Mike Trout Sun Jun 29 12:40am CT

Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in his team's 8-2 win against the visiting Washington Nationals. He also drew a walk and struck out. The 33-year-old clobbered his thirteenth long ball of the season off Nationals' reliever Zach Brzykcy to tie the score at two apiece, and kick off what would be a six-run seventh inning. Trout's overall .231/.345/.447 season line doesn't appear noteworthy at first glance, but he's been much better in June (.272/.423/.383) aside from the lack of extra-base hits. Furthermore, he boasts his best average exit velocity (92.5 MPH) and hard-hit rate (54.1%) since 2020. Expect his average to continue rising.

Jonathan Aranda Sun Jun 29 12:30am CT

Tampa Bay Rays first baseman Jonathan Aranda went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Saturday's 11-3 road win against the Baltimore Orioles. He also walked and struck out. Tampa Bay jumped on Orioles' starter Zach Eflin early, scoring four runs in the top of the first, which Aranda supplied half of. His tenth homer of the season left the bat at a scorching 111.1 MPH and landed outside the stadium a whopping 467 feet away. The 27-year-old is enjoying a breakout season at the dish, with a 99th percentile .316 xBA and various other quality of contact metrics and expected stats in the top 10% of hitters. Aranda sports a blistering .330/.411/.504 triple slash through 78 appearances.

Gavin Sheets Sun Jun 29 12:20am CT

San Diego Padres outfielder Gavin Sheets went 3-for-5 with a three-run home run in his team's 6-4 victory over the hosting Cincinnati Reds. He added two doubles. Sheets is up to seven two-baggers in the month and has chipped in two dingers and a triple for good measure. Despite racking up the extra-base hits, the Wake Forest product's production has dipped some in June (.258) compared to the month prior (.275). Still, he has significantly improved his quality of contact metrics this season and is right on his .266 xBA (.265). Sheets' move to San Diego has suited him well, as he's set to smash personal bests across the board while batting in the heart of the Friars' order.

Kyle Tucker Sun Jun 29 12:00am CT

Chicago Cubs outfielder Kyle Tucker went 4-for-5 with a three-run home run in Saturday's 12-3 win against the Houston Astros. He also singled twice, doubled, stole a base, and scored four times. The fantasy superstar put up an enormous box score against his former team, mashing homer No. 17, and bringing his theft total to 20. Tucker is crushing in June to the tune of a .314/.410/.581 slash line with five long balls, eight doubles, four steals, 13 RBI, and 18 runs scored. He's up to a .291 average in his first season with Chicago, and has largely been worth his selection in fantasy drafts earlier this year.

Tyler Glasnow Sat Jun 28 11:50pm CT

The Los Angeles Times' Jack Harris reports that Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow (shoulder) will likely need two more rehab appearances before rejoining the big-league squad. Glasnow built up to 66 pitches in his second outing back from a shoulder issue that cropped up late in April. However, per manager Dave Roberts, they'd have liked for him to have gotten through four innings (2 1/3), so he'll continue building back up over the next few turns. Unless something changes, the California native figures to return to the Dodgers following the All-Star break. He boasted a 4.50 ERA and 1.28 WHIP across his first five starts before the injury.

Sandy Alcantara Sat Jun 28 10:00pm CT

Miami Marlins right-hander Sandy Alcantara was hit around in an 8-7 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Saturday. Alcantara yielded seven earned runs on a season-worst 10 hits with four strikeouts and no walks in six innings. He did not factor into the decision. The former Cy Young winner had gone four straight starts with at least five innings pitched and two or fewer runs allowed. However, his ERA now sits at an unsightly 6.98 with a 1.48 WHIP and 63:34 K:BB across 80 frames. The 29-year-old has been prone to blowups, having surrendered five or more earned runs six times in 16 outings. He's scheduled to take the mound July 4 against a respectable Milwaukee Brewers offense.

Brent Rooker Sat Jun 28 10:00pm CT

Athletics designated hitter/outfielder Brent Rooker mashed his 17th home run of the season in the club's 7-0 blowout of the New York Yankees on Saturday. Rooker's fourth-inning solo blast off right-hander Clarke Schmidt was his lone hit in a 1-for-4 day. He also reached base on a walk. The 30-year-old slugger is batting a productive .271/.348/.485 with 44 RBI, 52 runs scored, and a career-best 20.8% strikeout rate in 371 plate appearances. While Rooker is still behind last year's 39-HR, 112-RBI pace, it bodes well that he ranks in the league's 92nd percentile or better in xBA, xwOBA, and xSLG.

Quinn Priester Sat Jun 28 9:50pm CT

Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Quinn Priester turned in the best performance of his young career in a 5-0 victory over the Colorado Rockies on Saturday. The 24-year-old improved to 6-2 after throwing seven innings of scoreless ball with one hit allowed and 11 strikeouts against two walks. Michael Toglia's fifth-inning single was all the Rockies could muster against Priester, who threw 95 pitches and got 20 swinging strikes. It was a fantastic ending to a terrific June for Priester. He threw 27 innings this month and allowed just six earned runs. He'll head into July with a 3.35 ERA, 61:26 K:BB, and a 1.23 WHIP over 78 frames. Priester could begin next month on a high note with a start against the Miami Marlins on the 4th.

Robert Suarez Sat Jun 28 9:30pm CT

San Diego Padres closer Robert Suarez worked into and out of trouble Saturday to pick up his league-best 23rd save in a 6-4 win over the Cincinnati Reds. Suarez put two runners on with walks, but he retired the other three hitters he faced in a 22-pitch ninth inning. The hard-throwing 34-year-old logged two strikeouts, including a punchout of Spencer Steer to end the game. Suarez lowered his ERA to 3.41 with a 0.96 WHIP and 36:11 K:BB over 34 1/3 innings. Along the way, Suarez has blown just two of his 25 save attempts - good for a 92% success rate.

Sean Murphy Sat Jun 28 9:30pm CT

Atlanta Braves catcher Sean Murphy walloped a grand slam in the club's 6-1 win over the Philadelphia Phillies on Saturday. Murphy came up with the Braves leading 2-1 in the bottom of the seventh and put the game out of reach with a 455-foot bomb off right-hander Jordan Romano. It was his first homer since May 29. He also doubled during a 2-for-4 night. Murphy is now hitting .225/.319/.450 with 10 HRs, 26 RBI, and 16 runs scored in 185 plate appearances. The former All-Star is one of eight catchers with double-digit HRs this year. However, being stuck in a timeshare with Drake Baldwin puts a damper on his fantasy value.

    From RotoBaller

Spencer Schwellenbach Sat Jun 28 9:10pm CT

Atlanta Braves right-hander Spencer Schwellenbach dominated the Philadelphia Phillies in a 6-1 victory on Saturday. Schwellenbach (7-4) collected his seventh win after striking out a career-high 12 hitters while holding the Braves to one run on three hits and a walk. The 24-year-old has recorded double-digit strikeouts four times this season and amassed 13 quality starts in 17 tries. Boasting a 3.09 ERA with a 0.97 WHIP and 108:18 K:BB over a league-high 110 2/3 innings, Schwellenbach has emerged as a must-start for fantasy managers. He's scheduled to take on the Baltimore Orioles on July 4.

Shohei Ohtani Sat Jun 28 8:50pm CT

Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani took the mound as the opener for Saturday's game against the Kansas City Royals. Ohtani tossed two scoreless innings, allowing one hit, one walk, and striking out one batter in the no-decision. The right-hander was able to touch 102 mph on his fastball, and he threw 20-of-27 total pitches for strikes. The plan was always for Ohtani to be done after two innings as the Dodgers are going to slowly ramp him up. He also went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts at the plate in this one. The pitcher version of Ohtani might not offer solid fantasy value until a little later in the season.

    From RotoBaller

Roman Anthony Sat Jun 28 8:40pm CT

Boston Red Sox outfielder Roman Anthony came ready to swing the bat during Saturday's game against the Toronto Blue Jays. Anthony recorded a single in the second inning, but the fun didn't stop there. He would double in the fifth and eighth inning, which resulted in a 3-for-6 day at the plate for Anthony. It was his first multi-hit game of his young career. Anthony is 7-for-26 at the plate with four doubles and one RBI since being called up earlier this month.

    From RotoBaller

Freddie Freeman Sat Jun 28 8:40pm CT

Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman had a productive day at the plate during Saturday's game against the Kansas City Royals. Freeman couldn't do anything wrong at the plate as he reached base five times in this one. He blasted a home run in the seventh inning to get his team on the board. It was his 10th of the season as the home run numbers haven't quite been there for Freeman this season. He finished this game 3-for-3 with a home run, two walks, and two runs scored in the loss.

    From RotoBaller

Ryan Helsley Sat Jun 28 8:30pm CT

St. Louis Cardinals relief pitcher Ryan Helsley was called upon with a comfortable three-run lead during Saturday's game against the Cleveland Guardians. Helsley didn't have any issues as he retired all three batters also recording one strikeout as he notched his 16th save of the season. The 30-year-old continues to be a reliable option as closer, but is at risk of being traded at the deadline. Possibly, a trade would help his value. Regardless, Helsley should be rostered in basically all fantasy formats

    From RotoBaller

Shelby Miller Sat Jun 28 8:10pm CT

Arizona Diamondbacks relief pitcher Shelby Miller was called upon with a one-run lead in the ninth inning of Saturday's game against the Miami Marlins. Miller gave up a hit to Dane Myers who would eventually come around to score on a sacrifice fly to tie the game. The veteran right-hander was able to get out of the inning with only one earned run and struck out two batters. Despite the blown save, Miller has only been scored on twice this month. The D-Backs have a banged up bullpen, so Miller remains the favorite for saves going forward.

    From RotoBaller

Zach Neto Sat Jun 28 8:10pm CT

Los Angeles Angels shortstop Zach Neto (shoulder) remains out of the starting lineup ahead of Saturday's game against the Washington Nationals. Neto is out of the starting lineup for the third straight game due to a shoulder issue. It's worth noting that Neto did enter Friday's game as a pinch hitter. Neto didn't play the field at all, but it sounds like he should be back soon. Kevin Newman will cover shortstop and bat ninth versus right-hander Mike Soroka on Saturday. Fantasy managers should check back on Sunday for another update on his status.

    From RotoBaller

Nick Kurtz Sat Jun 28 5:50pm CT

Athletics first baseman Nick Kurtz extended his hitting streak to four games during Saturday's contest against the New York Yankees. It was a quiet game from Kurtz until he blasted a three-run home run off right-hander Clarke Schmidt in the sixth inning. Kurtz has been crushing the ball lately with seven home runs over his last 13 games. He finished this game 1-for-4 with a homer, three RBI, and a walk in the 7-0 win. Kurtz has been hot with the bat lately and should be picking up steam on the waiver wire.

    From RotoBaller

Drake Baldwin Sat Jun 28 5:40pm CT

Atlanta Braves catcher Drake Baldwin is headed to the bench ahead of Saturday's game against the Philadelphia Phillies. Baldwin is absent after starting in three of the last four games. During that span, Baldwin has gone 1-for-10 at the plate, so he could use a day off to reset. In his absence, Sean Murphy will do the catching and bat sixth versus left-hander Jesus Luzardo on Saturday. Baldwin doesn't see enough playing time to warrant rostering in anything more than deep leagues.

    From RotoBaller

JP Sears Sat Jun 28 5:40pm CT

Athletics starting pitcher JP Sears was sharp on the mound during Saturday's game against the New York Yankees. Sears has been hit around quite a bit lately, but put together arguably his best performance of the season on Saturday. Sears tossed 5 scoreless innings, allowing two hits, walking three batters, and striking out four in the win. He handed the ball over to Jack Perkins who helped stop the Yankees offense and complete the 7-0 shutout. Sears will take a 5.09 ERA into his next outing against the San Francisco Giants. He's really only worth looking at in deep leagues right now.
