Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Tony Gonsolin (elbow) has been placed on the 15-day injured list with discomfort in his pitching elbow, the team announced. It's an ominous-sounding injury for Gonsolin, who missed all of last season while recovering from Tommy John surgery. He returned this year to make seven starts and post a 3-2 record with a 5.00 ERA (5.22 xERA), 38 strikeouts, and 18 walks in 36 innings before landing back on the shelf. It's the latest setback for a Dodgers rotation that has been riddled with injuries. Before Gonsolin went down, they were already missing fellow starting options in Blake Snell, Roki Sasaki, Tyler Glasnow, and Gavin Stone, among others. The Dodgers still have Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Clayton Kershaw, Dustin May, and Justin Wrobleski in their rotation, but it's unclear who will take over for Gonsolin.

The Dodgers announced that they have activated right-handed relievers Kirby Yates (hamstring) and Michael Kopech (shoulder) from the injured list. In other moves, the team designated righty Chris Stratton for assignment and placed RHP Tony Gonsolin (elbow) on the 15-day IL with discomfort in his pitching elbow. Yates, whom the Dodgers signed to a one-year, $13 million contract in free agency, last pitched May 17. He was charged with a loss to the Los Angeles Angels in that game after yielding three earned runs in one-third of an inning. Overall, Yates has a 4.34 ERA (with a much more palatable 2.91 xERA) and 31:6 K:BB in 18 2/3 frames. The 38-year-old was a good source of holds before his injury, picking up eight, and may be a candidate for saves with lefty Tanner Scott off to a shaky start. Scott has blown five of his 16 save opportunities. Kopech, meanwhile, is finally in line to make his season debut after battling multiple injuries since the spring. He had forearm issues and then dealt with a shoulder impingement. The hard-throwing 29-year-old racked up 67 2/3 innings of 3.46 ERA ball with 88:34 K:BB between the White Sox and Dodgers last season.

Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout (knee) is progressing toward a return to right field, per Michael Huntley of the Orange County Register. After successfully taking outfield drills Friday, Trout will do so again Saturday, according to manager Ron Washington. The 33-year-old missed almost all of May with a bone bruise in his left knee. Since returning May 30, he has been the Angels' designated hitter, leaving Jorge Soler to handle right. Ideally, the Angels would rather deploy the defensively questionable Soler at DH. Trout has gone 10-of-25 since coming off the injured list, raising his line to .221/.302/.481 with 10 homers and 23 RBI in 149 trips to the plate. Trout's .399 xwOBA suggests he has deserved far better than his bottom-line production thus far. He'll face Seattle Mariners right-hander Luis Castillo on Saturday. Trout is 2-for-8 with an HR, four strikeouts, and a walk against Castillo.

San Francisco Giants outfielder Jung Hoo Lee is not in the lineup for their meeting with the Atlanta Braves on Saturday. Daniel Johnson will take over in center field for Lee and occupy the leadoff spot for the Giants against right-hander Bryce Elder. A consistent presence near the top of San Francisco's lineup, Lee has gotten off to a nice start in his second year in the majors. The former KBO star is hitting .277/.331/.438 with six home runs, 32 RBI, and six stolen bases in 63 games and 266 plate appearances. Assuming Lee isn't sitting Saturday for an injury-related reason, he figures to draw back into the lineup Sunday against righty Spencer Strider.

Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Oneil Cruz is not in the lineup Saturday as the Bucs continue a series against the Philadelphia Phillies. It's his first day off since May 19. Alexander Canario will shift from left to center to replace Cruz, while Tommy Pham will play left. Second baseman Nick Gonzales will slot into Cruz's leadoff spot in the lineup. The lefty-hitting Cruz has been highly productive with a .230/.353/.465 line, 12 homers, 28 RBI, and 22 stolen bases over 241 plate appearances, but he has done the vast majority of that damage against right-handers. The Phillies are starting a tough lefty, Ranger Suarez, on Saturday. Cruz has a paltry .532 OPS with one HR in 57 at-bats versus southpaws this season.

Cleveland Guardians first baseman/designated hitter Carlos Santana is out of the lineup for their game against the Houston Astros on Saturday. Cleveland will start Kyle Manzardo at first, while Jose Ramirez will shift from third base to DH, and Will Wilson will man the hot corner. The switch-hitting Santana had a sizzling May, but he has cooled down in June, going 4-for-19 with one RBI in five games. Overall, though, this has been another productive season for the 39-year-old. He's slashing .256/.358/.389 with seven home runs and 29 RBI in 240 plate appearances. His Guardians teammates will have a tough assignment Saturday against emerging star right-hander Hunter Brown, owner of a microscopic 1.83 ERA in 73 2/3 innings.

San Francisco Giants right-handed pitcher Justin Verlander (pectoral) was able to complete a 35-4 pitch simulated game on Friday and is set to undergo further evaluation on Saturday. The 42-year-old was placed on the 15-day injured list on May 22 with a right pectoral strain and appears to be progressing well through his recovery. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status as he could be cleared to take the next steps in his process. The team has not decided whether he will need to complete a rehab assignment before returning. Before the injury, Verlander posted a modest 4.33 ERA with a 1.40 WHIP across 52 innings. He tallied only 41 strikeouts. Given his struggles through the early part of the season, he is only worth rostering in deeper formats for the time being.

St. Louis Cardinals right-handed pitching prospect Michael McGreevy is expected to be promoted from Triple-A Memphis to start Sunday's contest against the Los Angeles Dodgers. McGreevy was given a spot start earlier this season and performed well, logging 5 2/3 shutout innings against the New York Mets. In this outing, he struck out five batters and allowed just one hit and one walk. Last summer, McGreevy made his MLB debut and found success as well, posting a 1.96 ERA and a stellar 0.78 WHIP across 23 frames. During this stint, he struck out 18 batters. Through 339 1/3 career innings at the Triple-A level, McGreevy has posted a 4.00 ERA with a 1.36 WHIP. Even though he has found success in the big leagues, he is best to fade in DFS on Sunday while facing a potent Dodgers lineup.

Seattle Mariners right-handed pitcher George Kirby (jaw) is listed as Sunday's starter when the Mariners face the Los Angeles Angels. In his last start, Kirby was struck by a comebacker. However, the right-hander avoided a significant injury and is in line to make his next scheduled start. In his last start, Kirby logged five innings of two-run ball against the Orioles. He struck out three batters and allowed one walk and eight hits. Through 13 2/3 innings this season, Kirby has held a high 8.56 ERA with a 1.83 WHIP. Kirby dealt with right shoulder inflammation during the early part of the campaign and has struggled to find his footing early on. However, last summer, Kirby held a 3.53 ERA with an impressive 1.07 WHIP across 191 innings of work. He will be a strong play in DFS facing the Angels on Sunday.

Chicago White Sox catching prospect Kyle Teel will be batting fifth on Saturday when the White Sox continue a series against the Kansas City Royals. Teel will serve as the DH, which will allow Edgar Quero to enter the lineup and be behind the dish. Teel made his MLB debut on Friday evening and went 1-for-2 with two walks and a run. In this game, Teel was batting sixth. It is an excellent sign for his fantasy potential to see him already begin to move up the batting order. Earlier this season at Triple-A, the No. 28-ranked prospect posted a strong .295/.394/.492 slash line with 10 doubles, eight home runs, and a 54:30 K:BB. Given his high power upside and clear path to an everyday role in the starting nine, Teel is a viable waiver wire target in all standard leagues.

Minnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton is not in the team's starting lineup on Saturday against the visiting Toronto Blue Jays at Target Field. Harrison Bader will start in center field and will bat ninth versus Blue Jays right-hander Kevin Gausman. Although Bader has been a nice surprise offensively in his first year with the Twins in 2025, fantasy managers setting DFS lineups will probably want to avoid him in the nine-hole and for the fact he's hit just .091 with an RBI in 11 career at-bats against Gausman. Buxton could use a little breather after going hitless in nine at-bats with two strikeouts in his last three games. The 31-year-old former second overall pick is on pace for his first 20-homer, 20-stolen base season in his 12th year in the big leagues if he can stay healthy the rest of the way. That's a pretty big if, considering his lengthy injury history.

Minnesota Twins shortstop Carlos Correa (back) is starting at shortstop and batting third in Saturday's game against the visiting Toronto Blue Jays and right-hander Kevin Gausman. With Correa back after missing three straight games with back tightness, Brooks Lee will head back to the bench this weekend. Th 30-year-old Correa will return to face Gausman, who he has hit .267 against with an RBI in 15 career at-bats. He's mostly been a disappointment for fantasy managers in 2025 with a .241/.285/.380 slash line, a .665 OPS, only five home runs, 19 RBI and 23 runs scored in 187 at-bats. The good news is that the former first overall pick has an xBA of .270, indicating that he should experience positive regression going forward if he can stay healthy. Since May 26, Correa has gone 8-for-31 (.258) with two homers, three doubles and five RBI in eight games.

The Philadelphia Phillies announced on Saturday that they selected the contract of infielder/outfielder Otto Kemp from Triple-A Lehigh Valley and placed first baseman Bryce Harper (wrist) on the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move with right-wrist inflammation. Kemp, the team's No. 24 prospect per MLB Pipeline, gets his first major-league call-up after hitting an impressive .313/.416/.594 with 14 home runs, 55 RBI, 49 runs scored and 11 stolen bases in 58 games for Lehigh Valley. The 25-year-old has the ability to play third base, second base and the outfield, but he'll most likely have the best chance for playing time at the hot corner in Philly with Alec Bohm sliding over to first base with Harper sidelined. The Atlanta Braves announced on Saturday that they designated right-handed reliever Craig Kimbrel for assignment and recalled left-hander Austin Cox from the minors in a corresponding move. Well, that didn't last long. The Braves shook up their bullpen after a meltdown in Thursday's loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks and brought Kimbrel back to the big leagues. He made his first appearance with the Braves since the end of the 2014 regular season on Friday night and tossed a scoreless inning in the extra-inning loss to the San Francisco Giants. If Kimbrel passes through waivers, which is likely, he can either accept an outright assignment back to Triple-A Gwinnett or try to sign with another club as a free agent. The nine-time All-Star has 440 career saves in 15 big-league seasons, but his velocity has fallen considerably in recent years, and he's unlikely to get another extended high-leverage role.

The Philadelphia Phillies announced on Saturday that they placed first baseman Bryce Harper (wrist) on the 10-day injured list (retroactive to June 6) with right-wrist inflammation and recalled infielder/outfielder Otto Kemp from Triple-A Lehigh Valley in a corresponding move. Harper missed a week recently due to an elbow contusion and is now going to miss more time with a wrist injury after he sat out of Friday's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. The 32-year-old two-time MVP will be eligible to return on June 16, but it remains to be seen if that will actually happen. For now, fantasy managers must keep Harper stashed in an IL spot and hope he can return sooner than later. Hopefully his wrist injury doesn't affect his power at the plate when he does come back. The former first-rounder heads to the IL with a .258/.368/.446 slash line with nine home runs, 34 RBI, 32 runs and eight steals in 213 at-bats.

Detroit Tigers infielder/outfielder Matt Vierling (shoulder) received an injection in his ailing right shoulder on Thursday. The 28-year-old is expected to resume baseball activities this weekend. The fifth-year pro had already missed most of the season to this point with shoulder inflammation, returning for four games at the end of May before heading back to the shelf. The fact that he'll resume baseball activities this weekend is a good sign, though, so hopefully the injury doesn't continue to linger. The 6-foot-2 slugger is coming off a season in which he belted 16 home runs and scored 80 runs, plus he is eligible at both 3B and OF, so there is some fantasy intrigue with Vierling, but for now, he's probablybest left to the waiver wire.

Cleveland Guardians catcher Austin Hedges has been placed on the 7-day concussion IL. The veteran suffered the injury on Wednesday when he was struck in the helmet by Jazz Chisholm Jr.'s backswing. The 32-year-old backstop stayed in the game but experienced slight symptoms the following day that did not subside, and with a history of concussions, the team erred on the side of caution. Hedges is there for his leadership and defense more so than his offense, as the right-handed slugger owns a .229 wOBA and 43 wRC+ in 61 PA, so there is little fantasy relevance here, but hopefully he can make a quick recovery. Dom Nunez was called up from Triple-A and received the start on Friday, but look for primary catcher Bo Naylor to be back behind the plate on Saturday.

New York Yankees reliever Luke Weaver (hamstring) has received a PRP injection in his strained left hamstring. The 31-year-old is currently on the 15-day IL with the injury, but has also resumed his throwing program, so hopefully he's able to be on the short end of the original 4-6 week timeline that was provided. The righty had a phenomenal 2024 and has parlayed that success into 2025, posting a 1.05 ERA, 0.70 WHIP, and an 18.1 percent K-BB%, with eight saves through 25 2/3 IP (24 appearances). Devin Williams recorded the save for the Yankees on Friday, but did hit one batter in the appearance, and now has seven saves on the year. Weaver should continue to be stashed as he'll still hold value whether he's the official closer when he returns or not.
