Washington Nationals corner infield prospect Yohandy Morales has cooled off at the plate, going 3-for-24 (.125) over the last six games at Triple-A Rochester. Despite the slowdown, the Nats' 26th-ranked prospect has had a solid campaign overall, hitting .287 with an .892 OPS and 23 home runs in 94 games for the Red Wings. There is a ton of pop in his bat, with average exit velocity, max exit velocity, barrel rate, and hard-hit rate all registering in the 91st percentile or better at Triple-A, so there is some intrigue for fantasy purposes, especially if he were to be placed in the middle of MLB's highest-ranking team in terms of runs scored per game (5.28). There is some batting average risk due to elevated chase and whiff rates, but the 24-year-old represents an under-the-radar stash option for home runs and RBI for a late-season run to the fantasy playoffs.

Pittsburgh Pirates outfield prospect Jhostynxon Garcia was optioned back to Triple-A Indianapolis on August 14 after a brief second stint with the big-league club. The Pirates' fifth-ranked prospect is 3-for-11 (.273) in the three games since rejoining Indianapolis and is now slashing .270/.337/.419 with seven home runs and five steals in 61 games for the Indians. The right-handed hitter surged through the minors on the way to a major league debut in Boston's organization in 2025, but has done little with his limited opportunities in the majors. Coming off a 21-home-run campaign in 114 games last year and with a ball hit 113.5 mph this season (95th percentile), there is some power potential in his bat, but it comes with a lot of chase that leads to a lot of swing-and-miss and few walks. The 23-year-old could get another shot in the majors this season, but there are likely better stash options available on your waiver wire.

Tampa Bay Rays outfield prospect Jacob Melton (hamstring) was flashing his elite speed at Triple-A Durham before being placed on the injured list with hamstring tightness back on August 4, his second time on the IL this season. The Rays' eighth-ranked prospect was riding a six-game hit streak and had stolen bases in three consecutive games before suffering the injury, which had raised his slash line to .285/.381/.520 with five home runs and 23 steals in just 36 games for the Bulls. The former second-round draft pick has been swinging a bat recently, but there has been no official update to his status from the organization, so his timeline for return is unclear. Kansas City Royals outfield prospect Gavin Cross (undisclosed) was placed on the 7-day injured list on August 14 with an undisclosed injury. It's a shame as the Royals' 26th-ranked prospect was heating up again, riding a five-game hit streak during which time he went 9-for-19 (.474) with three doubles, two home runs, and a stolen base over that span. The hot stretch brought his season-long slash line to .253/.319/.435 at Triple-A Omaha with 13 home runs and 23 steals in 101 games. The power/speed combo makes for an intriguing fantasy asset, and the former ninth-overall draft pick could still make a late-season debut in 2026, but there was little reason to stash him before the injury, and now, without a clear timeline for his return, there is even less reason. The 25-year-old may have a fantasy impact in 2027, but for now, he can be safely left on the waiver wire.

Los Angeles Dodgers outfield prospect Ryan Ward, after collecting a hit in Wednesday's game for Triple-A Oklahoma City, has extended his hit streak to 10 games. The Dodgers' 17th-ranked prospect is 16-for-40 (.400) during that time with a double and four home runs, along with twice as many walks (eight) as strikeouts (four). It brings his season-long slash line to .276/.384/.486 with 17 home runs and a 55:60 BB:K in 83 games for the Comets. The left-handed hitter debuted with the Dodgers earlier this season and has spent two different stints with the club with mixed results. While this recent stretch could help propel him there again, there is no immediate opening on the major league roster, even with Kyle Tucker struggling mightily on both sides of the ball. New York Mets first base/outfield prospect Ryan Clifford was placed on the Development List on Wednesday amid a futile stretch of offense. Since returning from the injured list on August 9, the Mets' eighth-ranked prospect has been hitless in 22 consecutive at-bats over a six-game stretch with a 56.0 percent strikeout rate during that time. The struggles preceded the injured list stint, though, as he's also just 5-for-70 (.071) over his last 19 contests, which has pushed his season-long slash line to .175/.267/.344. When he connects, the ball goes a long way, with the 6-foot-3 slugger tallying 16 home runs in 104 games, but with one of the worst strikeout rates at Triple-A (38.2 percent) that culminated in a five-strikeout performance this past Sunday, the organization will now allow him to stay on the minor league roster while he works on mechanics and swing decisions outside of game action. Amid his struggles, chances of an MLB debut in 2026 were already fading, but this likely seals it, and fantasy managers need not consider the 23-year-old a stash option this year.

After undergoing hybrid Tommy John/internal brace surgery in June 2025, Detroit Tigers right-hander Jackson Jobe missed the remainder of the 2025 season and the first four-plus months of 2026. However, the 24-year-old returned to the big league mound on August 8 and has now made three starts, recording a 1-1 record with a 4.50 ERA, 1.36 WHIP, and 11 strikeouts across 14 innings. Jobe's stuff looks to be back to where it was before the injury, as he's averaged 98.0 miles per hour on his fastball. He also dominated in his minor league rehab outings before returning to the Tigers, recording a 1.76 ERA with 17 strikeouts across 15 1/3 innings. Jobe hasn't yet figured out how to generate consistent whiffs at the MLB level, logging just a 17.6% strikeout rate across 67 career big-league innings. Still, the young right-hander was considered one of the top pitching prospects in all of baseball before getting injured and remains a high-upside waiver wire target in leagues where he's not already rostered.

After a rough start to the season, Arizona Diamondbacks right-hander Brandon Pfaadt was moved from the starting rotation into a bullpen role in mid-April. However, Pfaadt pitched well out of the pen and has kept up his strong production since being moved back into the rotation in late June. Across his last 60 1/3 innings (10 starts), the 27-year-old has recorded a 7-0 record with a 1.79 ERA, 0.91 WHIP, and 38 strikeouts. Pfaadt's fantasy upside is limited by his lack of strikeouts, as he's posted just a 17.1% strikeout rate for the season and owns a 21.1% strikeout rate for his career. He's also likely benefited from some batted-ball luck, as his .261 opponent batting average on balls in play in 2026 is significantly below his career mark of .305. Still, Pfaadt's numbers since rejoining the Diamondbacks rotation are hard to ignore. At the very least, he should be viewed as a high-end starting pitcher streamer in leagues where he's available on the waiver wire.

Since being acquired by the Atlanta Braves from the San Francisco Giants at the trade deadline, veteran right-hander Tyler Mahle has gotten hot on the mound. Across 18 2/3 innings (three starts) for the Braves, Mahle has allowed just three earned runs while recording 19 strikeouts. The 31-year-old's overall line for the season isn't great, as he's recorded a 4-10 record with a 4.53 ERA, 1.31 WHIP, and 108 strikeouts across 113 1/3 innings (21 starts). However, Mahle is now in a much better position to rack up wins following the move to Atlanta, and pitching for a contender may have been the jolt he needed to revitalize his 2026 campaign. Mahle had an extended stretch of high-end production as recently as 2025, when he pitched to a 2.18 ERA and 1.13 WHIP across 86 2/3 innings (16 starts) with the Texas Rangers. As a matchup-dependent streamer, fantasy managers should consider Mahle on the waiver wire.

Cleveland Guardians outfielder Jo Adell (knee) will take a seat for the second straight game in Thursday's series finale against the visiting San Francisco Giants, per MLB.com. Adell had a big game on Tuesday with a homer and six RBI, but he left late in that contest against San Fran with soreness in his left knee after fouling a ball off himself. The Guardians will now keep him out for a second straight day, but it is not considered a significant injury, and he could be back in there as early as Friday's series opener at Coors Field against the Colorado Rockies. Fantasy managers will want to check back then for an update on his condition. With rookie Chase DeLauter (hamstring) missing a fourth straight game, Angel Martinez is back in right field for Cleveland on Thursday. The 27-year-old Adell will not help fantasy managers with his batting average or on-base percentage, but he has plenty of pop from the right side and should have more opportunities to drive runs the rest of the way after being traded from the Los Angeles Angels to the Guardians at the deadline. He has 19 homers on the year, with three of them coming in his first 13 games with Cleveland.

Across 286 plate appearances this season, Boston Red Sox infielder Andruw Monasterio is hitting .261/.319/.424 with six home runs, 37 RBI, 31 runs scored, and four stolen bases. The 29-year-old has been hot since the start of July, hitting .305 with three homers, 25 RBI, 16 runs scored, and three stolen bases across his last 149 trips to the plate. Monasterio has seen an extended stretch of regular playing time as Boston's everyday shortstop, which will likely come to an end with the impending return of Red Sox shortstop Trevor Story (abdomen) from the 60-day injured list. However, Monasterio's ability to play every infield position should allow him to still earn fantasy-relevant playing time. Monasterio's profile at the plate may not jump off the page in any one area, but he brings balanced, high-floor production and multi-positional eligibility. In deep leagues, he profiles as a valuable depth piece for fantasy managers to target on the waiver wire.

Los Angeles Dodgers left-hander Tanner Scott picked up his 18th save of the season on Wednesday night, pitching a scoreless 10th inning with a strikeout in his team's 6-4 extra-inning win over the Colorado Rockies. With Dodgers closer Edwin Diaz (neck) back on the injured list, Scott has now earned saves in back-to-back appearances and should see regular save opportunities for as long as Diaz remains sidelined. Across 51 1/3 innings (55 games) on the year, Scott has pitched to a 2.28 ERA and 0.92 WHIP with 63 strikeouts and 18 saves. The 32-year-old has struck out 32% of the batters he's faced while posting just a 5.6% walk rate. In any league where Scott is available, he should be viewed as a must-roster saves source until Diaz returns from the IL.

Between High-A and Double-A this season, Milwaukee Brewers third base prospect Andrew Fischer has produced in a huge way with 37 homers and 88 RBI between the two levels with a batting average of .268 and 88 runs scored. The third base prospect is now at Double-A Biloxi and, at age 22, is putting up phenomenal numbers. He is the No. 6 overall prospect for the Brewers and has 65-grade power. The left-handed hitter will likely need more seasoning this year in the minors as he has yet to reach Triple-A. But he looks like a great pickup in dynasty formats with some work to do in redraft leagues. There are other prospects on the Brewers that might be in line before Fischer to get a major-league debut. Keep an eye on Fischer's exploits, though, as he could make for a great pick next year.

Tampa Bay Rays outfield prospect Theo Gillen is just 20 years old and is already showing off his skills with the Double-A Montgomery Biscuits. The left-handed hitter has split his time between High-A and Double-A this season with 21 homers and 80 RBI to go with 40 stolen bases while hitting .323. Those are monster numbers for the young outfield prospect, and they are enticing to call for a stash of Gillen to fantasy rosters even in redraft leagues. The 40 stolen bases are elite speed for the Rays' No. 2 overall prospect. He boasts 60-grade speed with a 55-grade hit tool and 55-grade power. Fantasy managers wanting to take a chance can do so on Gillen, but he has yet to hit Triple-A, so the Rays could be a bit hesitant in their promotion of the future star.

Arizona Diamondbacks left-hander Brandyn Garcia has emerged as one of the better arms in his team's bullpen so far this season, recording a 2.48 ERA, 0.83 WHIP, 42 strikeouts, and four saves across 36 1/3 innings (43 games). Since designating veteran reliever Paul Sewald for assignment in early August, Arizona has operated with a committee approach to the closer role. Along with Garcia, Diamondbacks right-handers Justin Martinez, Kevin Ginkel, and Juan Morillo are also candidates to see save chances. Still, Garcia has posted an excellent 30.4% strikeout rate while walking just 6.5% of the batters he's faced. He's also generated a 63.7% ground-ball rate while allowing just 0.50 HR/9. Even if Garcia does not see every save opportunity in Arizona, he should continue to provide elite ratios and could pick up the occasional win while working in high-leverage spots. In deeper leagues, Garcia could be worth targeting on the waiver wire.

Tampa Bay Rays pitching prospect Brody Hopkins has pitched one relief inning in each of his last two outings for Triple-A Durham, potentially previewing a move to the bullpen at Tampa Bay in the big leagues. Hopkins allowed two earned runs in one of those two outings with three walks and a hit allowed. He was perfect in his first inning of relief with two strikeouts. The right-hander is ranked No. 7 in the Rays organization and has a 60-grade fastball and curveball with a 55-grade slider and cutter. All in all for Durham this season, Hopkins is 4-8 with a 5.48 ERA and 1.76 WHIP in his age 24 season. He has 109 strikeouts in 87 innings pitched. He's looking like a bullpen chance could be on the horizon for him this season for the Rays, but that doesn't make him the most appealing fantasy option.

Miami Marlins pitching prospect Karson Milbrandt had a nice start in his last outing for the Triple-A Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp with three earned runs in five innings pitched to go with seven strikeouts to two walks and five hits allowed. It was the best start for Milbrandt at Triple-A in close to a month, so that was a very good sign for the 22-year-old and the Marlins organization. He might need a few more good starts like that one to prove ready for a big-league debut. Milbrandt is the No. 5 prospect for the Marlins and three 55-grade pitches in his fastball, curveball, and slider. After a lights-out season at Double-A Pensacola, Milbrandt has struggled a bit at Jacksonville with an 0-5 record and 7.65 ERA and 1.94 WHIP. Milbrandt is clearly a future talent but it remains to be seen if he will get a shot this season.

Cleveland Guardians rookie outfielder Chase DeLauter (hamstring) will miss a fourth straight game in Thursday's series finale against the visiting San Francisco Giants, according to MLB.com. DeLauter has not played since he was pulled from Sunday's series finale against the San Diego Padres with a left-hamstring injury. The injury is not considered serious, though, so he will have a chance to return to action for Friday's series opener on the road in Denver against the Colorado Rockies. Fantasy managers will want to check back then for an update on the rookie outfielder. With Jo Adell (knee) also missing a second straight game for Cleveland, Angel Martinez will make another start in right field and will bat sixth on Thursday against Giants right-hander Landen Roupp. The 24-year-old DeLauter has had a fine first year in the majors in 2026, slashing .285/.358/.442 with a .799 OPS, 13 home runs, 57 RBI, 49 runs scored, and nine stolen bases across his 403 at-bats for the Guards. He has really turned it on in August, going 19-for-56 (.339) with a .904 OPS, two homers, two doubles, six RBI, 11 runs, and three stolen bases in 14 games played.

New York Mets pitching prospect Jack Wenninger had a nice start in his last outing for Triple-A Syracuse, allowing two earned runs in five innings with two hits allowed and four walks to go with eight strikeouts. It's the latest effort in a nice season for Wenninger at Triple-A Syracuse, where he has gone 4-7 with a 4.79 ERA and 1.43 WHIP. In 18 starts and 21 appearances, Wenninger has 98 strikeouts in 96 1/3 innings pitched. The right-hander is the No. 9 prospect for the Mets. The 24-year-old features a 55-grade fastball with a 60-grade splitter. Wenninger is looking like a solid prospect but might be better off on fantasy rosters for next season. He has major-league stuff with good major-league pitches, so Wenninger is worth monitoring should the Mets decide to call him up.

Milwaukee Brewers prospect Jett Williams (wrist) is currently on the seven-day injured list at Triple-A Nashville. He has had a good season at Triple-A in limited action this season, but it might be a stretch for him to make an MLB debut. In 305 at-bats with Nashville, Williams has nine homers and 41 RBI with 21 stolen bases while hitting .233. He's dealing with a lingering left wrist injury, though, and it has come at the wrong time of the season for him. Williams checks in at No. 11 on the Brewers' top prospects list with 65-grade speed. Williams looks like he will be able to add stolen bases to his profile when he finally does get the call to Milwaukee for his debut, but he will have to demonstrate full health if he is to get that opportunity before the end of this year.
