San Francisco Giants outfielder Jung Hoo Lee (back) is returning to center field and will bat leadoff on Tuesday against the division-rival Colorado Rockies and left-hander Carson Palmquist at Coors Field. Lee did not start the final two games of the weekend against the Atlanta Braves due to tightness in his back, but he's feeling better after a scheduled day off for travel on Monday. The 26-year-old only played in 37 games in his first season in the big leagues due to a shoulder injury that required surgery. He's already played in 64 games in 2025 and enters Tuesday's tilt slashing .276/.330/.436 with a .766 OPS, six homers, 32 RBI, 35 runs scored and six stolen bases. The Japanese outfielder has actually been better against lefties this year, going 19-for-62 (.306) against them with three of his six homers. Get Lee back in your lineups this week at hitter-friendly Coors Field.

Athletics right-hander Mitch Spence will remain in the starting rotation and get another turn on Tuesday on the road against the division-rival Los Angeles Angels in Anaheim. Spence made his first start of the season last Thursday in a win over the Minnesota Twins and looked good, allowing just one earned run on three hits (one homer) while walking one and striking out four in five innings of work. The 27-year-old could stick around even longer in a starting role if he shows well again on Tuesday, and he has the matchup to do it against an Angels squad that ranks 19th in the league with a .692 OPS. Spence's first 22 outings this year came in a relief role, and he's currently sporting a 4.09 ERA (3.91 FIP), a 1.27 WHIP, one save, 41 strikeouts and 15 walks in 44 innings pitched. He has an underwhelming 19.9% strikeout rate in his two big-league seasons and relies on keeping the ball on the ground.

The Los Angeles Angels announced on Tuesday that they placed outfielder Chris Taylor (hand) on the 10-day injured list with a fractured left hand and added first baseman/outfielder LaMonte Wade Jr. to the major-league roster in a corresponding move. Taylor was recently scooped up by the Halos after he was cut by the Los Angeles Dodgers, but the 34-year-old veteran only made it 10 games with the Angels before fracturing his hand on a hit-by-pitch in Monday's win over the Athletics. There's no timetable for when Taylor might be able to return, but it's a good bet we won't see him until the second half of the season. He had gone 6-for-30 (.200) with a homer, three RBI and a steal as a utility player for the Angels. Wade could see occasional start in the outfield against right-handed pitching but isn't anything more than a bench stash in AL-only leagues after being cut by the Giants earlier this year.

Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is not in the team's starting lineup on Tuesday in the second game of a series in St. Louis against the Cardinals. Ernie Clement will take over at first base and will bat sixth against Cardinals right-hander Miles Mikolas. This is Guerrero's first day off since back on April 10. The 26-year-old four-time All-Star and two-time Silver Slugger winner only has eight long balls on the season through 247 at-bats, but he's thriving otherwise with a .275 average (68-for-247) with 29 RBI, 40 runs scored and a stolen base. So far in eight games in June, he's hitting .250 (8-for-32) with four doubles, three RBI, six runs scored and a stolen base. Clement has one of the slowest swings in the big leagues but stays short and makes plenty of contact. He's hitting .273 (54-for-198) on the year with limited power (three homers). He's hitless in two career at-bats versus Mikolas.

Chicago Cubs manager Craig Counsell said that left-hander Shota Imanaga (hamstring) will require a few more minor-league rehab starts before he returns to the major-league starting rotation. "Shota has got a couple more starts before you're going to see him in Chicago. That's because as a starter, you've got to go through this process where you're lengthened out and your arm recovers," Counsell said. The 31-year-old Japanese hurler threw two scoreless innings in his first rehab start on Monday at the rookie-level Arizona Complex League. If he can avoid setbacks in his next couple of rehab starts on the farm, we could see him back in Chicago by the end of June. He's been slow to recover from a strained left hamstring that has kept him out since early May, but fantasy managers should be stashing him everywhere. Imanaga had a 2.82 ERA and 1.09 WHIP with 34 K's in 44 2/3 frames over eight starts before his injury.

MilwaukeeBrewers first baseman Tyler Black (hand) has resumed his rehab assignment with the team's Arizona Complex League (ACL) affiliate. The 24-year-old had surgery in late March for a right-hamate fracture and started a minor-league rehab assignment with the ACL Brewers on May 15. After a week of games, it was expected that his rehab would be moved to Triple-A Nashville, however, the left-handed hitter appeared in just one contest -- still with the ACL Brewers -- from May 24 through June 5. The former 33rd-overall draft pick has now made three more starts at that level since this past Friday. There's no official word, but it seems Black encountered a setback at some point, so there is no new timeline regarding his move to Nashville. The 6-foot-1 slugger offers solid hit, power, and speed tools, but was unable to get going in his debut with Milwaukee last season, slashing .204/.316/.245 with zero home runs, although he did manage to swipe three bags in 18 games. Check back for updates regarding his progress in the coming days.

An MRI exam showed a stress reaction in Philadelphia Phillies right-hander Aaron Nola's (ankle, rib) right rib cage, according to manager Rob Thomson. Nola will not throw for at least two weeks and now probably won't return from the injured list until after the All-Star break in mid-July. The 32-year-old veteran initially landed on the 15-day IL with a sprained right ankle, but now he's dealing with a much more worrisome injury. In addition to his injuries, the former All-Star wasn't good on the mound before his ankle injury this year, going 1-7 with a 6.16 ERA and 1.51 WHIP with 52 punchouts and 16 walks in 49 2/3 innings over his nine starts. Fantasy managers will still want to stash Nola if they can, but his return is no longer imminent. Rookie Mick Abel should see a longer stay in Philly's rotation now, making him more attractive in shallower formats.

St. Louis Cardinals right-handed pitching prospect Tekoah Roby has been promoted from Double-A Springfield to Triple-A Memphis. Roby, the team's No. 11 prospect per MLB Pipeline, gets the promotion after going 4-2 with a 2.49 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 57:11 K:BB in 47 innings over 10 starts. The 23-year-old former third-rounder by the Texas Rangers in 2020 only managed 10 total starts last year due a shoulder injury, so it's nice to see him bounce back already in 2025. Roby, who stands at 6-foot-1 and 210 pounds, could make his major-league debut later this season if he impresses at Memphis. He features a fastball, nasty curveball, slider and changeup. It's nice to see him performing well this season, but the Cardinals will likely want to see him get through a whole year healthy before considering him for their rotation in 2026.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch's Daniel Guerrero writes that St. Louis Cardinals right-handed pitching prospect Michael McGreevy could come back up to the big leagues to make another spot start later this month. McGreevy came up to make his first start of the year on Sunday against the Los Angeles Dodgers and took the loss after allowing four earned runs on eight hits while walking none and striking out five in six innings. All things considered, it wasn't a bad showing for the 24-year-old, who is considered the team's No. 10 prospect per MLB Pipeline. The former 18th overall pick in 2021 out of Santa Barbara has held his own with a 3.09 ERA and 0.86 WHIP with 10 strikeouts in his two outings (11 2/3 innings) this year after making his MLB debut in 2024. McGreevy's stuff isn't anything special, but he's a ground-ball artist with exceptional control.

St. Louis Post-Dispatch's Derrick Goold writes that St. Louis Cardinals closer Ryan Helsley (toe) dealt with a toe injury on his right foot earlier this year that required him to wear an insert in his cleat that led to a drop in velocity and a lack of command. The 30-year-old right-hander first dealt with the injury in spring training, although he said he feels great now. It's worth noting after he blew his third straight save in Monday's loss to the Toronto Blue Jays. In his three outings in June, Helsley has allowed a run each time out on six total hits (one homer) while walking one and striking out five in three innings. The two-time All-Star currently sports a 3.75 ERA and 3.99 FIP with a 1.54 WHIP and 13 saves in 24 innings in 2025 after leading the league with 49 sacks in 2024. The good news is Helsley's velocity is back up, and he's confident he can bounce back after a rough start to the month.

St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Lars Nootbaar is out of the team's starting lineup for Tuesday's contest against the visiting Toronto Blue Jays at Busch Stadium. Brendan Donovan will start in left field and bat third, while Nolan Gorman starts at second base and bats out of the seven-hole against Blue Jays right-hander Chris Bassitt. Nootbaar will get a day off after starting in each of the team's last 16 contests. It's a good time for a break, as the 27-year-old outfielder has just one hit in his last 19 at-bats to drop his season line to .237/.341/.379 in 253 at-bats. Both Donovan and Gorman have found some success against Bassitt in the past, albeit in small sample sizes. Donovan has hit .429 with a homer and two RBI in seven at-bats, while Gorman has homered twice and driven in four in his two at-bats versus Bassitt. Donovan currently ranks 11th in MLB with his .314 average on the year.

The New York Mets announced on Tuesday that they placed catcher Francisco Alvarez on the paternity list and recalled catcher Hayden Senger from Triple-A Syracuse in a corresponding move. Alvarez will be away from the team for a few days and probably won't return until sometime this weekend for a series at home against the Tampa Bay Rays. With Alvarez out, veteran Luis Torrens will do the catching and hit sixth on Tuesday against the division-rival Washington Nationals and tough left-hander MacKenzie Gore. Senger will serve as New York's backup for a few days. Alvarez got a late start to the 2025 season due to injury and is currently hitting .255 (26-for-102) but with only two home runs, 10 RBI and six runs scored in 114 trips to the plate. Injuries also slowed him down last year, but the 23-year-old hit 25 homers in his first full MLB season in 2023.
