Texas Rangers shortstop Josh Smith had a big day in his team's 16-3 win over the Minnesota Twins on Thursday. Smith went 2-for-5 with a homer, a walk, three runs, and one RBI in the lopsided victory. The veteran infielder kicked off the scoring in the game with a leadoff homer off Twins starter Bailey Ober. Smith is now hitting .279 with six homers, 26 runs, 19 RBI, and eight stolen bases across 208 at-bats for the Rangers this season. He has been hot over the past week, batting .393 with a homer and three RBI in his past seven contests. Smith has settled in as a solid, if unspectacular, fantasy option in most leagues.

Chicago Cubs outfield prospect Owen Caissie went deep in his third-straight game during the first game of a doubleheader on Thursday against Triple-A Louisville. In this contest, Caissie went 2-for-3 with a home run and a stolen base. However, in the second game, he saw his impressive power streak come to an end as he went 1-for-3 with a double. Over his last 18 games, the No. 3-ranked prospect in the Cubs' system has been swinging a hot bat, holding a stellar .328/.416/.582 slash line with eight doubles, three home runs, 11 RBI, and two stolen bases. Through 54 total games, Caissie has posted a .262/.366/.510 line with 16 doubles and 10 long balls. Given his steady progression at Triple-A, Caissie should be in the mix to reach the majors this season. However, given the depth in the Chicago outfield, he will likely need to wait for an injury.

Chicago White Sox third baseman Miguel Vargas had a big day in his team's 4-3 loss to the Houston Astros on Thursday. Vargas went 3-for-4 with two doubles, a triple, a walk, and two runs scored in the one-run loss. The veteran has been a productive bat for the Sox this season, hitting .242 with 17 doubles, one triple, nine homers, 32 runs, 30 RBI, and two stolen bases across 240 at-bats. After hitting under .200 in each of his previous three seasons, this season's modest breakout is a welcome sight for Vargas and fantasy gamers. He has worked his way into the conversation as a viable reserve corner infield option in most fantasy leagues.
From RotoBaller
Colorado Rockies second baseman Thairo Estrada was a key part of his team's 8-7 win over the San Francisco Giants on Thursday. Estrada went 3-for-5 with two doubles, one run, and two RBI to help down the Giants in the contest. The veteran infielder ripped a two-run double to cut the Giants' lead to 7-5 in the seventh inning. He later came around to score the game-tying run following his second double of the evening. Estrada is now hitting .261 with five doubles, four runs, and seven RBI across 46 at-bats this season. With two seasons of 21 or more stolen bases under his belt, Estrada has some potential in fantasy if he can work his way into an everyday role with the Rockies.
From RotoBaller
Detroit Tigers infield prospect Kevin McGonigle went 4-for-5 with two doubles and a home run during their contest against High-A Lansing on Thursday evening. McGonigle has continued to swing a hot bat since moving up to High-A. Through 18 games with High-A West Michigan this season, the No. 2-ranked prospect in Detroit has posted a stellar .394/.488/.704 slash line with 13 doubles, three home runs, and a 12:13 K:BB. He began the season on the injured list and spent a six-game stint with Low-A during his rehab assignment, and hit a .235/.350/.352 line. Last summer, the No. 26-ranked prospect in baseball made his High-A debut but struggled during his first 14 games, posting a mere .214 AVG with a .725 OPS. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor McGonigle's progression as he will likely earn the call to Double-A in the coming weeks.
From RotoBaller
Colorado Rockies outfielder Mickey Moniak had a productive game in his team's 8-7 win over the San Francisco Giants on Thursday. Moniak went 2-for-3 with a solo homer and two runs scored to help down San Francisco in the comeback victory. The veteran outfielder was a key part of the comeback as he cut the Giants' lead to 7-3 with his solo homer in the sixth inning. Moniak is now batting .227 with seven homers, 21 runs, 18 RBI, and two stolen bases across 163 at-bats this season. He is on a modest hot streak, with a .278 average and two homers over his past seven contests.
From RotoBaller
Texas Rangers outfielder Sam Haggerty was not in the initial starting lineup but made his mark in a 16-3 win over the Minnesota Twins on Thursday. Haggerty hit a pinch-hit, three-run homer in his only at-bat in the lopsided win. The veteran pinch-hit for Marcus Semien and launched a three-run shot in the ninth inning, a blast that gave the Rangers their final runs of the game. Haggerty is now hitting .268 with two homers, 13 runs, nine RBI, and five stolen bases across 71 at-bats for the Rangers this season. As a part-time player, Haggerty isn't on the radar in fantasy leagues.
From RotoBaller
Houston Astros outfielder Jose Altuve turned in a productive game in his team's 4-3 win over the Chicago White Sox on Thursday. Altuve went 2-for-3 with two doubles, a walk, a run, two RBI, and a stolen base in the one-run win. The veteran notched one of the key at-bats of the game when he gave Houston a 2-1 lead with a two-run double in the third inning. Altuve is now hitting .275 with nine doubles, nine homers, 32 runs, 27 RBI, and six stolen bases across 255 at-bats for the Astros this season. He has fallen off since his prime and is more of a reserve option in deeper fantasy leagues these days.
From RotoBaller
San Francisco Giants first base prospect Bryce Eldridge went 1-for-4 with a home run during their contest against Triple-A Tacoma on Thursday evening. This was Eldridge's second home run since moving up to Triple-A. Through his first eight games with Sacramento this season, Eldridge has struggled, holding a .138/.235/.345 line with a 12:4 K:BB. He received a brief taste of Triple-A last season as well, and posted a .258/.343/.258 line across eight contests. At the start of the season, Eldridge was with Double-A and looked quite comfortable as he held a .280/.350/.512 line with eight doubles, seven home runs, and a 39:13 K:BB. If the top-ranked prospect in the San Francisco system can build off this outing, he could be in the mix to reach the majors early in the second half.
From RotoBaller
Baltimore Orioles outfielder Dylan Carlson was one of the lone bright spots in his team's 4-1 loss to the Detroit Tigers on Thursday. Carlson went 3-for-3 with a solo homer to provide Baltimore's only run in the loss. He ruined the Tigers' shutout with a solo blast in the eighth inning, a shot that traveled 408 feet with an exit velocity of 103.8 MPH. Carlson is now hitting .247 with four homers, seven runs, 12 RBI, and one steal across 73 at-bats this season. He has been swinging a hot bat since a quiet start to the season, hitting .333 with four homers and 10 RBI over his past 15 games, spanning 51 at-bats. He's worth a look as an add in deeper leagues while he's hot at the plate.
From RotoBaller
Chicago Cubs right-hander Ryan Pressly picked up a save in his team's 3-2 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Thursday. Pressly tossed a scoreless ninth inning without allowing a baserunner on the way to earning his fifth save in as many chances for the Cubs. It was the 36-year-old's first save since April as the Cubs have turned to Daniel Palencia, who pitched the eighth, as their preferred closer. Pressly now has a 2-2 record, 3.81 ERA, 1.54 WHIP, and 16 strikeouts over 26 innings of work this season. It is likely that the Cubs were just playing the matchups with Pressly and Palencia flipping roles on Thursday. Look for Pressly to return to his setup role moving forward.
From RotoBaller
San Francisco Giants first baseman Dominic Smith had a big night in his team's 8-7 loss to the Colorado Rockies on Thursday. Smith went 3-for-4 with a homer, a walk, two runs, and three RBI but it wasn't quite enough in the one-run loss. The veteran launched a three-run homer in the fifth inning to push the Giants' lead to 7-2. Smith signed with the Giants in early June after the New York Yankees released him. He has appeared in eight games, hitting .320 with one homer, three runs, seven RBI, and one stolen base. He will look to stay hot as he gets more at-bats under his belt this season.

Milwaukee Brewers manager Pat Murphy said that outfielder Blake Perkins (shin) is scheduled to report to Triple-A Nashville on June 25 to start his minor-league rehab assignment. Perkins has had a slow go of it during his rehab from a fractured right shin that has kept him out for the entire 2025 season. The 28-year-old is getting close to playing in games again, but that doesn't mean that he'll be ready to rejoin the major-league roster before the All-Star break in mid-July. Perkins, a switch-hitter, was originally a second-round pick by the Washington Nationals in 2015. He made his big-league debut in 2023 with Milwaukee and has hit .234 (123-for-526) with 10 home runs, 63 RBI, 82 runs and 28 stolen bases in 188 games in his two big-league seasons. Given Milwaukee's crowded outfield, the defense-first Perkins figure to be a bench bat with plenty of speed to spare when he comes off the injured list.
From RotoBaller
Milwaukee Brewers left-handed pitching prospect Robert Gasser (elbow) is scheduled to face hitters in a live batting practice session in Arizona this week. Gasser, the team's No. 11 prospect per MLB Pipeline, will be facing hitters for the first time this week since having Tommy John surgery last June. The 26-year-old southpaw will be brought along slowly before eventually going on what will be a lengthy minor-league rehab assignment. Even if Gasser doesn't have any setbacks along the way, he probably won't be able to return to the big-league starting rotation until later in the season. He went 2-0 with a 2.57 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 16:1 K:BB in his first five major-league starts last year before getting hurt. For fantasy purposes, he won't really be a valuable contributor until next season, when he should have a great shot to win a rotation spot out of spring training as long as he's healthy.
From RotoBaller
Colorado Rockies second base prospect Adael Amador went 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBI in Thursday's 9-8 win over Triple-A Oklahoma City. Amador has been highly productive all season, hitting .306/.394/.482 with four homers and four steals in 99 plate appearances. The 22-year-old was promoted to the majors on April 13 and spent 33 games with the club. He struggled a bit, as he produced just a .465 OPS. Amador has strong contact skills and speed with some pop and should be expected to return to the majors shortly. He'd make for a solid add for managers in need of some stolen bases.
From RotoBaller
Updating a previous report, Milwaukee Brewers right-handed pitching prospect Jacob Misiorowski (calf, quadriceps) was pulled from his major-league debut on Thursday night against the division-rival St. Louis Cardinals with cramping in his right calf and quadriceps, according to the team. Despite the cramping issues, Misiorowski dazzled in his debut, throwing five shutout and no-hit innings with four walks and five strikeouts to pick up his first MLB win. The 23-year-old is the club's No. 4 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, and should be able to make his next scheduled start for the Brew Crew. If he isn't already rostered in your league, it's time to scoop him up off the waiver wire. The 6-foot-7, 197-pounder is easily one of the best pitching prospects in the game, with his fastball, curveball and slider all capable of generating plenty of swings and misses.
From RotoBaller
Chicago Cubs outfielder Seiya Suzuki cracked one of the club's two home runs in a 3-2 victory against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Thursday. Suzuki went deep against left-hander Andrew Heaney in the bottom of the sixth inning for his 17th HR and 57th RBI of the season. He finished the evening 1-for-3 and is now slashing a strong .266/.325/.548 in 289 plate appearances. Suzuki averaged 20 homers and 73 RBI over the previous two seasons, but he's on pace to surpass those numbers with ease in 2025. The 30-year-old will face a difficult test Friday against Pirates star righty Paul Skenes. Suzuki is 3-for-11 with a homer, four strikeouts, and a walk against the ace.
From RotoBaller
Baltimore Orioles catcher prospect Samuel Basallo went 2-for-4 with a solo home run on Thursday against Triple-A Nashville. Basallo has gone ballistic in June, smashing five homers in seven games. He is hitting .333/.438/.889 in 32 plate appearances. The 20-year-old has an incredible combination of raw power and contact ability, and he's also improved his walk rate significantly this season. The top prospect leads Triple-A in barrel rate at 22.9 percent and doesn't have too much left to prove in the minors. With the Orioles' lineup getting healthier, Basallo may not be up in the near term, but maybe around the trade deadline is a fair target time. He would be a priority add in virtually all formats.
From RotoBaller
Washington Nationals third base prospect Brady House went 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Thursday's 6-4 loss against Triple-A Jacksonville. The 22-year-old has been on fire so far in June with a 1.026 OPS and three home runs. It is worth noting, however, that he has yet to take a walk in June and is still striking out over 30 percent of the time. The slugger has held strong quality of contact metrics with a 46.6 percent hard-hit rate and 10.3 percent barrel rate, and should be receiving a promotion to the majors at some point this summer. He is ranked as the number 91 overall prospect on MLB.com and would be worthy of a speculative add in most formats.
From RotoBaller
Chicago Cubs outfielder Pete Crow-Armstrong homered Thursday to help the club to a 3-2 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates. Crow-Armstrong snapped a scoreless tie in the bottom of the fourth with a two-run jack off left-hander Andrew Heaney. The breakout star finished the night 1-for-3 and upped his line to .271/.305/.554 with 18 homers, 51 RBI, and 21 steals in 288 plate appearances. Crow-Armstrong has had the overwhelming majority of his success versus right-handed pitchers, so it was encouraging to see him pick up his fourth round-tripper of the year against a southpaw. He'll face an ace righty, the Pirates' Paul Skenes, on Friday. Crow-Armstrong has gone 2-for-8 with an RBI and two strikeouts in their matchups.
