Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid (hip) is probable for Game 1 against the New York Knicks on Monday. During the first-round matchup against Boston, Philadelphia had Embiid on the injury report due to his recovery from an appendectomy. Ahead of Round 2, the former MVP has been listed on the report with a right hip contusion. It's a new health issue for Embiid, but the probable tag indicates that he is expected to play on Monday night. Embiid made a strong return to the lineup in the series against Boston, averaging 28.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 7.0 assists in 36.5 minutes per game.
Minnesota Timberwolves guard/forward Ayo Dosunmu (calf) is considered questionable for Monday's Game 1 against the San Antonio Spurs. He could return to the lineup after missing Game 6 against Denver on Thursday due to a calf issue. Speaking to reporters on Saturday, Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch said Dosunmu is day-to-day. Before his injury, Dosunmu made a big impact against the Nuggets, averaging 21.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 4.0 assists. The Timberwolves also have Anthony Edwards (knee) on the injury report. He isn't expected to return before Game 3, giving Dosunmu an opportunity to take on a larger role again if he shakes off the questionable tag.
Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kyle Anderson (illness) has been removed from the injury report ahead of Monday's Game 1 matchup with the San Antonio Spurs. The veteran missed the final game of Round 1 against Denver due to illness. Even when he was healthy, Anderson didn't get much of a look against the Nuggets, averaging just 7.0 minutes per game. He could have a more significant role against San Antonio, depending on the status of Anthony Edwards (knee) and Ayo Dosunmu (calf). Both are listed as questionable for Monday's game.
Minnesota Timberwolves guard/forward Anthony Edwards (knee) has been listed as questionable for Monday's second-round series opener against the San Antonio Spurs. On Sunday, ESPN's Shams Charania reported that Edwards is hopeful of returning to action in Game 3 of the series. But the questionable designation leaves open the possibility that Edwards will be available for Game 1. Edwards has traveled with the team to San Antonio and was cleared for basketball activities ahead of Monday's morning shootaround. With Edwards and Ayo Dosunmu (calf) sidelined, Terrence Shannon Jr. and Jaden McDaniels stood out in Minnesota's series-clinching win over Denver. The two are expected to take on more offensive responsibility again if the Timberwolves remain without Edwards and Dosunmu on Monday.
Los Angeles Lakers point guard Luka Doncic (hamstring) is considered week-to-week, ESPN's Shams Charania reports. The Slovenian superstar won't be available at the start of the Lakers' second-round matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder. "He's doing more and more on the court," Charania said Sunday during an appearance on Inside the NBA. "But right now, still not full-fledged running or full-contact workouts." According to Charania, Doncic remains on a "slow path" in his recovery from a Grade 2 hamstring strain. Doncic sustained the injury against the Thunder on April 2. Until Doncic returns, the Lakers' success will hinge on the play of LeBron James and Austin Reaves.
Toronto Raptors guard/forward Brandon Ingram (heel) will miss Game 7 against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday. Earlier in the day, the team downgraded Ingram's status from questionable to doubtful and has now officially ruled him out. The two-time All-Star will be absent for a second consecutive game due to right heel inflammation. Jamal Shead stepped into the starting lineup to fill in for Ingram in Game 6 and should retain his spot on Sunday night. Due to a poor 2-for-9 effort from the field, Shead was limited to seven points on Friday, but he did a good job as a playmaker with six assists. The 23-year-old also made an impact defensively, recording one steal in 33 minutes.
Detroit Pistons guard Kevin Huerter (groin) has been downgraded to out ahead of Sunday's Game 7 against the Orlando Magic. He came into the contest as questionable, but ultimately won't be able to play due to a strained left adductor. His absence from the rotation should free up playing time for Duncan Robinson, Daniss Jenkins, and Caris LeVert. Among the three, Robinson is the only viable DFS option heading into this game. The Pistons will need to lean on Cade Cunningham to do the heavy lifting on offense in this elimination contest.
Boston Celtics center Nikola Vucevic didn't suit up at all during Saturday's Game 7 against the Philadelphia 76ers. The veteran center played limited minutes throughout the series. Head coach Joe Mazzulla decided to bench Vucevic completely for this elimination game. Instead, he opted to go with a combination of Neemias Queta and Luka Garza at the center spot. Given Vucevic's limited role since joining the Celtics, it seems likely that he'll head elsewhere in free agency. When given the opportunity, Vucevic was arguably a top-50 fantasy contributor during his time with the Chicago Bulls. It's unclear at this stage in his career if another organization is willing to give Vucevic 30-plus minutes per night in a rotation. The fact that Vucevic barely played during the most important series of the season likely means he'll opt to play somewhere else next season.
Toronto Raptors forward Brandon Ingram (heel) has been downgraded to doubtful ahead of Sunday's Game 7 against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Ingram is trending towards missing his second straight game due to an inflamed right heel. The Raptors were able to pull out the victory on Friday without Ingram on the court. Jamal Shead drew the start with Ingram on the sideline, and that'll likely remain the case on Sunday. Shead finished with seven points and six assists across 33 minutes of action on Friday. RJ Barrett and Scottie Barnes will be leaned on as the primary scoring options if Ingram is forced to miss this elimination game.
Orlando Magic forward Jonathan Isaac (knee) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's Game 7 against the Detroit Pistons. Isaac will miss the entirety of this series while he continues to deal with a sprained left knee. Isaac hasn't played since mid-March, and it's unclear if he'll be ready for the next round, if Orlando advances. His continued absence from the rotation won't make much of an impact. Jamal Cain and Tristan de Silva will continue to see an uptick in playing time without Isaac available.
Boston Celtics guard Derrick White recorded 26 points, six rebounds, four assists, and three blocks in 45 minutes during Saturday's Game 7 loss to Philadelphia. He knocked down five three-pointers but needed 26 shots to reach his total, showing the same efficiency issues that have popped up at times. Still, he found ways to contribute with defense and playmaking, keeping his overall impact intact. Jaylen Brown led the scoring, while Payton Pritchard took on more ball-handling responsibilities. Boston now heads into the offseason with White's role secure, though improved shooting would raise his ceiling next season.
Boston Celtics forward/center Neemias Queta recorded 17 points, 12 rebounds, and one assist in 33 minutes during Saturday's Game 7 loss to Philadelphia. He moved to a reserve role but still logged his highest minutes of the series, finishing an efficient 7-for-8 from the field while making his presence felt on the boards. Queta turned in multiple double-digit rebounding games in the series, showing steady interior impact. Boston now shifts into the offseason, where Queta's role and long-term spot in the frontcourt will be worth monitoring.
Boston Celtics guard/forward Jaylen Brown finished with 33 points, nine rebounds, four assists, and three blocks in 40 minutes during Saturday's Game 7 loss to Philadelphia. He took on a bigger scoring role with Jayson Tatum (knee) out, leading the team while still contributing across the board, though his 12-for-27 shooting shows it wasn't always efficient. His usage climbed throughout the series, but tough shot attempts and defensive pressure made it hard to stay consistent. Derrick White and Payton Pritchard were more involved, but Boston still relied heavily on Brown to create offense and carry the scoring load.
Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey recorded 30 points, 11 rebounds, and seven assists in 45 minutes during Saturday's Game 7 win over Boston, helping complete a 4-3 series comeback. He shot 11-for-18 from the field and delivered a late scoring burst to close the game, capping a strong series with multiple 30-point outings. Maxey's usage remains elite heading into the next round, especially with Joel Embiid dealing with a knee concern. VJ Edgecombe's emergence adds support, while Paul George offers secondary scoring, but Maxey's shot creation continues to drive Philadelphia's offense.
Philadelphia 76ers guard VJ Edgecombe recorded 23 points, six rebounds, and four assists in 44 minutes during Saturday's Game 7 win over Boston, helping complete a 4-3 series comeback. The rookie knocked down five three-pointers and handled heavy minutes, continuing a strong postseason run with steady scoring and secondary playmaking. His role appears locked in heading into the next round, making him a viable DFS option with upside tied to his shooting. He adds another layer to the rotation, giving Philadelphia a reliable two-way option alongside Tyrese Maxey and Joel Embiid.
Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid recorded 34 points, 12 rebounds, six assists, and one block in 39 minutes during Saturday's Game 7 win over Boston, securing a 4-3 series victory. He responded after a quiet Game 6, leading all scorers while anchoring the offense in a high-usage role. Embiid has delivered multiple double-doubles late in the series and remains the focal point heading into the next round. Tyrese Maxey and VJ Edgecombe continue to provide scoring support, but Philadelphia's ceiling still depends on Embiid's health and sustained production.
Minnesota Timberwolves guard/forward Ayo Dosunmu (calf) is considered day-to-day ahead of Monday's Game 1 against San Antonio after missing the series-clinching win over Denver. His status is unclear, with Anthony Edwards (knee) and Donte DiVincenzo (Achilles) also dealing with injuries. If Dosunmu sits, Terrence Shannon Jr. becomes a strong DFS option after posting 24 points, six rebounds, and two steals in 35 minutes, while Mike Conley and Jaden McDaniels should continue seeing increased responsibility. Bones Hyland and Jaylen Clark are in the mix for minutes, though their roles are still uncertain.
Minnesota Timberwolves guard/forward Anthony Edwards (knee) remains week-to-week, The Athletic's Jon Krawczynski reports. Edwards missed the final two games of Minnesota's first-round series against Denver due to a bone bruise and hyperextension in his left knee. He is expected to return this postseason; however, it seems unlikely that he will be available for Game 1 of the second-round matchup against the San Antonio Spurs, scheduled for Monday. If Ayo Dosunmu (calf) can return to the lineup, he will play a crucial role in the absence of Edwards.
Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid (abdomen) will play in Game 7 against the Boston Celtics on Saturday night, Adam Aaronson of PhillyVoice.com reports. The star big man has once again shed a probable tag and will aim to defeat some demons on Saturday. During Embiid's MVP year in 2023, when Philadelphia and Boston also squared off in a Game 7, he was a major disappointment, managing 15 points and eight rebounds with a 27.8 percent field-goal efficiency. This postseason, Embiid's efficiency from the field hasn't been good either, but he's averaged 26.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 7.3 assists per game.
Orlando Magic forward Jonathan Isaac (knee) is listed as doubtful for Game 7 against the Detroit Pistons on Sunday. He has regularly carried the doubtful designation during the postseason due to a sprained knee and hasn't yet suited up for any games. Isaac is likely to remain out on Sunday as well. Jamal Cain will continue to pick up a few extra minutes without Isaac, but he has been quiet in the series. Across 16.5 minutes per game, Cain has tallied 4.5 points and 3.3 rebounds. The 27-year-old has snagged only two steals in the series and hadn't managed a single block before recording one in Friday's Game 6 loss.
