Cleveland left-hander Kolby Allard has been great as a length option out of the team's bullpen this season, and manager Stephen Vogt said "he's definitely an option" to enter the starting rotation with right-hander Ben Lively (forearm) going on the injured list on Tuesday. Allard, who has a sharp 1.20 ERA in 15 innings over five appearances in 2025, could make his first start of the year as early as this Saturday against the Cincinnati Reds. The 27-year-old southpaw threw a season-high 64 pitches in six innings of relief on April 26 against the Boston Red Sox, so he's definitely built up enough to be worth streaming consideration in fantasy. He threw 53 pitches over four innings on May 3 against the Toronto Blue Jays as well. MLB.com's Tim Stebbins also mentions prospect Doug Nikhazy and rehabbing right-hander Slade Cecconi (oblique) as options, but Allard feels like the best bet, at least this weekend.

Updating a previous report, Seattle Mariners shortstop J.P. Crawford (shoulder) was scratched from Wednesday's series finale against the visiting New York Yankees with shoulder tightness, according to manager Dan Wilson. Until we know more about the severity of Crawford's shoulder injury, fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day. The good news is that the M's have a scheduled day off on Thursday before starting a weekend series in San Diego on Friday against the Padres. You'll want to check back then to see if Crawford is feeling good enough to play. If Crawford needs to go on the injured list, Seattle would most likely mix and match at shortstop with Leo Rivas and Miles Mastrobuoni. The 30-year-old's counting stats leave a lot to be desired, but he's hitting a respectable .271 (38-for-140).

Detroit Tigers outfielder Parker Meadows (arm) did his base-running test on Wednesday and also threw to the bases from the outfield in modified drills, according to the Detroit Free Press' Chris McCosky. Meadows said he feels close to being ready to go on a minor-league rehab assignment. Since the 25-year-old has been out since late February with a nerve issue in his right arm, he's probably going to have to go on a lengthy rehab assignment. However, Meadows appears to be turning a corner and is worthy of consideration for a waiver-wire pickup if he's available with his return potentially coming in late May or early June. He was a difference-maker in fantasy and for Detroit in the second half in 2024 after he returned from injuries, slashing .296/.340/.500 with six homers and five steals in 47 regular-season games. At the very least, he should be in the strong side of a platoon in the outfield when he returns.

The Los Angeles Dodgers don't have any plans as of right now for rookie right-hander Roki Sasaki (shoulder) to have medical intervention such as a pain-killing injection for his right-shoulder impingement. Manager Dave Roberts said Sasaki will be shut down from throwing for a while. L.A. placed the 23-year-old Japanese rookie on the 15-day injured list on Tuesday, and it sounds like he'll be out beyond the required 15 days. His fastball was electric in his MLB debut back in March in Tokyo and touched triple digits, but he had not reached 99 mph with his heater since, and his shoulder impingement appears to be the primary culprit. In addition to his fastball being easier to hit at a lower velocity, Sasaki has shown poor control of his secondary pitches in his first eight big-league starts, posting a 4.72 ERA and 1.48 WHIP with just a 15.6% strikeout rate and elevated 14.% walk rate. He's a work in progress and probably won't return until June.

The Dodgers will designate catcher Austin Barnes for assignment after they called up top prospect Dalton Rushing from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday, league sources told The Athletic's Fabian Ardaya. Barnes was the team's longest-tenured position player. With Will Smith still the team's starting backstop, Rushing's clearest path to playing time in his first taste of the big leagues will probably be in the outfield with both Teoscar Hernandez (groin) and Tommy Edman (ankle) currently on the injured list. The light-hitting Barnes had been limited to just 13 games to start the 2025 season and was batting .214 (9-for-42) with no home runs, three doubles, two RBI, four runs scored, one walk and 14 strikeouts. The 35-year-old missed time with injuries in 2014 and ended up with just 156 plate appearances, his fewest since 2016.

The Washington Nationals sent first baseman/designated hitter Andres Chaparro (oblique) on a minor-league rehab assignment to the rookie-level Florida Complex League on Wednesday. Chaparro suffered a strained left oblique all the way back in the middle of March during spring training and is just now ready to resume playing in actual games, which means that his return probably isn't imminent. The 26-year-old could have an opportunity to see some playing time as Washington's DH against left-handed pitchers when he returns to the big leagues, potentially in late May or early June. The Venezuelan first baseman made his major-league debut in 2024 and went 26-for-121 (.215) with four home runs, 12 doubles, 15 RBI, one steal and 12 runs scored in 33 games. Fantasy managers in mixed leagues can continue ignoring him for now.

Los Angeles Dodgers left-hander Blake Snell (shoulder) threw out to 60 feet on Wednesday, according to manager Dave Roberts. Snell's visit with a doctor recently went well after he had a bit more discomfort in his left shoulder over the weekend, so he was cleared to throw this week. The 32-year-old two-time Cy Young winner only made two starts with the Dodgers before landing on the injured list due to a left-shoulder injury, and he's had several setbacks along the way. L.A. isn't going to rush their free-agent acquisition back, and we probably won't have a clearer timetable for his potential return to the starting rotation until he begins throwing off a mound again. Even in a best-case scenario, fantasy managers shouldn't expect Snell to return until sometime in June. He allowed only two earned runs in his first two starts, but with eight walks and four K's in nine innings.

Washington Nationals left-hander Mitchell Parker (leg) took a 107.2 mph comebacker off his left leg during his outing on Wednesday against the division-rival Atlanta Braves off the bat of third baseman Austin Riley. Manager Dave Martinez pulled Parker with two outs and runners on second and third in the fifth inning. Parker was charged with four earned runs on four hits while walking two and striking out six in 4 2/3 innings in a no-decision in the team's eventual 5-4 victory. The 25-year-old will surely undergo X-rays to see if he has any fractures or breaks in his leg, so fantasy managers will want to check back later on Wednesday or early on Thursday for an update on his condition. At the very least, Parker's next start is in jeopardy. He's now allowed at least four earned runs in each of his last four outings for the Nats.

St. Louis Cardinals shortstop Masyn Winn went 4-for-5 with a home run, a walk, three RBI, and three runs scored in game 2 of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Phillies. This was his third four-hit game of the season, and he is now slashing .281/.371/.465 with five home runs, 15 RBI, 23 runs, and two stolen bases in 33 games on the year. He was slow out of the gate but has turned things around after returning from the injured list on April 22nd and is showing the breakout potential that many drafted him for.

Philadelphia Phillies starting pitcher Aaron Nola was lit up in game 2 of Wednesday's doubleheader in what ended as a 14-7 loss to the Cardinals. He allowed nine runs on nine hits and one walk in 3 innings. This loss dropped his record to 1-7, continuing an extremely disappointing start to 2025 for the right-hander. This start rose his already poor 4.89 ERA up to 6.16. He'll look to turn things around in his next start, currently set to be against the Rockies at Coors Field.

Philadelphia Phillies starting pitcher Jesus Luzardo pitched well again and earned the win in a 2-1 victory over the Cardinals on Wednesday in game 1 of a doubleheader. He allowed one run on five hits and two walks while striking out six over seven innings. He's yet to give up more than three runs in a start all season, and this was his fifth start allowing one run or less. His ERA is down to 2.00 on the year with an undefeated 4-0 record. The 27-year-old has returned to his pre-2024 form and is a top-25 starting going forward for fantasy.

New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in a 3-2 win over the Mariners on Wednesday. It was his 15th home run of the season, keeping him tied for the league lead with Kyle Schwarber. Judge continues to be the best hitter on the planet, as this was his fourth multi-hit game in his past five. He's well on his way to winning his third AL MVP award.

Arizona Diamondbacks second baseman Ketel Marte hit two home runs and drove in three runs in Wednesday's 8-7 win over the Giants. He was pinch hit for late in the game with hip tightness, but manager Torey Lovullo said he is expected to play Friday. It was precautionary due to his recent return from a strained hamstring. His home run total is now up to five, with all of them coming in his past seven games. He missed some time with the previously mentioned hamstring injury but has quickly returned to being the best second baseman in fantasy.

Milwaukee Brewers first baseman Rhys Hoskins was perfect at the plate in a 9-5 win over the Guardians on Wednesday, going 4-for-4 with a homer, a double, a walk, five RBI, and two runs scored. It was his fifth home run of the year to go along with a .292/.396/.462 slash line. Hoskins is bouncing back nicely after batting just .214 in 2024. Although his .261 xBA suggests he's due for batting average regression, it is still much better than the .202 xBA he posted last season. He's a solid corner infield or utility option for fantasy.

Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager (hamstring) landed on the 10-day injured list with a right-hamstring strain on Tuesday for the second time in less than two weeks. It's similar to the injury that kept him out from April 23 to May 2, but manager Bruce Bochy said Seager's current strain is "in a little different area" of his hamstring. "We want to make sure that this thing is healed up," Bochy said. "We don't want him playing at 75, 80 percent. It could be [more than 10 days]. I don't know for sure." Despite the hammy setbacks this year, the two-time World Series MVP has hit a strong .300/.346/.520 in 26 games in 2025. In his last game on Saturday, he recorded two homers and a double. Josh Smith missed the last few games with a minor back injury but returned for Wednesday's game against the Colorado Rockies, and he should see most of the playing time at the 6 until Seager returns, which might not be until later this month.

Texas Rangers right-handed reliever Chris Martin (elbow) said his MRI results were positive and he will attempt to play catch before the team's game on Wednesday against the visiting Colorado Rockies at Globe Life Field. Martin was listed on the lineup card for the series finale, but it's unclear if he'll actually be available out of the bullpen after he was forced to leave with a trainer after throwing just one pitch in the ninth inning on Tuesday. The 38-year-old appears to have avoided a major injury and should be considered day-to-day for now. Closer Luke Jackson (hand) took a comebacker off his hand on Monday but also avoided a major injury, so the Rangers dodged two bullets with two of their best high-leverage arms this week. Through 20 relief outings this year for Texas, Martin has been great, posting a 1.93 ERA, a 0.96 WHIP, one save, 23 K's and only three walks in 18 2/3 innings.

MLB.com's Mark Bowman reports that Atlanta Braves right-hander Spencer Strider's (hamstring) fastball was at 93-94 mph during the latter stages of a 20-pitch second inning during his simulated game on Wednesday. It's not exactly promising, but fantasy managers also need to remember it's just a simulated game. The 26-year-old isn't going to return from the 15-day injured list this week, but he could still skip a minor-league rehab assignment and rejoin Atlanta's starting rotation next week for a series against the division-rival Washington Nationals. Strider got a late start to 2025 after recovering from an internal-brace procedure on his right elbow last April and then landed on the IL with his right-hamstring strain after just one start. When completely healthy, Strider showed us he has ace potential by winning 20 games and striking out a league-high 281 batters.

Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. (knee) homered in his third plate appearance in his first minor-league rehab game in the rookie-level Florida Complex League on Tuesday in his first game of any kind since May 26 of last year when he tore the ACL in his left knee. Acuna played six innings on Tuesday and will now play his next rehab game on Thursday for Triple-A Gwinnett. It's unclear how long it will be before the 27-year-old former MVP rejoins the Braves, but rehab assignments for position players can last a maximum of 20 days. Atlanta is taking a more cautious approach to Acuna's rehab than they did after his previous right ACL tear a few years ago since he dealt with soreness through the 2022 season after he returned. His numbers were down the rest of the year before he had a historical 2023 campaign. Acuna will be a difference-maker when he returns, likely in late May.

Atlanta Braves rookie catcher Drake Baldwin hit his fourth home run and recorded three hits in Monday's victory over the division-rival Washington Nationals. It was Baldwin's second start in a three-day span, something he had not done since Sean Murphy returned from the injured list in the 10th game of the season. Manager Brian Snitker said the hot-hitting Baldwin will start to play more, and he'll start again in Thursday's series finale against the Nats. The 24-year-old left-handed-hitting backstop should see fairly regular playing time against right-handed pitchers after starting his first MLB season hitting .329/.382/.557 with 11 RBI and eight runs scored in 70 at-bats. The former third-round pick in 2022 from Missouri State has 10 hits in 18 at-bats in eight games in May with two homers, two doubles and five RBI.

The Milwaukee Brewers announced on Tuesday that they placed left-hander Jose Quintana (shoulder) on the 15-day injured list (retroactive to May 11) with a left-shoulder impingement and recalled right-hander Tobias Myers from Triple-A Nashville in a corresponding move. Quintana dealt with some shoulder soreness in his last start. The Brewers were originally hoping to push the 36-year-old veteran southpaw back a few days to Saturday, but they have now made the move to sideline him for a couple of weeks to let him rest. It remains to be seen if he'll be able to return to Milwaukee's starting rotation when he's eligible on May 26. Myers, who was recently sent to Triple-A after a poor start, should fill in for Quintana in the rotation in the short term. Quintana had gone 4-1 with a 2.65 ERA and 1.23 WHIP but with only 24 K's in 34 innings in his six starts.
