Philadelphia Phillies starting pitcher Cristopher Sanchez allowed one run on six hits and three walks with six strikeouts in 7 innings in a 2-1 victory against the Padres. This was his eighth win of the season, bringing his record to 8-2. The 28-year-old has been one of the most reliable pitchers in baseball, as this was his eighth straight quality start. The lefty heads into the break with a 2.50 ERA and 1.14 WHIP with 122 strikeouts through 115 innings pitched. He's been regarded as one of the biggest All-Star snubs, and the Phillies recently activated his bonus All-Star clause in his contract to reward him, despite not officially making the team.

Philadelphia Phillies relief pitcher Matt Strahm recorded his sixth save of the season in a 2-1 win over the Padres on Sunday. He allowed two walks, but didn't give up any hits and ultimately left the inning unscathed. Orion Kerkering came in for Cristopher Sanchez in the eighth inning, getting the last two outs of the frame without allowing any runs. This was Strahm's first save since June 29, but that was mainly due to a lack of opportunity. Both Kerkering and Jordan Romano have gone even longer without a save, so it looks like Strahm is holding the top spot in that bullpen for now. The 33-year-old posted a 3.29 ERA with 44 strikeouts and 12 walks in 38 innings in the first half.

Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Jacob Misiorowski is drawing interest from his club to negotiate a contract extension, reports Francys Romero. The Brewers reportedly made an offer earlier in the season, but they are still far apart from what Misiorowski is looking for. It's no surprise that Milwaukee is looking to extend the youngster, as he's coming off a 12-strikeout performance against one of the best offenses in the league. Despite only making five career starts, the 23-year-old was recently named to the NL All-Star team. He's posted a 2.81 ERA and 0.90 WHIP with 33 strikeouts in 25 innings and could be the ace of the staff for a very long time.

Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. has been checked on by eight teams recently regarding potential trades, reports Jon Heyman of The New York Post. Some teams that look like potential fits are the Phillies, Dodgers, Padres, Royals, and Mets. While Robert was once considered to be one of the next young superstars, his career has turned into more of an injury-plagued disappointment since. This season, he is slashing just .190/.275/.325 with nine home runs and 22 stolen bases in 79 games. It's possible that the potential suitors for the 27-year-old think they can fix him, especially if his price on the trade market comes at a discount.

Cincinnati Reds reliever Emilio Pagan notched his 20th save of the season on Sunday, working a perfect ninth inning with a strikeout in his team's 4-2 win over the Colorado Rockies. The 34-year-old is enjoying a resurgent season, as he's gone 20/23 in save opportunities while recording 2.93 ERA, 0.88 WHIP, and 50 strikeouts in 40 innings pitched. Pagan still allows far too many home runs (1.62 HR/9), but he limits base runners (.157 batting average against). He last received regular work as a closer back in 2019 with the Tampa Bay Rays, but he's earned a decent runway to remain the Reds' top save option the rest of the way.
From RotoBaller
Chicago Cubs reliever Daniel Palencia recorded his 12th save of the season on Sunday, working a perfect inning with a strikeout in his team's 4-1 win over the New York Yankees. The 25-year-old earned his first save for the Cubs on May 21 and hasn't looked back, converting 12/13 save chances. In 34 1/3 innings, he's pitched to a 1.57 ERA and 0.88 WHIP with 39 strikeouts. Palencia's 2.73 xERA entering play on Sunday points to likely second-half regression, but even still he's a valuable piece of the Cubs bullpen. Palencia appears locked into the team's closer role for now, but that could change if the Cubs make a notable bullpen addition or two at the trade deadline.

Miami Marlins outfielder Kyle Stowers had a huge day in his team's 11-1 victory over the Baltimore Orioles. The 27-year-old lefty-swinger went five-for-five with three home runs, an additional run scored, and six RBI. Stowers becomes the second player in MLB history to record a three-homer game against a former team after New York Yankees outfielder Cody Bellinger did it against the Chicago Cubs on Friday night. The Marlins acquired Stowers from Baltimore as part of the return for left-hander Trevor Rodgers in July 2024. That deal looks like a fleecing for Miami, as Stowers has enjoyed a breakout 2025 season. In 346 plate appearances, he's slashing .293/.368/.543 with 19 home runs, 54 RBI, 46 runs scored, and four stolen bases. Stowers will suit up for the National League in the All-Star Game on Tuesday.

Tampa Bay Rays infielder Ha-Song Kim (foot) left his team's 4-1 loss to the Boston Red Sox on Sunday in the seventh inning after fouling a ball off his left foot. X-rays on Kim's foot were negative, according to Ryan Bass of FanDuel Sports Network Florida & Sun. This foot injury is the latest blow in what's been a frustrating season for Kim. The 29-year-old missed the first three months of 2025 due to recovery from a torn labrum that ended his 2024 season. He battled a calf injury almost immediately after his return on July 4 and will now deal with this foot ailment. Kim's hit .227 with a home run and a stolen base in the 22 plate appearances he's logged so far this year. In 470 plate appearances in 2024, Kim slashed .230/.330/.370 with 11 home runs, 47 RBI, 60 runs scored, and 22 stolen bases. The All-Star break will give him a chance to recover, potentially without missing any games.

New York Yankees starter Luis Gil (lat) was sharp in his first rehab outing as he works his way back from a lat injury that has prevented him from pitching in the big leagues so far in 2025. Gil got the start for Double-A Somerset and threw 3 1/3 innings, allowing two hits, a walk, and an earned run while striking out six. Gil was removed from the game after 50 pitches, so he'll likely need at least a few more rehab appearances before rejoining the Yankees. The 27-year-old flamethrower won the American League Rookie of the Year award in 2024, going 15-7 with a 3.50 ERA, 1.19 WHIP, and 171 strikeouts in 151 2/3 innings (29 starts). There's a clear spot for him in the Yankees' rotation now that fellow starter Clarke Schmidt has been lost for the year due to Tommy John surgery.

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Sal Frelick (hamstring) left the game in the third inning of his team's 8-1 win over the Washington Nationals on Sunday. Frelick felt discomfort in his left hamstring, according to the team, and was replaced by Isaac Collins in right field. The 25-year-old Frelick is in the midst of his best big-league season, slashing .294/.354/.404 with seven home runs, 39 RBI, 46 runs scored, and 17 stolen bases. He doesn't make a ton of hard contact (26.9% hard-hit rate entering play on Sunday), but he's difficult to punch out (12.7% strikeout rate). Frelick will have the All-Star break to heal his hamstring, so he may be able to avoid missing games. His speed is a big part of his fantasy value, so nursing a bum hamstring could potentially impact his utility in the second half of the season.

Astros outfielder Yordan Alvarez (hand) is set for re-evaluation Thursday as team doctors consider clearing him to start swinging a bat. Alvarez was placed on the injured list on May 6 with a right hand fracture. His return timeline remains undefined. The 28-year-old slugger was struggling before the injury in 29 games, slashing .210/.306/.340 with three home runs and a .646 OPS. Alvarez reports no pain in his hand and would be a welcome offensive boost for the banged-up Astros as they aim for a postseason run.
From RotoBaller
Astros General Manager Dana Brown reported on the team's pregame radio show that outfielder Jake Meyers (calf) will miss more than three weeks because of his calf injury. Meyers was placed on the 10-day injured list on July 11 with a right calf strain after it tightened up before a July 9 game against the Guardians. The 29-year-old was enjoying a breakout season before the injury, slashing .308/.369/.405 with three home runs across 89 games. He is now targeting an August return and will aim to recapture his early-season form for a surging Astros team.
From RotoBaller
Cleveland Guardians right-hander Shane Bieber (elbow) is scheduled to make his first rehab start Tuesday in the Arizona Complex League after suffering a setback in his Tommy John recovery last month. The 30-year-old is expected to throw around two innings or 35 pitches as he works toward an August return. Bieber made only two starts in 2024 before tearing the UCL in his right elbow, allowing no runs and striking out 20 batters across 12 innings. He has spent his entire career in Cleveland and could be a key addition to a pitching staff that ranks 18th in MLB with a 3.92 team ERA.
From RotoBaller
Astros General Manager Dana Brown has reported that right-hander Luis Garcia (elbow) has worked his way up to 94 mph and is targeting late July to early August for a return. Garcia hasn't appeared in an MLB game since the 2023 season, when an elbow injury forced him to undergo Tommy John surgery. He reportedly experienced a setback in April but is still looking to contribute meaningful innings for a competitive Astros team. Before going down with the injury, Garcia had a 3.61 ERA over four seasons with the Astros and had emerged as a promising starter in the AL West.

Cleveland Guardians outfield prospect Chase DeLauter was held out of the lineup for Triple-A Columbus on Sunday due to ongoing right wrist soreness. The 23-year-old also did not start Saturday night and will have the injury examined during the International League All-Star break. DeLauter, the No. 34 prospect in baseball, is slashing .278/.383/.476 with five home runs in 34 games with Columbus. He continues to flash high-end offensive potential but has struggled to stay on the field. The Guardians will hope for good news, as his health remains a key concern heading into the second half.
From RotoBaller
Pittsburgh Pirates shortstop Konnor Griffin (hand) is reportedly fine after getting hit by a pitch during Saturday's All-Star Futures Game. This is good news after Griffin took a fastball to the hand during the fourth inning of Saturday's contest. The 19-year-old was checked out and cleared, so it looks like he'll be fine going forward. Griffin is slashing .327/.400/.521 with 13 home runs, 53 RBI, and 41 stolen bases in 75 games in Single-A. Griffin is one of the best prospects in the game and is someone to keep an eye on for years to come.
From RotoBaller
Tampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Shane McClanahan (triceps) took the mound for a rehab start with Triple-A Durham on Sunday. He started his rehab assignment earlier in the week with a scoreless inning of work in the Rookie-level Florida Complex league. The 28-year-old took the ball again on Sunday, but didn't give another scoreless outing. McClanahan tossed 1.2 innings, allowing one earned run on four hits while striking out three batters. The expectation is that McClanahan will need a few more rehab starts before returning to the Rays roster. He has been sidelined since spring training, but is hopeful to be available in early August.
From RotoBaller
Miami Marlins starting pitcher Edward Cabrera (elbow) appears to have avoided any major injuries. The MRI on Cabrera came back clean, so there's no structural damage done to his elbow. The right-hander was forced to make an early exit from Friday's start. The organization is hopeful that Cabrera is able to avoid a trip to the injured list. Luckily, Cabrera will get an extended week off with the All-Star break beginning on Monday. The Marlins will likely wait and see how Cabrera feels after a few days before making any further decisions.
From RotoBaller
Philadelphia Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm (rib) is out of the starting lineup ahead of Sunday's game against the San Diego Padres. Unsurprisingly, Bohm will take a seat after exiting early on Saturday due to a bruised left rib cage. This is the final game before the All-Star break, so it's not shocking to see the Phillies giving Bohm the day off. The hope is that he'll be ready to go following the break. In the meantime, Edmundo Sosa will bat eighth and play third base versus right-hander Nick Pivetta on Sunday. Fantasy managers should adjust their lineups ahead of first pitch.
From RotoBaller
Washington Nationals shortstop CJ Abrams (undisclosed) has been scratched from the starting lineup ahead of Sunday's game against the Milwaukee Brewers. There is no word on why Abrams is being pulled from the lineup, but there should be more information shortly. This is the final game before the All-Star break, so hopefully Abrams will be fine to play after the break. In the meantime, Paul DeJong will cover shortstop and bat cleanup versus right-hander Freddy Peralta on Sunday. Fantasy managers should adjust their lineups ahead of first pitch.
