Minnesota Twins manager Rocco Baldelli said that third baseman Royce Lewis (hamstring) has a "left-hamstring strain of some kind." "He actually tested relatively well after the game upon examination in the training room. We're going to bring him in tomorrow and check him out, see how he comes in." While the team is saying the injury isn't all that serious, Lewis has a history of hamstring issues and missed the first month-plus of the 2025 season with a strain in the same hamstring. The 26-year-old will be evaluated again on Saturday, but we wouldn't be surprised if he lands on the injured list. He went 2-for-4 with a solo homer, his second of the year, in the 10-3 loss to the Astros. The former first overall pick came into Friday's game hitting just .189 in 106 at-bats in 29 games, but he has 30-homer power if he can ever play a full season. Brooks Lee would take over again at third base if Lewis goes back on the IL.
From RotoBaller
Houston Astros third baseman Isaac Paredes (hamstring) is dealing with a left-hamstring strain, but he's not going on the injured list. Manager Joe Espada seemed hopeful that Paredes can avoid a trip to the IL altogether. The 26-year-old came up lame on Thursday night against the Chicago White Sox while trying to beat out a double-play ground ball and sat out of Friday's series-opening blowout win over the Minnesota Twins. While he may not return for Game 2 of the series against the Twins on Saturday, it sounds like the Mexican third baseman might not miss extended time. It's great news for fantasy managers, as Paredes has been one of the Astros' most productive hitters in his first year with the team. He already has 15 home runs, 42 RBI and 37 runs scored in 251 at-bats. Mauricio Dubon could see additional starts at the hot corner until Paredes returns.

New York Mets right-hander Kodai Senga (hamstring) has been diagnosed with a Grade 1 hamstring strain, according to NorthJersey's Andrew Tredinnick. Senga will be re-evaluated after two weeks, and it's relatively good news for the Mets, Senga and fantasy managers. The 32-year-old injured his right hamstring while covering first base in Thursday's win against the Washington Nationals when he came down awkwardly on the first base bag on a high throw. Based on the way it looked, the diagnosis of a mild hamstring strain is good news. Senga is still going to miss at least several weeks, and depending on whether he needs a minor-league rehab assignment, he might be cutting it close to make it back before the All-Star break in mid-July. Keep him stashed in all fantasy leagues. Meanwhile, Paul Blackburn is taking his rotation spot for now. He's a deep-league streamer with limited upside.

Detroit Tigers second baseman Gleyber Torres broke a 28-game home run drought in an 11-5 victory over the Cincinnati Reds on Friday. Torres, who hadn't homered since May 12, got to work immediately with a leadoff HR in the bottom of the first inning against starter Nick Martinez. He added another solo shot in the seventh against reliever Ian Gibaut for his first multi-homer game of the season. Torres ended the evening 2-for-4 with three RBI and a strikeout. Although he went a few weeks without a homer, Torres has been quite productive this year. He's hitting .271/.373/.414 with seven HRs, 33 RBI, 32 runs scored, four steals, and 33:30 BB:Kin 249 plate appearances. The plate discipline gains are especially encouraging for Torres, who posted a 20.3% strikeout rate and a 9.1% walk rate from 2018-24 as a Yankee.

Atlanta Braves designated hitter Marcell Ozuna helped lead the club's offensive onslaught in a 12-4 victory over the Colorado Rockies on Friday. Ozuna came to the plate in the seventh inning in a 4-4 tie and slammed a three-run homer off right-hander Victor Vodnik to give the Braves the lead for good. He finished the night 1-for-4 with four RBI and a pair of strikeouts. Ozuna has just two HRs in a 19-game span, though he has been playing through a hip injury that may be sapping him of power.. The 34-year-old is still hitting a highly effective .257/.392/.430 with a career-best 17.8% walk rate in 286 plate appearances. However, with 11 homers and 34 RBI, Ozuna is well off the 40/100 pace he set in the previous two seasons. He'll face Rockies lefty Austin Gomber on Saturday. Ozuna has gone 3-for-7 against Gomber.
From RotoBaller
Detroit Tigers outfielder Riley Greene homered and drove in four runs to help the club to an 11-5 win over the Cincinnati Reds on Friday. Greene hadn't gone deep since May 30, but he ended a 12-game dry spell with a 426-foot bomb off starter Nick Martinez in the bottom of the third inning. The 24-year-old also doubled during a 2-for-4 night. He's now batting .279/.334/.498 with 14 HRs, 48 RBI, and 34 runs scored over 287 plate appearances. While Greene is striking out at a lofty 31.4% clip, he's on pace to eclipse the career-high marks in HRs (24) and RBI (74) he established last year. The lefty-swinging Greene is a must-start for fantasy managers against right-handed pitchers. He'll face Reds righty Brady Singer on Saturday.
From RotoBaller
Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. went 3-for-4 with a double, a walk, and a pair of runs scored in a 12-4 victory over the Colorado Rockies on Friday. Notably, Acuna also nabbed his first stolen base of the season in the Atlanta blowout. Acuna hadn't even attempted a steal in 2025 since making his season debut May 23. After taking a year to recover from a torn left ACL, Acuna has been careful on the base paths. He had been a significant source of steals since bursting on the scene in 2018, even amassing an incredible 73 during his most recent full season in 2023. While that part of Acuna's game hasn't been there this season, he's still terrorizing opposing pitchers with a .375/.458/.667 line, six home runs, and 11 RBI in 83 plate appearances. More steal attempts should come as Acuna continues distancing himself from last year's injury.

New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge crushed his 26th home run of the season in a 2-1 loss to the Boston Red Sox on Friday. Judge struck out in his first three at-bats against star southpaw Garrett Crochet, but he got a measure of revenge in the top of the ninth inning. With Boston leading 1-0 and Crochet two outs away from a complete-game shutout, Judge crushed a 443-footer over the Green Monster to tie the game. While Boston won in extra innings, Judge continues to tear it up. Now tied with Seattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh for the league lead in homers, Judge has put together a ridiculous .390/.485/.780 line with an AL-best 60 RBI in 303 trips to the plate. He'll face Red Sox righty Hunter Dobbins on Saturday. Judge took Dobbins yard in a meeting last weekend.
From RotoBaller
Colorado Rockies third baseman Ryan McMahon delivered a stellar showing in the team's 12-4 loss to the Atlanta Braves on Friday. McMahon went 3-for-4 with a home run, a double, a walk, and three RBI to continue putting a slow start to his season in the rear-view mirror. The 30-year-old was hitting a dismal .147/.273/.235 at the end of April, but the proverbial light bulb went on at the beginning of May. McMahon is now slashing a respectable .226/.342/.400 with nine homers, 22 RBI, a career-high 14.7% walk rate in 272 plate appearances. With an exit velocity that ranks in the league's 98th percentile and a .354 xwOBA, McMahon looks likely to reach the 20-HR mark for the fifth year in a row.

Boston Red Sox ace Garrett Crochet put on a clinic in a 2-1 win over the New York Yankees on Friday. Crochet fired 8 1/3 innings of one-run, four-hit ball with seven strikeouts and one walk before exiting a 1-1 game. The 25-year-old left-hander was just two outs away from the first complete game of his career, but Yankees slugger Aaron Judge dashed his hopes with a solo home run in the top of the ninth. The Red Sox then pulled Crochet, who logged 107 pitches on the night. While Crochet's start didn't end the way he wanted it to, it was another great outing in a season full of standout performances. He now owns a sparkling 2.24 ERA with 117 strikeouts and 28 walks over 96 1/3 frames. Crochet will return to the mound on Wednesday in Seattle.

Kansas City Royals second baseman Jonathan India (shoulder) was looked at by a trainer after diving for a ball behind second base on Friday against the visiting Athletics. India initially stayed in the game but was holding his shoulder. MLB.com's Anne Rogers reports that India exited the game in the seventh inning. Nick Loftin moved from left field to second, with Drew Waters entering the game in left field. Before departing, India went 0-for-3 out of the leadoff spot for the Royals. The injury didn't look great for the 28-year-old, so it would be a surprise if he's back in action for Game 2 of the series at Kauffman Stadium on Saturday. If India misses extended time with his shoulder injury, Loftin would be the primary replacement at the keystone in KC. In his first year with the Royals, India hasn't been much of a fantasy asset, as he entered Friday's game with a .252 average, just three homers, 18 RBI and 27 runs.

Texas Rangers outfielder Evan Carter (wrist), who made an excellent diving catch in the fourth inning against the Chicago White Sox, left the game early with wrist soreness and will be re-evaluated, according to The Dallas Morning News' Evan Grant. Wyatt Langford shifted from left to center field to replace Carter, with Sam Haggerty entering the game in left field. Before leaving, Carter went 0-for-2 with a walk. It's not what fantasy managers want to hear, as the 22-year-old entered Friday's series opener against Chicago with a four-game hitting streak in which he went 10-for-16 with three home runs, two doubles, seven RBI, two steals and seven runs scored. The former second-rounder got a late start in 2025 due to injury and only played in 45 games in 2024 because of a serious back ailment. Carter has the ability to contribute across all categories when healthy. Stay tuned for the severity of his injury.
From RotoBaller
Detroit Tigers starting pitcher Reese Olson (finger) appears to be cleared and ready to begin a minor league rehab assignment. Olson has been sidelined since the middle of May due to inflammation in his right finger. He's now taking the next step in his recovery process and beginning a rehab assignment with Triple-A Toledo on Saturday. The expectation is that Olson is going to need more than one rehab start before rejoining the Tigers rotation. Hopefully, Olson is back in the mix before the end of June. Fantasy managers should stay tuned for more updates on his status.
From RotoBaller
Philadelphia Phillies starting pitcher Ranger Suarez was tough to hit during Friday's game against the Toronto Blue Jays. This was a truly masterful performance as the Jays' hitters couldn't really make any hard contact. Suarez tossed seven scoreless frames, allowing four hits, one walk, and striking out six batters in the win. Another gem for Suarez who has allowed one earned run or less in four of his last five starts. He's looking like a must-start option for his next start against the Miami Marlins
From RotoBaller
Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Kyle Schwarber came up with a big hit at the plate during Friday's game against the Toronto Blue Jays. In the second inning, Schwarber took right-hander Kevin Gausman deep for a three-run home run to give his team a 4-0 lead. He was fairly quiet the rest of the game as he finished 1-for-4 with one homer, three RBI, and a walk in the win. Schwarber has now homered in back-to-back games and is a threat to go deep every time he comes up to the plate. This blasts puts him one behind Shohei Ohtani for the National League lead in homer
From RotoBaller
Pittsburgh Pirates relief pitcher David Bednar was called upon to hold a one-run lead against the Chicago Cubs on Friday. The right-hander was given the ball in the 10th inning with an automatic runner at second base to begin the inning. That didn't seem to bother Bednar as he tossed a perfect frame to record his 10th save of the season. The right-hander was thrown nine straight scoreless frames, which dates back to late May. It's nice to see Bednar getting back on the right track as he could be a popular name around the trade deadline. For now, he's worth rostering in fantasy formats where saves matter.
From RotoBaller
Pittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Paul Skenes was once again sharp on the mound during Friday's start against the Chicago Cubs. Skenes saw his pitch count quickly rise on him, so he didn't have an extremely long out. He tossed five scoreless innings, allowing four hits, while walking two batters and striking out five in the no-decision. Skenes has been unbelievable as he's allowed one earned run or less in each of his last seven starts. He's obviously a must-start in all fantasy formats as he heads into a tough matchup against the Detroit Tigers next week.

Tampa Bay Rays infielder Ha-Seong Kim (hamstring, shoulder) was pulled off his minor-league rehab assignment on Thursday with the Triple-A Durham Bulls due to right-hamstring tightness, according to Bally Sports' Ryan Bass. The Rays expect him to resume his rehab assignment as soon as next week, though. Kim hasn't played yet in 2025 after having offseason surgery on his shoulder, and this hamstring injury will push him back a little bit further from making his debut with Tampa. The 29-year-old has played in 12 games on the farm at Durham, hitting .211/.347/.263 with four RBI, two steals and eight runs scored. Barring another setback, Kim should make his season debut before the All-Star break in mid-July and will be the Rays' starting shortstop. He'll represent a nice source of stolen bases with middling power as middle-infield depth in deep-mixed leagues.
From RotoBaller
New York Mets right-hander Paul Blackburn will enter the starting rotation and pitch on Wednesday against the division-rival Atlanta Braves, according to manager Carlos Mendoza. Blackburn will be taking the rotation spot of right-hander Kodai Senga, who is heading to the 15-day injured list after straining his right hamstring on Thursday. The 31-year-old Blackburn could stay in New York's rotation for a couple of starts or until Frankie Montas (lat) is able to make his season debut. Blackburn also began the year on the injured list and has only made two appearances (one start), giving up three earned runs on 10 hits while walking two and striking out six in nine innings. He'll profile as a low-upside streaming option for those in deeper fantasy leagues due to his weak 6.9 career K/9 mark. Blackburn shut out the Dodgers for five innings in his first start of the year back on June 2.
From RotoBaller
Chicago White Sox manager Will Venable said that newly-acquired right-hander Aaron Civale will make his debut with the team this Sunday on the road against the Texas Rangers at Globe Life Field. The White Sox acquired Civale and cash from the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday in exchange for first baseman and former third overall pick Andrew Vaughn. The 30-year-old requested a trade from the Brewers after they demoted him to a bullpen role and replaced him with pitching prospect Jacob Misiorowski. In Chicago, he'll be locked into a starting role for the rest of the year, but that's about where the positives end in terms of fantasy. Civale isn't going to be in line for many wins with the move to the Windy City and the worst team in the American League, and there isn't much strikeout upside. Due to an injury early in the year, he's made only five starts in 2025 and has an ERA just south of 5.00.
