Tanner Scott Tue Sep 9 12:00am CT

Los Angeles Dodgers closer Tanner Scott was not able to finish a no-hit bid but did pick up his 21st save of the season in Monday's 3-1 win over the Rockies. Scott came in to pitch the top of the ninth inning up by two. He allowed a leadoff double to break up the no-hitter, but got a line-out, a ground-out, and another line-out to end the game. The 31-year-old has been inconsistent for the Dodgers and fantasy managers lately, converting two of his four save opportunities with a 9.82 ERA in the last 15 days. Overall, he has converted 21 of 30 save opportunities with a 4.47 ERA, a 1.21 WHIP, and a 9.30 K/9 rate in 50 1/3 innings of work. The Dodgers have also been scuffling as a team, so fantasy managers may consider looking for bullpen reinforcements for the final few weeks of the season.

Shane Bieber Mon Sep 8 11:50pm CT

The Toronto Blue Jays will start right-hander Shane Bieber on Tuesday in their series opener against the Astros, per the Athletic's Mitch Bannon. Bieber's last start came last Wednesday, and the Blue Jays will deploy him on Tuesday, Jose Berrios on Wednesday, and Kevin Gausman for the finale on Thursday. The 30-year-old, who spent most of this season recovering from Tommy John surgery, has looked good overall in his three starts, going 2-1 with a 4.15 ERA, a 0.81 WHIP, and a 32.3% strikeout rate. The Astros have been a slightly above-average matchup lately, so Bieber should have a chance to keep things moving in the right direction.

Tyler Glasnow Mon Sep 8 11:50pm CT

Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow (back) turned in an excellent start in Monday's 3-1 win against the Rockies. Glasnow, who had his start pushed back a few days due to back stiffness, tossed seven no-hit innings, allowing one run on two walks with 11 strikeouts. Tanner Scott gave up a double in the ninth to end the no-hit bid, but Glasnow still picked up the win. As fantasy managers have come to expect, the 32-year-old has battled injuries but has provided high-end production when on the mound, going 2-3 with a 3.21 ERA, a 1.03 WHIP, and a 10.94 K/9 rate in 15 starts and 75 2/3 IP. His next scheduled matchup lines up to be a tough one against the Phillies, but fantasy managers should feel comfortable starting him if he's healthy.

Luis Torrens Mon Sep 8 11:40pm CT

The New York Mets placed backup catcher Luis Torrens (forearm) on the 10-day injured list on Monday with a bruised right forearm, per MLB.com's Anthony DiComo. While the Mets expect Torrens to return from the IL when first eligible on September 17, they wanted a fully healthy backup catcher available, with starter Francisco Alvarez playing through a sprained right thumb ligament and a broken left pinkie. Hayden Senger was called up from Triple-A Syracuse in a corresponding move. Torrens has not been on fantasy radars, as he carries a .225/.287/.348 slash line in 266 plate appearances. Senger hasn't fared much better offensively at Triple-A, so his call-up doesn't carry much fantasy significance.

    From RotoBaller

Tylor Megill Mon Sep 8 11:30pm CT

New York Mets starting pitcher Tylor Megill (elbow) experienced right elbow tightness while throwing breaking balls during a rehab outing on Sunday with Triple-A Syracuse, per MLB.com's Anthony DiComo. The 30-year-old was placed on the injured list on June 17 with the same injury, and he will now go back to New York to receive an MRI. This is unfortunate news for the Mets and fantasy managers, as it will leave little time for him to return, even if his results are clean. Megill went 5-5 with a 3.95 ERA, a 1.36 WHIP, and a 29.2% strikeout rate in 14 starts and 68 1/3 innings pitched before getting injured.

    From RotoBaller

Andres Munoz Mon Sep 8 11:20pm CT

Seattle Mariners closer Andres Munoz continued his strong season in Monday's 4-2 win over the Cardinals, picking up his 33rd save of the season. Munoz entered the game to pitch the top of the ninth inning up by two. He got the first out on a fly-out, allowed a walk, and got the final two outs on strikeouts. The 26-year-old has been given the chance to shine as the team's primary closer this season, converting 33 of 40 save opportunities with a 1.66 ERA, a 1.05 WHIP, and an 11.6 K/9 rate in 54 1/3 innings of work. He now has the third-most saves in baseball and should continue to be a top fantasy option for the rest of the season.

    From RotoBaller

Slade Cecconi Mon Sep 8 11:10pm CT

Cleveland Guardians starting pitcher Slade Cecconi had a fabulous start in Monday's 10-2 win over the Royals. Cecconi pitched eight scoreless innings, allowing one hit and three walks with three strikeouts. The 26-year-old gave up a leadoff single in the eighth inning to end his no-hit bid, but he induced a groundball double-play and got the final out of the inning on another grounder. Cecconi has had an up-and-down season from a fantasy perspective, going 6-6 with a 4.45 ERA, a 1.25 WHIP, and a 7.34 K/9 rate in 20 starts and 115 1/3 IP. He should have another opportunity for a solid outing in his next matchup against the White Sox.

    From RotoBaller

Max Muncy Mon Sep 8 8:50pm CT

Los Angeles Dodgers third baseman Max Muncy (oblique) returned to the lineup Monday, batting cleanup against the Colorado Rockies. His presence comes at a crucial time, as the Dodgers have dropped seven of their last 10 contests and are searching for an offensive spark. Despite being limited to just 89 games this season, Muncy has remained productive, slashing .258/.389/.491 with 17 home runs while continuing to provide valuable left-handed power. He'll slot between Freddie Freeman and Teoscar Hernndez in the heart of the order, giving Los Angeles a much-needed boost as they look to get back on track. If healthy, Muncy's return should immediately strengthen the lineup and restore balance to the Dodgers' offensive attack.

    From RotoBaller

Aaron Nola Mon Sep 8 8:40pm CT

Philadelphia Phillies right-hander Aaron Nola (4-8) turned in one of his best outings of the season Monday, tossing six scoreless innings with seven strikeouts in a 1-0 win over the New York Mets. Nola has endured a difficult 2025 campaign, carrying a 6.24 ERA, but this marked his fifth quality start of the year and a reminder of the veteran's ability to dominate when locked in. Despite his struggles, he effectively located his fastball and kept New York's lineup off balance, earning a much-needed boost of confidence. Nola will try to build on this performance when he takes the mound Sunday against the Kansas City Royals, a matchup that could help determine whether he can find some late-season consistency.

    From RotoBaller

Gabriel Arias Mon Sep 8 8:30pm CT

Cleveland Guardians infielder Gabriel Arias was removed from Monday's game after suffering an apparent injury during a fourth-inning strikeout. Manager Stephen Vogt came out to check on him and allowed Arias to remain in the game for the fifth inning, but he was later replaced by Angel Martinez, with Brayan Rocchio shifting to shortstop. The team has not yet disclosed the specifics of the injury, and Arias should be considered day-to-day until more information is available. The 25-year-old has played a steady role in Cleveland's infield this season, slashing .222/.280/.363 with 10 home runs, and his availability moving forward will be key for the Guardians' lineup flexibility.

    From RotoBaller

Jo Adell Mon Sep 8 8:10pm CT

The Los Angeles Angels scratched outfielder Jo Adell (illness) from Monday's lineup against the Minnesota Twins after he began experiencing vertigo symptoms. Adell has been in the midst of a breakout season, slashing .243/.303/.507 with 35 home runs while emerging as a key power threat in the middle of the order. His absence leaves the Angels without one of their most productive bats, and rookie Matthew Lugo will take his place in right field while batting seventh. Lugo has struggled in limited action, hitting just .213/.226/.475 over 27 games, offering minimal fantasy upside against Simeon Woods-Richardson tonight.

    From RotoBaller

Byron Buxton Mon Sep 8 6:10pm CT

Minnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton (knee) is out of the starting lineup ahead of Monday's game against the Los Angeles Angels. This doesn't come as a surprise after Buxton was forced to exit Sunday's contest due to a knee contusion. It wouldn't be shocking to see Buxton take a few days off to recover. This doesn't sound like the type of issue that will land Buxton on the shelf. Austin Martin, James Outman, and Matt Wallner will cover the outfield for Monday's contest. Fantasy managers should check back on Tuesday for another update on Buxton's status.

    From RotoBaller

Chase Burns Mon Sep 8 6:00pm CT

Cincinnati Reds starting pitcher Chase Burns (elbow) is expected to be activated off the 15-day injured list ahead of Friday's game against the Athletics. Burns has been sidelined since early August due to a Grade 1 right elbow strain. He resumed throwing in mid-August and progressed to facing live hitters earlier this month. It appears he's going to skip a rehab assignment and take the ball against the A's later this week. Burns holds a rough 5.24 ERA and 1.34 WHIP across 34.1 innings this season. However, Burns also has 57 strikeouts during that time and is one of the more intriguing young arms in the game. It's unclear if he's going to start or come out of the bullpen down the stretch of the season.

    From RotoBaller

Tyler Glasnow Mon Sep 8 5:50pm CT

Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow (back) has been cleared to take the mound against the Colorado Rockies on Monday. Glasnow was scratched from his scheduled start on Friday due to back stiffness. He underwent imaging that didn't reveal any significant damage. Glasnow took a few days off to rest and is now ready to take the mound again. The right-hander will have a plus-matchup against the lackluster Rockies lineup on Monday. Glasnow holds a strong 2.54 ERA across nine starts at home this season. Fantasy managers should double check their lineups and make sure Glasnow is active ahead of Monday's contest.

    From RotoBaller

    Logan O'Hoppe Mon Sep 8 5:40pm CT

Los Angeles Angels catcher Logan O'Hoppe (concussion) will miss some additional time after exiting early during Sunday's contest. O'Hoppe will head to the 7-day concussion list after getting hit in the head by a backswing by Jacob Wilson. He'll now head to the shelf and be sidelined until at least September 16. The absence of O'Hoppe will mean Sebastian Rivero and Travis d'Arnaud will split up the catching in Los Angeles. Rivero will get the first crack behind the plate during Monday's contest against the Minnesota Twins.

    From RotoBaller

Jo Adell Mon Sep 8 5:30pm CT

Los Angeles Angels outfielder Jo Adell (illness) is back in the starting lineup ahead of Monday's game against the Minnesota Twins. Adell was forced to make an early exit from Sunday's game after experiencing nausea. Luckily, Adell is feeling better on Monday and is back in the starting lineup without missing a game. He'll bat fifth and cover right field during Monday's contest. Adell has been on fire at the plate lately with 11 hits, five home runs, and 12 RBI over the last seven games. The 26-year-old has been too hot at the plate to leave on the waiver wire right now.

    From RotoBaller

Christian Yelich Mon Sep 8 5:20pm CT

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich (back) is back in the starting lineup ahead of Monday's game against the Texas Rangers. Yelich is back in the mix after sitting out the last five games due to back soreness. He was able to take some swings over the weekend and is now feeling good enough to play again. However, Yelich isn't quite ready to get back into the outfield. He'll serve as the designated hitter and bat cleanup versus left-hander Jacob Latz on Monday. Fantasy managers should adjust their lineups accordingly.

    From RotoBaller

Rhys Hoskins Mon Sep 8 5:20pm CT

Milwaukee Brewers first baseman Rhys Hoskins (thumb) is on the verge of returning from the 10-day injured list. Hoskins has joined the team for their road trip against the Texas Rangers on Monday. The right-handed slugger has a locker and is expected to be activated off the shelf ahead of Tuesday's contest. Hoskins has been sidelined since early July due to a left thumb sprain. His return will likely mean less playing time for Andrew Vaughn. At the moment, Hoskins is only worth rostering in deep leagues. Fantasy managers should check back on Tuesday for another update.

    From RotoBaller

Ryan Weathers Mon Sep 8 5:00pm CT

Miami Marlins left-hander Ryan Weathers (lat) is scheduled to come off the 60-day injured list and start on Thursday against the division-rival Washington Nationals, according to MLB.com's Christina De Nicola. Weathers has been cleared to rejoin the club's big-league starting rotation after making several minor-league rehab starts and getting through a live bullpen session on Monday. The 25-year-old southpaw only made it up to 68 pitches in his final rehab start and has been on the shelf since June 9 with a strained left lat, so fantasy managers should be tempering expectations for Weathers' first start back despite the juicy matchup against the Nats. The former first-rounder of the San Diego Padres has only made five starts in 2025, but he did have 80 K's with a 3.63 ERA in 16 starts over 86 2/3 innings in his first year in Miami in 2024.

    From RotoBaller

Alec Burleson Mon Sep 8 4:40pm CT

The St. Louis Cardinals announced on Monday that they activated first baseman/outfielder Alec Burleson (wrist) from the 10-day injured list and designated infielder/outfielder Garrett Hampon for assignment in a corresponding move. The Cardinals have yet to release their starting lineup for Monday's series opener in Seattle against the Mariners, but Burleson should be in it. Burleson is back in 10 days after recovering from right-wrist inflammation and should return to a regular role all over the diamond for the Red Birds in the final month of the regular season. The 26-year-old left-handed hitter has been one of the more consistent bats for the Cards this year, and he'll be returning to a .286/.337/.451 slash line with a .788 OPS, 16 home runs, 60 RBI, 47 runs and five steals in 122 games. Burleson is six homers from setting a new career high.
