Golden State Warriors guard Brandin Podziemski (back) will not be available for Thursday's meeting with the Sacramento Kings. The second-year player injured his back last week and will miss a third consecutive game. Buddy Hield and Gary Payton II are getting extra work off the bench with Podziemski out. Both players impressed in Monday's victory over the Portland Trail Blazers, combining for 46 points off the bench. Payton II led the team with 26 points on 11-for-16 shooting.
New Orleans Pelicans forward/center Kelly Olynyk (personal) will not play in Thursday's matchup against the Orlando Magic. Olynyk missed Tuesday's clash against the Los Angeles Clippers for rest purposes and has now been ruled out for personal reasons. Bruce Brown stepped into the starting unit in Olynyk's absence on Tuesday, producing 12 points, five rebounds, and five assists in 30 minutes. Karlo Matkovic and Mo Bamba filled the frontcourt minutes off the bench, with the latter making his team debut. Though he went scoreless, Bamba collected seven rebounds. Matkovic was far more active offensively, finishing with 15 points, four rebounds, and two blocks.
Chicago Bulls guard Josh Giddey (ankle) has been listed as doubtful for Thursday's game against the Brooklyn Nets, but head coach Billy Donovan has effectively ruled him out. Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Donovan mentioned that Giddey is "going to be out for a little bit." Giddey himself also confirmed that he won't play. Lonzo Ball (wrist) is likely to remain sidelined as well on Thursday, which means Tre Jones looks set for another start, and Kevin Huerter is expected to take on a larger role off the bench.
Washington Wizards guard/forward Bilal Coulibaly (hip) will miss a second consecutive game on Thursday against the Detroit Pistons. He hasn't recovered from a hip contusion Coulibaly suffered on Monday against the Toronto Raptors. Justin Champagnie may receive another start in Coulibaly's place, with Corey Kispert contributing more off the bench. Champagnie struggled to make a mark in Tuesday's matchup against the Pistons, but he has generally done well in a starting role. Over 16 starts this season, Champagnie has averaged 11.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 1.4 steals.
Chicago Bulls point guard Lonzo Ball (wrist) is expected to sit out a sixth consecutive game on Thursday against the Brooklyn Nets, as the team lists him as doubtful on the injury report. He hasn't seen any action so far this month due to a right wrist sprain. With Ball injured, Tre Jones has received additional opportunities in the rotation. He has started four consecutive games, averaging 13.0 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 6.0 assists in 32.5 minutes. Jones will continue to be a solid streaming option until Ball returns.
Washington Wizards guard Malcolm Brogdon (ankle) will remain sidelined for Thursday's game against the Detroit Pistons. Just before the All-Star break, Brogdon sprained his left ankle and has not seen any action since play resumed. On Thursday, he will be out for an 11th consecutive game. The veteran is expected to return before the end of the season, but it's unclear when he will be available. This season has been frustrating for Brogdon, who has taken the court only 24 times due to health issues. He is averaging 12.7 points per game, his lowest mark since his rookie year.
Portland's G Scoot Henderson scored 30 points on 10-of-16 shooting in a 113-114 loss to the Knicks on Wednesday, Mar. 12. Henderson is owned in only 69.2% leagues.
Grizzlies' G Luke Kennard scored 30 points on 11-of-14 shooting in a 122-115 win over the Jazz on Wednesday, Mar. 12. Kennard is owned in only 2.8% leagues.
Sacramento Kings center Domantas Sabonis (hamstring) went through full practice on Wednesday and has been listed as questionable for Thursday's game against the Golden State Warriors. This is fantastic news for the Kings and fantasy managers alike, considering Sabonis was ruled out indefinitely just a week ago with a Grade 1 hamstring strain. Jonas Valanciunas has had a strong run as Sacramento's starting center lately but will have to drop back to the bench on Thursday if Sabonis is ready to return to action.
Denver Nuggets forward/center Aaron Gordon (calf) will skip a second consecutive game on Wednesday against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Gordon was listed as doubtful on the initial injury report, so it was always unlikely that he would be in the lineup. Russell Westbrook looks set for another start on Wednesday, while Peyton Watson and Zeke Nnaji will fill the frontcourt minutes that are left over from Gordon's absence.
Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert (back) will be in the lineup on Wednesday against the Denver Nuggets. The French big man is dealing with a lingering back injury, but the team has upgraded his status from questionable to available ahead of Wednesday's tip-off. On Sunday against the San Antonio Spurs, Gobert returned from a 10-game absence, posting 18 points, eight rebounds, and two steals in 20 minutes. Despite the long layoff, Gobert showed no signs of rust, but he saw only limited minutes, which may happen again on Wednesday night.
Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic (elbow, ankle) will play Wednesday night against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Denver's star man is currently a bit banged up, dealing with elbow and ankle issues, but the team has upgraded Jokic from probable to available. Jokic has posted five double-doubles in his past nine outings and is averaging 26.4 points, 16.2 rebounds, and 10.8 assists this month. He looks primed for another big stat line in Wednesday's game.
Denver Nuggets point guard Jamal Murray (ankle) has been cleared to play in Wednesday's matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves. He landed on the injury report due to left ankle inflammation, but Denver has upgraded him from probable to available. Following a couple of quiet outings, Murray kicked off this week with a bang, pouring in 34 points on Monday in a 140-127 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder. He is averaging 24.0 points per game since the All-Star break, with fantastic 48.5 percent shooting from downtown.
Portland Trail Blazers center Robert Williams III (knee) will be active on Wednesday against the New York Knicks after being cleared to return from a 10-game absence. Williams III has recovered from a left knee sprain and will provide much-needed depth at the center position, especially with Deandre Ayton (calf) still out of the lineup. As a result of Williams III's return, Duop Reath could drop out of the rotation.
Portland Trail Blazers guard/forward Matisse Thybulle (ankle) is ready for his season debut on Wednesday against the New York Knicks. The defensive specialist has faced tough luck with injuries in the 2024-25 season, undergoing a knee procedure and suffering a Grade 2 right ankle sprain. Thybulle is not expected to take on a major role for the Trail Blazers, but his defensive ability could be a big asset for the team in certain situations. During his five years in the league, Thybulle has averaged 1.5 steals per game while earning two NBA All-Defensive Second Team selections.
Portland Trail Blazers forward Jerami Grant (knee) will not play in Wednesday's matchup against the New York Knicks. He has been downgraded from doubtful to out. This will be Grant's second consecutive absence due to a right knee tendinitis. When Grant exited the lineup on Monday against the Golden State Warriors, Deni Avdija filled his spot in the starting lineup and took on a huge workload, logging 41 minutes. Jabari Walker will help fill Grant's minutes off the bench, while the addition of Matisse Thybulle (ankle) to the rotation will also compensate for Grant's loss.
Los Angeles Lakers point guard Luka Doncic (ankle) has been listed as questionable for Thursday's marquee matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks. Last weekend, Doncic battled a back problem, and he is now on the injury report with right ankle soreness. If Doncic is out on Thursday, Austin Reaves should run the backcourt, with Gabe Vincent and Jordan Goodwin stepping into more prominent roles. Both players enjoyed strong starts to the week, as Vincent scored a team-high 24 points in Monday's loss to the Brooklyn Nets, while Goodwin produced 17 points off the bench.
Milwaukee Bucks forward/center Giannis Antetokounmpo (calf) is expected to be in uniform for Thursday's clash against the Los Angeles Lakers. The team lists him as probable on the injury report. Despite being a regular on the injury list, Antetokounmpo has made 11 consecutive appearances. He had scored 30-plus points in three straight games before settling for 19 in Tuesday's loss to the Indiana Pacers. The last time Antetokounmpo was limited to fewer than 20 points, he responded with a big 23-point, 16-rebound double-double in the following game.
Milwaukee Bucks point guard Damian Lillard (groin) is considered probable for Thursday's game against the Los Angeles Lakers. He is managing a groin issue, but Lillard has made nine consecutive appearances and is expected to remain in the lineup on Thursday. Lillard was off form last time out against the Indiana Pacers, shooting only 4-for-14 from the field to finish with 15 points. He will attempt to bounce back against a Lakers that will be without LeBron James (groin) and may also play on Thursday without Luka Doncic (ankle), who is considered questionable for the game.
Dallas Mavericks point guard Brandon Williams (hamstring) will play in Wednesday's game against the San Antonio Spurs. He will be back in the lineup after missing Monday's meeting with the Spurs due to a tight hamstring. With several regulars out of the lineup for Dallas, Williams has started to make a name for himself. The second-year player has averaged 19.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 6.3 assists in 30.6 minutes over his past three appearances.
