Kyle Stowers Wed Jun 18 3:20pm CT

Miami Marlins outfielder Jesus Sanchez and Kyle Stowers will head to the bench on Wednesday against the division-rival Philadelphia Phillies with a lefty on the mound. Heriberto Hernandez is starting in right field and batting cleanup, while Javier Sanoja is in left field and hitting ninth against Phillies lefty Ranger Suarez. It's the second straight game on the bench for Sanchez with the Fish facing another southpaw. He has hit just .172 (5-for-29) with one of his seven homers on the year and 10 K's in 33 trips to the plate against lefties. The 27-year-old could be back on the bench in Thursday's series finale with another lefty on tap. Hernandez is in a prime run-producing spot in the lineup and has been hot in his first 13 big-league games, going 12-for-34 (.353) with a homer, two doubles and three RBI. Sanoja should be faded as a deep DFS sleeper.

Dane Myers Wed Jun 18 3:10pm CT

Miami Marlins outfielder Dane Myers (elbow) is back in center field and is hitting sixth for Wednesday's game against the division-rival Philadelphia Phillies and left-hander Ranger Suarez. Myer was hit by a pitch on his left elbow and left the game early on Monday before sitting out the second game of the series on Tuesday. The 29-year-old will return on Wednesday, though, and faces a familiar pitcher. He has faced Suarez 12 times in his career and is hitting .417 against him with a 1.084 OPS and three RBI. Myers has gone 43-for-129 (.333) in 45 games in his third year in the big leagues, but he lacks a lot of DFS upside with just four home runs, 18 RBI, 16 runs scored and eight stolen bases. His contact skills and speed are what make him attractive as outfield depth in deeper fantasy formats for one of the worst teams in baseball.

JT Brubaker Wed Jun 18 3:00pm CT

The New York Yankees reinstated right-hander JT Brubaker (ribs) from the 60-day injured list on Wednesday before their game at Yankee Stadium against the visiting Los Angeles Angels. Brubaker will be making his season and team debut in pinstripes when he gets into a game after being acquired from the Pittsburgh Pirates last March. The 31-year-old had Tommy John surgery back in 2023 and also dealt with an oblique strain, which is why he hasn't pitched in the big leagues since 2022 with Pittsburgh. He was also struck by a comebacker and fractured three ribs back in spring training. He is built up as a starter, but Brubaker is fully expected to work in a long-relief role out of the bullpen. In his three MLB seasons with the Bucs, he went 9-28 with 4.99 ERA and 1.38 WHIP with 324 strikeouts and 109 walks in 315 2/3 innings over 63 outings (61 starts).

Luke Weaver Wed Jun 18 2:40pm CT

New York Yankees right-handed reliever Luke Weaver (hamstring) threw a live batting practice session at Yankee Stadium on Tuesday, and manager Aaron Boone said it's possible that Weaver could skip a minor-league rehab assignment. Weaver strained his left hamstring on June 3 and was given a timetable of four to six weeks, but he has made excellent progress and could rejoin the big-league squad this weekend. The 31-year-old threw upwards of 20 pitches on Tuesday over two innings and said he "felt great." He said he hasn't felt anything in his hamstring since a day or two after he hurt it while stretching. Weaver was the Yankees' closer at the time of his injury and had a 1.05 ERA and eight saves in 25 2/3 innings. However, Devin Williams has looked much better since Weaver's injury and hasn't blown a save since Weaver went on the IL.

Cooper Pratt Wed Jun 18 2:20pm CT

Milwaukee Brewers shortstop prospect Cooper Pratt smacked a pair of doubles and hit a sacrifice fly in five plate appearances on Tuesday for Double-A Biloxi, driving in three runs and scoring once in the contest. The 20-year-old has caught fire over the last seven games, going 11-for-22 (.500) with three doubles, seven RBI, eight runs scored, two steals, and a 6:3 BB:K. The outburst has pushed his batting average to a more respectable .249, and thanks to a 10.2 percent walk rate, he's posting a solid .341 OBP. The Brewers' third-ranked prospect also has a better-than-average strikeout rate of 14.9 percent, which should eventually give the Brewers some confidence to give him some run at Triple-A later this year, as long as he continues to hit.

Ben Rice Wed Jun 18 2:20pm CT

New York Yankees first baseman/designated hitter Ben Rice is making his first start of the year at catcher on Wednesday and will bat sixth against the visiting Los Angeles Angels and right-hander Jack Kochanowicz. Rice has only appeared in seven games at the big-league level behind the plate, with this being his first career start. The Yankees will need to be more creative to keep Rice's bat in the lineup consistently with Giancarlo Stanton now back. With Rice behind the dish, Austin Wells will retreat to the bench. The 26-year-old Rice will become even more valuable in fantasy leagues if he is able to gain catcher eligibility this year. Although he's hitting just .229 (49-for-214), Rice has 12 homers and is in the 94th percentile in average exit velocity. His .294 xBA ranks 10th in MLB. He has a hit in four career at-bats against Kochanowicz.

    From RotoBaller

Giancarlo Stanton Wed Jun 18 2:20pm CT

New York Yankees designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton and infielder DJ LeMahieu are both out of the starting lineup for Wednesday's contest against the visiting Los Angeles Angels. Outfielder Jasson Dominguez is serving as the DH and batting eighth, while Oswald Peraza makes the start at second base and is hitting in the nine-hole against Angels right-hander Jack Kochanowicz. Stanton made his 2025 debut on Monday and hit the ground running, going 4-for-8 with a double and a strikeout in the first two games of the series against the Halos. The 35-year-old right-handed slugger will serve as the Yankees' primary DH the rest of the way as long as he stays healthy, and it looks like he's already locked in at the plate. LeMahieu could use a break, as he has just one hit in 14 at-bats in his last six games. He has two homers and is hitting .244 (20-for-82) on the year.

Alek Thomas Wed Jun 18 2:10pm CT

Arizona Diamondbacks outfielders Pavin Smith and Alek Thomas are both out on Wednesday against the hosting Toronto Blue Jays with a left-handed pitcher on the mound. Randal Grichuk is serving as the designated hitter and will bat sixth, while rookie Tim Tawa is starting in center field and batting eighth against Blue Jays left-hander Eric Lauer. Smith will grab some pine after starting each of the team's last nine games. In those nine contests, the 29-year-old lefty hitter went 5-for-25 (.200) with a homer, two RBI and three runs scored. Smith is hitting a solid .271 (48-for-177) but has contributed only five home runs, 18 RBI and 26 runs scored in 2025. Grichuk actually has reverse splits so far in 2025 and has gone just 16-for-73 (.219) with two of his three home runs and 19 strikeouts in 80 plate appearances against lefties. He has a hit and one RBI in four career at-bats against Lauer.

    From RotoBaller

Gabriel Moreno Wed Jun 18 2:00pm CT

Arizona Diamondbacks catcher Gabriel Moreno (hand) remains out of the team's starting lineup for Wednesday's tilt versus the hosting Toronto Blue Jays at the Rogers Centre. Jose Herrera is doing the catching for left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez and will bat ninth against Blue Jays left-hander Eric Lauer. Moreno is dealing with right-hand soreness and will miss his third game in a row. Fantasy managers will want to check back to see if Moreno is able to return for the series finale in Canada on Thursday. The 25-year-old Venezuelan backstop has hit a respectable .270 (47-for-174) on the year but with only five home runs, 20 RBI and 29 runs scored. Herrera should be ignored for DFS lineups in the nine-hole. The 28-year-old has gone just 14-for-79 (.177) on the year with five RBI and eight runs scored.

Trevor Rogers Wed Jun 18 1:40pm CT

The Baltimore Orioles announced on Wednesday that they recalled left-hander Trevor Rogers from Triple-A Norfolk and optioned left-hander Grant Wolfram to Norfolk in a corresponding move. Rogers will start Wednesday's game against the division-rival Tampa Bay Rays. The 27-year-old southpaw made one spot start back on May 24 for the O's and threw 6 1/3 shutout innings with no walks and five strikeouts in a no-decision against the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park. The Rays are middle of the pack in OPS (.712) on the year and won't be an easy task for Rogers, who had posted a 5.46 ERA and 1.55 WHIP with 26 strikeouts and eight walks in 29 2/3 innings over seven starts for Norfolk. Needless to say, Rogers will be a risky fantasy stream on Wednesday. With Cade Povich (hip) on the injured list, Rogers should make multiple starts in Baltimore's rotation.

    From RotoBaller

Jeferson Quero Wed Jun 18 1:40pm CT

Milwaukee Brewers catching prospect Jeferson Quero had a productive day at the plate on Tuesday for Triple-A Nashville, going 3-for-4 with a double, two RBI, and two runs scored for the Sounds. It marked the fourthmulti-hit effort in his last six games, and he's hitting .324 (12-for-37) since being reinstated from the injured liston June 3. The Brewers' second-ranked prospect (MLB No. 37) hit 16 home runs in his last full season of 2023, and even though he hit five home runs in his Complex League rehab assignment, he's yet to hit one for Nashville. Nevertheless, the 22-year-old owns better-than-average strikeout (17.2 percent) and walk (9.5 percent) rates during his minor league career, which, with his solid hit and power tools, should help get him to the majors later this year, even if it's just a late-season call-up.

    From RotoBaller

Thairo Estrada Wed Jun 18 1:30pm CT

Colorado Rockies second baseman Thairo Estrada (hand) is out of Wednesday's starting lineup against the Washington Nationals at Nationals Park due to a right-hand contusion that he suffered in Tuesday's contest after being hit by a pitch. Estrada hit his first home run with the team on Tuesday but was pulled from the game in the eighth inning. The good news is that X-rays came back negative, and he's being considered day-to-day. Fantasy managers will want to check back to see if Estrada is available to return for Thursday's series finale in D.C. Kyle Farmer is making the start at the keystone on Wednesday and will hit second against Nationals left-hander Mitchell Parker. Estrada missed the start of the year after fracturing his right wrist on a hit-by-pitch in spring training. Since making his season debut, he's gone 19-for-66 (.288) with a homer, eight RBI and six runs.

    From RotoBaller

Hunter Goodman Wed Jun 18 1:20pm CT

Colorado Rockies catcher Hunter Goodman and third baseman Ryan McMahon will start Wednesday's game against the hosting Washington Nationals on the bench. Braxton Fulford will do the catching and bat ninth, while Orlando Arcia will start at the hot corner and hit sixth against Nationals left-hander Mitchell Parker. Goodman will get a much-needed day of rest after starting 13 of the team's last 14 games. The 25-year-old backstop is having a breakout season in Colorado and is sporting a .285/.326/.522 slash line with an .849 OPS, 14 homers, 46 RBI and 38 runs scored in 270 at-bats. McMahon, meanwhile, has disappointed with a .222 average (55-for-248) with 11 homers and 24 RBI on the year. DFS managers will want to stay away from both Arcia and Fulford as sleepers. Arcia has one hit in four career at-bats against Parker.

    From RotoBaller

Owen Caissie Wed Jun 18 1:20pm CT

Chicago Cubs outfield prospect Owen Caissie continued his hot stretch of hitting on Tuesday, going 4-for-4 for Triple-A Iowa, including three singles and one double. Unfortunately, Iowa was shut out in the contest, so therewere no runs or RBI to be had, but his personal hit streak was extended to 11 games, and he's hit safely in 16 of the last 17. During that 17-game stretch, the former second-round draft pick has gone 23-for-61 (.377) with seven doubles, four home runs, 12 RBI, 10 runs scored, and one steal. While it has been an impressive performance, the high strikeoutrate persisted throughout the 17 games, with the left-handed slugger registering a 31.0 percent K% during that span, althoughit was somewhat offset by an 11.3 percent BB%. The Cubs' second-ranked prospect should debut once there is an opportunity with the big league club, and with the power potential, he could be rosterable in very deep and NL-only leagues when that happens.

    From RotoBaller

    J.P. Crawford Wed Jun 18 1:10pm CT

Seattle Mariners shortstop J.P. Crawford will retreat to the bench for Wednesday's contest at T-Mobile Park against the visiting Boston Red Sox with tough left-hander Garrett Crochet on the bump. Dylan Moore will make the start at the 6 for Seattle and will bat leadoff. Crawford is hitting a strong .294 (72-for-245) on the year but with minimal power (six homers) and speed (five steals) for fantasy managers. He also hasn't been nearly as good against lefties in 2025, going 14-for-68 (.206) with two of his six home runs. Although Moore doesn't have nearly as strong of an average (.234), he gives fantasy managers in deeper leagues slightly more power/speed upside and plenty of positional versatility. He's hit eight homers and stolen nine bases in 145 at-bats and is also hitting .286 with an RBI in seven career at-bats against Crochet.

    From RotoBaller

Shane McClanahan Wed Jun 18 1:00pm CT

Tampa Bay Rays manager Kevin Cash said that left-hander Shane McClanahan (triceps) received "very good" news from nerve specialist Dr. Gregory J. Pearl on Tuesday and should start throwing off a mound "soon." McClanahan met with Pearl after not feeling as good as he'd hoped following his first full-distance bullpen session on June 7 while throwing 10-12 pitches. The 28-year-old has yet to pitch in 2025, and because of this setback, he's now unlikely to be able to make his season debut until some point in August. The former 31st overall pick in 2018 out of South Florida was an All-Star in both 2022 and 2023 and has proven he can be a fantasy ace when healthy, so he should be stashed in all fantasy formats while he recovers. McClanahan had a combined 2.85 ERA and 1.03 WHIP with 315 strikeouts and 79 walks in 49 starts in 2022 and 2023 before missing all of last year.

Zach Dezenzo Wed Jun 18 12:40pm CT

Houston Astros general manager Dana Brown said on Wednesday that outfielder Zach Dezenzo (hand) is pain-free after landing on the 10-day injured list in early June with a capsule strain in his left hand. Dezenzo hasn't swung a bat up until now, but now that he's pain-free, that should change this week. It's good news, but the 25-year-old former 12th-rounder in 2022 might still be several weeks from returning to the major-league roster. When Dezenzo does return, he'll likely resume serving as a utility player for Houston. He made his MLB debut in 2024 and hit .242 (15-for-62) with two homers and eight RBI in 19 games. In 34 games this year, Dezenzo has hit .245 (24-for-98) with two homers, 10 RBI, 17 runs scored and a stolen base. He has strong plate skills but is mostly just an asset in AL-only fantasy leagues for now.

    From RotoBaller

Yordan Alvarez Wed Jun 18 12:20pm CT

Although Houston Astros outfielder/designated hitter Yordan Alvarez (hand) still isn't taking swings, he's apparently feeling better. "Day-to-day thing, he feels a lot better," general manager Dana Brown said on Wednesday. The Astros have made it sound like Alvarez's hand injury hasn't been all that serious all along, but he hasn't played since May 5 and is in danger of missing the rest of the first half of the season if he doesn't resume swinging a bat soon. The 27-year-old All-Star is dealing with a fracture in his right hand, which could help explain why he has hit just .210/.306/.340 with only three home runs, 18 RBI and seven runs scored in his 100 at-bats. There remains no timetable for his return, but fantasy managers must keep him stashed in an injured list spot and hope that whenever he comes back, he'll be the Alvarez of old.

    From RotoBaller

Spencer Arrighetti Wed Jun 18 12:20pm CT

Houston Astros general manager Dana Brown said on Wednesday that right-hander Spencer Arrighetti (thumb) will throw off a mound this week in West Palm Beach, Florida. Arrighetti is recovering from a broken right thumb that he suffered when he was hit by a ball during batting practice in early April, and he was transferred to the 60-day injured list last weekend. In a best-case scenario, the 25-year-old could return to the team's starting rotation in early July before the All-Star break. He allowed six earned runs with five walks and eight strikeouts in 9 2/3 innings in his first two starts in 2025 before his injury. Arrighetti isn't a must-hold in shallow fantasy leagues, but he'll be worth a look off the waiver wire once he's closer to a return to the big leagues. He was up and down in his rookie year in 2024, but he did have four games with 10-plus strikeouts.

    From RotoBaller

Carlos Narvaez Wed Jun 18 12:10pm CT

Boston Red Sox catcher Carlos Narvaez isnot present in Wednesday's starting lineup in Seattle against the Mariners. Connor Wong is doing the catching for left-hander Garrett Crochet and will hit ninthagainst Mariners right-hander Luis Castillo. Narvaez has gone off in the first half of 2025 to over starting duties behind the plate from Wong, although his xBA of .238 indicates he's due for plenty of regression in the second half. Wong had a strong 2024 season but has come back to Earth since and is slashing .179/.289/.179 since the start of May. Wong will not be attractive in DFS lineups against Castillo and has gone hitless against him in five career at-bats.
