Ronald Acuna Jr. Fri Jun 20 9:00pm CT

Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. said on Friday that he'd participate in the upcoming Home Run Derby if invited this year. The All-Star game will be held in Truist Park this year, so it's only fitting that Acuna gets involved. The league always wants to have a home team representative for the tournament. Acuna feels like the obvious choice given his superstar level status. The 27-year-old recently returned from an ACL injury and already has eight home runs in 24 games. Acuna has posted two 40-plus homer seasons already in his young career. He certainly appears to be a great option for the 2025 Home Run Derby.

Tyler Glasnow Fri Jun 20 9:00pm CT

Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow (shoulder) is set to make a rehab start with Triple-A Oklahoma City. Glasnow threw a 40-pitch live batting practice session earlier in the week. It appears that session went well enough that Glasnow will start making rehab starts. It sounds like the plan is for Glasnow to make three rehab starts before rejoining the Dodgers rotation. If everything goes well, Glasnow should be back in the mix following the All-Star break. Fantasy managers will need to check back for another update after his first rehab start.

Dennis Santana Fri Jun 20 8:50pm CT

Pittsburgh Pirates relief pitcher Dennis Santana has been suspended four games for his action during the second game of the doubleheader against the Detroit Tigers on Thursday. Santana gets slapped with this suspension for allegedly attempting to jump up and hit a fan above the bullpen wall. The suspension was supposed to start on Friday, but Santana has decided to appeal it. That being said, Santana will remain active out of the bullpen until the league makes their decision. Santana has been a stud out of the bullpen with a 1.72 ERA, 0.83 WHIP, and 25/5 K/BB ratio across 31.1 innings of work this season.

Robert Suarez Fri Jun 20 8:40pm CT

San Diego Padres relief pitcher Robert Suarez and the team's manager Mike Shildt have been suspended for their actions during Thursday's contest. The league has also suspended the Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts as well. Suarez gets slapped with a three-game suspension after almost certainly hitting slugger Shohei Ohtani on purpose. This happened after Padres' slugger Fernando Tatis Jr. was hit in the hand by a pitch earlier in the game. Suarez will appeal his suspension, but both managers will be suspended one game and cannot appeal it.

    Logan O'Hoppe Fri Jun 20 8:30pm CT

Los Angeles Angels catcher Logan O'Hoppe is absent from the starting lineup ahead of Friday's game against the Houston Astros. O'Hoppe will now head to the bench for the second straight game. It appears the Angels are giving O'Hoppe extra rest given his struggles at the plate. Over his last eight games, O'Hoppe is 3-for-31 at the plate, so it's not shocking to see him taking a seat here. At this point, O'Hoppe isn't someone that needs to be rostered in all fantasy formats right now. Travis d'Arnaud will cover behind the plate and bat fifth versus right-hander Hunter Brown on Friday.

Fernando Tatis Jr. Fri Jun 20 8:20pm CT

San Diego Padres outfielder Fernando Tatis Jr. (hand) is back in the starting lineup ahead of Friday's game against the Kansas City Royals. There was speculation that Tatis would miss time after getting hit in the hand by a pitch during Thursday's contest. Luckily, the X-rays came back negative and Tatis is back without missing a single game. He probably is still sore, but that's not going to keep Tatis out of the lineup. He'll bat in the leadoff spot and cover right field versus right-hander Michael Lorenzen on Friday.

Jake Burger Fri Jun 20 8:20pm CT

Texas Rangers corner infielder Jake Burger (side) was forced to make an early exit from Friday's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Burger appeared to grab his side after striking out in the seventh inning. He was pulled from the contest after that due to left side tightness. The expectation is that Burger will undergo further evaluation before the team gives more information on his status. For now, fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day until more info is revealed. Burger went 1-for-4 at the plate before being lifted for Ezequiel Duran. Possibly, Duran sees more time at first base if Burger is forced to miss time.

Jack Little Fri Jun 20 6:30pm CT

Los Angeles Dodgers right-handed pitching prospect Jack Little was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City earlier on Friday. This transaction opened a spot on the major league roster for right-handed pitcher Will Klein. Little made his MLB debut on Thursday against the Padres. He tossed two innings of relief. He allowed four hits and two earned runs and struck out just one batter. However, earlier this season, Little was very effective at Oklahoma City and could be in the mix for an early return to the majors. Through 32 2/3 innings of work, the Stanford prospect has held a strong 2.20 ERA with a 1.16 WHIP. During this stretch, the right-hander has struck out 33 batters and tallied 10 saves. If he were to return to Los Angeles, he would likely return in a middle relief role.

Gabriel Moreno Fri Jun 20 6:10pm CT

Arizona Diamondbacks catcher Gabriel Moreno (finger) has a hairline fracture in his right index finger, manager Torey Lovullo announced. Moreno went to the 10-day IL on Thursday (retroactive to June 16) with a hand contusion, but it turns out to be a more significant injury than the team realized. It's now all but guaranteed that he will not rejoin the Diamondbacks when he's first eligible to return on June 27. Moreno, who played through the injury over the past couple of weeks, has batted a respectable .270/.324/.414 with five home runs and 25 RBI in 188 trips to the plate. The Diamondbacks will have to rely on Jose Herrera and Aramis Garcia behind the plate until Moreno comes back.

    From RotoBaller

Wyatt Langford Fri Jun 20 6:00pm CT

Texas Rangers outfielder Wyatt Langford (back) is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Langford is day-to-day with back stiffness, manager Bruce Bochy announced. Sam Haggerty will take his place in left field and bat second against Pirates right-hander Mike Burrows. The 23-year-old Langford has hit a decent .240/.317/.439 with 13 home runs, 31 RBI, 32 runs, and 11 stolen bases in 278 plate appearances. If he stays healthy, he should at least surpass the 16 HRs and 19 steals he piled up as a rookie last year. The hope is that Langford will return to the Rangers' lineup Saturday, but it's a situation worth monitoring for fantasy managers.

Thomas Saggese Fri Jun 20 6:00pm CT

The St. Louis Cardinals have recalled infield prospect Thomas Saggese to the major leagues prior to their contest on Friday. In a corresponding move, the Cardinals placed catcher Ivan Herrera (hamstring) on the 10-day IL with a hamstring strain. Saggese is currently considered the No. 5 prospect in the system on MLB.com. The Cardinals drafted Saggese in the fifth round of the 2020 MLB Draft. The 23-year-old has appeared in 32 MLB games over the past two seasons and held a .267/.302/.400 slash line with six doubles, two home runs, and a 25:4 K:BB. However, through 42 games at Triple-A this season, Saggese has been quite productive, posting a .317/.402/.445 slash line with six doubles, five home runs, and five stolen bases. Fantasy managers should expect Saggese to have a role as a depth infielder, and he is not worth adding in any standard leagues.

Mark Vientos Fri Jun 20 5:50pm CT

New York Mets third baseman Mark Vientos (hamstring) will continue to rehab his injured right hamstring with Triple-A Syracuse this weekend, per Anthony DiComo of MLB.com. If he gets through Sunday unscathed, he could rejoin the Mets on Monday. The club has gone almost three weeks without Vientos, who landed on the 10-day IL on June 3 with a low-grade strain. Brett Baty and Ronny Mauricio have manned the hot corner in Vientos' absence. However, both Baty and Mauricio have posted horrific production this month. Vientos looked like a breakout slugger during a 27-homer campaign a year ago, but he endured struggles of his own before going on the shelf. The 25-year-old has hit an uninspiring .230/.298/.380 with six HRs and 21 RBI in 208 plate appearances this season.

Alan Roden Fri Jun 20 5:50pm CT

Toronto Blue Jays outfield prospect Alan Roden (knee) remains out of the starting nine on Friday evening when they begin a series against the Chicago White Sox. Roden was held out of action on Thursday due to inflammation in his right knee. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status as he may miss additional time over the weekend. Instead, the Blue Jays will give Nathan Lukes the starting nod in left field, which opens center field for Jonatan Clase and right field for Addison Barger. Through his first 39 games in the major leagues, Roden has posted a .202/.282/.281 slash line with four doubles and one round-tripper. The Blue Jays are a viable target in DFS this evening, facing Chicago White Sox right-hander Grant Taylor, who holds a 4.50 ERA.

    From RotoBaller

    Ha-Seong Kim Fri Jun 20 5:40pm CT

Tampa Bay Rays shortstop Ha-Seong Kim (hamstring, shoulder) will restart a Triple-A rehab assignment Friday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Kim was pulled off his rehab a week ago because of tightness in his right hamstring. Before that injury cropped up, the ex-San Diego Padre was working back from offseason surgery on his right shoulder. Barring any further setbacks, he's likely to rejoin the Rays sometime in the next couple of weeks. A .242/.326/.380 hitter over four seasons in the majors, Kim should receive plenty of playing time at shortstop when he comes back. The Rays have primary used Taylor Walls there, but he's batting an unimpressive .212/.298/.297 with two home runs in 192 plate appearances.

    From RotoBaller

Adrian Del Castillo Fri Jun 20 5:40pm CT

The Arizona Diamondbacks placed catching prospect Adrian Del Castillo (back) on the 7-day injured list due to lower back discomfort. Jack Sommers of Sports Illustrated noted that the injury is not expected to be serious and the team is hoping he is only sidelined for a short period. Del Castillo has already had a stint on the injured list earlier this season due to a shoulder injury. However, when on the field, Del Castillo has been quite productive, posting a .305/.442/.678 slash line with three doubles and five home runs. Through five games with Triple-A Reno, Del Castillo posted a .294 AVG. The young catcher made his MLB debut last season and performed quite well, holding a .313/.368/.525 line with four round-trippers. If Del Castillo can overcome this injury, he will likely be in the mix to return to Arizona in the second half.

Jorge Soler Fri Jun 20 5:30pm CT

The Los Angeles Angels will place outfielder/designated hitter Jorge Soler (back) on the 10-day injured list with a back issue, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports. Soler missed the Angels' previous two games because of the injury. The 33-year-old has also battled groin problems during what has been a nightmarish campaign so far. Soler has batted an ugly .207/.280/.350 with eight home runs and 26 RBI in 265 plate appearances. Jo Adell and Luis Rengifo have each started a game in right field during Soler's absence this week. Mike Trout could factor into the picture at some point, but he has been a DH-only option since returning from a knee injury three weeks ago.

    From RotoBaller

    A.J. Puk Fri Jun 20 5:20pm CT

Arizona Diamondbacks reliever A.J. Puk (elbow) will undergo Tommy John surgery on his left elbow, manager Torey Lovullo announced. Puk will miss the rest of the season and a sizable chunk of the 2026 campaign as a result. The Diamondbacks have gone without Puk for most of the season, having placed him on the injured list on April 18 with inflammation in his elbow. The 30-year-old southpaw performed well in a high-leverage role early in the season, converting all four of his save chances and picking up a pair of holds in eight appearances. He'll now have to work back from his second Tommy John procedure. The Diamondbacks recently lost fellow high-leverage reliever Justin Martinez to TJ surgery, leaving the closer role to righty Shelby Miller.

    From RotoBaller

Trevor Larnach Fri Jun 20 5:10pm CT

Minnesota Twins designated hitter/outfielder Trevor Larnach (hand) was a late scratch for their game against the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday. Larnach is out with a right-hand contusion, according to Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic. He had been penciled in as the Twins' DH and cleanup hitter for Friday. Instead, Ryan Jeffers will DH and bat fifth against Brewers right-hander Jacob Misiorowski. A regular in the Twins' lineup this year, Larnach has slashed a respectable .252/.320/.416 with 10 home runs, 35 RBI, and 38 runs scored in 292 plate appearances.

    From RotoBaller

Junior Caminero Fri Jun 20 3:50pm CT

Tampa Bay Rays third baseman Junior Caminero will take a seat on Friday evening when the Rays begin a series against the Detroit Tigers. The former top prospect has started in each of the past 26 contests. During this stretch, Caminero has posted a .317/.389/.683 slash line with 10 doubles, nine home runs, and 28 RBI. Over his last six games, Caminero has been one of the hottest hitters in the game, boasting a .445/.556/.773 slash line with a double and two home runs. This evening, Curtis Mead will cover the hot corner and is slated to bat in the five-hole. Fantasy managers should expect Caminero to return to the starting lineup on Saturday. This evening, the Rays are a viable target in DFS facing Detroit right-hander Jack Flaherty, who enters this game with a 4.03 ERA.

    From RotoBaller

Michael McGreevy Fri Jun 20 3:30pm CT

The St. Louis Cardinals have optioned right-handed pitcher Michael McGreevy to Triple-A Memphis prior to Friday's contest against the Cincinnati Reds. McGreevy was promoted to the major leagues to start the second half of Thursday's doubleheader against the Chicago White Sox. In this outing, the No. 10-ranked prospect in the system tossed five innings of one-run ball with five strikeouts. He allowed just three hits and one walk. Through 16 2/3 innings in the majors this season (three starts), McGreevy has held his own in St. Louis, posting a 2.70 ERA with a stellar 0.84 WHIP. McGreevy made his MLB debut last summer and showed similar success, posting a 1.96 ERA with a 0.78 WHIP across 23 innings. Given his production in the majors, McGreevy should be in the mix to return to the majors later this season.
