The Colorado Rockies announced on Tuesday that they placed rookie right-handed reliever Zach Agnos on the bereavement list and recalled right-hander Angel Chivilli from Triple-A Albuquerque in a corresponding move. Agnos will be away from the team for at least a couple days and probably won't rejoin the club until Friday for their series opener at Coors Field against the New York Mets. The 24-year-old has quickly earned the trust of the coaching staff in high-leverage situations in his first year in the big leagues. Agnos picked up his fourth save of the season in the win on Monday over the Miami Marlins and has become one of Colorado's best bets for saves chances in the unlikely event that they pop up (the Rockies have just 10 wins all season). With Agnos away for a few days, Seth Halvorsen or Jake Bird could be called upon if the Rockies have another save situation between now and Friday.

Arizona Diamondbacks right-hander Corbin Burnes (elbow) is going for a second opinion on his injured right elbow on Thursday or Friday after initial tests were inconclusive, according to Arizona Sports' John Gambadoro. Burnes left his last start on Sunday against the Washington Nationals in the fifth inning in a good amount of pain, leading many to believe he had just suffered a season-ending elbow injury. That could still be the case, but we'll know more by this weekend. Either way, the 30-year-old veteran will almost certainly land on the 15-day injured list and could miss extensive time if he avoids a season-ending injury. Fantasy managers in redraft leagues shouldn't outright drop the D-backs ace until we know more about the severity of his elbow injury. Arizona already has Eduardo Rodriguez (shoulder) on the IL, but he's expected to rejoin the rotation next week.

Boston Red Sox third baseman Alex Bregman (quadriceps) is making good progress due to a right-quadriceps injury that landed him on the 10-day injured list on May 24. "Getting treatment, feeling better. Good to see him around. Obviously helping everybody. But in good spirits. So it was a good week for him," manager Alex Cora said. It's good news for the 31-year-old veteran, but it's still hard to estimate when he might be back at the hot corner in Beantown. Until he's able to return -- he could miss anywhere from six to eight weeks -- rookie infielder Marcelo Mayer should hold down duties at third base in Boston. All fantasy managers can do is stay patient and hope Bregman returns sooner or later and picks up where he left off offensively. Before his injury, Bregman was one of the team's most consistent bats with a .299/.385/.553 slash line, 11 homers, 35 RBI and 32 runs scored in 197 at-bats.

New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone said that outfielder Jasson Dominguez (thumb) will not be in the lineup on Tuesday against the visiting Cleveland Guardians due to swelling in his left thumb. Boone said there is some uncertainty around the injury, and Dominguez will be checked by trainers. The 22-year-old switch-hitter jammed his thumb on second base in Sunday's win over the Los Angeles Dodgers and is still dealing with swelling after Monday's off day for travel. It sounds like this could be a situation that could send the Martian to the injured list, but for now, fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day. If Dominguez were to miss extended time with this injury, it would mean more consistent playing time for Ben Rice most likely out of the designated hitter spot. In his first full season in the big leagues, Dominguez is currently hitting .247/.346/.420 with six homers, 25 RBI and eight steals in 49 games.

Colorado Rockies reliever Zach Agnos picked up his fourth save of the season in Monday's 6-4 road victory against the Miami Marlins. The Virginia native fired 7-of-11 pitches for strikes, yielding just one hit (single). Agnos let up a home run in his appearance against the New York Mets on Sunday, so it was nice to see him bounce back with a scoreless outing. He's been perfect thus far, converting all four of his save chances. Unfortunately, he doesn't project to be afforded many opportunities in 2025 with Colorado on a historically dreadful pace. Still, the 24-year-old has been excellent -- sporting a 1.50 ERA and 0.83 WHIP over 16 appearances (18 innings). Agnos hasn't quite found a groove strikeout-wise (11.9%), but his splitter (38.3%) and sweeper (37.5%) are garnering whiffs at a strong rate.
From RotoBaller
New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone said that infielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. (oblique) will come off the 10-day injured list and be in the starting lineup on Tuesday for the contest against the Cleveland Guardians for the first time since April 29. Chisholm will be facing Guardians right-hander Tanner Bibee. The 27-year-old left-handed hitter is expected to move to third base full time in the Bronx with Oswaldo Cabrera (ankle) expected to miss the rest of the season. He went 3-for-9 with a stolen base in three minor-league rehab games with Double-A Somerset. Before injuring his oblique, Chisholm was hitting just .181 (19-for-105) but with seven home runs, 17 RBI, 17 runs scored and six stolen bases in his first 30 games. Chisholm is an everyday player in one of the best lineups in baseball, and his power/speed combination makes him fantasy relevant in all leagues.

New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone said that right-handed reliever Devin Williams will do most of the closing while righty Luke Weaver (hamstring) is sidelined. Weaver, who took over closing duties from Williams early in the season, strained his hamstring on Sunday and could be out for anywhere from four to six weeks. Boone also noted that Fernando Cruz (shoulder) is returning from the 15-day injured list on Tuesday, so he'll help bolster the bullpen with Williams out as well. While Williams' 6.23 ERA and 1.43 WHIP on the season in 21 2/3 innings isn't pretty, he's pitched better of late and has allowed only two earned runs while striking out 15 and walking two in his last 10 innings pitched. His fantasy stock is now up with save chances coming regularly again, and it's possible that he'll stick in the ninth-inning role if he's pitching well when Weaver is ready to return.

Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Mookie Betts (toe) is on track to return for Game 2 of the series against the visiting New York Mets on Tuesday, according to manager Dave Roberts. Before Monday's series-opening loss to New York, Betts fielding ground balls, ran the bases and took batting practice. Barring a setback, he'll be back in the starting lineup on Tuesday against right-hander Tylor Megill. The 32-year-old suffered a fracture on the tip of a toe on his left toe last week while accidentally kicking furniture at his house, and it's kept him out since last Wednesday. Betts can't do additional damage by playing on it, though, and he's expected to avoid the injured list. Fantasy managers will want to get him back into their starting lineups in all leagues on Tuesday. He's faced Megill three times in his career and has one hit against him.
From RotoBaller
Free-agent right-hander Jose Urena signed an undisclosed deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers and will be in L.A. on Tuesday night for the second game of a series against the visiting New York Mets, according to the New York Post's Jon Heyman. Although the Dodgers' starting rotation is beat up, Urena is expected to function in a long-relief role out of their bullpen. The 33-year-old veteran doesn't really warrant any attention in fantasy after allowing 10 earned runs on 19 hits (five homers) while walking four and striking out eight in 15 1/3 innings over seven appearances (two starts) with the Mets and Toronto Blue Jays already this year. Urena was much better with the Texas Rangers last year, posting a 3.80 ERA (4.62 FIP) and 1.32 WHIP with 70 strikeouts, 39 walks and a save in 109 frames over 33 outings (nine starts). He has a career 4.78 ERA and 1.40 WHIP in 11 big-league seasons.

Detroit Tigers outfielder Wenceel Perez went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run in Monday's 13-1 win against the Chicago White Sox. The Dominican Republic native also doubled to pick up his first multi-extra-base-hit performance of the season. Perez crushed a Jonathan Cannon sinker 394 feet in the top of the second inning to give Detroit a 5-0 lead -- his second of the season since returning from the injured list. He then doubled in the top of the fifth to notch his second multi-hit game. It's not a large sample, but he's impacting the ball much harder than last season. If Perez can sustain the 92.4 MPH average exit velocity he's produced through six appearances, it'd put him in the top 30 amongst all hitters in the metric.

Minnesota Twins first baseman Ty France went 3-for-5 with two singles and a double in his team's 10-4 win against the Athletics. He also scored twice and drove in a pair of runs, marking back-to-back multi-hit efforts for him. The veteran has been excellent in recent weeks, picking up at least one hit in 12 of his last 14 appearances. Over that span, he's an impressive 17-for-53 (.321) with 11 RBI, five runs scored, and two extra-base hits (home run). The hot stretch has brought France's season average up to .269 -- right around where he was before batting .244 in the month of May. If it holds, it'll be his best season line since 2022 when he hit .274 in 140 games.
From RotoBaller
Minnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton went 2-for-5 with a single and a double in Monday's 10-4 win against the Athletics. The veteran drove in five, scored a run, hit a sac fly, and swiped a bag. Buxton doubled home teammates Kody Clemens and Ty France in the top of the second to give the Twins a 4-0 lead and knocked in the pair again in the top of the sixth with a two-out RBI single. Then, the former first-round pick drove in his fifth run with a sac fly in the ninth. He's recorded two hits in each of his three appearances since returning from a concussion -- batting a crisp .353 (6-for-17) with four runs scored, eight RBI, and two steals. The theft was his tenth of the year -- matching his home run total.

New York Mets infielder Ronny Mauricio will join the team in Los Angeles for the rest of their series against the Dodgers, after Mark Vientos (hamstring) suffered an injury in the tenth inning of Monday night's win. Mauricio played 26 games for the Mets in 2023 and is a key prospect for them going forward, but missed all of 2024 and got a late start to this season after suffering a torn ACL in the Dominican Winter League in December of 2023. After playing 10 games in the lower minors, Mauricio has looked excellent in nine games in Triple-A with the Syracuse Mets. He went 17-for-33 (.515) with three home runs, four stolen bases, a .583 wOBA, and a 48.3% hard-hit rate in that small sample size. He could step right into an everyday role at 3B if Vientos is out a while, and his well-rounded prospect profile with power, speed, and contact makes him a great pickup in standard leagues. He has a very high ceiling and will likely end up with eligibility at multiple positions while making contributions in multiple categories if he stays in the majors the rest of the year.
From RotoBaller
Colorado Rockies shortstop Ezequiel Tovar seems to have avoided any serious injury after leaving Monday's game against the Marlins in the eighth inning. Tovar said that he felt a pinch on his left side around his rib, but he also said that he should be able to play Tuesday as the Rockies continue their series in Miami. If he does end up missing time, Orlando Arcia would likely get more work at shortstop. Tovar has been limited to 32 games this season by injury but is hitting .258 with three homers, two stolen bases, and a .311 wOBA when available. His 44.0% hard-hit rate and 9.0% barrel rate indicate his quality of contact has been better than his results, so he could be due for some positive regression as the season goes on, as long as his injury doesn't turn out to be more serious than initially expected.
From RotoBaller
San Francisco Giants first baseman LaMonte Wade Jr. was hit on the right hand by a pitch in the second inning of Monday night's game against the Padres and was replaced in the next half-inning by Casey Schmitt. He had an X-ray on his hand, but manager Bob Melvin said that the X-ray was negative, and he is day-to-day while dealing with a contusion. Schmitt will likely get most of the playing time if Wade misses a few games, and Jerar Encarnacion could also be in the mix after making his season debut on Monday night. Wade has struggled this season, hitting only .167 with one home run and a .251 wOBA in his 50 games. Schmitt has only hit .186 with a .264 wOBA in his 16 games, so neither option has been on the fantasy radar at this point. Encarnacion has a very high ceiling, so monitor his playing time and see if anyone can emerge as a fantasy option at the position for the Giants.

New York Mets third baseman Mark Vientos went down with an apparent hamstring injury in the tenth inning of his team's 4-3 win over the Dodgers on Monday night. After entering the game as a pinch hitter in the designated hitter spot, he grounded out in his second at-bat for the third out of the 10th inning. He fell to the ground and stayed down for a minute before walking off with only a little help from the training staff. After the game, manager Carlos Mendoza said that Vientos was undergoing testing but that it "didn't look good." If Vientos is forced to miss time, prospect Ronny Mauricio could be called on to help fill in. Mauricio is hitting .323 in his 19 games in the minors this season with three homers, six stolen bases, and a .389 wOBA. He can play a variety of infield positions, and his multi-faceted potential makes him a great target in standard leagues if he gets to play in an everyday role for the Mets.

Tigers' RF Kerry Carpenter had five RBIs going 3-for-5 with three home runs in a 13-1 win over Chicago on Monday, Jun. 2.
Twins' CF Byron Buxton had five RBIs going 2-for-5 in a 10-4 win over Las Vegas on Monday, Jun. 2.
New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor went 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBI in Monday's 4-3 road win over the Los Angeles Dodgers. He also singled and notched his eleventh steal of the season. The fantasy stalwart didn't take long to leave his mark on this one, blasting Dodgers starter Dustin May's second offering of the matchup 417 feet over the right-field wall. That was homer No. 14 for him, and the sixth time he's done so to lead off a game -- tying him with Shohei Ohtani for the major-league lead and putting him one behind Curtis Granderson for the most in a single season in Mets' history. He'd also notch a clutch RBI single in the top of the tenth inning to push the go-ahead run across in teammate Starling Marte. Lindor is up to four homers in as many games with three multi-hit outings in that stretch.
