitter in free agency, they probably won't be rushing him back before he's ready. With Daulton Varsho also on the IL, Addison Barger, Nathan Lukes and Myles Straw should see more playing time in the outfield for Toronto.
