Tanner Scott Sun Jul 13 10:50pm CT

Los Angeles Dodgers closer Tanner Scott recorded his major league-worst seventh blown save in a 5-2 win over the San Francisco Giants on Sunday. Leading 2-0, the Dodgers called on Scott to put away the Giants in the bottom of the ninth inning. The left-hander retired Willy Adames to lead off the frame, but Matt Chapman reached on a single and Luis Matos tied the game with a 424-foot home run. Scott got out of the inning without surrendering any more runs, and the Dodgers overcame his poor performance to win in 11 innings. They'll go into the second half of the season in first place in the NL West, though there may be some concerns regarding Scott. After yielding just three homers in 72 innings last season, Scott has already coughed up eight in 44 frames this year. Thanks largely to his problems keeping the ball in the yard, Scott's ERA has surged from 1.75 in 2024 to 4.09 in 2025. He still boasts a 1.14 WHIP with 49 strikeouts against eight walks, but it hasn't led to the top-tier run prevention that the Dodgers or fantasy managers expected.

Ceddanne Rafaela Sun Jul 13 10:40pm CT

Boston Red Sox infielder/outfielder Ceddanne Rafaela continued his July power surge in a 4-1 win over the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday. Rafaela finished 1-for-3 with a two-run shot off Rays starter Ryan Pepiot, giving him five dingers in 11 games this month. The 24-year-old has gone 16-for-41 (.390) with six doubles, 15 RBI, and 10 runs in July, and his hot hitting goes back several weeks. Rafaela owned an uninspiring .647 OPS entering June, but that number has skyrocketed by 150 points in the past month and a half. He'll head into the second part of the season slashing .271/.314/.483 with 14 homers, 48 RBI, 55 runs, 13 steals, and an above-average 19.4% strikeout rate in 341 plate appearances. He's already just one HR away from tying the career-high 15 he hit last year in 152 games. With Rafaela ranking in the top 20% of hitters in xSLG and barrel rate, his spike in power looks legitimate.

Blake Perkins Sun Jul 13 10:30pm CT

The Milwaukee Brewers have reinstated outfielder Blake Perkins (shin/groin) from the 60-day injured list and optioned him to Triple-A Nashville, per a team announcement. The Brewers made room for him on their 40-man roster by designating outfielder Drew Avans for assignment. Perkins has yet to play in the majors this year as a result of multiple injuries. He fouled a ball off his right shin and suffered a fracture in February, and then he dealt with a small setback in his rehab this month because of a groin issue. While the 28-year-old will remain in the minors for now, he could return to Milwaukee soon if starting outfielder Sal Frelick (hamstring) requires a stint on the 10-day IL. There's uncertainty surrounding Frelick after he left the Brewers' 8-1 win over the Washington Nationals on Sunday with hamstring discomfort. The defensively adept Perkins was a regular for the Brewers last year and would make for a logical Frelick replacement. Perkins accumulated 434 plate appearances in 2024 and batted .240/.316/.332 with six homers, 43 RBI, 54 runs scored, and 23 stolen bases.

Aroldis Chapman Sun Jul 13 10:20pm CT

Boston Red Sox closer Aroldis Chapman put an exclamation point on a great first half of the season in a 4-1 win over the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday. Chapman struck out the side in a perfect ninth inning to slam the door on Tampa Bay and record his 17th save of 2025. Now an eight-time All-Star, the 37-year-old has put up elite numbers across the board. Chapman owns a 1.18 ERA with a 0.76 WHIP and 55 strikeouts against 10 walks in 38 innings. The lights-out lefty has just one blown save, which came back on May 27.

Sean Manaea Sun Jul 13 10:10pm CT

New York Mets left-hander Sean Manaea (0-1) made his season debut and took the loss in a 3-2 decision against the Kansas City Royals on Sunday. The Mets activated Manaea on Sunday after he sat out the first three-plus months of the season with oblique and elbow injuries. Despite the outcome, Manaea pitched well in his return. The 33-year-old came on in relief in the sixth and wound up throwing 3 1/3 innings of one-run ball with seven strikeouts on 65 pitches (44 strikes). While Manaea didn't hand out any free passes, he did scatter five hits, including Nick Loftin's walk-off single in the ninth. Looking ahead to the second half of the season, Manaea will be a welcome addition to the Mets' rotation. In 2024, his first year as a Met, he went 12-6 with a 3.47 ERA, a 1.08 WHIP, and 184:63 K:BB across a career-high 181 2/3 frames.

Carlos Estevez Sun Jul 13 9:10pm CT

Kansas City Royals relief pitcher Carlos Estevez blew a two-run lead in the ninth inning for his fifth blown save of the season on Sunday, but ended up picking up his fourth win thanks to a walk-off single by Nick Loftin in the bottom of the inning. He allowed a double and a triple to start the frame, before eventually letting in the tying run on a sacrifice fly. This was the 32-year-old's second blown save in a row, as he came into Friday's game in a bases-loaded jam in the eighth and gave up a bases-clearing double. Still, he'll carry a 2.36 ERA into the All-Star break and doesn't look to be in danger of losing his job.

Eury Perez Sun Jul 13 9:00pm CT

Miami Marlins starting pitcher Eury Perez was dominant on Sunday in an 11-1 win against the Orioles, striking out six over seven scoreless frames. He allowed three hits and didn't walk a single batter. The youngster had a rocky first four starts in his return to the mound for the first time since 2023, but has seemingly figured things out over his past three outings. During that span, the 22-year-old has allowed one earned run on six hits and one walk while striking out 21 over 18 innings. This is the potential many saw in him as he rose through the minor leagues as one of the most highly-regarded prospects in baseball. He'll carry a 3.18 ERA into the All-Star break, and he could very well be a must-start pitcher for fantasy the rest of the way.

Cristopher Sanchez Sun Jul 13 8:50pm CT

Philadelphia Phillies starting pitcher Cristopher Sanchez allowed one run on six hits and three walks with six strikeouts in 7 innings in a 2-1 victory against the Padres. This was his eighth win of the season, bringing his record to 8-2. The 28-year-old has been one of the most reliable pitchers in baseball, as this was his eighth straight quality start. The lefty heads into the break with a 2.50 ERA and 1.14 WHIP with 122 strikeouts through 115 innings pitched. He's been regarded as one of the biggest All-Star snubs, and the Phillies recently activated his bonus All-Star clause in his contract to reward him, despite not officially making the team.

    From RotoBaller

Matt Strahm Sun Jul 13 8:40pm CT

Philadelphia Phillies relief pitcher Matt Strahm recorded his sixth save of the season in a 2-1 win over the Padres on Sunday. He allowed two walks, but didn't give up any hits and ultimately left the inning unscathed. Orion Kerkering came in for Cristopher Sanchez in the eighth inning, getting the last two outs of the frame without allowing any runs. This was Strahm's first save since June 29, but that was mainly due to a lack of opportunity. Both Kerkering and Jordan Romano have gone even longer without a save, so it looks like Strahm is holding the top spot in that bullpen for now. The 33-year-old posted a 3.29 ERA with 44 strikeouts and 12 walks in 38 innings in the first half.

    From RotoBaller

Jacob Misiorowski Sun Jul 13 8:30pm CT

Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Jacob Misiorowski is drawing interest from his club to negotiate a contract extension, reports Francys Romero. The Brewers reportedly made an offer earlier in the season, but they are still far apart from what Misiorowski is looking for. It's no surprise that Milwaukee is looking to extend the youngster, as he's coming off a 12-strikeout performance against one of the best offenses in the league. Despite only making five career starts, the 23-year-old was recently named to the NL All-Star team. He's posted a 2.81 ERA and 0.90 WHIP with 33 strikeouts in 25 innings and could be the ace of the staff for a very long time.

    From RotoBaller

Luis Robert Sun Jul 13 8:20pm CT

Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. has been checked on by eight teams recently regarding potential trades, reports Jon Heyman of The New York Post. Some teams that look like potential fits are the Phillies, Dodgers, Padres, Royals, and Mets. While Robert was once considered to be one of the next young superstars, his career has turned into more of an injury-plagued disappointment since. This season, he is slashing just .190/.275/.325 with nine home runs and 22 stolen bases in 79 games. It's possible that the potential suitors for the 27-year-old think they can fix him, especially if his price on the trade market comes at a discount.

    From RotoBaller

Emilio Pagan Sun Jul 13 6:00pm CT

Cincinnati Reds reliever Emilio Pagan notched his 20th save of the season on Sunday, working a perfect ninth inning with a strikeout in his team's 4-2 win over the Colorado Rockies. The 34-year-old is enjoying a resurgent season, as he's gone 20/23 in save opportunities while recording 2.93 ERA, 0.88 WHIP, and 50 strikeouts in 40 innings pitched. Pagan still allows far too many home runs (1.62 HR/9), but he limits base runners (.157 batting average against). He last received regular work as a closer back in 2019 with the Tampa Bay Rays, but he's earned a decent runway to remain the Reds' top save option the rest of the way.

    From RotoBaller

Daniel Palencia Sun Jul 13 6:00pm CT

Chicago Cubs reliever Daniel Palencia recorded his 12th save of the season on Sunday, working a perfect inning with a strikeout in his team's 4-1 win over the New York Yankees. The 25-year-old earned his first save for the Cubs on May 21 and hasn't looked back, converting 12/13 save chances. In 34 1/3 innings, he's pitched to a 1.57 ERA and 0.88 WHIP with 39 strikeouts. Palencia's 2.73 xERA entering play on Sunday points to likely second-half regression, but even still he's a valuable piece of the Cubs bullpen. Palencia appears locked into the team's closer role for now, but that could change if the Cubs make a notable bullpen addition or two at the trade deadline.

    From RotoBaller

Kyle Stowers Sun Jul 13 5:50pm CT

Miami Marlins outfielder Kyle Stowers had a huge day in his team's 11-1 victory over the Baltimore Orioles. The 27-year-old lefty-swinger went five-for-five with three home runs, an additional run scored, and six RBI. Stowers becomes the second player in MLB history to record a three-homer game against a former team after New York Yankees outfielder Cody Bellinger did it against the Chicago Cubs on Friday night. The Marlins acquired Stowers from Baltimore as part of the return for left-hander Trevor Rodgers in July 2024. That deal looks like a fleecing for Miami, as Stowers has enjoyed a breakout 2025 season. In 346 plate appearances, he's slashing .293/.368/.543 with 19 home runs, 54 RBI, 46 runs scored, and four stolen bases. Stowers will suit up for the National League in the All-Star Game on Tuesday.

    Ha-Seong Kim Sun Jul 13 5:40pm CT

Tampa Bay Rays infielder Ha-Song Kim (foot) left his team's 4-1 loss to the Boston Red Sox on Sunday in the seventh inning after fouling a ball off his left foot. X-rays on Kim's foot were negative, according to Ryan Bass of FanDuel Sports Network Florida & Sun. This foot injury is the latest blow in what's been a frustrating season for Kim. The 29-year-old missed the first three months of 2025 due to recovery from a torn labrum that ended his 2024 season. He battled a calf injury almost immediately after his return on July 4 and will now deal with this foot ailment. Kim's hit .227 with a home run and a stolen base in the 22 plate appearances he's logged so far this year. In 470 plate appearances in 2024, Kim slashed .230/.330/.370 with 11 home runs, 47 RBI, 60 runs scored, and 22 stolen bases. The All-Star break will give him a chance to recover, potentially without missing any games.

    From RotoBaller

Luis Gil Sun Jul 13 5:30pm CT

New York Yankees starter Luis Gil (lat) was sharp in his first rehab outing as he works his way back from a lat injury that has prevented him from pitching in the big leagues so far in 2025. Gil got the start for Double-A Somerset and threw 3 1/3 innings, allowing two hits, a walk, and an earned run while striking out six. Gil was removed from the game after 50 pitches, so he'll likely need at least a few more rehab appearances before rejoining the Yankees. The 27-year-old flamethrower won the American League Rookie of the Year award in 2024, going 15-7 with a 3.50 ERA, 1.19 WHIP, and 171 strikeouts in 151 2/3 innings (29 starts). There's a clear spot for him in the Yankees' rotation now that fellow starter Clarke Schmidt has been lost for the year due to Tommy John surgery.

    From RotoBaller

Sal Frelick Sun Jul 13 5:10pm CT

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Sal Frelick (hamstring) left the game in the third inning of his team's 8-1 win over the Washington Nationals on Sunday. Frelick felt discomfort in his left hamstring, according to the team, and was replaced by Isaac Collins in right field. The 25-year-old Frelick is in the midst of his best big-league season, slashing .294/.354/.404 with seven home runs, 39 RBI, 46 runs scored, and 17 stolen bases. He doesn't make a ton of hard contact (26.9% hard-hit rate entering play on Sunday), but he's difficult to punch out (12.7% strikeout rate). Frelick will have the All-Star break to heal his hamstring, so he may be able to avoid missing games. His speed is a big part of his fantasy value, so nursing a bum hamstring could potentially impact his utility in the second half of the season.

    From RotoBaller

Yordan Alvarez Sun Jul 13 4:10pm CT

Astros outfielder Yordan Alvarez (hand) is set for re-evaluation Thursday as team doctors consider clearing him to start swinging a bat. Alvarez was placed on the injured list on May 6 with a right hand fracture. His return timeline remains undefined. The 28-year-old slugger was struggling before the injury in 29 games, slashing .210/.306/.340 with three home runs and a .646 OPS. Alvarez reports no pain in his hand and would be a welcome offensive boost for the banged-up Astros as they aim for a postseason run.

    From RotoBaller

Jake Meyers Sun Jul 13 4:00pm CT

Astros General Manager Dana Brown reported on the team's pregame radio show that outfielder Jake Meyers (calf) will miss more than three weeks because of his calf injury. Meyers was placed on the 10-day injured list on July 11 with a right calf strain after it tightened up before a July 9 game against the Guardians. The 29-year-old was enjoying a breakout season before the injury, slashing .308/.369/.405 with three home runs across 89 games. He is now targeting an August return and will aim to recapture his early-season form for a surging Astros team.

    From RotoBaller

Shane Bieber Sun Jul 13 3:40pm CT

Cleveland Guardians right-hander Shane Bieber (elbow) is scheduled to make his first rehab start Tuesday in the Arizona Complex League after suffering a setback in his Tommy John recovery last month. The 30-year-old is expected to throw around two innings or 35 pitches as he works toward an August return. Bieber made only two starts in 2024 before tearing the UCL in his right elbow, allowing no runs and striking out 20 batters across 12 innings. He has spent his entire career in Cleveland and could be a key addition to a pitching staff that ranks 18th in MLB with a 3.92 team ERA.
