Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Chris Bassitt yielded three hits and one earned run over six innings of work, but did not factor into Sunday's 4-2 home loss to the Chicago White Sox. He issued one free pass and punched out seven. The lone blemish against him -- and all but one hit -- came in the top of the fourth frame when Chicago pushed across a run on a fielder's choice, but he was dominant otherwise, with all the hits tallied against him singles. Bassitt has done exceptionally well inducing soft contact in 2025 -- sporting a 91st percentile average exit velocity (86.8 MPH) and an 85th percentile hard-hit rate (34.1%) through 16 starts. He'll carry a 7-3 record into a road matchup with the Boston Red Sox later this week.
From RotoBaller
Miami Marlins starting pitcher Sandy Alcantara allowed six hits and three earned runs over six innings in his team's 5-3 win against the visiting Atlanta Braves. He walked two and struck out four to notch his fourth quality start and third over his last four outings. After a woeful first few months, Alcantara has turned it around in June, pitching to a 2.74 ERA and 1.00 WHIP through 23 innings (four starts) with a 19:5 K:BB ratio. While it may be too early to tell if he's regaining his pre-elbow injury form, it's undoubtedly nice to see him bring his walk rate down, as he racked up 13 and 12 in April and May, respectively. He'll square off against a strong Arizona Diamondbacks squad later this week on the road.
From RotoBaller
Tampa Bay Rays third baseman Junior Caminero smacked his 19th home run of the season in a 9-3 loss to the Detroit Tigers on Sunday. Caminero hit a 379-foot solo shot off right-hander Casey Mize and also singled during a 2-for-4 afternoon. The 21-year-old has homered in back-to-back games and has now gone deep six times this month. Playing his first full season in the majors, Caminero has been a steady source of production all year. The former elite prospect ranks in the league's 100th percentile in bat speed and has slashed .265/.310/.523 with 50 RBI, 46 runs, and five stolen bases over 306 plate appearances.
From RotoBaller
Kansas City Royals starting pitcher Seth Lugo pitched 6 1/3 innings of one-run ball but did not factor into Sunday's 3-2 loss to the San Diego Padres. The veteran allowed two hits and struck out seven, recording his third outing of 2025 sans issuing a free pass. Lugo boasts a superb 2.93 ERA and 1.05 WHIP through 83 innings (14 starts), but his expected stats tell a different story. The 35-year-old is typically pretty good at outperforming his projections, but he came into this outing with an xERA nearly two full points over his actual (4.94). Furthermore, he had a .280 xBA against and yielded a hard-hit ball 46.3% of the time, placing him in the bottom 15% of all pitchers. He'll get a tough ask next time out against a strong Los Angeles Dodgers lineup at home.
From RotoBaller
Cleveland Guardians starting pitcher Slade Cecconi spun seven innings of shutout ball in Sunday's 3-0 road win against the Athletics. The 25-year-old allowed six hits, one walk, and struck out three to earn his second quality start in seven tries. Cecconi has been decent through 37 1/3 innings -- yielding two earned runs or fewer in all but one of his starts. It's worth mentioning that three of them were five innings or less. Still, it was nice to see him get through seven frames unscathed to record his first scoreless trip to the mound. He'll next toe the slab later this week against the visiting St. Louis Cardinals.
From RotoBaller
Los Angeles Dodgers third baseman Max Muncy put on a brilliant performance Sunday in a 13-7 win over the Washington Nationals. With the Dodgers trailing 3-0 in the bottom of the sixth inning, Muncy crushed a grand slam off left-hander Jose Ferrer to give the Dodgers a lead they wouldn't relinquish. Muncy didn't stop there, adding a three-run homer in the seventh against righty Cole Henry. It's already the second time this season that Muncy has driven in seven runs in a game. The two-time All-Star owned a sub-.600 OPS as late as May 11, but his production has done a 180 since then. He's now hitting a more Muncy-like .242/.373/.442 with 11 HRs, 45 RBI, 31 runs, and four steals across 287 trips to the plate. He'll have a chance to keep rolling with the Dodgers set to start a three-game road series against the Colorado Rockies on Tuesday.
From RotoBaller
Cleveland Guardians closer Emmanuel Clase wiggled out of a ninth-inning jam on Sunday to secure his 18th save in a 3-0 victory over the Athletics. Clase retired the first batter of the inning and then allowed a single, a walk, and an infield single to load the bases. The right-hander came up with a clutch strikeout of Max Muncy and induced a groundout from Lawrence Butler to end the game. It took 31 pitches for Clase to shut the door, but he nonetheless racked up his fourth scoreless appearance in a row. While Clase hasn't posted the near-spotless results he produced a year ago, he's still an above-average option late in games. The 27-year-old has converted 18 of 21 save chances while pitching to a 3.48 ERA with 34:9 K:BB over 33 2/3 innings.
From RotoBaller
San Diego Padres closer Robert Suarez (2-3) threw a scoreless ninth inning Sunday to collect his second win in a 3-2 game against the Kansas City Royals. The right-hander entered a 2-2 tie and retired the first two batters he faced before running into trouble. Suarez walked Drew Waters and then allowed a double to Freddy Fermin, but his defense bailed him out. Waters was thrown out at home on a well-executed relay while trying to score on Fermin's hit. The Padres then walked off the Royals on a Jose Iglesias fielder's choice in the bottom of the ninth. Although he was hardly dominant, Suarez ended a streak of three straight appearances allowing at least one run. He gave up a ghastly seven earned runs and combined for just one inning in that brutal stretch. For the most part, the 34-year-old has performed well this season. He owns a 3.62 ERA with 33:9 K:BB over 32 1/3 frames and has converted 21 of 23 save opportunities.
From RotoBaller
Philadelphia Phillies starting pitcher Jesus Luzardo tossed 6 2/3 scoreless innings in Sunday's 7-1 win against the New York Mets. He yielded three hits and issued one free pass, striking out seven to improve to 7-3 through 16 starts. The Peruvian native was stellar, scattering three singles and piling up 18 swinging strikes to notch a 33% CSW against an excellent Mets lineup. Luzardo has had a few rough outings in recent weeks that have ballooned his ERA and WHIP, but he's brought them back down to a less-ugly 4.08 and 1.37 with two starts of one earned run or fewer over his last three. He'll try to keep it rolling later this week against the Atlanta Braves on the road.
From RotoBaller
New York Yankees reliever Devin Williams notched his 10th save of the season in a 4-2 win over the Baltimore Orioles on Sunday. The right-hander gave up one hit - a single to Jackson Holliday - but retired the other three hitters he faced in the top of the ninth inning. He finished with one strikeout and needed just 14 pitches to finish off the Orioles. Williams has only allowed one run in eight appearances in June and has converted all five of his save chances this month. When high-leverage reliever Luke Weaver returned from the injured list Friday, manager Aaron Boone said he and Williams would each be in line for saves. Since then, Weaver has made one appearance in a non-save situation. He came into a 3-3 game in the top of the eighth inning against the Orioles on Friday and surrendered two runs in a losing effort. The Yankees turned to Williams instead of Weaver on Sunday. We'll see if that changes next time a save opportunity presents itself for the Yankees.
From RotoBaller
Shohei Ohtani's two-way talents were on full display in the Los Angeles Dodgers' 13-7 win over the Washington Nationals on Sunday. On the pitching side, the right-hander opened the game for the Dodgers and threw a scoreless first inning with two strikeouts. One hitter reached on an error, but Ohtani otherwise locked down the top of the Nationals' lineup in his second appearance as a pitcher since returning from 2023 Tommy John surgery. Offensively, Ohtani was his typical electrifying self. The three-time MVP filled the box score with a triple, a homer, five RBI, three runs scored, and a walk in a 2-for-4 afternoon. He's now slashing a tremendous .291/.390/.624 with 26 HRs, 49 RBI, 76 runs, and 11 steals over 359 plate appearances.

The Arizona Diamondbacks have signed catcher James McCann to a Major League contract, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports. McCann became available when the Braves agreed to release him from a minor league deal. While McCann didn't have a path to immediate playing time with the Braves, it's a different story in Arizona. The Diamondbacks have been without starting backstop Gabriel Moreno (finger) for over a week. He's out indefinitely with a hairline fracture in his right index finger. In Moreno's absence, the Diamondbacks have used Jose Herrera and Aramis Garcia behind the plate. Neither player has experienced much success in the majors. McCann, on the other hand, is a former All-Star. However, the 35-year-old hasn't posed an offensive threat over the past few seasons. He spent 2024 with Baltimore and batted .234/.279/.388 with eight home runs and 31 RBI in 226 plate appearances. McCann will now give the catcher-needy Diamondbacks a credible veteran option, but he's unlikely to make an impact for fantasy managers.
From RotoBaller
Cincinnati Reds relief pitcher Emilio Pagan was given the ball with a three-run lead in the ninth inning during Sunday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals. Pagan needed a bounce back outing after blowing the save during Saturday's contest. The right-hander threw a scoreless final frame to earn his 18th save of the season. Before Saturday's outing, Pagan hadn't blown a save since early May. Pagan isn't an elite option, but he has been reliable enough to warrant rostering in most fantasy formats where saves matter.
From RotoBaller
Chicago Cubs outfielder Seiya Suzuki came ready to swing the bat during Sunday's game against the Seattle Mariners. Suzuki smacked a solo shot off right-hander Logan Gilbert in the first inning. He would get Gilbert again with a two-run blast in the sixth inning. Suzuki finished his day 2-for-4 with two homers and three RBI in what ended up being a blowout loss. The veteran slugger has 20 homers on the season as he's quickly climbing up the home run leaderboard in the National League. He needs to be rostered and started in all fantasy formats right now.
From RotoBaller
Seattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh has been unbelievable during this series against the Chicago Cubs. Raleigh got the fun started off early with a two-run home run off right-hander Colin Rea in the first inning. This marks Raleigh's 31st home run of the season, which leads all of baseball right now. The switch-hitting slugger smacked four homers during this three-game series in Chicago. He finished this game 2-for-3 with one homer, two RBI, two walks, and three runs scored in the win. At this point, Raleigh might be a real threat to Aaron Judge's 66-home run record.
From RotoBaller
Milwaukee Brewers relief pitcher Trevor Megill was asked to come on a little earlier than normal during Sunday's game against the Minnesota Twins. Megill was able to get out of the eighth inning and toss a scoreless ninth inning to earn his 17th save of the season. He earned a four-out save, allowing one hit, one walk, and struck out one batter during this outing. Megill has been a viable option in the closer role this season and should be rostered and started in most fantasy formats. The Brewers are winning enough games lately that Megill is getting regular save chances.
From RotoBaller
Colorado Rockies relief pitcher Seth Halvorsen was asked to come onto the mound with a two-run lead in the ninth inning on Sunday. Halvorsen gave up one hit, but was able to work around it and finish off the D-Backs hitters and earn his sixth save of the season. Halvorsen has been a decent option out of the bullpen for the Rockies this season. Unfortunately, the Rockies don't win enough games to warrant rostering Halvorsen in most fantasy formats. He could offer some deep league value, but that's about it.
From RotoBaller
Minnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton has been crushing the ball over the wall lately. On Sunday, Buxton got the game going with a solo home run off right-hander Quinn Priester in the first inning. Buxton continued the fun with another solo blast in the sixth inning. He finished his day 3-for-5 with two homers, two RBI, one stolen base, and a walk in the loss. Buxton did a little bit of everything in this game, but sadly it wasn't enough to get the win. Buxton now has six homers over his last six games, so he needs to be started in fantasy formats right now.
From RotoBaller
Cincinnati Reds starting pitcher Andrew Abbott yielded three hits and one earned run over seven innings in Sunday's 4-1 road win against the St. Louis Cardinals. The former second-round pick struck out three and did not walk a batter to notch his fifth quality start and improve to 7-1. All the hits against him were singles. Abbott allowed a run to cross in the bottom of the second frame, but would retire the next 18 batters he faced in another excellent showing. He boasts a superb 1.79 ERA and 0.96 WHIP through 75 1/3 innings, and has allowed one earned run or fewer in all but two of 13 starts. He'll square off against the visiting San Diego Padres later this week.
From RotoBaller
Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register reports that Los Angeles Angels third baseman Yoan Moncada (knee) is frustrated by the lingering knee issue he's dealt with since the start of the month. Moncada has been shelved on the 10-day injured list since Jun. 2 with knee inflammation. The 30-year-old has yet to progress to fielding grounders or swinging right-handed despite encroaching on his availability date, so it's looking to be longer than a minimum stay on the IL. Teammate Luis Rengifo has primarily occupied the hot corner in his absence and is slashing .241/.279/.397 through 58 May at-bats.
