Spencer Jones Mon Jun 23 10:20pm CT

New York Yankees outfield prospect Spencer Jones was named Eastern League Player of the Week for his performance last week at Double-A Somerset. The Yankees' second-ranked prospect went 10-for-21 (.476) with a double, three home runs, eight RBI, six runs scored, two steals, and a 7:6 BB:K over six games for the Patriots. The surge helped push his season-long slash line to .272/.395/.599 with 15 home runs and 10 stolen bases over 46 games. The 33.3 percent strikeout rate is a concern, however, the power and a phenomenal 16.4 percent walk rate help offset it. It's even an improvement over the 36.8 percent strikeout rate from 2024, and now with 185 games at Double-A under his belt, a jump to Triple-A should be on the horizon. If the 6-foot-7 slugger can show progress in regards to the K% over the remainder of the season, a late-season MLB debut could even be in the cards.

Corbin Carroll Mon Jun 23 10:10pm CT

Arizona Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said that outfielder Corbin Carroll (hand) has a "chip fracture" on the back of his left hand and will land on the 10-day injured list. The Diamondbacks are still determining how long Carroll might be out, but he's at least going to miss the next 10 days and probably longer. With the All-Star break coming in mid-July, fantasy managers probably shouldn't expect the 24-year-old former National League Rookie of the Year to return until the second half of the season. Until then, keep Carroll stashed in an IL spot in all formats. The former first-rounder has bounced back in 2025 after a disappointing 2024 season and is currently slashing .255/.341/.573 with a .914 OPS, 20 homers, 44 RBI, 57 runs and 10 stolen bases. In his absence, Randal Grichuk could be a lineup regular in Arizona in right field.

Carter Jensen Mon Jun 23 10:10pm CT

Kansas City Royals catching prospect Carter Jensen has been promoted to Triple-A Omaha. The Royals' third-ranked prospect hit .292 with six home runs and seven steals in 68 games, recording the most hits in the Texas League (80), while his four triples, 37 RBI, and 40 runs scored rank in the top five in the league. The 21-year-old is coming off a 2024 campaign in which he hit 18 home runs with 17 steals in 125 games, so there is power that should continue to grow and above-average speed for his position. Look for him to make a run at a September promotion for his big league debut if he shows well at Triple-A, otherwise, the former third-round draft pick should be in the mix for an MLB debut in 2026.

Michael Arroyo Mon Jun 23 10:00pm CT

Seattle Mariners infield prospect Michael Arroyo is headed to Double-A Arkansas after a strong 65-game stint at High-A to begin the year. The Mariners' seventh-ranked prospect slashed .269/.422/.512 with 15 home runs and a solid 12.7 percent walk rate. The 20-year-old hit 23 home runs in 485 at-bats last year between Single-A and High-A, while swiping 18 bases. He looks to be on track to exceed that home run total from last season, but the steals have dipped, recording just three this year and on pace for only six. The diminutive Colombian has solid all-around tools and an ETA of 2026 per MLB's top prospects list, so his progress is worth keeping tabs on.

Lazaro Montes Mon Jun 23 9:40pm CT

Seattle Mariners outfield prospect Lazaro Montes is being promoted to Double-A Arkansas. The Mariners' second-ranked prospect was hitting .268 at High-A with four home runs over his last four games before the promotion. The 20-year-old's 18 home runs, 50 RBI, .572 SLG, and .959 OPS led the Northwest League so far in 2025. While a 27.6 percent strikeout is on the high side, it is somewhat offset by his strong 15.9 percent walk rate. The 6-foot-5 slugger is coming off a 21-homer campaign in 2024 as a 19-year-old, and look for him to show off the prodigious power at Double-A. The left-hand-hitting Cuban could be knocking on the door to majors sometime next season, so dynasty managers should keep a close eye on how he performs over the rest of 2025.

Josh Naylor Mon Jun 23 9:20pm CT

Arizona Diamondbacks first baseman Josh Naylor (shoulder) left Monday's contest against the Chicago White Sox early with right-shoulder discomfort and is considered day-to-day, according to the team. Naylor looked to be in pain after an aggressive swing in the top of the second inning and was replaced at first base by rookie Tim Tawa. Before leaving, the 28-year-old left-handed slugger went 1-for-3 with a double, two RBI and a strikeout. Third baseman Eugenio Suarez (hand) also left this game after being hit on the hand by a pitch, but X-rays came back negative. The D-backs will likely send Naylor for an MRI exam to rule out any structural damage, and if he were to miss extended time, Pavin Smith would become the starting first baseman. Although he has only nine homers, Naylor has swung the bat well in his first season in the season in the desert, entering Monday with a .303 average, 49 RBI and 10 steals.

Kyle Wright Mon Jun 23 9:20pm CT

The Kansas City Royals announced on Monday that they reinstated right-hander Kyle Wright (shoulder) from the 15-day injured list and optioned him to Triple-A Omaha. Wright has recovered from right-shoulder surgery that he had in October of 2023, but he'll have to wait to appear in a big-league game for the first time since that same season. The 29-year-old wasn't exactly sharp in eight minor-league rehab starts, recording a 5.48 ERA and 1.56 WHIP with 21 strikeouts and 14 walks in 23 innings pitched at Omaha and Double-A Northwest Arkansas. The Royals will likely continue to stretch Wright out in a starting role in the minors to give them additional starting depth later in the season. Outside of a 21-win season for the Atlanta Braves in 2022, Wright has had little success and limited experience in his six big-league seasons.

Dylan Crews Mon Jun 23 9:10pm CT

Washington Nationals outfielder Dylan Crews (oblique) is still very limited in the extent of his rehab but feels like he is almost ready to ramp things up, reports Mark Zuckerman of MASN. The 23-year-old hasn't yet been cleared to take full swings as Washington continues a very cautious approach, but Crews is happy with how he feels. The former top prospect has been on the injured list since May 22 with a left oblique strain, which usually requires a lengthier recovery than other similarly severe injuries. He was batting just .196 in 45 games on the season, but was showing some signs of improvement over the few weeks prior to the injury.

    From RotoBaller

Jacob Young Mon Jun 23 9:00pm CT

Washington Nationals outfielder Jacob Young has been encouraged to keep attempting steals despite the lack of success, reports Mark Zuckerman of MASN. The speedster has been caught stealing in eight of his 13 attempts on the season, compared to being caught 10 times out of 43 attempts in 2024. Speed definitely isn't the issue, as the 25-year-old's 29.2 feet per second sprint speed ranks in the 94th percentile. One issue he has dealt with recently is losing the grip on the bag and over-sliding, turning stolen bases into free outs for the defense. It's encouraging to see the Nationals still pushing him to run, and he could be a fringe option in deep five-outfielder leagues once he does start finding success on the basepaths again.

Wander Franco Mon Jun 23 8:50pm CT

Tampa Bay Rays shortstop Wander Franco is expected to have the verdict of his trial announced on Thursday, reports Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times. Franco is facing a long list of charges including sexual abuse and exploitation of a minor and has been on the restricted list since 2023. Regardless of the verdict of the trial, Major League Baseball is performing a concurrent investigation of the incident that would likely result in a suspension anyway. Returning to baseball is looking extremely unlikely for the former star, whether he avoids prison time or not.

    From RotoBaller

Kameron Misner Mon Jun 23 8:40pm CT

Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Kameron Misner was optioned to Triple-A Durham on Monday. The move made room for Chandler Simpson's return to the major leagues. There was a time this season when Misner looked like the better option between the two, but he's batted only .172 over the past 30 days. The four home runs and seven steals he produced in the first two months of the season made him a fantasy-relevant option for deeper leagues, but he'll have to return to that form in the minors to earn another crack at the big league roster.

    From RotoBaller

Austin Hays Mon Jun 23 8:30pm CT

Cincinnati Reds outfielder Austin Hays (foot) will begin a rehab assignment on Tuesday with Double-A Chattanooga, reports Gordon Wittenmyer of the Cincinnati Enquirer. The plan is for him to be re-evaluated on Thursday with the potential to be activated on Friday. The 29-year-old has struggled to stay healthy this season, with his most recent IL-stint beginning on May 30 with a bone bruise in his foot. The Reds' newcomer has been great when healthy, batting .303 with six home runs in 31 games, so he's someone to target in five-outfielder leagues if you need the help.

Miguel Amaya Mon Jun 23 8:20pm CT

Chicago Cubs catcher Miguel Amaya (oblique) has begun hitting and throwing and is targeting a return date around the All-Star break, reports Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports Network. The 26-year-old has been on the injured list since May 24 with a strained left oblique, which is typically a tricky injury to come back from. The fact that he's throwing and hitting without issue is a good sign, and he could be on the verge of a rehab assignment within the next couple of weeks. There was a brief time at the beginning of the season when he looked like the go-to option behind the dish for the Cubs, but Carson Kelly's offensive success relegated Amaya to playing every other day, at most.

Eugenio Suarez Mon Jun 23 8:00pm CT

Arizona Diamondbacks third baseman Eugenio Suarez (hand) was pulled early from Monday's game against the Chicago White Sox in the bottom of the first inning after being hit on his right hand by a 96 mph fastball from right-hander Shane Smith, according to SI.com's Jack Sommers. Suarez was in a great deal of pain and will be sent for X-rays to check for any breaks or fractures, so fantasy managers will want to check back later for any updates on his condition. He was replaced at third by Ildemaro Vargas. Losing the 33-year-old veteran right-handed slugger for any amount of time would be a big blow to the D-backs and fantasy managers, as Suarez came into Monday's action ranked fourth in baseball with 25 home runs. He's also hitting .251/.321/.569 with an .890 OPS, 67 RBI, 48 runs scored and a steal in 2025. If Suarez goes on the injured list, Jordan Lawlar could rejoin the big-league roster.UPDATE: X-rays came back negative on Suarez's hand.

Jose Siri Mon Jun 23 7:40pm CT

The New York Mets announced on Monday that they transferred outfielder Jose Siri (leg) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day injured list. The team also selected the contract of outfielder Travis Jankowski from Triple-A Syracuse after Sunday's game. Siri is dealing with a fractured left tibia and remains shut down from baseball activities, meaning he isn't particularly close to returning to the big-league roster. He won't be back before the mid-July All-Star break, and it's possible that his absence stretches into August. The 29-year-old Dominican outfielder had just one hit in 20 at-bats with an RBI, two steals and five runs scored before his injury. When Siri does return to the Mets, he's most likely to serve as a backup option and late-game defensive replacement in center field. Siri will be a bench option in NL-only leagues when he's fully healed.

Kodai Senga Mon Jun 23 7:20pm CT

New York Mets right-hander Kodai Senga (hamstring) was scheduled to play catch off a mound on Monday, according to MLB.com's Anthony DiComo. Senga has been able to keep his arm moving after suffering a Grade 1 right-hamstring strain on June 12 in his start against the Washington Nationals. Although the 32-year-old's hamstring strain is mild, the Mets aren't going to rush him back and he's not expected to rejoin the big-league starting rotation until after the mid-July All-Star break. Fantasy managers must remain patient until then and keep him stashed in an injured-list spot in all leagues. Senga made only one start in his second year in the big leagues in 2024 due to injury. He hasn't been able to avoid injury this year, either, but he's gone 7-3 with a strong 1.47 ERA and 1.11 WHIP with 70 K's and 31 walks in 13 starts (73 2/3 innings) this year.

    From RotoBaller

Mark Vientos Mon Jun 23 7:20pm CT

New York Mets third baseman Mark Vientos (hamstring) is scheduled to play Tuesday and Wednesday on his minor-league rehab assignment at Triple-A Syracuse, according to MLB.com's Anthony DiComo. Barring a setback, the earliest Vientos will return to the Mets' big-league roster will be for this weekend's series against the Pittsburgh Pirates. The 25-year-old was hitting a disappointing .230 (43-for-187) with six home runs, 21 RBI and 22 runs scored before straining his right hamstring, and he's gone just 2-for-17 with a double through four rehab games with Syracuse. Although Ronny Mauricio hasn't exactly taken advantage of extra playing time at the hot corner in Queens with Vientos sidelined, the two could form a platoon at third for the Mets once Vientos returns if Vientos can't get going at the plate.

Brandon Woodruff Mon Jun 23 7:10pm CT

Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Brandon Woodruff (elbow) threw a 60-pitch simulated game on Monday, and his next step will be another minor-league rehab start of around 80 pitches, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's Curt Hogg. The Brewers are still finalizing their plans, but after one more rehab start, the hope is that he'll be able to make his 2025 season debut. Woodruff threw a 40-pitch bullpen session last Thursday and is getting closer to his first MLB start following right-shoulder surgery that kept him out for all of 2024. The 32-year-old was close to rejoining the Brewers twice this year before dealing with right-ankle tendinitis and a right-elbow contusion after being hit by a comebacker. If Woodruff is somehow available in your fantasy league, pick him up immediately. He was a fantasy ace before shoulder surgery in October of 2023.

Aaron Nola Mon Jun 23 7:00pm CT

Philadelphia Phillies right-hander Aaron Nola (ankle, rib) played catch in the cages on Saturday and Sunday, according to MLB.com. If Nola responds well, he could begin a throwing progression on the field this week. The Phillies moved Nola to the 60-day injured list last Thursday, so he won't be eligible to return to the team's starting rotation until after the mid-July All-Star break. The 32-year-old veteran initially landed on the 15-day IL back on May 16 with a right-ankle sprain, but now he's working his way back from a stress fracture in his right rib. It's been a disappointing 2025 campaign for Nola, as he's gone 1-7 with a bloated 6.16 ERA and 1.51 WHIP with 52 strikeouts in 49 2/3 innings over his nine starts. The writing may have been on the wall with last year's 8.9 K/9 mark (lowest since his rookie year) and the fact he allowed 30-plus homers for a second straight season.

    From RotoBaller

Bowden Francis Mon Jun 23 6:40pm CT

Toronto Blue Jays right-hander Bowden Francis (shoulder) received a cortisone shot in his right shoulder last week and was shut down from throwing through the weekend, according to MLB.com. Francis landed on the 15-day injured list last Tuesday with a right-shoulder impingement and is unlikely to return until after the mid-July All-Star break since he has yet to resume throwing. When the 29-year-old does return from the IL, he will be far from a lock to regain a starting-rotation role after going 2-8 with a 6.05 ERA (6.79 FIP) and 1.53 WHIP with 54 strikeouts and 27 walks in 64 innings over his 14 starts. Francis was pretty nasty late last year after adding a splitter to his arsenal, but it appears the rest of the league has figured him out somewhat through the first half in 2025.
